Story: So, Hermione has been with Harry for a bit, but he’s a bit controlling...
Scratch that, he’s a control freak.
Hermione puts up with his controlling ways, of him telling her what they’re doing, where to go, etc. Then out of nowhere, a girl switches into their classes and Harry seems to start to grow a crush on this girl. Hermione is jealous and angry, so she decides to use Draco (his idea actually) to get back at Harry and make him jealous.

Will Harry come to terms with how he acts? Will he win Hermione back? Will Hermione really fall in love with Draco despite her promise to herself? Or will everything go down the tubes for Hermione because she realizes Harry isn’t truly worth it...?

NOTE: Harry isn’t seen much as a control freak in the beginning, but it’s more because of what comes up later... that and there isn't all that much yet, but it'll get a better.
And this is my first full Sa16+ F.F (I’ve done one-shots, that’s it).

Chapter 1
Nearly Late...

“Don’t forget Crookshanks, Hermione!” Jane, Hermione’s mom called after her daughter with the tabby in her hands.

“Thanks,” Hermione said as she took Crookshanks from her mother’s arms.

She quickly said goodbye again and jumped onto the train with two minutes before the doors were planned to close. It was the first time she was this late for the Hogwarts Express. In her mind, it was the first (legitimate) black mark on her previous 6 years at Hogwarts, and she hadn’t even gotten there yet!

Hermione walked down the open expanse, looking into each compartment to find Harry and Ron. Over the summer, she had been the one Harry went to when Ginny refused to take him back once he was able to. Because of it, their friendship had grown until Harry brought it to the next level. Since then, they have been together.

Throughout the summer though, Hermione noticed Harry had changed when around her though. He started telling her what she shouldn’t do, when to wake up, even what to eat. She was surprised, but didn’t say anything, she only assumed he cared enough to tell her these things.

Looking into the next compartment, Hermione saw a messy head of black hair in the window. She smiled and opened the compartment door and let Crookshanks go. He jumped out of her arms and jumped onto the seats and rubbed against Harry. Harry scratched behind Crookshank’s ears and let him prowl away.

“Hey, Mione,” he said when a warm smile upon seeing her lugging her things inside the compartment. She threw her things inside wordlessly and then sat next to Harry.

“Hello,” she said just before Harry kissed her. “How was the remainder of the summer for you?”

“Boring... I wish you stayed at the Headquarters, it was more enjoyable when you were around.”

“I had to see my parents at least once this summer, Harry,” Hermione responded pointedly. “Besides, it’s not like I’d miss out on tanning on the beaches of California to stay in a grimy house.”

“So that’s where this beautiful glow came from,” Harry said as he stroked Hermione’s cheek. A slow smile started to form on Hermione’s face, but quickly dropped when he said, “I still don’t see why it had to be a whole month though.”

“They’re my family, Harry,” Hermione replied defensively.

“Uh... good mornin’...?”

Hermione pulled away from Harry and looked over her shoulder. A pallid, half-asleep Ron stood at the compartment doors, watching curiously.

“Have a good sleep, Ron?” Hermione asked with a smirk as he attempted to pull his things inside.

“Yeah, like always,” he responded sarcastically as he threw his remaining smaller trunks onto the shelves. He sat across from Harry and Hermione.

“How’d you muster the strength to get out of bed if you’re that tired walking?” Harry joked.

“I don’t even want to think about that... anyways, how’re you two? Still at each other?”

“What?”

“How’re you two doing?” Ron rephrased quickly, smiling brightly.

“Good. Mione nearly missed the train though,” Harry said simply.

“I’m sorry if Crookshanks wasn’t where he was before,” Hermione snapped.

“I told you to get ready early in case something like that happened,” Harry pointed out with a hard edge.

“Funny, coming from you...”

“Guys, can’t you two ever have a conversation without arguing?” Ron cut in.
Harry and Hermione looked at Ron, shocked. Crookshanks went up to Ron and welcome him to the room.

“What...?”

“Out of all the people, that’s all,” Harry said as he got up. He reached up and started to pull down his trunk from the shelves that hung above the seats.

“People can change,” Ron responded defensively.

“That’s been dually noted,” Hermione said. “So how was your remaining summer for you?”

“It went well, I finally got to sleep in a bit for the last few days at least, but mum actually surprised us all when we went to Diagon Alley...”

“What’d she do?” Hermione asked eagerly.

“She bought a cat,” Harry concluded as he dropped his trunk onto the floor.

“I was telling the story,” Ron mumbled.

“It’s ok, Ron. So what kind of cat? What colour? Like Crookshanks or totally different?” Hermione was about to ask more questions, but was cut off by the sound of the horn. She looked out the window and saw the greenery passing by.

“I don’t know any breeds, but this cat was black with silver underneath it, so you can’t say she’s a cat for bad luck. We all named her Onyx because of her colour.”

“Aw, she sounds cute. How old she is?”

“About two months now. Ginny’s got her in the next compartment over with Neville and Loony... Luna,” Ron said quickly as he saw Hermione’s expression.

“So when you feel like it, you should go and check.”

“Yeah, it’s been a few hours since I’ve seen that overly-social thing, I could go with you, Hermione,” Harry said as he pulled out a chocolate frog.

“I’m fine, Harry, I can go by myself,” Hermione responded simply.

“But...”

“I can survive by myself for a few minutes or hours, thank you very much Mr. No-One-Can-Come-On-My-Horcrux-Hunt!” Hermione snapped, unable to take Harry’s attitude. She stood up and left the compartment, slamming the door.

“What’s eating her?” Harry asked as he handed Ron a licorice snap.

Ron shrugged as he stuck it in his mouth.

Finally I can update! =D Yay!

oh, and I sent this into some PMs but not others... so I’ll say here for... whoever reads this and didn't get it in their PM (I remembered it in my second round of sending out mails).
I got a new idea for a F.F – another Veronicas song for a F.F! Total Dramione obviously. If it gets up (I mean if I ever get around to writing it), it’ll be called Mouth Shut.

Chapter 2
In Ginny’s Compartment

Hermione sat in Ginny’s compartment, playing with the kitten Onyx. She listened to the conversations between Ginny, Neville, and occasionally Luna. As she was scratching Onyx’s black furred, silver rooted belly, Ginny turned to her.

“So how was California?” she asked curiously.

“Fun. The best beaches were by my hotel so I spent practically every day tanning or swimming.”

“I heard Harry blew a fuse at you going with your parents for the remaining summer vacation once he found out,” Ginny pushed.

“Yeah, he did. I don’t see why though. I mean, they’re my family after all, I have to see them at least once while I’m on vacation!”

“Are you avoiding him?” Ginny finally asked as Hermione swung the earphone of her iPod in front of the kitten. Onyx batted at it, sending it flying higher.

“Of course not!”

“Hermione!”

“Ok fine, I might just want a little awhile away from him...”

“You were on the other side of the world for a month, how does that not qualify for having ‘a little awhile away from him’?” Ginny pointed out as she rolled her eyes.

“So?”

“So that means you’ve had a month away and now you should just get back to him.”

“He’s been a pain ever since I got on the train! Honestly, first I’m just a tad late, then he gets into my vacation...”

“He just wants to be with you...”

“There’s a different between being with me and telling me what to do! I don’t need another parent for goodness sake, I already have two,” Hermione snapped as she put her headphone back into her pocket and let Onyx curl up on her lap.

Ginny gave Hermione a questioning look.

“I didn’t think he’d be telling me what to do and such. That’s practically the base of our relationship, me putting up with it. I’m starting to grow weary of it. I mean, I figured he just cared enough, but it’s just smothering now!” Hermione nearly exclaimed, causing Neville to recoil slightly.

“What’re you going to do?”

“I’ll just hope it goes away. I don’t want to loose Harry, so I suppose all I can do is put up with it and hope for the best,” Hermione responded with a shrug.

Ginny’s expression was discouraged, but she said no more. Hermione sighed and pulled out her earphones again. Once she put in the white earphones, Hermione pulled out her cased blue iPod. She shuffled the songs and went into her music world, letting the song Everything I’m Not by The Veronicas play.

Yeah, Harry's all whacked now! What's up with THAT? Maybe he's possessed or he's just changed into an air-head!

I did an entire half chapter where I tried to do H/Hr... I might've accidentally typed 'Draco' a few times but w/e, I changed it back to Harry moments later!

I luffed it and still Ginny seemed discouraged.

Chapter 3
The New Girl

Hermione sat through the first day on the DADA class, reading the same line over continually. She didn’t understand why, but her mind had been constantly drifting throughout the class. A knock on the door broke the silence. Professor Cabrera, the new DADA teacher, went to the door. Half of the class that looked saw Professor McGonagall, the new headmistress.

“Excuse me for a minute,” Professor Cabrera said to the class as he closed the door.

Everyone jumped out of their desks and piled in front of the door. Hermione sat in her desk and watched, scoffing - even Harry was one of the people that was at the door. As the professor opened the door slowly, everyone ran back to their desks and appeared to be reading when Professor Cabrera came back into the classroom.

“Everyone, a new student just came to Hogwarts this morning...”

“How’d this one get here without the train?” someone in the back blurted out.

“What house is this person in?”

“Have they even been sorted yet?”

“Stop acting like 1st years and listen! Everyone, this is our newest Gryffindor...”

Half of the class, the Slytherins, groaned. Professor Cabrera cleared his throat with a threatening expression.

“Our newest Gryffindor Jaimie Dupuis all the way from Lyon, France,” he announced with his best attempt at pronouncing the city and the girl’s last name in a French accent.

A slim girl with lightly curled chestnut brown hair quietly stepped into the room. Hermione saw all the guys ogling her and rolled her eyes with disgust. You could tell the girl was born French and made to be a model because of her tall body and long, trim legs. From what could be seen, she had perfectly corded arms that held up her books.

Hermione looked at Harry and she glared; he was looking at the girl the same way as all the other guys. She elbowed him sharply and he went back to his work with a slight scowl in response to Hermione’s jab.

“You can take any open desk,” Professor Cabrera said simply.

The new girl, Jaimie, did as she was told and took the open seat behind Harry, who was already angry enough at the thought of her being in the room.

“Ok, now that you all hopefully read what you were told, we’re going to start...”


Hermione quickly gathered her things quickly. She rushed out of the classroom, hoping ‘Jaimie’ wouldn’t be in it.

“Hermione!”

She stopped short, recognizing a female voice. She turned around and saw Jaimie walking up to her with an extra book.

“You dropped it,” Jaimie said as she passed Hermione the textbook. There was a faint French accent in how she spoke, almost like a mix of a French and English accent. Hermione shook off the feeling of how she liked the girl’s unique accent.

“Thanks,” she said curtly, taking the book from the French girl’s hands.

“And... do you know where the Muggle studies room is?”

A horrified thought of Jaimie being in Muggle studies class with her hit Hermione.

“Is that your next class?”

“Yeah...” Jaimie responded, sounding slightly flustered.

“Well... I’m going there anyways...”

“Good,” Jaimie said with a bright smile.

The two walked through the halls in what felt like an silence to Hermione. When it seemed the silence would never end, Jaimie said, “So... where’re you from?”

“Just outside of London.”

“What made you interested in muggle studies?”

“My parents are muggles. What about you?”

“My aunt married a muggle, so I figured I may as well see what this class has to say about how they live in comparison to how he does. He’s always been odd whenever I’ve seen him, so I was never sure.”

“So what brings you to Hogwarts anyways? I can only assume you were at Beauxbatons before...”

“Actually, I didn’t go there,” Jaimie cut in as she followed Hermione up another set of stairs. “I went to a private Russian wizarding school.”

“Really? Sounds far from where you live.”

“It was, I had to get on trains three days earlier just to make it to their school’s train. It was worth it though.”

“How so?” Hermione asked as she took another corner.

“Well... you know how Durmstrang specializes in Dark Arts... supposedly? Well, this school specialized more around Transfiguration. We could turn humans into rats by 4th year.”

“That’s amazing!” Hermione exclaimed, astounded. “I had to teach myself that by the end of 6th year since I wasn’t learning it yet.”

Another awkward silence filled the air as Hermione went up the final flight of stairs, Jaimie following beside her.

“So what made you want to come here?” Hermione finally asked, letting free the question that had badgered her since Jaimie had first walked into the Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

“Many things... but it was mainly daddy wanting me to get a rounded education, since my previous school was mainly Transfiguration. He heard of Hogwarts, and despite... what has happened, he believed it is a great place to learn...”

Hermione opened the door to the Muggle Studies room. The inside was empty - even the teacher had not appeared. Looking at her watch, she realized she was at least ten minutes early.

“Does everyone hate this class?” Jaimie joked as she put her books down.

“No, we’re just ten minutes early. I forgot the schedules shifted more for final year - more free time to get to and from classes...”

“Unlike first year where it could’ve really helped?” Jaimie finished with a smirk. “So tell me, who else do you know in Gryffindor takes this class?”

“I think Leah Thompson does...”

“What about Harry Potter?”

Hermione was taken aback.

“No...”

“Really?” Jaimie sounded surprised.

“What’s so shocking about it? He’s never been too fond of Muggles since living with the worst of the bunch.”

“I was hoping...” Jaimie muttered under her breath.

“Why were you hoping?” Hermione asked with a hard tone.

“I wanted to... get to know him.”

“He is my boyfriend you know,” Hermione said with a hard tone.

“Hm,” was all Jaimie responded as she left the classroom. Hermione stood behind her desk, rooted to the spot. Why was this new girl so interested in Harry?

Hehehe, I got a random idea for how that would go...
Something like this (just a random idea, might show up, might not):
"How dare you steal Harry from me, you French tart?!" Hermione yelled at Jaimie. She rose her hand to smack Jaimie, but another 7th year Gryffindor joined them and hit Jaimie so hard, she fell to the ground.
"What was that for, Emma?" Hermione asked, surprised. "You don't even know her..."
"THAT'S FOR TRYING TO BREAK UP HERMIONE AND HARRY!" Emma yelled at the withering Jaimie and stormed off. "ANd FOR STEALING MY FRENCH FRY! AND NO, I AM NOT FREAKING OUT!"
"Ok..." Hermione breathed, raising an eyebrow.
Shrugging, she then looked down at Jaimie and said, "While you're down there..." Hermione then kicked Jaimie in the stomach and walked off, leaving her groaning in pain.

You never know if that'll happen
Or something like this with Tara randomly injected into the story at a same point but no Emma and an opposite version:
"How dare you try to steal Harry from me, you French tart?!" Hermione yelled at Jaimie.She rose her hand to smack Jaimie, but another 7th year Gryffindor came between the two.
"No fighting!" the girl named Tara snapped. Jaimie stuck her tongue out at Hermione and ran off.
"Why'd you do that?" Hermione asked Tara.
"Well, you see..." Tara led Hermione away from the section of the hallway. "Draco's only playing the part of boyfriend with you because he really loves you. You two belong together more than you and Harry - Draco really cares, all Harry cares about is controlling you. Let the French tart be with Harry, he deserves her while you deserve better. Besides, you've already done enough to them, no need to start physically fighting."
Hermione was surprised. "Draco only wants to get back at Harry though..."
"Maybe that, but there might be more to him than what you think..." Tara responded mysteriously. She then left Hermione baffled.

That was fun... I need more readers to do more of that! (I'm bored, don't ask... 0.o).
Yeah... little random things like that might pop up later when I'm really bored BTW. That's just the start most likely
I'll update soon, I swear A few days... I go to camp in the 3rd week of August, will update on Saturday, and I leave for another camp 6 hours away on Sunday and will update whenever I get back, which is probably that next Saturday... so Sunday...
Yeah, just don't expect many updates in August from halfway through the 2nd week and on. They're all ready (I'm on chapter 15 currently ), I just need to get 'em up.

Chapter 4
Ginny, Hermione, and the Shadow

“So all she said was ‘hm’?” Ginny clarified as she pushed away a tree branch to walk around an oak tree, Hermione following close behind.

“Yeah. I don’t get her at all... I mean, first she asks about him, then she sits across from him in the Great Hall, and I swear I heard her flirting with him. Who the hell does she think she is?” Hermione exclaimed as she threw a rock into the Black Lake. She and Ginny sat inches away from the ebbing tide.

“A pretty girl that thinks she can get what she wants... I mean someone trying to make friends,” Ginny added quickly upon Hermione’s escalating expression.

“Friends with Harry Potter...” Hermione said scathingly. “No surprise there. Ever since 6th year he’s been ‘The Chosen One’ and even more famous because of the battle in the Ministry. Is she just seeking attention or something of that sort?” Hermione asked as she played with the sand between her fingers.

“I haven’t a clue. I’ve seen her with him a few times...”

“WHAT?!” Hermione yelled. Groups sitting near by looked at her with raised eyebrows.

“Sh,” Ginny said quietly. “Yes, the two have been walking around together, and frankly...”

“Why haven’t you told me?” Hermione whispered.

“You never asked,” Ginny responded with a shrug. Hermione glared at her coldly. “What?”

Rolling her eyes, Hermione responded, “I don’t know why I’m so uptight about this...”

“He’s your boyfriend; you have a right to be considering how she’s acting,” Ginny pointed out slowly.

Hermione snapped her attention to Ginny and asked, “How has she been acting?”

“Ok, now you’re paranoid...” Ginny started to get up.

“You said I have a right to be,” Hermione pointed out before Ginny could take a step. Ginny sighed and turned around to look down at Hermione.

“I said you can be uptight, not paranoid,” Ginny responded simply as she helped pull Hermione to her feet.

They walked slowly down the shoreline, occasionally talking. As the air filled with further silence, Hermione saw a shadow in the forest ahead. She stopped and tried to look closer, but the shadow moved away.

“Something wrong, Mione?” Ginny asked when she noticed Hermione had disappeared behind here.

“Uh... no, nothing,” she responded, eyes glued to the trees as she followed Ginny into the castle.

Like not enough is known about her?
She actually becomes a bit minor after that chapter - you don't really hear from her for awhile, which is pretty sad but she's still there physically mostly. Things come between Hermione and Harry, Draco included later on, more so than Harry and Jaimie against Hermione (yeah, I focused a bit more on Draco and Hermione, whaddya expect? ).
You'll be seeing a tad more of her throughout the rest of teh story tho

Yeah, Draco comes into the story chasing Jaimie because she stole his fries
Lol, no, he's coming soon, I promise that. A chapter or two... maybe three, w/e.

And I got an idea for another F.F as well The song sounded so Draco but at the same time Hermione (it was majority Draco so Draco is more the main character kind of thing).
I've run out of room on my Coming Soon thing! I already have three (I'm changing the Everything I'm Not to Mouth Shut, but I haven't really started on that one in comparison to my newer Dramione, All I Need).

So yeah, keep an eye out for the F.F All I Need (song by Within Temptation). It'll definitely be an entire F.F, and I surprisingly still have ideas for Dramione F.Fs... (scary, isn't it? I still have like, one other I haven't picked back up, Keep Holding On, and I've yet to get over a road bump in my Draco/OC Speak For Myself and think about Only Hope... again...).

So yeah, new F.Fs that'll be up eventually are Mouth Shut (Sa16+ most likely, but I dunno) and All I Need (no idea what the rating will be, I just came up with the idea an hourish ago and started it - two whole sentences in!)

Ish on a sugar high somehow (you can tell I'm hyper when I over-use smilies).
