Chapter 5: First Day of Lessons


I wake up on September 2, 1995 in my bed around 7 o' clock in the morning and my friends already went down to the Great Hall for breakfast. I rise out bed yawning rembering the dream I just had before I woke up. I get up and get dressed within 5 within after I get up. Then I head down to breakfast and I exit the Ravenclaw House Tower. I have to watch for the trick step that I always almost forget is there on the way down to the Great Hall.

Within 10 minutes, I enter the Great Hall and I go straight to the Ravenclaw House Table. I sit down next to my friends and across from Luna Lovegood, who is a year below me. I put on my plate scrambled eggs, bacon, and butter toast and to drink I pour myself a gobletful of pumpkin juice. I start eating and drinking. I look at the staff table and I see Professor Snape giving me the most evil of stares. I watch hhim avidly, but I don't want to know that I am watching him. I continue eating as I start to stop looking at Snape at the staff table.

I hear Draco's voice echoing in the Great Hall saying to his friends, "Look at that Isabella Black. She is the one who gave me this black eye and boy she is going to pay for what she done very dearly. She hit me and I am Prefect. I am going to make her life a living hell like Harry Potter and his two friends, Ronald wealsey and that jumped up Mud-blood, Hermione Granger."

I don't want want to listen to Draco's voice any longer and I try to block it out. I continue to eat and drink. I start to to talk to my friends. After we ate our breakfast in the Great Hall, my friends and I get our course schedules. Our 1st class is Potions with Professor Snape.


My friends and I head to Potions class down in the dungoens. We get there to the dungeons with the Hufflepuffs 5th waiting. Professor Snape is waiting for us to enter the classroom. Professor Snape says to everyone after everyone takes their seats, "This year you will taking your O.W.L.s and I want everyone here to pass because I don't take students that do not pass their potions O.W.L. into their N.E.W.T. level next year. In this lesson you make the Draught of Peace. Please read the intructions on the blackboard. Off to work all of you. Can someone tell me this potion you are about to make does?" I raise my hand in the air. Snape says in a cold voice to me, "Yes, Miss Black. Do you know the answer to my question?" I reply back to him, "Yes, professor. I do. Draught of Peace is a potion that clams aniexty and soothes agitation, sir." Professor Snape doesn't care that if I answer his question because he does not give any house points for getting the question right and he says, "Now get to work." I work on the Draught of Peace reading the intructions on the blackboard behind Snape's desk very carefully as I add each ingredient one at time and stirring at the correct time until my potion is perfect. One of my friends, Christina Lane blews up her potion because she didn't stir at the right moment and she didn't follow the directions properly. The potion is all over her clothes, skin and hair and she was a complete mess.

Is she going to tell Harry, Ron, and Hermione that she is Sirius Black's daughter? PAMS please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Professor Snape goes around the class checking everyone's progress and he isn't too happy with my frined, Christina Lane. He gives her a detention. Next the he come to me and sees that my potion is the exact shade and consistency of what of what the potion is supposed to look like. Snape has me put my potion in a vial. At the end of the lesson Professor Snape has everyone expect my friend, Christina Lane, who gets a zero today to hand in a vial of Draught of Peace to him on his desk. After that everyone had put their vials on Snape's desk, we were let from the class and us Ravenclaw 5th years head to Charms and the Hufflepuffs head to Defense Against the Dark Arts class with Profesor Dolores Umbridge. I went to charms with my best friends and the rest of the Ravenclaws 5th years as well. I enter the Charms classroom and I go sit down with my friends, Christina, Azura, and Padma during the 1st lesson of charms of the new school term. Professor Flitwick, who taught Charms and was head of the Ravenclaw House announced as everyone took their seats abd sat down, "Welcome back class. This is your O.W.L. year. So everyone I suppect you can pass this class with an 'O', 'E' or an 'A'. I am going to teach the Engorgio spell. everyone swish and flick. Right in front of you is a small button ans I wnat you class to make it bigger. Ready. Say, 'Engorgio.'" I point my wand at the small button ans say, "Engorgio." and the button gets to the size of a hubcap. It keeps getting bigger. I yell for Professor Flitwick's attention and he comes over to me. He asks me, "What is wrong, Miss Black?" I reply, "My button won't stop growing. Can you help me make it smaller" Professor Flitwick says to me, "Miss Black point your wand say, 'Reducio' to make it go back to normal." So I do what I am told and I point my wand at the button and say, "Reducio." The button shrunk back to normal. The lesson ends and Profesor Flitwick gives the class homework right before he lets the class go. Now I have homework for Chams and it is an essay.

I got through the rest days lessons. Each teacher gave homework to do. Each one of the teachers keep telling us how important O.W.L.s are this year for our magical education.



Chapter 6: Talking to Harry Potter

During supper my friends and I were sitting near Cho Chang and her friend, Marietta Edgecombie. As I eat my food and drink my pumpkin juice with my friends. Christina Lane says to me, "Izzy, I know that we have been friends for a long time since our 1st year, but something is bothering me." I reply trying not to speak with food in my mouth and start to swallow my food not trying to chokeon it, "Christina, what is it?" Christina says, "I fell like our friendship is strained." I reply, "No, it isn't." I finish my food and leaave the Ravenclaw House table. Then I exit the Great Hall and I head up to the Ravenclaw House Tower. My friends follow suit and they follow me up to the Ravenclaw Tower. I reach the portait and it says, "Password?" I say, "Phoenix." and the portait opens allowing my friends and I to enter the common room. It closes as we enter the common room.

I go up to my dormitory and I get my books so I can work on my homework that was given to me. I come back down from the girl's dormitory and I put my books on the table. I don't want to be bothered by anyone. My friends sit near the fireplace as I sit at the table working on my homework. The fire in the fireplace bbburnt a reddish-orange craackling and making sparks as it made shadows where my friends were sitting. I continue to work on my homework and it is past midnight. The fire had started to burn out making the logs burn into ash. My friends already went up to the dormitory and went to bed. I was getting tired and I start to fall asleep with my head up against the book I was using.



I wake up around 7 o' clock in the morning on September 3, 1995 with my face stuck to page 109 in the book I was working on and my black hair was a mess. I start to rub my eyes realizing that I fell asleep at the table in the common room. I pick up my books and stack them neatly. I get up from the table and take my books up to my dormitory so I can go and get dressed and get changed into clean clothes. I get dressed as fast as possible and I rush down to the Great Hall for breakfast around 7:15 AM. I run into someone, who I need to talk to badly. He is heading to the Great Hall as well. It was Harry Potter and he was alone without his friends, Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley walking with him. It was good that they weren't in the corridor Harry and I were in. I say, "Harry Potter, I have something to tell you and it is about your godfather, Sirius Black." Harry says, "How do you know that Sirius Black is my godfather?" I reply as we continue walking towards the Great Hall together, "I found out from Professor Dumbledore that he is your godfather and I found out on my birthday that he is my father." Harry is shocked as I say this and he says, "How can that be?" I explain the best way I knew how. We reach the Great Hall together, Harry heads to the Gryffindor House Table and I head to the Ravenclaw House Table and I say, "Bye, Harry."

I sit down at the Ravenclaw House Table and started eating my breakfast. My friends are sitting beside wondering why I came in with Harry Potter. So I made up a lie why Harry and I walked into the Great Hall together. I hear Draco making the comment as he yells it over the Great Hall, "Hey, Potter you got yourself a new girlfriend." My face was red and by the look on Harry's face as I looked at him was a very deep loathing. Harry's temper was rising and his friend, Hermione Granger is trying to calm him down.

She tells him that she is Sirius' daughter and she wants to find out more about her father. Sirius doesn't know that he has a daughter because he was Azkaban Prison when she was growing up.

Chapter 7: Trouble In Potions

I couldn't finish my breakfast. My friends and I leave the Great Hall to the dungeons to the Potions lab with Professor Snape. We walk down to the Potions lab down down the winding stairs that lead down to the dungeons. We reach the Potions lab first and we have to wait for Professor Snape and the rest of the Ravenclaw 5th years and Hufflepuff 5th years. Padma was a Prefect and she was one of my closest friends. Anthony Goldstein was the other prefect for Ravenclaw House. It was a good thing that Padma didn't turn me in for punching Draco on the train ride up here. Anthony reached the POtions lab as tired as ever and so was Padma because they were doing their prefect duties last night. Everyone entered the Potions lab after Snape opened the door for us to enter. It was 8 o' clock in the morning and the Potions lesson wasn't going so well for me because I had too many things on my mind. I felt Snape trying to read my mind and I look down at my potions ingredients that I was putting in my cauldron. Snape comes over to me and starts hissing in my ear, "Miss Black, I can figure out who your father is just by looking at you because you look like him a spitting image. He is Sirius Black. The apple doesn't fall fall very from the tree, Miss Black. I knew you father causing so much trouble with his friend, James Potter. They were the ring leaders of their little gang. I went to Hogwarts with them and I was in the same year as them." I listen to Snape as I put the wrong ingredient in the potion. The next thing I know is Snape screaming at me, "YOU STUPID PATHETIC GIRL LOOK AT WHAT YOU DONE." Tears run down my face and I am forced to clean up my mess that i made from putting the wrong ingredient in the potion without magic.

I clean it up and I receive a "ZERO" for today's lesson. I losted 20 house points from Ravenclaw House. The bell rings signaling the next lesson. I pasck up my things and put them in my bag. I leave Potions for Charms lesson.

Chapter 8: Trouble With Umbridge


I am heading to my 1st Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson with Professor Umbridge right after Charms today. When all the Ravenclaw 5th years including myself and my friends get to Professor Umbridge's classroom. We go and sit down in our seats. Professor Umbridge is sitting behind her desk in a fluffy pink cardigan with tri-colored kittens that were playing on the middle of it and in her mousy-brown hair was a pink ribbon that matched the cardigan. She starts her long speech like the one she said during the starting feast before she was to teach the lesson. She stops talking and points on the chalkboard behind her that had the course aims and she says, "Copy them down class, now." Everyone in the class gets a quill, some parchment, and ink to start copying the course aims written on the chalkboard. Then Professor Umbridge wants everyone to read the first chapter of Defensive Magical Theory by Wilbert Slinkhard and she also wants to make sure everyone has a copy of the book. She says, "Begin reading Chapter 1, 'Basics for Beginners' now. No need for talking." Everyone starts reading their Defensive Magical Theory by Wilbert Slinkhard.

Funny thing is I stop reading Chapter 1 and raise my hand. Professor Umbridge looks up from her desk as she sees me raising my hand and she says, "Yes, Miss Black?" The rest of the class looks up from their Defensive Magical Theory books that they were supposed to be reading to watch me and Professor Umbridge go at it. I reply to Professor Umbridge, "I disagree with the course aims that are supposed to taught in this class." Professor Umbridge says, "Oh really, Miss Black. These course aims are guidelines for the Ministery of Magic. Please continue reading your books now." I refuse to continue reading my Defensive Magical Theory and I start to push Professor Umbridge's buttons. She says to me, "Miss Black, why are you not reading your Defensive Magical Theory?" I say, "I think that Wilbert Slinkhard's ideas on defensive magic aren't right." It was still raining outside during the lesson. Professor Umbridge says, "I don't care what you think, Miss Black. See me after class so I can arrange the detentions a whole weeks worth for you." The rest of the class looks at me and Professor Umbridge. The bell rings for the next lesson. I am supposed to go to the Great Hall for lunch.
I tell my friends to go the Great Hall without me. So they leave do and I have to wait for Professor Umbridge to give me the detentions. She calls me over to her desk and she gives me a week's worth of detentions. I have to show up every day starting tomorrow from 5 o' clock until who knows when. Then she lets me leave the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom to go to the Great Hall for lunch. It was 12:30 PM when I leave the classroom and head straight to the Great Hall.

When I reach the Great Hall and I head to the Ravenclaw House table. I got myself into so much trouble already today and I usually don't get into trouble. Finally it has stopped raining because the enchanted ceiling in the Great Hall was clearing up. I sit down at the Ravenclaw table and I eat little bit. My friend, Padma Patil says to me because I sitting right beside her, "Isabella, you got to keep your cool in Umbridge's class. Do you understand me?" I say, "Yes." The next thing is that I have to head to Ancient Runes while the rest of my friends go up to Divination with Professor Trelawney right after lunch. We leave the Great Hall together and when we get to the stais we say good-bye to each other.

I go to the next few lessons that I have and they are Transfiguration, Herbology and History of Magic. I head to Transfiguration and in that lesson I learnt a simple Switching Spell. THe next class I go to is Herbology and in that class we were learning and caring for the Venomous Tentacula. We had to watch for it because it was teething and Professor Spout doesn't want anyone bit. Draco Malfoy is in my Herbology class and he wanted me to get into more trouble than I am already in with Professor Umbridge. Draco was goofing off and he gets himself bit by the Venomous Tentacula. He starts blaming me for it and I know I didn't do it. Professor Spout comes over to investigate what is going on. I tell her what happened and Draco is pointing at his hand that got bit and blood splatters all over the greenhouse floor. Professor Spout tells Draco to go straight to the hospital wing. I tell her that I didn't do it to cause him to get bit. It was his fault for not listening to Professor Spout. The Herbology lesson ends as the bell singals the next lesson. My friends believe me that I didn't cause Draco to get himself bit in the hand.

All the Ravenclaw 5th years head to History of Magic including me and my friends. It is the most boring of all the classes. We enter the classroom and take our seats. Professor Binns, the ghost teacher, starts droning on like an old vaccum that is clogged going on about Giant Wars in the 12th Century. He starts putting the class into a stupor. I start to fall asleep in the class and I start to dream about my fahter, Sirius Black, being caught were he is hiding from the Ministery of Magic. My friend, Azura Thomas nudges me to wake me up to copy some fact or date that Professor Binns has said. I grumble at Azura for waking me up because I was having a dream about my fahter. I copy the fact or date down and I fall asleep again as Professor Binns starts droning on again. At the end of the lesson Professor Binns wants us to discuss: 'The Effects of Giant Wars Have on The Wizarding World'. It has to be 2 parchments length long. The bell rings sigaling the final lesson of the day. Professor Binns lets us leave the classroom.

I haven't written that far yet, but have written up to where she has detentions with Umbridge with Harry.

I give some you all give some info that Harry will end helping Isabella Black to meet her father, Sirius Black, but I don't know how yet cause I haven't that far yet. She has dreams about Sirius that are vivid and realistic in nature when she has them.

Cool! I can't wait for more! PAMS PAMS PAMS!
