A note about 'Order of the Phoenix' casting
 

Danielle Symonds of Enchantment Casting has written to the site asking us to put some rumours straight in regards to casting in the Potter movies, in particular, 'Order of the Phoenix'.

In 2004 her agency did represent two girls who competed for the role of Fleur Delacour. Since then enquiries increased but were managable.

However over the past few weeks she's been receiving more and more contact from people who seem to think she is the HP casting director.

We'd like to help set the record straight on her behalf. She is a casting agent not THE casting director. She runs an agency that represents actors; she does NOT work for 'Harry Potter'.

Casting for 'Order of the Phoenix' has not yet commenced.

That must be so horrible for her and not to mention would make her job harder. The last thing she wants to do is send emails to fans asking for a spot in the casting! I think she's right to do what she's done! Good on her!

Gosh, that poor woman! I bet she was getting so fustrated. The attack of the Potter fans. You gotta admit it does have a ring to it.

I kinda pity her. o well i wonder how you do get a casting call. oh well i won't bother her.

i feel so sorry for her.

I think there's too many people that just want their share of fame. Stop bugging the lady already! There's little chance that any of us fans would ever get parts in the films because they look for so much little detail. If they don't like something, then they'll try and find someone else.

Plus, we already show how crazy we are by the midnight releases and premieres, they don't need someone like that on set. LOL.

You have to feel bit sorry for the lady. I bet all the HP seekers tie up her phone lines and consume loads of time just to tell them she isn't who they need. It would drive me batty. I hope her contact the HP sites help but not every HP fan visits the sites. I hope her business life returns to normal soon.

yeah, i was thinking of applying to that agency not because of its contact with Harry Potter, but when i go to the UK, i'd have some representation for work. i'm looking into being an exchange student there or spending a summer there very soon. poor lady though...she must be going crazy!

Casting calls for open auditions are usually announced in the press -- acting magazines/papers like The Stage are the best option.

That's the point; she is NOT directly connected to Harry Potter.

Well in those 2 years they have to cast, film, do the effects and edit. Casting begins soon -- in the Autumn. Filming starts in January.

No. There's Umbridge. Possibly Kingsley, Emmeline, Hestia, members of the DA, death eaters.

I just gotta laugh cause shes prob never been as famous as she is now. oh well for her. but thats not even real fame. and why do those people even care? casting people are not looking for people to cast the help the ones they already have unless u are the director of casting but then ...oh whats the point. people can be just so thoughtless.

I do feel quite sorry for the poor woman...I just think there should be an official site where you can contact the people in charge of the casting. I, myself, would very much like to audition for the part of Anthony Goldstein, but I haven't found a way to get in touch with Debra McGellan or Fiona Weir...I think thats who's in charge. :worried:
