What is your favorite canon ship and why?

:val3: What's your favorite canon ship? :val3:

The Potter series introduced us to MANY characters, ships that we saw coming or even those that took us by surprise by the end. Which ship ultimately is the one that you said "YES! FINALLY". Or maybe you'd like to discuss the ones that made you roll your eyes and say "Really? Do better." The ships that you were grateful didn't last? Share your thoughts here on all things that came to be, or didn't ....

*gets the ball rolling*

My favourite canon ships are Ronks (Remus and Tonks), Jily (James and Lily) and Romione (Ron and Hermione) - they're all just SO PURE, in my opinion. :loved:

Remus deserved someone like Tonks to show him that he's not a monster. Or at least that he shouldn't view himself that way. It's a shame they didn't get to see their son grow up. ;______; I think the reason I love Jily so much is fanfiction. It must be seen as they're not talked about that much in the books. But GOSH they make my little shipper heart SING. :x3:

Why are 2/3 of my favourite ships dead?

Nat giving us the classics!

I agree there’s something very pure about jilly, ronks (that sounds wrong) and ronmione. I absolutely shipped Harry and Hermione for years but you can’t deny that painful, wonderful chemistry Ron & hermione always had

I think for me, I loved Fred and Angelina so much. All their little moments together were funny, and sweet and Angelina was just the kind of woman I could see one of the twins (little did I know it would be both) fall in love with.

And bill and fleur. Ugh! So cool and beautiful together. Both very clever, both very strong and compassionate. Fleur’s exclamation that she was beautiful enough for the both of them will forever be one of my favorite moments and I’ll always be mad it wasn’t in the films. They really deserved more page and screen time.

I think mine has to be Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. I just love their relationship. Their marriage is so realistic, they have their moments of disagreement, you can tell he drives her crazy at times, but in the end, their love for each other shines through.

RachieRu 02-14-2019 04:00 PM

I simply adore Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy (or Lucissa). There's not much of them in the books, but I just love themm (and the Malfoy and Black family in general)

I just really like how clearly they love each other and how much they are willing to sacrifice for their family. I mean, Narcissa lied to the Dark Lord in a bid to save her son. And ask JK has said, the saving grace of the Malfoy family is that they love each other.

Def my faves <3

Ughhhggughhhhhh, yes. I love Lucius and Narcissa so much. Joanne really did that.

Jily :loved: :bye: I think I re-read that chapter in the 5th book so many times. I loved all the canon Jily so much. I'm also a big shipper of RonMione :loved: and Ronks  I felt Tonks during the 6th book.

I love them too :loved: Mollywobbles  their relationship is the #RelationshipGoals magical equivalent of Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell to muggles

WhittyBitty 02-14-2019 05:38 PM

I’m with Ali. Arthur and Molly for sure! I think they have a very real marriage, where they have their arguments and get frustrated with each other, but their hearts are full of love for each other and their family. The kind of marriage I would want to have. There are other great relationships in the series, but I think theirs is my favourite.

MunchyBubbles 02-14-2019 05:44 PM

I definitely loved Molly and Arthur! Just like Ali and Whit said..

Also I’m probably the only one who liked Harry/Ginny I liked their story, and how she grew out of her childhood crush on him and into her own person and then they got together. I thought it was super good

And Ron and Hermione of course.

Bazinga 02-14-2019 07:08 PM

I know this is an odd one and it didn't last, but I always enjoyed the Ron/Lavender

Wow. So ngl but i shamefully always seem to forget about Molly/Arthur!!! And yet everything said here is soooo 100000% true. Such an amazingly true and realistic relationship.

I liked Harry/Ginny ... it just irritated me more with what an idiot Harry was in noticing her. But once he stopped being such an idiot. Although in truth, its probably realistic here too cause sometimes the one you love is right before your eyes and you don't truly see them

Jessiqua 02-15-2019 06:59 AM

It's fitting that it's an elimination battle between Molly&Arthur, James&Lily, and Remus&Tonks :loved:

Sangeetha 02-15-2019 11:40 AM

Bill and Fleur :loved:
They are adorable!! How Fleur agreed to marry Bill despite his bites and all shows that she is an amazing person. She struggled so much to get along with Bill's family and yet was mocked and scoffed at. The part where she hisses at Molly shows the built up frustration and sadness that she had held on to quite admirably. I love them.

I wish wish wish Neville and Luna had gotten together!! :(

Also Moly and Arthur!! Love 'em. Truly #CoupleGoals :D

Tonks and Remus, cos I love how Tonks saw him for the amazing man that he was. Especially love how their story in Pottermore.

Jean Granger 02-15-2019 02:45 PM

My favourite ship would be Newt and Tina. It's obvious that they love each other and the way they express it is just adorable ("salamander eyes"!!). I hope to see more cute scenes of them in future movies - they deserve ALL the love.

:loved:

MOLLYWOBBLES. :lmao: :loved:

They really aaaaaare amazing!

I love that they aren't perfect individually (Molly can DEFINITELY be shallow sometimes) but they come together SO well and you can tell they love each other without it having to be IN YOUR FACE obvious.

I was more a fan of Ginny's personal story/growth than their relationship story tbh. I LOVE how Ginny grows out of her crush and becomes more confident and self-assured. But I never felt like they were #ENDGAME. I can see why Harry loves her, though... She reminds me a lot of Lily in terms of her spirit/passion/fire/y'know.

I enjoyed them, too, but as example of a classic teenage relationship???? Destined to burn out quickly. A WHIRLWIND. They were funny, though!

I AGREE WITH ALL THE JILY *waves JILY FLAG*

lissen. we love a good 'she hated him' 'nah she didn't' relationship !!!!

THINK OF THE BANTER!!! THE BANTER

Maybe it's because I hate romance but the thought of them loving each other forever and having to read about that literally makes me want to convulse. So the fact that it wasn't all fun 'n games right off the beater's back keeps me very content. thank u, next.

kayquilz 02-16-2019 03:55 PM

I know this is unpopular but...

I always loved Ron and Hermione ;__; I thought JK did such a good job writing their relationship from the little hints near the beginning of the series and their gradual fall into liking each other (probably driven by Lavender). They're different and I think they would play off of each other's differences really well REGARDLESS OF WHAT OTHERS SAY. *HMPH*

I love a good enemies to friends to lovers relationship!!! And Jily is my favourite of them all.

I definitely blame Lauren for stoking that fire. :xd:

I DEFINITELY prefer Romione over Harmony. To me, Harmony was always just SO platonic. Maybe there were a few moments where they could have explored the option of dating.....but I think it was clear to Harry that Hermione had feelings for Ron, maybe even before she realised herself. I think they work best as best friends. They love each other...but platonically.

Whereas, Ron and Hermione's personalities compliment each other. They CHALLENGE each other.

UGH. THEY'RE SO GOOD. :x3:

Charely Potter 02-17-2019 04:24 AM

Harry/Ginny is my favorite ship (ignoring the film version). Once Ginny matured and seen past her once starstuck view of Harry, she essentially revealed her true self matching Harry. She was confident, strong, also faced similar family horrors along with being possessed by Voldermort. She had the guts to not only challenge others but even Harry when necessary. It took him a while to see this side of Ginny, being in separate years and having different circle of friends along with getting over Cho, Harry realized that she was the one. Ginny meanwhile, really saw that Harry isn't just a hero but someone she can find the comfort in. Having been around her older brothers alot she developed a tough skin and didn't like being coddled (Dean) and had the self-confidence to not fawn after someone with ego (Michael). Harry really treated her the way she wanted to be treated, not as a victim and not as someone to be used. They supported each other and she knew he had alot to carry on his shoulders and was willing to wait for him.

I full heartedly support Ron/Hermione, they were drawn to be similar to Ron's own parents with their arguments in the books. They're both very passionate and strong-willed characters. Ron isn't afraid to express his thoughts and neither is Hermione. They essentially balance each other out with overlooking each other's flaws (Ron can come off as insensitive at times, Hermione can be stubborn and hard to convince) and praising their strengths (Ron working through his insecurities to play Quidditch well and defend Tonks on the broomride impressed Hermione, and of course Hermione's intelligence is something Ron always admires). It's all about their energies. I feel Hermione would've worn out Harry who is strong willed as well but doesn't have enough interest to challenge her in the same way.

I completely agree with everything you said here!

But especially:

Quote:

[Ginny] didn't like being coddled (Dean) and had the self-confidence to not fawn after someone with ego (Michael). Harry really treated her the way she wanted to be treated, not as a victim and not as someone to be used.
I've always loved Ginny more than Harry, which is probably why I overlook this ship a lot. She knows what she wants and what she doesn't want, and she isn't afraid to stand up for herself and others. She reminds me a lot of Lily, which I guess she's supposed to? You can definitely see why they're both in Gryffindor.

Quote:

#THIS!!!!!! It is all about energies.

I definitely feel that Harry and Hermione wouldn't have lasted for the same reasons you said.
