| Sickly Pale Brilliance Thanks Leah Your poems are nice too, so you have nothing to worry about. :cat: ~~~~~~~~~~~~ -- Sickly Pale Brilliance -- Paint yourself in the most vibrant colours Use that acid green and clash it against majestic purple Keep away from those darker shades (They make you look pale) Hang up your work in an exhibition Invite everybody to come; Let them awe at your breath-taking genius While collecting entrance fees behind their backs. It never was easier to get stinking rich. Buy even stronger turquoise and sunny yellow Make yourself another new identity Drip crimson red on your black heart Splash royal blue over your dead eyes Give it all a finishing touch with the gold brush. But, please, don't expect me to come. I refuse to spend my poor salary On lies that are sold as the truth. Cash is too hard to come by these days So understand that I won't waste it on you. You must be aware of the fact That I see through the façade Remember: I knew you before I knew myself And I have not forgotten all you are Is a smudged black and white drawing. You are as transparent as a ghost. But you don't haunt me (Not anymore) If I traced my finger over your paintings We both know the colours would come off I could give your audience the chance To see you in a new light If I tugged at the paper a bit We both know it would tear in two You are cheap, you are fake You are an imitation (Your lies are paper thin) It would take very little from my part To bring your carefully constructed multicoloured world down Aren't you afraid of that? I could wrench your tales apart if people listened And if I had the money to enter your exhibition of lies.

Here, in my fantasy world
I can dream
I don't have to see destruction
I don't have to see despair
I don't have to see fight
It's shut away
I love this paragraph of yours. Thanx for the comments I really appreciate it.

| Checkmate Thank you both so very much! Yes, anybody can post poetry in this forum, Harry Potter related or not Here is another one, my most recent poem. I like it. Kinda.
:cat:
~~~~~~~~~~ Checkmate No, I have not figured it out yet I have problems when it comes to defining you. Things are usually kept in black or white But I'm unable to place you on a chess board. You are grey. And I can't fit you into my concept of this world. Where am I supposed to put you? You deny me the right to checkmate your king Because you have none. Ghostly shadows surround your pulsing aura Misty fogs obscure your shapes and forms You never say what is right You never say what is wrong Maybe you are just undecided. You frighten me; You are a silk-wrapped stone mystery.
| Tequila Sunrise -- Tequila Sunrise -- A dusky sky of rising dawn Filters rays of light through carelessly closed blinds The sun won't wait for your headache to pass. She never really has, never will care But maybe the moon does? How would you know though, When you only see what you want to And opaque darkness is nothing to your eyes. Learn to cope with being alone then And remember for one of the next times: Drinking simply does that to you. Nothing tragic, it started off with a Lager The glass was topped up a couple of times By the waitress in the silver bikini. Not that you looked at her of course But she was more of a sun than I can ever be. Why you ordered that drink in the first place still mystifies me You hate the taste of beer. But across the room, others were drinking it And they seemed to be having fun, right? As if a drink could swallow your misery, honey You knew it was stupid to think so. No drink of the world can do that, and you'll say I'm right You learnt the hard way And no light crept into the shabby darkness of the bar Or into your mixture of Chardonnay, Vodka, Mai Tai Strawberry Limes, and a shot of ginger Whiskey Served in a long glass with ice, a green umbrella And a slice of lemon. Things didn't look any better They stayed sour. It was after your fourth shot of Tequila Sunrise —Beautiful colours if I may say so— That I thought it was enough and took you home. I doubt you really noticed. Everything was so dark, you told me; I asked you if you ever marvelled at the beauty of a night sky. Only the sun, you said. But she has set for good now She won't come back, no matter how often you drink Tequila Sunrise in memory of those days. I'm here for you, but you don't see me; I don't have her shine. I try and replace her the best I can But all I can show you are pale moons And small diamonds in the black sky. So that's why you find yourself alone in bed With a hangover, and nobody at your side. It will give you time to think. And when you get up, I hope you'll find the note I left you My phone number is on the back. Call me if you want to meet me at sunset When the moon comes up.
