Charlie was dressed in his comfiest, most perfect clothing for the occasion: Nike sports shoes, a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie {alright, so this was his usual go-to outfit, but hey. He was an outdoorsy guy and usually dressed that way}. The hood of his grey was pulled over his head, leaving just a mop of his dark hair visible over his forehead. At his side was Keighley since the couple had opted {and sensibly so} to head out together.

"Hi, Professor!'' Oh, look. The Herbology professor was just as excited as he was. Charlie peered around at the baskets and hampers but couldn't seem to focus too much on them. He was just itching to get outside.

Naturally she was not going to miss this event. Primarily because hiking on the grounds suggested the possibility of going into the Forbidden Forest, not that that was promised anywhere. But a girl had to take what chances were offered - so she arrived outside the main entrance and smiled when she spotted the Professor and her favorite Hufflepuff coiple. She'd taken the suggestion from the notice, wearing some of her athletic wear with a red jumper over it and her hair braided into two long french braids to keep it out of her face, tennies on her feet. She was comfortable so hiking shouldn't be an issue.

Glancing at the selection of baskets on the ground, she eyed them curiously for a moment before turning to ask DeVries about them. "Should we be grabbing one of those to carry sir?" And was there going to be a competition on who could fill one first??

Javier was quite fond of this whole moonlight motif they'd come up for these little activities this term. It was fun to mix the subjects together and find common links between them. He smiled happily as he headed to the gathering Tapio was holding.

"Hello all," he greeted the small group that had started to gather with a grin. Not only was he happy to help with this current project, but he also wanted to maybe grab a few ingredients for his own stores while they were out. If there were any to spare, of course!

Celeste was definitely pleased that the weather was behaving for them, allowing her, Javier and Tapio to lead the students on their moon adventure. The glowing orb was full and bright as her maps had promised for this evening which had certainly been helpful when she had flown down earlier with her own preparations. Her own satchel slung over her shoulder and the older woman leaning absently on a walking staff she knew would come in handy for her as they made their way down the intended path.

“Guid evening,” she greeted as first Mr. Bergstrand and Ms. Thanatos joined them at the meeting point. As for the latter’s question, Celeste was leaving that for the herbology professor to answer seeing as said man was the one in charge of that portion of the plan.

A moonlit hike? Yes, please. That really was all that this girl needed to hear and she was already all in. Anything else they got to do during this hike was an added bonus. So there the blonde was, with her hair pulled back from her face on the sides and clipped there with a little silver badger clips. Like Charlie, she had gone the very comfortable route as well and went ahead in wearing gray sweatpants, a very colorful t-shirt and an over-sized yellow hoodie (that clearly wasn't hers).

"Hello, hello!" Keighley wiggled the fingers of her free hand, because her other might just have been grasping the one of the boy at her side. A few bounces on her toes were had as she looked around at where they had gathered.

Plants were cool.

Not quite up to the standards of Magical Creature cool but they came a close second. Aurora was also the most enthusiastic second year with a major case of FOMO resulting in her wanting to join in with every little extra curricular activity that the school provided especially when this one involved a picnic and therefore food. The fact that it was in the evening however wasn’t quite so welcoming as the Ravenclaw did enjoy her sleep too.

Stifling a yawn she trudged her way down from the tower and out into the grounds to meet the rest of her fellow students. She recognised a few although there were a few faculty members too who had decided to join in the activities. Professor DeVries and Professor Gert got a nice big smile for a greeting. Professor Hernandez however received a slightly suspicious look from the blonde as she recalled the last activity she had helped him with resulted in her having a new found major fear of GNOMES.

For which she blamed the poor innocent Professor entirely.

Students and professors were beginning to arrive as the moonlight slowly began to grow brighter on the horizon and the first stars made their appearance."Good evening, Javier, planning on collecting a few herbs of your own, I'll bet. Good evening to you, Celeste, thanks for joining us." Tapio was glad his colleagues had been able to join them, for it was hard for a single teacher to keep track of a bunch of students out of doors, especially at night, and he certainly didn't want anyone to get lost of come to harm. Plus, there was always one or two who would try to slip off to the Forbidden Forest if you didn't watch them (Yes, Vera Thanatos, I'm looking at you!).

"Hello, Mr. Bergstrand, Miss Anders," Tapio greeted the first arriving students. He smiled at the two Hufflepuffs, who had become quite the couple this year, for one was seldom seen without the other at an event. "Miss Thanatos, glad you could make it," he nodded at the young Gryffindor. "Thanks for the offer, but I was just going to move them with magic." Tapio smiled at her, and added in a louder voice, "although if anyone feels they're pretty good at the Locomotor charm, you're free to help move one of them. You'll have to do it for a good distance, though. Miss Archard, good to see you," he nodded at a young Ravenclaw who'd just joined them wearing a rather old-fashioned jacket and knitted hat.

Tapio looked around to see who else was coming. "Enjoy the evening, everyone, we'll get started in a little bit."


[OOC: Waiting to see if anyone else shows up, and besides I'm low on time, so we'll get truly underway tomorrow morning.]

Desiree was not the outdoorsy type, like, at all! She wasn’t sure she’d like hiking, but she was willing to give it a try. Herbology was one of the most important OWLs she needed to pass if she was going to become a healer. If this activity helped her learn something, it would be worth it! Funny time for a hike, she thought as she made her way to the entrance hall. Probably something to do with night-blooming plants…

As usual, the dark-haired Hufflepuff’s attire had a Disney inspiration. Tonight she was channeling Raya in yellowish-green coveralls, a red poncho, sturdy brown hiking boots, and a matching belt. A hat to protect her hair from any wind or rain completed the outfit. She was going for fashionable yet practical - and most importantly, protection from getting wet or dirty. She’d even remembered to cast Impervius on her clothing before she left her dorm, just in case. She wouldn’t get fooled again after that water balloon lesson!

“Hello, Professors,” Desiree greeted, nodding politely to Devries, Gert, and Hernandez each in turn. Joining the group, she smiled and waved to the other students. “Hi, Charlie. Hi, Vera. Hi, Keighley. Hi, Aurora.”


Norman was mildly curious about this little venture his colleagues had put together. A night hike sounded fun and practical, which he greatly appreciated. Since he had some free time this evening and felt right at home in the outdoors, he saw no reason not to join in the activity.

“Good evening, everyone,” he greeted upon arrival, nodding in acknowledgement to students and staff alike. He made his way through the crowd to stand near his colleagues. “Great idea for an activity! Do you need an extra hand?” And more importantly, an extra pair of eyes. If his past experiences were anything to go by, large groups usually meant chaos.

Tapio saw a few more people coming to join the group. "Ah, Miss Marchand, thank you for joining us. You're just in time." He noticed the girl was wearing yet another fashionable (he assumed) outfit and was once again impressed how she could manage to combine style with practicality. "Nice outfit."

Turning, Tapio was glad to see yet another fellow teacher joining them--the more the better on an expedition like this. "Good evening, Norman, yes, please join us." Tapio leaned in toward the other man and added in a lower voice, "Yes, if you can help us keep an eye on the students to make sure no one gets lost, or wanders off on a private moonlight stroll, or tries to sneak into the Forbidden Forest, that'd be great."

Standing back and raising his voice again, the large Herbology professor continued. "Well, I think we're ready to get started now. Tonight is meant to be fun--walking outside in under the moon is always a pleasure. It's also an opportunity to observe plants and animals that only bloom or come out at night. But we also have a practical objective--we're going to try to find some Fluxweed and harvest it for our Potions Professor." He smiled over at Javier. "I believe Professor Hernandez has covered this plant earlier in the year, and Professor Gert covered moon phases in one of her classes. Well now we're going to see the fluxweed plant in the wild, so to speak, and since it's the full moon tonight, that's the right time to harvest it for...what potion?" Tapio looked around, feeling pretty sure that a few of them would know this.

"And while we discuss this, let's start walking! Any of you who want to help move a hamper, go right ahead, and I'll take care of the rest." Tapio raised his wand and cast Locomotor on any remaining baskets and began walking off down a grassy, sloping path leading off toward some trees and shrubbery. He walked at an easy pace (for him), so hopefully everyone could keep up.

“Hi, Vera!” Charlie was quite happy to see the Gryffindor. Her weirdness had grown on him over the two years he had been at Hogwarts. “I like your footwear.” Of course there were always other professors at the activities so there was no surprise to see Hernandez, Carton and Gert. “Hello, professors.” As for Keighley, yes, she was clinging to his hand. Admittedly, he thought as he peered down at her, she looked comically adorable wearing his hoodie, which was definitely huge for her. DeVries had it right, he and Keigh were almost inseparable. Spotting Desiree, he returned her wave. His Housemate was one hundred percent ready for the hike in that outfit.

Char honed in back on DeVries. Yes, it was going to be quite the evening. Char could hardly wait to get out there in the moonlight with the girlfriend’s continued presence at his side. Fluxweed… yes, he recalled the times the Potions Master had talked to them about the plant. “The Animal Whisperer Potion,” Charlie said, just loud enough for everyone gathered to hear.

Now that they were heading for the trees, he followed DeVries lead by casting the Locomotor on a hamper then heading down the slopey path. What were in these hampers, anyway?

The more Professor's that she started to get eyes on, the less hopeful Vera was feeling about her chances of getting into the Forbidden Forest. It didn't seem like DeVries had any intention of taking them that way, and while this would have been a PRIME time to sneak away and go on her own adventure, the Professor to teacher ratio was not appearing to be in her favor. The final joining of Professor Carton sealed the deal for her, especially when she heard the herbology Professor whisper something about watching out for students sneaking off. That felt targeted, okay!! But maybe it was because looking around this group, she figured she was probably the most likely.

Well... sigh. Was it too late to sneak back away and head to her dorm? Seemed like a yes on that so. Supposed she'd have to make the most of it.

Smiling at the Professors and offering a polite greeting, figuring at the very least she could make herself appear the picture of innocence (as if), her attention then turned to all the other students as well who got finger waves from her. Charlie and Keighley together of course made sense, Aurora didn't seem one to miss out on an event and then Desiree as well. This was a very Hufflepuff heavy event wasn't it? Maybe that was because their Head of House was involved?

"Hi Desiree, Hi Charlie!" Both of them got special verbal greetings, as she didn't want to be rude after they had also done so. And had she been able to read Charlie's thoughts, she would have pointed out that was part of her charm - she tended to grow on people. Kind of like a fungus.

Soooo... the point of the evening was for fluxweed, was it? "Isn't Fluxweed in Felix Felicis? Are you making liquid luck, Professor Hernandez?" And were there any extra credits assignments she could struggle through to get a small dose of it? Moving her feet to follow along after the others, she opted to not assist with baskets - not quite trusting her casting to actually be helpful and not slow her down.

Norman nodded, smiling slightly. This wasn’t his first rodeo, so to speak. He’d been around long enough to know that shenanigans always ensued with large groups, and he knew what to watch out for. “I’m on it,” he replied in an equally low voice. There would be no sneaking off on his watch!

He listened as Tapio started things off. While there were a number of potions that could be, Norman’s mind immediately went to Polyjuice. He blamed his Auror training for that! Troublesome potion… He refrained from commenting to give the students a chance to answer and to not give them any ideas about brewing Polyjuice Potion. That was the last thing they needed!

Casting a nonverbal Locomotor on the nearest hamper, he brought up the rear of the little group as they made their way down the path.


Desiree positively beamed at the compliment her outfit got. “Thank you, Professor,” she replied. Charlie and Vera’s greetings each got a smile in response, and a little smile and wave for Professor Carton when he arrived too. But there wasn’t much time for conversation; they were starting!

“Locomotor.” Desiree cast, aiming her wand at a hamper. She followed the group along the path, considering the question carefully. For some reason, this reminded her of the potions riddle at the s’mores party earlier this term. Fluxweed had been her answer then. She thought of the potions in that riddle, and one in particular stuck in her mind. “What about Vaxifloo?” she said. “That uses fluxweed, and I’m pretty sure it has to be picked at the full moon.”

Tapio was feeling more and more invigorated and cheerful the further they walked, and he had to watch himself to keep from striding on ahead of everyone else. He loved being outdoors.

"Yes, the Animal Whisperer Potion and the Vaxifloo Potion both use fluxweed, and it should be picked under the full moon, like the one we have tonight. And...well, Miss Thanatos I'm not sure about Felix Felicis." Tapio did not recall fluxweed being one of the ingredients for that offhand, though he didn't know the ingredients of all the potions from memory. "Perhaps we should defer to our expert, Professor Hernandez about that."

By now the group had arrived beside a meadow filled with occasional shrubs and trees, and filled with growing things. One reached it by turning off the main path onto a little footpath, which wound through the grasses. Tapio had checked ahead of time, and he knew that a number of clusters of fluxweed were growing here, as well as a number of other plants. [b]"All right, now, here we are! We're turning off onto this path through the meadow and our task tonight is to find some fluxweed and harvest it. Use your wands to cast Lumos if you need to, although the moon should be bright enough to see to walk, at any rate. We've covered this plant in both Herbology and Potions, but just as a reminder, it's a rather tall plant, long pointed green leaves, and, when it's in bloom, small purple flowers. Put the plants you find in your satchels or bags and we'll drop them off at the greenhouses on our way back. Then we can sort through them at our next class and see what you've come up with. Oh, and those of you who've been carrying hampers, just set them down here by me, and thank you very much.

"All right, have at it!" Tapio stood near a small sapling tree and watched as the students spread out in the meadow. He'd be checking up on them every now and then, but first, he had a few things to attend to here.


[OOC: Had to go out of town for a few days unexpectedly, but am back now, and this will continue for a while, at least to give a chance to catch up.]

Truthfully, she wouldn't be at all surprised if she'd been wrong and Felix Felicis did not have fluxweed in it. There was a very legitimate reason it was her worst class and why she'd enlisted a tutor. Though... enlisted was a strong word, they offered she'd just been wise enough to accept. Not that she'd seen any difference yet, but there was some time to make up from.

Following along after the others, she admired the way the area looked in the moment. It wasn't often she went outside during the full moon, and definitely even less times to frolic through a meadow. Even if this was an extracurricular event, there was something almost romantic to it. Which was perhaps the only reason she did not insert herself with hanging out with Keighley and Charlie. There was a time and a place to third wheel.

Once they reached the area, Vera parked herself next to Desiree to listen to instructions, adjusting her bag over her shoulder at the mention that's what they could place the items in. She hoped there wasn't any melted chocolate or anything on the inside, which was always a possibility for her. Would chocolate covered fluxweed make a difference in a potion? Maybe just make it taste better? It might be better this time to NOT find out.

Once they were released, Ve went off in search of the plant - only using the moonlight for her guide because for some reason that made it more interesting to her. Finding a small clump of the described plant (or maybe thistle - it was dark), she gathered up a couple of pieces of it, carefully setting it into her bag, before moving on to find another patch.

Charlie multitasked by keeping an eye out on where they were going for anything that would make either him or Keigh {got to look out for the girlfriend, after all} trip and by listening to everyone speaking up. But before he knew it, they had all arrived a ton of greenery. His keen eyes were already searching for Fluxweed; even before DeVries had given them a reminder of the plant’s description as he had recalled it. Upon the mention of the hampers, the Puff set his down beside his Head of House.

“Shall we?” he asked Keigh in a true gentleman fashion. Unless she wanted to complete the task with her friends or Olivia. Char wouldn’t mind; he wasn’t the possessive or jealous type of guy. In any case, he was going to get started at the clump of greenery at his twelve o’ clock.

A Fluxweed hunting he went!

Trekking through the grass following her classmates and professors in the moonlight, Auden gripped her satchel over her shoulder as she held her wand aloft in front of her.
Although the first year wasn’t a complete novice to using the Locomotor charm (it was her favorite spell to use when sorting out her dorm room after all) it still required most of her concentration to move the hamper in front of her through the pathway. She’d wanted to respond to Professor’s question about what potion used fluxweed but she was honestly not entirely sure she trusted herself to answer correctly. She could almost remember seeing a particular page in her potions book. If she tried to force her memory she could maybe remember the title at the top of the page….Was it a calming draught…or maybe it was a healing draught?…either way she was not confident enough to respond and besides she had to use all her concentration to make sure she didn’t trip and send the hamper bouncing against her classmates.

So focused was she on her careful journey, it wasn’t until everyone came to a stop beside the meadow that the young first year was really able to take in her surroundings. Letting the hamper down with a grassy thud beside the small sapling, she decided to follow suit and plop herself down as the group began to disperse. Just to soak it all in for a minute before she went off herself.

It really was a nice night. The air smelled crisp and cool and just green really, if green was a smell. And not like fresh mowed grass green either. The deep woodsy scent of dark leafy green… or maybe more of foliage green, the kind she was seeing all around her. Her train of thought carried on this way for a few minutes in her head, contemplating different shades of green and what smell would correspond to them.

Tapio watched his students head off across the meadow in pairs and small groups--they all seemed to be getting on without further assistance from him, for the moment at least (though he was keeping an eye on the path heading off in the direction of the Forbidden Forest, just in case). He noticed one of the first years had stayed near the baskets and hampers and decided to check in her.

"Doing all right, Miss Azarolla?" he asked, looking down at the young Ravenclaw. "Did you want to go look for some fluxweed? I can go with you, if you'd rather have company." It occurred to him that Auden might not feel comfortable roaming around the meadow at night alone. "Or you're certainly welcome to stay here and rest--this isn't a class."

While waiting to see if his student needed anything from him, Tapio began to lift the lids of one of the basketss and magically lift out a number of blankets and quilts, spread them open, and set them down on the ground. These were followed by piles of plates, napkins, cups, and cutlery. Finally, Tapio opened the hampers containing the food--sandwiches, sausage rolls, fruit, cut-up veggies, and last but not least, an assortment of cookies and small cakes of various kinds. No outing was complete without a little food, after all, and there was nothing like a picnic by moonlight. The last thing he did was to levitate strings of fairy lights out of the last basket and magically drape them up into the limbs of the tree under which this picnic was laid out. It would be waiting for the students when they got back from their explorations.


[OOC: I'll be wrapping up this outing over the weekend but there's still a day or two left to enjoy Tapio's picnic and wrap things up.]

Keighley gave Charlie a smile as she followed his direction, tripping over something now wouldn't be much fun at all. Especially not while levitating one of the baskets in front of her. Not knowing the contents of what was inside them, she definitely didn't want to be the one to drop it. After a very successful couple of minutes, they arrived at the area they had been walking towards and Keigh carefully lowered the basket down beside all of the others.

Without a sound, the sixth year listened to each Professor as they spoke. A description was given about Fluxweed and some other information too. The next thing she knew Charlie was asking her if she wanted to go searching for the plant together. How could she said no? She couldn't and she didn't want to. "We shall," she giggled, reaching out to take hold of his arm. "Where do you want to start?"

It really came as no surprise that Keighley was sticking with him. “This way,’’ he said, indicating the general direction by pointing. His sharp eyes didn’t need extra light since the moon was providing more than enough for him to see clearly. “Need extra light?” he asked the girl hanging onto his arm. For her sake, he’d be willing to cast Lumos to help. At that moment, he chose to look behind him. The colourful fairy lights caught his eyes immediately. Further examination told him that they had a treat instore for when they got back. “Looks like DeVries has set up a picnic for us,’’ Char told his girlfriend, grinning as he did. Picnics were his and Keighley’s thing so he knew she’d be happy about the spread.

With the prospect of foods and drinks motivating him, the seventh year got to work. He carefully examined the greenery, running his gaze over it all. Eventually, some Fluxweed was discovered. Delighted with his find, he carefully plucked it and placed it in the satchel he was carrying. “There’s some more here, Sunflora,’’ Charlie said, nodding at the new set of the plant he had just come across.

Celeste simply nodded at her colleague’s thanks for joining them having not been about to leave him alone when it had been planned to work together. Beside the more eyes around, the less chance for trouble, caused by the children at least. The animangus had almost thought to keep guard from the skies above them but decided against it so she could be on hand to answer questions as well. “Good evening Ms. Marchand…Norman,” she greeted the duo as the next and the last two to arrive to seemed as the herbologist began their evening plans.

With Tapio heading the little group and Norman taking up the rear, Celeste settled in the middle amongst the students with suited her three-legged pace just fine. She quietly picked her way along and kept an eye on things from her position, listening as potions for supplied in answer to the questions raised. Animal whisperer…Felix Felicis…Vaxifloo, the astronomy professor, absently nodding in confirmation of the two that were correct to her knowledge. The effects of being married and mother to potions masters seeing as she wasn’t the best potions brewer on her own.

As they turned off the path to disperse in their search of the fluxweed, the area definitely welcoming for the planned picnic. Celeste wandered a little further in one direction to extend the perimeter of staff as students spread out. And wouldn’t you knownot long after…there was the plant in question, it’s height and appearance quite familiar to her as well. The family home tended to have quite a garden of useful potions ingredients scattered around the flowers and plants she chose just because. She eased down to pick some, adding it to her satchel for safe keeping.

That was good because it really shouldn't have. Not when they had come together in the first place. It would be plain rude of her to leave him.. and everyone knew she was pretty much glued to either Liv's or his side this term. She didn't mean to seem clingy but.. it was what it was. The two of them were graduating and she wasn't. In her head this meant she needed to spend as much time with them as she could.

"I don't think so," Keighley smiled softly at the offer of extra light. "The moonlight is perfect, don't you think?" It was shining down upon them like it wanted them to be safe in their short journey. Unlike Charlie, the blonde didn't glance back so she was unaware of the setup happening until the boyfriend spoke. A picnic?! Oh, how lovely of him to do that!" Picnics were right up her alley of things she enjoyed. And unable to contain her excitement about it, she gave Char's hand a squeeze.

At the new knowledge of food for them to enjoy, Keigh was all about finding their share of fluxweed first. It seemed she didn't have to look all too hard when she was called over by Charlie. "I'll get it for you," she smiled at his use of her nickname, kneeling down so that she could carefully pluck the bunch and place it into the satchel he was carrying. Might as well keep what they find all together, yes?

Norman nodded politely in reply to Celeste’s greeting. He listened to the students’ answers, more than a little relieved that no one had mentioned Polyjuice potion. Merlin, don’t give anyone that idea! He’d had enough Polyjuice shenanigans for one lifetime! His thoughts turned to his first day teaching at Hogwarts, how he’d watched who he thought was Malachi Trent transform into Lucien Rosier as the polyjuice potion wore off.

But now wasn’t the time to dwell on that! Still bringing up the rear, he set the hamper he was moving down as the group arrived in the meadow. Eyes scanning the area, he wandered toward the end of the meadow nearest the Forbidden Forest so he could keep an eye out for students sneaking off. While he was there, he may as well make himself useful and help gather fluxweed. He roamed the area, not bothering to cast Lumos out of his old Auror instinct to not draw attention to himself. Besides, the moon was pretty bright anyway.

He spotted the tall plant with pointy leaves and purple flowers and carefully picked it, placing in in his satchel. When the satchel was full, he made his way back to the middle of the meadow just in time to see the picnic laid out. “Wow, you’ve really outdone yourself!” he said to the herbology professor.


Desiree smiled at Professor Gert’s greeting. She noticed the astronomy professor’s nod when she gave her answer; that was an encouraging sign that she was on the right track. Although she was confident that her Vaxifloo guess was correct, she couldn't help but beam when Professor Devries confirmed it. She followed the group down the path to the meadow, moving her hamper along with her wand as she went. She set the hamper down next to the professor and stood off to the side to listen, smiling as Vera joined her.

Okay, tall plant, pointy green leaves, small purple flowers. Got it! Of course, Desiree had seen illustrations of fluxweed in her textbooks, but the way Professor Devries described it made it sound even prettier in person. Hmm, he said it was a tall plant… is it even taller than him? She thought as she wandered off in search of fluxweed.

She strolled down the path, musing to herself how beautiful and romantic the light of the full moon was. If only she had a Prince Charming! The sight of a pretty purple flower distracted her from her daydream (nightdream?). Was it-? She took a slicer look. Yes, fluxweed! She picked the plant, gently placing each piece in her satchel. She’d gathered a little more than half a satchel full when she noticed a light out of the corner of her eye. No, not moonlight. This was something else!

She followed the light back to the meadow. Ooh, fairy lights! So pretty! Her eyes lit up at the sight of the fairy lights and picnic. “Thank you for the picnic, Professor!” she said, helping herself to a few cookies and cakes.

Oh, Char didn’t mind that Keigh was being clingy. It was understandable since he wasn’t going to be at Hogwarts next year. “Agreed,’’ he agreed, tilting his face towards the sky, which was bright with the moon rather luminous. “Perfect evening for a picnic too. Professor Devries is rather thoughtful.” Yes, their Head of House definitely was. “Think there’s any hot chocolate?” Maybe he could try Summoning some of his favourite Swedish toppings from his stash in the Hufflepuff seventh year boys’ dorm.

He chuckled. “Silly, Keigh. That’s for you. I’ve found a bit more right… here.” Charlie reached over to carefully pluck some more of the fluxweed. Truthfully, there was a feeling of certainty that he would never ever be able to forget what this particular plant looked like; it was all rooted in his brain. “I think I’ve collected enough. How about you?” Would it be long before they scooted off to the picnic? It was almost as though the spread was calling him relentlessly!

Tapio was satisfied with everyone's progress--they were all finding fluxweed, or most of them, as far as he could tell, and more importantly, they seemed to be having a good time. Tapio had not only found several very nice fluxweed plants himself, but also a number of others--mugwort, lemon balm, spearmint, just to name a few.

Now he sensed the evening winding down, so he had retired to one of the blankets in the picnic area to sample some of the food. He hoped that the others would feel free to do likewise.
