Hi guys this is my first fan fic. It's a one shot Harry and Ginny story. The characters are by no means my own, they are created by JK Rowling's endless imagination. ~I hope you enjoy

Silent tears fell down a frail, weather worn face. The elderly woman dressed in a black chiffon dress. His favourite, she mused. Surrounded by family and friends. She hated funerals. She remembered the first she’d gone to, the white tomb and the tears. The day he’d told her he was leaving her. The day she properly realised just how much he truly did love her.

The second came too quickly to the first. There was many to be buried that day. Students, friends. A loving werewolf and his flamboyant witch wife. Their son in his Goodfather’s arms crying. Both of them crying selfish tears. So similar for the parents they both never knew. She knew then just how much she cared for him as she laid her flame haired brother to rest. The dark ones had buried their evil master that day. The ones who had survived. Many of them buried beneath the walls of Azkaban now, no longer able to hurt. But this one. This funeral hurt her to the core. And she understood just how much he meant to her.

She remembered then his very last wish. "Enjoy the places we loved and loved each other my sweet princess." His very last words. And with that she disapparated.

She sat on the pebbles of a Cornwall bay. It was here they first went when the war had been won. When he’d told her it would be okay. They would be okay. It was here she realised the meaning of truth. She walked into the sea. The waves crashing on her newly bare feet. And as she swirled the sea sprayed the darkening sky.

She stood staring at half a house. A sheer mist surrounding it. A sign to say it was the Potter’s house. She saw the gleaming building stood tall next to it. Almost identical to its neighbour. Except for the hole. His parent’s house. The house they’d turned once again into a laughing family home. She saw the hanging baskets swinging in the summer breeze. The hanging baskets she’d watered that morning. It was here she realised their family would have the childhood that they themselves didn’t have. They'd grown up too quick, saving the magical world. She twirled on her heels.

She was sat under the apple tree at the back of the home they’d grown up in. As friends. It was here he’d asked her father for her hand in marriage. It was here he’d asked her to marry him. It was here she’d walked down that aisle to him. Hair in flowing red curls. Dress of a shimmering white. It was here he’d truly become one of the family. His loyal best friend’s brother. Only a little while later and the clever young witch. Their clever best friend. Had also become a complete part of the family. And the trio had become a complete part of one another. She twirled again. It was here she realised how happy they had been.

She was sat in the waiting room of saint Mungo’s. It was here that her friends and family had waited for their son, their daughter, their second daughter and their surprise other son to be born into a family full of love. Then their nephews and nieces. Then their grandchildren and her brother’s grandchildren. It was here she realised all of her dreams had come true. With him by her side.

She spun once again and was back at that awful gravesite. Her husband lying just inches under her feet. She kissed her children, her grandchildren. Her family. Her friends. She spun on the spot for the last ever time.

She was tucked in their bed. One solitary tear formed in the corner of her eye as she realised she was about to die and join her husband in an eternal sleep.

They stood hand in hand exactly where she’d stood alone but a few days before. They watched over their Friends. Children. Grandchildren. Family. And many strangers that had come to mourn for those who had shared themselves with the magical world to save it from destruction. It was here they realised that they were both so very loved. They looked at their gravestones. Here lie beloved friends, parents and grandparents. Magic’s heroes. And the heroes of love. Harry and Ginny Potter. They walked into the light and disappeared from the saddening scene. And they realised that their life together had only just begun.
