A commentary by Daniel Drezner discusses a new Potter/religion argument currently being waged by an Islamic fundamentalist group...that Harry is part of a missionary plot to spread Christianity.
I think it's great if harry potter books brings someone closer to christianity. Myself I don't see the resemblence except he always stands up for whats right. I am a christian and love the books they are very entertaining and keeps you on the edge of your seat. J.K. Rowling is a wonderful author. When you can read something fiction and put yourself right in the story then you can believe it is happening at that moment. All I can say is great I love it Hope she never stops. My heart bleeds buttermilk for thoes who don't approve. :brokenheart:
A reply to Daniel's Commentary: I'm a Baptist and a Harry Potter Fan. I had read all the books seeing Fairy Tale and no Witch Craft. I don't like listening to Mr. Dobson and Focus on the Family. I stoped listening years ago when he was preaching rubish, which none came from the Bible. He said, "the world will explode in Spring of 99", and here it is 2003. "I can't stand that Blasipher and his Blasphemy"!
I AM WITH YOU. MY HUSBAND WAS A BAPTIST PREACHER. BUT HAD TO QUIET WHEN HE GOT SICK. I HAVE READ ALL THE BOOKS SO FAR EXCEPT #5 I HOPE TO READ IT SOON. IT IS GREAT INTERTAINMENT. THOES THAT CAN NOT SEE THAT I AM VERY SORRY FOR. LIKE I SAID MY HEART BLEEDS BUTTERMILK FOR THOES.
