| | Duck Pond Tucked away off of one of the many pathways that winds around the castle's grounds is a small pond. While during the winter it tends to freeze over, during the other three seasons the pond is populated with ducks, geese and many other feathered friends. Wildflowers border the pond and lily pads float in groups around some of the edges. A couple benches face the pond if you'd like to take a seat. You'll probably be able to see little schools of fish swimming around at the bottom of the pond, too.
Between the sounds of the ducks, the frogs, the birds and all of the other sounds of nature, you should find this setting perfectly relaxing for a meditation session, reading, or any other quiet activity. Best not to bring any loud drama to the area, though, as the pond life can be rather skittish.

All sorts of cool bugs and creatures liked the mud!
Wearing his rain boots, which of course had frogs on them, he was carefully itching his way over to the duck pond. "Hi ducks!" he called out to them as he approached, letting them know that he saw them and was just here to hang out and see if any frogs or bugs were nearby. He wasn't going to bother them, promise! She'd been planning to practice her routine today--wrote it on her calendar and everything...but then she got a glimpse of the outside. Today, the sun was proper in the sky. Who knew the next time it would be? The Scottish countryside wasn't always so giving so she had to go for a walk while she could.
The walk happened to take her over to the duck pond of all places. "Oh." She looked around, disappointment obvious on her face. "I thought for sure I'd run into the butterfly garden if I kept going this way." It was the most elusive thing she'd ever seen. Emm could count on ONE HAND the times she'd ever actually found that thing. The Room of Requirement didn't give her this much grief! "Have you seen it?"

Adam looked up from his expedition and wrinkled his eyebrows. He hadn't expected a ton of people outside at this time but honestly - it was super nice out. So yeah, of COURSE people would come out and enjoy the weather! He grinned at her even though he was a bit confused by Emmerson's question. "The butterfly garden? It's more that way," he explained, lazily gesturing back towards the castle a bit. He couldn't blame her - he still didn't know where half the stuff was in this castle, especially since they'd renovated everything immediately after they got here.

I already looked that way." Emm fussed, unamused it seemed he didn't know where it was either. The Gryffindor threw herself down onto the grass by the lake, legs criss crossed and her hands cupping her face. "Why'd they make that thing move all the time anyway?" Seriously. WHO decided a garden that was ALWAYS somewhere else was a GOOD idea? "This is probably the only day it'll sun for Merlin knows how long and instead of spending it with butterflies, I have to spend it scouring the mucky grounds for a garden that's got ADHD."
It was like dealing with that one little boy from her gymnastics class. He was never where her eyes left him. Ever. "They're spending our gold. We should demand they make a garden people don't have to play explorer to find."
It was only fair.

It was only fair. "It's kind of fun though, isn't it?" Adam asked with a grin. Although, as soon as he said it, he figured that it was probably a bad suggestion. Her whole attitude seemed to suggest that she did NOT think it was fun. Whoops. And at her last statement, he wrinkled his eyebrows.
"OUR gold? You mean the SCHOOL's gold," he corrected her gently. After all, the gold had been found on school property. It was already HERE. The kids just happened upon it.

| Divination 2 activity: Post 1 ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. On her way to the Duck Pond, Claudine decided that she would not let Slythers simply have his way and be lazy for the remainder of the lesson. This was why she set him in the ground a bit of the distance away from the Pond. Her reasoning behind this? She wasn’t sure if Slythers would go after the ducks and geese in there. After all, even snakes had to eat.
But Slythers… well… before she could so much as say or do anything else, the snake was off slithering at full speed towards the pond. Claudine knew what was about to happen and no shout of Slythers to stop would do any good. The snake was too fast. The moment he reached the edge of the pond, he unhinged his jaws and snapped up a duckling. Good, great Merlin.
The Snakette cautiously approached, eyes on Slythers watching him gulp down the duckling. This gave her time to consult the paper she had gotten from class. “Serpent eats another animal - the area is calm and no danger around,’’ she read. Wow. That was a weird interpretation but okay. The required notes were made. |

"You've got a weird definition of "fun"." Emmerson decided, wrinkling her nose a little. "I'd rather be in the garden chasing butterflies and pretending I'm in the middle of a recital, graceful as the butterflies and floatie and glamorous and breathtaking."
The Gryffindor sighed wistfully, wishing for the millionth time that she could now be in the butterfly garden. She could almost see the gracefully little insects flittering around.
Her daydream ended abruptly, green eyes shooting to her present company. [b]"No."[/]b Emm said firmly. "Our gold. We found it and only me and Kale wanted to open it. Haven't you ever heard of finders keepers? It's our right by all the laws of...of...everything!" "You're telling me you're fine with the Headmaster doing whatever he wants with it? You don't want even a liiiiittle of it for yourself?"

Hogwarts RPG Name: Serena Anastasia Anders Fifth Year x2
| Divination Post 2 with Avalon! || Laura's walking popcorn || Lermaniac || Tazzie's Sugar || Mrs. Henderson Serena walked down from the Whomping Willow to the duck pond, Sven sitting on her shoulders comfortably. It was weird step up from their relationship from a few minutes ago; but watching your class partner be possessed by a mysterious treasure searching ghost does weird things to ones friendships.
She set Sven down on the grass by the side of the pond as she waits for Avalon to catch up with them. "Now, I know this place is pretty chill, but don't go eating anything alive in here, ok?" She tells Sven, taking a seat across from him.
As soon as she takes her seat, the snake in question slithers up towards her, and rests its triangular shaped head on her angle. "Oh!" The Slytherin said in surprise, glancing up at Avalon as she did so. "He likes me I guess."

The Slytherin said in surprise, glancing up at Avalon as she did so. "He likes me I guess." Avalon followed Serena to the Duck Pond, wondering what had just happened. One minute she was fine - just watching the snake. And the next, it was like she blacked out. She vaguely recalled a cold feeling and a loud voice, but that was about it. She couldn't possibly be that tired from studying for OWLs, could she? "I'm glad he likes you," Avalon said, relieved that the snake was no longer paying her any attention. Why did Sven think she was suspicious? Could it have something to do with whatever had just happened - when her mind seemed to go blank? It was all very confusing. "I hope he doesn't see any of those ducks over there and try to eat one. That would be disgusting." |
