AN: Yay! I'm glad Wikipedia didn't fail me! Here is the first part of Chapter 38, I have hit a bit of a block that I am working through, but I wanted to give you guys what i have so far!

Chapter 38: Draco Malfoy

“We have little less than a month, everyone.” Minerva randomly announced that night over supper.

“Less than a month till what?” Ron asked, his mouth full, mashed potatoes spilling out.

“Close your mouth when you eat Mr. Weasley! There is no need to shove it that full!” Minerva looked at him in disgust and handed him a napkin as he shrugged and looked around the table, as if asking, “What did I do now?”

“Until school starts again of course.” Minerva continued after she was satisfied Ron’s manners were up to snuff.

“Oh, yeah, that.” Ron’s mood turned instantly sour, once again reminded that he didn’t know who had gotten Head Boy over him, and he mentioned as much grumbling into his plate, stabbing his roast much harder then what was necessary.

“Oh quite your gripping already, didn’t he tell you, it’s Mr. Potter.” Moody growled out, hating a whiner more than anything

“What?!” Ron’s jaw dropped, unfortunately his mouth was still full of food, which cascaded out unnoticed by him into his lap.

“MR. WEASLEY!” Minerva bellowed over everyone, “act your age, or I will make the proper changes!

Ron managed to close his mouth, but he could not wipe the hurt from his face as he stared at his friend. “Why didn’t you tell me?” He whispered pathetically.

“Because,” Harry hissed, simultaneously not wanting to create a scene and yet wishing he could blast Moody into the floor, “I was going to, but you kept on an on about how you were angry that someone else had gotten it over you, then when I had a chance to talk to you alone, all of this other started up!” Harry’s voice, that had started off as a harsh whisper was now to the point of a yell. He stopped, breathing heavy, waiting for Ron’s response.

“Oh, yeah well, that makes sense. You could have told me though, mate. I’m happy for you, I really am.” He even managed a small smile to show there were no hard feelings.

Harry didn’t buy it, but he decided to let it go for the moment, they would talk about it again, he was sure.

“Now that is settled,” Minerva continued, irritated that the discussion had gotten so far off topic, “we have some things to learn before classes start, and things to buy in Diagon Alley, and of course, there is still the issue of Mr. Malfoy, who I must add has still not gained consciousness.” She paused for a moment to take a drink of her pumpkin juice, allowing Moody to take over.

“As has been already decided, and I think most of you know, because Snape has become very adept at legillimacy, we have decided it to be in the best interest of everyone to study occlumency. Harry has already had some training, but he and Snape didn’t get very far.” Moody stopped to let Minerva continue.

“We feel that we might be able to use some legillimacy on Draco, to see if we can get inside his head and figure out why he will not awaken.” She looked around the room before continuing.

“This exercise would be beneficial not only to the students returning to Hogwarts, but also to the adults as well, we encourage everyone to take part.”

The people around the room slowly nodded their heads in agreement. Harry looked around the room and caught the eye of Minerva who gave him a meaningful look before saying, “Harry when you are finished can you please come with me.”

Harry placed his napkin on the table and stood, nodding to the rest he followed Minerva out of the room.

Great post!!! I wonder what Minerva has to talk to Harry about. I also wonder why Malfoy hasnt awaken. Could Snape have anything to do with this? I wouldnt put it past him Dont worry about your writers block. We all know ho much those suck You will get out of it eventually with another great post Hope it goes away quickly so I can read more soon PAMS!

Yes Snape has something, very remote, to do with this, but it is not magical, if that makes any sense I am working through my block, I have some really great ideas, but I am swamped with school at the moment. Finals are this week and next, I have to right 2 more essays and 3 small papers and then I am done till August!! No Summer School for me this Year, I have decided! Too stressful! So after next Monday (one week from today!) then I am all yours for writing!
Not much longer to wait...I promise!

Thanks! I have finished the smaller papers and only have the bigger one to write which I will probably procrastinate on and leave till the weekend then on Monday is my final, which is ANOTHER essay, and then I am done! And don't worry, I have every hope to finish my story before July. I want to be unbiased by the happenings of the final book, and I WILL buy it the day it comes out and read it right away, so this will be done by then! Maybe I will do another one after I read the last book *shakes head to get out of daydream* must finish this one before even considering another one

Continue Chapter 38: Draco Malfoy

He struggled to keep up with Minerva’s fast pace as she strode deeper into the huge house.

She finally stopped in front of a plain oak door and slowly waved her wand over the door, mumbling in audibly.
The door suddenly began to change and melt away until there was a narrow arch way that Harry had to almost turn sideways to squeeze through. As soon as he was through, the door immediately began to right itself until it was once again, a plain sold oak door.

He entered the room, looking around and all of the gadgets that lined the surgically clean room. In the middle of the large room who could see a flat table with a person laying on it. Seeing the white blond hair, Harry immediately knew this was Draco, although he suspected it before he had even reached the room.

He reached Minerva’s side as she stood next to the table, staring down at the boy it held.

“Why won’t he wake up, Professor?” He asked surprised at how much his voice echoed off the sleek walls.

“We don’t know Harry.” Minerva said quietly as though not wanting to wake the boy who looked like he could simply be slumbering. “That’s why we need your help?”

Harry frowned, “What can I do?” he asked incredulously.

Minerva sighed, “You have studied with one of the greatest Occlumens and Legilimens that our world has ever seen. You are far greater than you give yourself credit for, or even realize I suspect.” Minerva paused a moment as she conjured a chair and a stool. “I need…we need you to get into Draco’s mind and talk to him. We suspect that he has experienced a great trauma, and has locked himself into his own mind for protection. We need you to coax him out.”

“Yeah right!” Harry scoffed, “Draco hates me, there is no way if I bombard into his mind that he will willingly come out. You would have better luck with using one of his cronies.”

“That is what makes this such a difficult task.” Minerva said, her eyes boring into Harry’s, making him slightly uncomfortable. “They are not as good as you are, and they can not be controlled or trusted in a situation like this. You are the only one.” She continued to stare at him, trying to impress upon him the need for success. “He has information that could be vital for our success.”

“You are basing all of this on an uncertain ‘could’ Minerva.” Harry said staring back, no longer phased by her gaze. “But I guess it won’t hurt to try.” He said as he settled himself into the stool.
He wasn’t sure how to began, so he leaned forward and grabbed Draco’s head in his hands, his temples underneath Harry’s palms. He stared intently at the top of Draco’s head for a moment, and then suddenly his eyes rolled back into his head as they closed.

Wow! This is getting very intense!!!! So glad U R back and feeling better Julie!!!! And by the way, we have red, grey and black squirrels here...had one old one (red) cuss me out real good today from his tree....came within two feet of me with a nut in his mouth, a missing ear and a mostly healed wound behind his front left paw! Even with the nut in his mouth he kept scoulding me...if it hadn't been for the fact that he HAD the big nut in his mouth, I might have been a bit worried that he was going to attack me or something he came so close!!!! I was checking out plants at the arb when I musta got too close to his tree!!!! He didn't like it one bit!!!! Musta been pretty old, I think, because he was so beat up yet scrappy as the dickens!!! Can't wait for the nest post!!!

That is too funny! I'm glad he didn't try to attack you, what with those vicious front teeth that they have, that would have been painful, not to mention dangerous! We have grey squirrels here with their huge bushy tails and then little brown squirrels that almost look like small chipmunks instead of squirrels. I have been cussed out a few times from the grey squirrels, but I have never seen such an old battle hardened squirrel, the ones here unfortunately usually get hit by cars before they get so old They like to tease my cats who watch them from the window, They drive my cats to distraction with their antics, that's what gave me the idea to have them be the twins animagus'!

I am writing right now, so it shouldn't be too long today before I get a post out!

Hey, it's good to see you back and feeling better. Haven't been on here in a while. Skool kept me busy. Those were some lovely posts. I really want to know what's inside Draco's head.

AN: Thanks Roshni! I am feeling much better, I still have a cough, but I feel much more the thing now! School is almost out, I have my final on Monday and then I am done! I have one more essay to write, and one to prepare for, but I am almost free! This chapter is exceedingly long, so I am doing it in sections, so here is the next part of the chapter, just to remind you, we are still chapter 38: Draco Malfoy! Enjoy! Just to for warn you, the italicized in this chapter is not a memory, it is just not reality, it is inside Draco's head

Harry opened his eyes, and was surprised to find the room was pitch black. He frowned as he stood in one spot, afraid to move for fear of running into something.

A faint hint of sound floated his way, as elusive as the breeze. The music was soft, but he couldn’t hear it loud enough to tell what it was.

He stood there, straining his ears to hear the sweet music, as it grew gradually louder. It sounded almost like Blues, a type of muggle music that he had got Dudley Swaying to one day, wearing a pair of thick black glasses, an unlit cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Harry had giggle, alerting Dudley of his presence, who had turned red enough to rival his father, Harry however, did not stop laughing, even during the beating.

A small rose to his lips as he thought about that day.

As the music had grown stronger, a light on the opposite end of the room had also begun faintly, gaining brightness. Harry could see on object in the light, but couldn’t tell what it was.

He made his way cautiously and carefully forward coming ever closer to the light when suddenly a voice caused him to stop.

The voice was singing in a soft, rich baritone, and while Harry could not make out the words, the sadness of the singer was apparent in his voice.

Mesmerized, Harry continued forward. He could now see the faint out line of a platform, the object in the center of the light, a microphone on a stand.

Harry furrowed his brow in confusion. As he approached he could see the outlines of a White Grand Piano and a band playing in the background. The skill of the pianist was unsurpassed, but the elusive vocalist remained to be seen.

He stared at the faint outlines of the piano and the band, now realizing that the voice singing was not actually singing any words, just sounds, similar to humming.

Suddenly the music stopped and the lights went out, everything was black again. Harry was about to call out when just as unexpectedly the spotlight on the microphone came back on. A man now standing behind it, his back to Harry, is head down.

The man was wearing a slick, pinstripe black three piece suite, with a black hat, similar to the ones worn in the 20’s and 30’s by muggles, complete with black and white patented leather shoes. The entire ensemble was very catching a reminded Harry of the glimpses of 20’s gangster movies where the men wore Zoot suits, but the suit part was much more tight fitting than it was baggy.

The man began to sing lowly again, and Harry could feel his excitement building at the thought of finally seeing the face of the singer with such a haunting voice.

The singers head was bent slightly; suddenly he started snapping in time with the beat of the music. Harry realized that there was no longer a piano accompaniment, meaning he had been the superb pianist as well.

Harry stared up at the man in awe of his skills, when the man abruptly turned around and stepped fully into the spot light, and began to sing into the microphone.

He seemed unfazed from Harry’s audible gasp as he stumbled backward, falling into a chair that had not been there moments before. Harry looked around and realized, that while he was still the only one in the room besides the singer and his band, the room was now filled with round tables and chair, even a bar in the back, the light glinting off the bottles of whisky against the bars back wall.

Harry stared into the face of Draco Malfoy, who still was not aware that Harry was even there.

“What is going on here?” Harry asked himself, almost inaudibly, but Draco appeared to hear that small sound.

He stopped singing and abruptly looked up, “What are you doing here? This is a closed rehearsal, get out!” He snapped his fingers once, and two huge bouncers materialized out of thin air, catching Harry off guard. They hooked their arms under his, and dragged him out of the room, ignoring his protests, throwing him roughly out the door.

Harry fell out of his chair as he opened his eyes, jumping up just as suddenly, startling Minerva.

“Mr. Potter!?” She asked, her hand fluttering at her chest, “What happened?!”

“Crabb and Goyle bouncers just threw me out of Draco’s mind.” Harry said, wearily placing his head in his hands. “He quickly told Minerva what he had seen, and was surprised to hear her giggle. He looked up at her questioningly.

“It is interesting to see what one sees them at when they think they are alone in their minds.” Minerva said a twinkle in her eye.

Harry silently resolved to protect his mind better when he was sleeping.

“Well, go on Harry, you must try again.” She urged him.

Harry sighed, and again put his hands on Draco’s head, his eyes rolling back into his head once more.

I am so glad you guys liked it I have the next part of the chapter ready so because you two are so awesome, I dedicate this post to you both! Again, the italicized parts are in Draco's mind...

He opened his eyes, shocked to her lots of laughing voices. He squinted his eyes against the bright lights, and as his eyes adjusted, he realized that he was outside.

It was a hot summer day, the sun shinning brightly, not a cloud in the sky. He looked around and realized that he was at some type of carnival. All around him he could here the shouts from the carnies advertising their particular games.

He began to slowly walk through the crowds, looking at the different games, wondering what was going on. Suddenly he stopped realizing that every laughing person at this carnival was death Eaters, many of which had died the first go round with Voldemort.

He gasped as one by one, as he passed them the carnies quieted, and the patrons turned and stared at him, all with almost identical sneers on their faces.

He saw a shadow on the ground in front of him, and realized that the sky was fast turning cloudy.

He continued on however, innerved by the silence of the place as he passed each booth.

A light drizzle started, and as if on cue, every person that he had passes so far pulled out umbrellas and opened them, their sneers never leaving their faces. Harry got the impression that they were all just marionette puppets, a greater power controlling their strings.

He reached the end of the Midway and realized that there was one stand that the inhabitants hadn’t stopped to sneer at him.

He made his way over to see a small boy throwing balls at a figure. He could see that every time the ball hit the object it would turn and go in the opposite direction.

As he got closer, he realized that the small boy was actually Kreature and the object he was throwing the balls at was Draco.

The rain began to come down thicker as Harry stepped up directly behind Kreature.

“Kreature, stop!” He said in a demanding voice.

Kreature turned and looked up at him and simply began to laugh. “Your demands don’t work in here.” He said shaking his head as he turned around to resume pegging Draco.

“Kreature stop!” Harry said again, this time grabbing Kreature’s arm as he pulled back to launch another ball.

Kreature stopped and turned and said in a cold voice, “Let go of my arm.” Harry drew back in surprise, bumbing into someone. He turned and realized that everyone had gathered directly behind him.

He gulped softly as he said, “Draco, come down from there, come with me.” Draco turned and looked at him, his eyes pleading with Harry, but he said nothing.

Harry pushed passed Kreature and made to jump up on the counter to grab Draco, when suddenly a man stepped front of him and growled in his face.

“What on earth?” Harry asked incredulously, until he realized that the man was Fenrir Greyback. He immediately jumped backwards to avoid the man’s chomping teeth, and slammed into Bellatrix Lestrange.

“Let me hold him for you dear.” She said in a sickeningly sweet voice.

“Please do.” Grey back said on a growl. As he closed in, Harry yelled “No!”

Once again Harry fell out of his chair and jerked his eyes open.

“What happened this time?” Minerva asked, concern etched on her face.

“I really need to stop doing that.” Harry complained as he rubbed his leg, sore from falling so hard out of the chair. He quickly told her what he had seen.

“Hmm,” she murmured, “This is getting very interesting.

“For you!” Harry yelled, “You’re not the one experiencing it!” His voice was high pitched, and he struggled to bring it back down. “I need something to drink.” He said sulkily, rubbing his head.

Minerva waved her wand and handed him a bottle of Butterbeer that seemed a bit stronger than usual.

As he finished on a sigh, he looked up and saw the purposeful look on Minerva’s face.

“I know, I know.” Harry said, frowning intensely as he leaned forward and once again, rather roughly this time, grabbed Draco’s head

I'm glad you liked it I wanted it to be serious at first, but then I kept getting these weird images in my mind about things, and the other day I saw part of the movie, "Being John Malkovich" and I thought it was so comical, I decided to do something similar to that, although I couldn't picture everyone saying, "Malfoy Malfoy, Malfoy, malfoy Malfoy!" I hope you have seen that movie, or you are going to think I am very weird indeed there is one more in Draco's mind part after this one. I will probably post it either later today or tomorrow.

Just to let everyone know, the story is just over half way finished, we are over the hump!

I think I was going into fits by not being able to read your story with all it's awesomeness!!!:techni: :heart2: :techni: ............I really like you take on Draco's mind. The first was great! I think those fantasy about singing in the 40's with all the jazz and blues are the funniest. I think Draco was being a jive turkey tho! .......The carnie situation was my fav. I like the idea of him being lost and tortured by the people he tried to be like or around. I sound evil or demented. I don't mean too. I just think that with the way you wrote that vision. It let's you in on the how and the why somewhat that keeps him in his own mind. I have thought of a couple of senerios as to this but a last, I will wait until the next visions is made clear before I tell you what I think. If I told you and everyone now it would either make me look like a fool or I might slip up and get some of it right. With this being an awesome part to the Greatest Story Ever Written. I would not want to spoil it for myself and everyone else. Anyway ....... I can't wait for the next to come up!! I really really really really really really really want to read it!! HE! HA! HE! HA! I have another post to put on today Thank you so much for the I certainly needed it. I am not entirely happy with the essay that I wrote (in class, we were only given 50 minutes We new the literary work we would be writting about, but we had to anticipate the prompt, and I anticipated wrong But all in all, I think I did alright, we will see though, won't we! *crosses fingers and prays for the best!* I also had another essay that we did at home that was due yesterday as well, thus why I wasn't on here (or ACC) at all this weekend! I love the olympic smilies too!!!!
You are so awesomly sweet! Glad to see you back again, I was getting worried I completely know how it is, growing up sucks! What with work and never ending school, I always feel terrible when I plan on posting and then run out of time, if they could just make a few extra hours in the day, I think I would be ok! And don't worry, I won't quit the story, at least not till it is finished I am thinking that after the seventh book I might do another fic, but who knows
