that was nice! good one!! somehow, it doesn't seem to follow your other poems though...

I (used to) write poems too, and mine are mostly about love and all that mushy stuff. All about heartbreaks though. I think I wrote most of my poems in 1 year. Between the ages of 13-14, when puppy love for me was at an all-time high.. *coughreadmythreadcough* :

Yeah it didn't really go well with my other poems, don't worry you're not the only one who thought that. I think that's why I don't have a problem liking it...And yes, I will read your thread.

Oh, wow, you've updated with lots of poems! I really like these one too, I wish I could write half as well as you And all the lovely Green Day-ness makes me smile while reading them.

And it's become such an incorporation into my writing that I hardly even notice it's there. And making people smile is what it's all about, right? I mean, if a poem doesn't make me smile, I don't publish it...I particularly like the one called fanaticism, because well, I'm going to let you guess there...
There's one that my friend wrote, which I know who she wrote it about, it's a friend of both of ours, but no more shall I say. It's something she wrote in like thirty seconds in class.

I am the one
Who walks right behind you
Do you care?
Who trips over her shoe
Just not to lose you
Do you care?
Dropping her books
So you'll turn around
Catching your eye
And flashing a smile
Just wondering if you
Think I look cool today
Yeah, I doubt you care.

Wasted Seed (The Lesser of Two Evils)
Speak not until you are
spoken to
or better yet wait 'til
the listener is dead
breathe not until you are
breathed into
though your garments seem not to
permit so don't bother
think not until you are
inquired of
but not too much lest
your head should implode
after all that's what
we're here for - you could never
bear such a great load
how hard is it to keep
your back straight, anyway?
Remember to be whoever you want
whatever you want
but don't laugh at me,
and don't tempt me
because I can't control
my submission
Just make sure you
stay pure
but don't contradict
what I ask you
and last but not least
you are here just for me
so don't worry about anything
or anybody else

Yeah...

I've got two lovely little things here...

You Without Me
What will you say about me
when I leave?
Will it be something
worth hearing?
Or will you forget about me
altogether
lost in the moment
you're sharing?
I place no blame it it's
this that you do
I haven't had such
good fortune
To bring me the same
companion as you
But it's just something that
I've been wond'ring

How will I find you
when I return?
Will you remember
I'm gone?
Surely you weren't missing
me after all
I wont be gone
too long
Will the look on your face be
one of relief?
Or will it be
something else?
Resentment?

And the next one isn't an original poem...it's an adaptation of the song, Chump (by Green Day, of course...). The song is about hating a guy you don't even know because he has the girl that you've got your eyes on. My adaptation is about loving (?) a guy who doesn't even know you...

Untitled Chump Adaptation
I don't know you...
but, I think I LOVE you
You're the reason for my happiness
Strange how you've become
the object of daydreams
and you've never even seen
my face

Maybe it's just obsession
mixing up with a naïve
mind
A circumstance that doesn't
fit too well
or maybe I'm just dumb

You're the sung glowing bright
above my head
Light comes smiling down
warming my face
Magic man, ever humble
Perfect man
And you've always got one over
on me

The caption I put below the poem on the paper where I wrote it:
Wann hear how sad I am? I adapted the man's song about hating someone you don't know into a poem about loving someone who doesn't know you...about him.

If you wanna know the original lyrics to the song, you can go to http://greendayauthority.com/Lyrics/ . The song is on the album, Dookie. There is no more direct link...

Hey, the chump adaptation is how I am with Oliver Phelps I like the previous one too. Sad... I feel that way sometimes, worrying too much. Then I get over it, and say I really don't care... lol

Yeah well I wasn't really depressed or anything with the first one, but I've got this friend who like totally liked our other friend for awhile and it turned out he liked her too and I wondered what it would be like if they hooked up. But the Billie thing, with me, I think is a bit sadder than your Oliver thing because, well, he's 19 years older than me, married, and with two sons...oh well. Can't win every battle. Can't pick who we fall for, huh?

A bunch of random musings...most of them poems that were never finished, either because they lost their original direction or I lost their feeling...

#1
Trying not to fit in
stryggling to stand out
but not wanting to be alone
caught up in the disillusion
that loneliness is a chosen state
of the mind I lost way back
when pink was cool and I hated black
father time: can I have those days back?
Or were they never lost? I'm nauseous
it seems, as I go on
and see my dreams
that they have not
but still I wonder
where they might be hiding

My inclination
to indecision
dare to be bold
until you've
banged your head in
trying to be heard
sick of no action
and too mad reaction
[/end spark]

#2
People like me don't have a place
don't have a time
don't have a face
but we all know who we are
and where we're going
and in who's place
there's just one thing that makes me sick
it's the one thing that I'm never allowing
[and shall never be revealed..hmph...]

#3
Did you hear me crying just now
or has my voice betrayed me?
A hot façade of rebellious angst
but inside the tears roll down to my heard
drowning what's left of the motivation
that was never there in the first place

If you payed attention
just paused for a moment
and took a breath
you would see, my own breath
came in weak sobs
[/end sadness]

#4(this one's almost a poem)
My inspiration
lies to me
in its best
poetic deception
blinded me
from all I see
I've lost my
good perception
I've been lead in
the wrong direcion
And I don't know where I'm going
so I've no idea which way to turn
I just know that
I'm nowhere near
where I started from
[which is?...]

#5
Hearts drawn in the margins
filling up the wasted page
upon which I state my marvels
at the humble and the brave
knowing of no unseed motive
scratching words out on the page
words that somehow turn to poems
as I let my mind unfurl

Ridiculously hypocratic
rituals of self-indulgence
linger in my moronic behaviour
dripping with psychotic blood
[/I might actually finish this yet...[/u]

And yeah, that's it...#s 4 and 5 were written yesterday....I was really bored in chemistry and french...(at least I didn't fall asleep in chemistry...). I have found a bunch of old musings from a couple years ago that I may put up here in a bit, but this should be enough for you people to chew on for now...

those are pretty cool.... even if they weren't really finished, i think i kinda see where you were going with each one of them. but hey poetry doesn't mean it has to end a certain way. say, maybe you're just leaving the rest to our imagination....

Haha, I like the reversed Chump Adaption, I was just listening to that song before I came online. All the other ones are really good also, and I particularly like numbers one, four, and five from the unfinished ones. Um, yeah, I'm really tired right now for some reason as it's not even that late and don't know what else to say. I'll read them again tomorrow Boredom in school sucks, I normally just write random Green Day lyrics all over my notebooks instead of awesome poetry like you. Only sixteen more days for me, and it's amazing that I don't fall asleep in class either...

Somehow, awesome's not quite the adjective I would have used...deranged...moronic...sad, perhaps...awesome, not so much. And I, too, write Green Day lyrics all over the place. And I mean all over the place. It's just that sometimes Green Day turns into Kori Day and somehow...into a poem.

You're just like me! Except my inspiration comes more from sappy love songs. Either way, we both write about sadness and such... Except for the last 2 I wrote. Have you read "My Addiction" in my thread?? hehe I was bored at work, and I thought I'd kinda poke fun at my "addiction".

Lol yes I read it. I never thought of my poems as being sad, lol. But I guess that's just because even though the ideas I'm writing about are sad things, I've always thought of the poems themselves as being meant to turn those things around. Um...here:

The following is direct from my notebook.

In poem, sonnet, and in song,
the great Bards of the language have tried so long
to put into the prison of rhythm and rhyme
the sweetness of love and loss in due time
but faint are those words in comparison to
the glow of one thing so deep and so true
In bloom, a blossom so sweet and so fair
One might be moved to take too much care
to spoil the fragile blossom so
in faintest weather it ceases to grow
when it wilts, the view is more beautiful still
that be you a novice or one with great skill
it burns to the core at the mem'ry of things lost
you forget for a moment that this is the cost
of free will, and that this thing is love

I don't know where that came from. I've never been in a relationship. And I've never (truly) been in love. Unless you call fanaticism and celebrity obsession in the worst way, love. I certainly don't. I had the first two liness in my head and I decided to put my foot down and actually write the good things that come to my head for once. It seems like I write often, but not nearly often enough. Most of the stuff that's actually written down is crap anyway. It's just a product of a bored and overactive mind.

/journal entry.

*blushes* Considering I've never actually been in love....well, I guess that could mean that it would be untainted in my eyes...I suppose. Um...I've nothing further to add at this moment. 'Cept that I just saw Revenge of the Sith. Maybe that could mean more poetry....perhaps.

I think the reading of Romeo and Juliet in English class tainted that one a bit. I'm surprised it has been so...well-recieved.

I haven't read Romeo and Juliet yet, but I think the love that they feel it's a little.......false. But Who am I to say??

But I like your poem.
