As announced, Universal Studios Japan launched the first-ever Halloween special for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Osaka this month, and SnitchSeeker reporter sweetpinkpixie got the chance to walk around the attraction during the two big segments - the daytime trick-or-treat special, and nighttime Death Eater attack on Hogsmeade.

Video highlights featuring SnitchSeeker's Katherine and her young cub reporter testing out both segments, as well as employees' and shopkeepers' participation, can be watched here.

Magical Trick-or-Treat:
As part of an expansion of the interactive wand experience of Hogsmeade Village (usually there are six locations where you can practice magic under the guidance of Hogsmeade shopkeepers), two locations set up in the village where elementary-aged children and younger can point their wands at mysterious wooden barrels that will erupt with candy when hit with the proper spell - Releasio.

Once the spell is properly performed and candy summoned, children are allowed to take a handful of the candy with them. There are also shopkeepers located around the village with special Halloween badges on their robes indicating that if you approach them and say "Trick-or-Treat" you can receive more of this candy should you run out of your reward. My little wizard in training opted to give all his candy away after his successful spellcasting and handed it out to the shopkeepers as a thank you for teaching him magic.

Death Eater Attack
After sundown, the Death Eaters begin their attack on Hogsmeade with the launch of green sparks into the air - to signify the Dark Mark. The small group of Death Eaters then proceeded down the middle of Hogsmeade main street shooting off spells and pushing back the brave shopkeepers who came running out of their shops to try and stop them.

Unfortunately due to the crowd that had gathered awaiting the show, we were unable to see any of the dueling until they reached the main stage. The Death Eaters looked as though they would overpower the Hogsmeade shopkeepers, but in the end good triumphant over evil and won the battle - but perhaps not the war?

The Three Broomsticks also added a special Halloween dessert menu, including the big feast, of which Katherine and her family took a sweet taste, that can be seen here.

The Halloween Trick-or-Treat special will run through the first week of November, and a couple of weeks after, Universal Studios Japan will launch their inaugural Christmas spectacular inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, large festive tree included right dead center of Hogsmeade village.
