Why wouldn't we come back? I mean, if you like a story, and there are bumps in the road (such as not being able to post because of the spoiler ban), you just get over them and forget it when you've passed them.

Hermione paced the small office.

"Where could he be?" She whispered to herself anxiously.

"You know, you only sent me the owl 10 minutes ago." A voice behind her made her jump, but she relaxed when she saw Harry. "Now, what is it about Draco?"

"He's been taken by Bellatrix Lestrange!" Hermione ran to him. "He's going to be tortured!"

"How do you know this Hermione? Maybe he's on a lunch break."

"There was a note.....it's gone now....but it was there! He's being punished for leaving his service to Voldemort!" Hermionealmost burst into tears. "And I don't even know where he is."

"Wait...what happened to the note?" Harry asked, still groggy from the lack of sleep.

"It burned away after I read it. But Harry, it said that I'd be hurt too! That....I'd see him again." Hermione trailed away, thinking. "We've got to do something."

"Hermione, please. It's early Actually, almost lunch time. I'm sure Draco's fine." Harry assured her. "I highly doubt that old Death Eaters are still wandering around London to catch traitors. Voldemort is dead, remember? And if there were any Death Eaters around, I'd be the first to know. I'm an Auror, remember?"

"But Harry-" Harry cut off Hermione's arguement.

"None of that now Hermione. Why don't you go back to the house, and make yourself a cup of tea. And when Draco comes back from his lunch break-which I'm sure he is-he'll be happy to see you. Now, let me go back to sleep."

Harry Disapparated out of Draco's office. Hermione slammed her fists down on the desk in rage and fear. So Harry didn't believe her? What was she going to do now?

Hermione walked out of the office and out of the Ministry. She walked the cold London streets, now bustling with muggles and wizards alike. Hermione stopped at a small bar and ordered a drink. As she sipped the Screwdriver, she thought of Draco, and where he could be.

"Alone?" Hermione jumped at the strange voice. She whirled around on her bar stool to come face to face with an old witch.

"Yes. For now."

"Come here often? I've seen your face before." The hag whispered confidentialy.

"Never seen you. Excuse me please." Hermione was getting uncomfortable and just wanted to leave.

"Are you leaving?"

"Yes-very late-don't have time-"

"Actually, my dear, you have plenty of time." Bellatrix Lestrange threw off her cloak and Stunned Hermione before she realized what was going on.

Harry tumbled into bed the minute he arrived home. After a few hours sleep, he felt ready to get up and apologise to Hermione. He really didn't mean to snap at her. Just then, an owl sailed through his window.

"Damn it, I hate owls." He mumbled, sounding not unlike his Uncle Vernon. He untied the note and it flew away. What it said made Harry's blood run cold.

Harry Potter,

What a naive fool! Yes, I am back in town, and now your precious Hermione Granger has also been taken. Now her and Draco shall suffer together. Unless, of course, you have the nerve and wit to find us.

Every second counts, Harry!

Malfoy Manor is located in a forest, in a clearing, on a hill, where no one can find it. Unless they already know where it is. That was where Draco was. The only problem was....he wasn't alone.

After Bellatrix left, he managed to get a good look at where he was. He was in one of the lower rooms of the house; he could tell by the air. He was by the West Wing, judging by what the window showed him. And he was in trouble, if he was to go by what his heart told him.

This time alone gave him some things to think about. About Harry. About Hermione. He wondered if Hermione was ok.

I wish I could have told her I loved her.... Draco thought to himself. But it was too late now. She could be anywhere. At that bar, the house, with....

Draco stopped himself. She wasn't with Harry. She couldn't be. She loved him.....didn't she?

"I treated her like crap." He muttered to himself.

"Yes you did." A cold voice spoke from near the door. Draco jerked his head up.

"Bella?"

"Correct." She seemed to be carrying something.

"Bella, let me go!"

"I can't do that. They'd be furious at me. By the way, I brought you dinner." She threw the weight down, and left, cackling. Draco dragged himself over to the lump. It was a person!

"What the..." He turned the body over. He gasped. "Hermione!"

Hermione's hair was in a tangle, and it looked like she was sleeping. A Stunning Spell, from the looks of it. Draco gathered her into his arms. He kissed her frozen face.

"I love you Hermione." He concentrated hard on her being. "Ennervate"

She glowed briefly, then fell limp.

"Hermione?"

"Draco? Is that you?" Hermione stirred. "Where am I?"

"In one of the dungeons in my house. Hermione...I think they're going to kill us."

Beside him, Hermione began to weep. Draco put his arms around her.

"Please don't cry honey. It'll be ok. I'll think of something."

"But where's Harry? I told him to save you. Where's Harry? Where's Harry?" Hermione was becoming a silent hysteric. Draco slapped her face. She fell silent except for her crying.

"Forget Harry Hermione. He doesn't know where we are. It's up to us to save ourselves." He kept her in his arms and rocked her to sleep.

Harry burst into the Ministry like a wildfire. He bolted through the door to his office and almost crashed into Miss Woods, his secretayr. She gave him a queer look.

"Harry? Didn't you already do your shift?"

"Yes Elle. Don't ask questions. I need you to pull up the file of Death Eaters still at large." He went into his office before she had a chance to reply. He sat behind his desk, staring into space. A few moments later, Miss Woods poked her head in.

"Harry?"

"Yes Elle?"

"Here's the file."

"Thank you Elle."

"Welcome Harry."

"Sorry if I snapped at you Elle."

"It's ok Harry." The door closed. Harry sighed and pulled the slowly shirinking folder to him. He leafed through it until he came to the name he wanted.

Name: Bellatrix Lestrange
Relationship to Dark Lord: Trusted Associate
Status: Still at Large
Level of Capability: Murder

Harry leaned back in his chair and sighed. This wasn't going to be easy. Now that Bellatrix was back in London anyway. London was crawling with people. So Harry decided to use his brain.

First Malfoy, then Hermione. What was the signifigance? Harry thought the two were connected. Perhaps they captured Hermione only to torture her in front of Malfoy. If that were the case, time was indeed, short. Or vise versa. Either way, time was running out.

Harry sighed again. He was doing that alot lately. Something had to be done, and fast. Hermione was last seen at the Ministry, by Harry himself. So he could not interrogate himself, he knew everything. Hermione was heading to find Malfoy.

Bellatrix could very well know where Voldemort liked to torture his victims. Malfoy Manor. But would she be so stupid as to put them there? It was so obvious! Harry doubted they were there. But where else could they be?

"The Shrieking Shack?" Harry asked himself. There was a possibility. It was close to Hogsmeade, where Bellatrix could send people out for food enough for themselves....and two prisoners.

Harry soon made tracks for Hogsmeade.

Draco had just convinced Hermione to fall asleep when the door banged open. Hermione jerked awake and hid behind Draco.

"Get out of the way Draco." Bellatrix said pleasently to Draco.

"What for?"

"I need to borrow your sl*t for awhile."

"She's not a sl*t!" Draco shouted viciously.

"Oh? then what was she doing jumping all over bars and lap-dancing for older men? Stop kidding yourself Draco, she's a wh*re." Bellatrix used her wand and shoved Draco out of the way. Hermione trembled, but glared at the Death Eater.

"Get away from me."

"Oh, is the baby going to fight? How cute. C'mon, I don't have time for this. Unless you want to do this right here?" She thought for a minute. "Actually, that'd be better. Monroe, Glods! Get in here!"

Two large men came in on either side of Draco and held him. Draco struggled, but he was weak from lack of nutrition and soon fell limp. Bellatrix raised her wand to Hermione.

"Now, let's see how clever you really are."

Hermione pulled herself up bravely and faced Bellatrix.

"You're a coward if you won't allow me my wand." Bellatrix face fell.

"You think I'm a coward?" Her face grew cloudy. "Bring the b*tch her wand." Hermione's wand was tossed to her.

"How pleasant." Hermione wiped it off and held it. How good it felt to have it in her hands at last!

"Bow Hermione." Bellatrix said, and gave a curt bow. Hermione did likewise, then flung a non-verbal spell at the thugs holding Draco. They were flung back against the wall and Draco was free.

"Draco, run!" She called to him.

"I'm not going anywhere without you." Draco said firmly. Bellatrix rolled up her eyes.

"Oh, shut up Draco. You're pathetic!" She waved her wand, and ropes bound Draco and threw him up on the wall. Hermione tossed a Stunning Spell her direction but missed.

"You'll have to try harder I'm afraid dear!" Bellatrix laughed. "Otherwise you'll end up like my precious cousin Sirius!"

"Expelliarmus!" Hermione shouted, and Bellatrix's wand flew from her hand. She snarled at Hermione.

"So...you learned a few tricks eh? See what I can do." Suddenly, Hermione was writhing on the floor in pain. Draco cried out to her.

"Hermione! What's going on?" He yelled at Bellatrix.

"Just a simple trick any pure-blood could do. Non-verbal spells without the wand. And now," Bellatrix said as she strode across the room, "It's time to end this." She picked up her wand.

"Avada-"

To get to Hogsmeade, Harry had to pass by the Malfoy Manor. He shuddered while going past it. He could still hear the horrors that took place within that house.

Wait a minute....

Harry stopped and listened. There were real screams coming from within that house! Harry turned and sprinted up the steps, praying he wasn't too late. He crashed open the door and stood for a moment, trying to gather his wits.

He was alone in Malfoy Manor, with people that might be injured. He sent out a Patronus revealing his location to his secretary, Miss Woods. He looked around the mansion, trying to find a door that would lead to the voices.

"...draco run...." Harry heard Hermione's voice coming from somewhere downstairs. He flung open a door and raced down the steps it revealed.

"...expelliarmus...." He was getting closer, he could feel it. He could hear Bellatrix's wild laughter. He opened up a door to his left, and his heart almost stopped.

Hermione on the floor, wandless, in pain. Draco tied up, shrieking. Bellatrix in mid-spell.

"Avada-"

"Stupify!" Harry screamed, and Bellatrix's spell was deflected. She turned to him, rage pouring out of her eyes.

"Alright Potter, now it's your turn!"

"Sorry Bella, but I'm not here to play. I'm just here to collect what's mine." Harry said calmly, and looked out the window. "Just here for what's mine."

"Harry, be careful!" Draco called from his position on the wall.

"Almost forgot about him." Harry murmered, and released him with a flick of the wand. Draco picked up his own wand and stood next to Harry, both at the ready.

"So this is how it is? Two against one? How clever." Bellatrix taunted. "i could take on three of you!"

"Then try it." Hermione was up at last, and pointed her wand at Bellatrix.

"But what fun is that?" Bellatrix asked, and with a quick movement, had Hermione in a headlock, wand pointed at her throat. Draco went to Stun Bellatrix, but Harry stopped him.

"You'll hit Hermione!" Bellatrix laughed.

"Little harder now, isn't it? Prepare to die, mudblood. Avada-"

"Stupify!" A voice from behind shouted, and Bellatrix slumped to the floor, Hermione released from her death grip. Hermione ran to Harry and embraced him.

"Harry! I'm ok! Thank you for that!" She sobbed in his arms. Harry stroked her hair.

"I know, but it wasn't me." He turned her around. "Thank Frank and John."

The two Aurors were busy levetating Bellatrix in order to bring her back to the Ministry. They looked up, waved, and then got back to work. Hermione smiled at Harry.

"I'm glad you work in the Auror section of the Ministry Harry."

"Yea well...I'm not. Freaky hours. I haven't gotten any sleep at all." Finally, the adrenaline was gone. Harry almost fell over from lack of sleep.

"Well, let's get you home." Hermione helped him out of the house, Frank and John following, Bellatrix between them.

Draco watched Hermione embrace Harry with a twinge in his stomach. She'll get to me soon, she'll say she loves me... He kept thinking to himself.

"Well, let's get you home." He watched them leave, without a sparing glance at him. Draco hung his head.

After all that he did for her....all she did for him. It was for nothing. She loved Harry, that much was clear. All that time in Italy, the snowstorm, being trapped in a cave for 4 days with no one but each other....she had said she loved him. He could still remember it....

"...so what did you do after...after we broke up?" Draco asked. Hermione shifted her weight.

"Like, socially? Nothing. I haven't found anyone since you." Draco flushed.

"I wasn't that special."

"Yes you were Draco." Hermione faced him. "You were very special. And I'm sorry I didn't see that earlier."

And in that damp, enclosed cave, Hermione put her arms around Draco and kissed him. She kissed him lightly, then applied more pressure. Draco was suprised, then kissed her back. After a few moments, they broke apart, panting.

"I hope you liked that, cause I happen to love you very much." Hermione warned Draco. He smiled.

But not anymore. He was sure of it. She loved Harry. Harry, the big-shot. Harry, the Let's-go-get-into-dangerous-situations guy. The Chosen One, the Boy Who Lived, blah blah blah!

Draco almost punched the wall in his frustration. He needed to get out of the house. He made his way back to London with a heavy heart. He unlocked the door to their (his? she was gone now?) house, and flopped down on his bed. Alone.

Well, he was able to be alone. He could handle it...right? He rolled over and fell into a troubled sleep.

I'm a Harmony shipper so I have to say:

Yay! It seems like Harry and Hermione have a chance of getting together! Forget Draco, Hermione, it's Harry you want!

But, Katie, you're almost making me feel sorry for Draco, with the woman he loves possible (hopefully she does) loving some one else. I don't know what to think now.

Can't wait for another post!
