Karaoke is Okey-Dokey

Part One:

“I’m bored. We should do something exciting” said Hermione.

“Like what? It’s not like we can go outside – it’s pouring down with rain” said Ron.

“Lets have a party – a foam party” said Harry.

“Nah, that’d be too messy, think of the poor house elves having to clean that up” said Hermione.

“How about a Karaoke party then? That’s not messy, and I can impress all the girls with my singing prowess” said Ron.

“Oh yeah, I remember your brilliant performance of the muffin man song at the start of the year – I had to save your butt from getting laughed off the stage” said Harry.

“Thanks for reminding me – not!” said Ron.

“So a Karaoke party it is then, should we make it only Gryffindors, or should we invite the other houses?” said Hermione

“Lets go ask Dumbledore if we can invite people from outside of school as well and have it in the great hall” said Harry.

“Why, who were you going to invite?” said Hermione.

“Kirstie, the author, and the rest of the elite” said Harry.

“Hmph” said Hermione as she scowled.

“What are you scowling for, missy? Afraid we’ll steal your spotlight?” boomed the Author.

“N-no – must have been something I ate” Hermione quickly replied.
“Good, now hurry along and ask Dumbledore if he’s sold on the idea” boomed the author again.

“I love noodles!” said Harry, out of the blue. The other two looked at him strangely and walked towards the portrait hole…

Part 2: (Just a short bit today, it's lunchtime and i'm starving)

They strolled towards Dumbledore’s office, and arrived to find Dumbledore sitting outside in the sun on a bench, talking to Kirstie and Caitlin of the Evil Elite.

“Do you really know Puff the Magic Dragon?” asked Dumbledore.

“Yeah, he lives out the back of my place, in a cave. He’s very good for entertainment, or for torturing your enemies. You could borrow him sometime if you wanted…” said Caitlin.

“He’s a snappy dresser too – why hello Harry, Ron and Hermione, how can we help you?” asked Kirstie.

“Umm, we were wondering if we could hold a Karaoke Party in the great hall?” the three said in unison.

“That sounds like an excellent idea – can the teachers come too?” asked Dumbledore.

“Yes” said Harry. “And we were wondering if Kirstie and the rest of the elite were interested in attending”

“We’d be delighted. We eliters are always up for a party” said Kirstie.

“Cool. We’d better go get organized. See you tonight” said Ron. The trio walked away, towards the great hall. Kirstie turned to Dumbledore and said "I should go - got to decide what to wear. Caitlin are you coming too?"

"Yeah. Hey Dumbledore, i'll bring Puff tonight - i'm sure he'd love to meet you" said Caitlin.

"Cool" said Dumbledore, as he suddenly started dancing like Justin Timberlake, gyrating madly. Kirstie and Caitlin got a bit worried and left quickly.

Part Three

That evening all the school and the Elite, and the special guest Puff the magic Dragon gathered in the great hall for a party. The guests were looking forward to a great night, as Hermione had decorated the hall with balloons and streamers in a multitude of colours, and Harry and Ron had gone on a secret mission to Diagon Alley to collect party food from their secret suppliers (namely Fred and George), which meant that the guests couldn't be 100% sure of what they were eating. Hagrid seemed very excited about meeting puff, so he ran up and shook his hand vigorously.

Harry stepped onto the stage and started to speak.
"Welcome to our Party! Please feel free to come up and use the Karaoke machine as you see fit"
with that he stepped off the stage. Puff walked up to the stage and sang his song (the words to which i forget). Draco stood up and cried "Dragons suck". this infuriated the tempestous Dragon, who promptly snatched the slimy Slytherin and whisked him away out the door. Harry thought he'd better keep the party going by singing "get this party started" by Pink with Cassirin. this was met by lots of applause, especially for the accompaning dance moves, which would have given Justin Timberlake a run for his money.How Harry and Cassirin managed to choreograph an entire dance routine in the two minutes they were talking was amazing. Not to be shown up, Lotus and Hoig went up and sang "Waltzing Matilda" in true Australian style (strewth, sorry guys - but it's funny) with accompaning can-can style dance. Ginny Weasley went up and sang "Fallin" by Alicia Keys. she (and everyone else in the hall) realised that she had a really good voice. she was later heard talking to Lavender, who had a part time job as a record company assistant, about possible album covers. Seamus went over to congratulate her on her fantastic voice, but she snapped "Stay away from me - you're ruining my image". Lots of other people sang, some were good, others not so good. the night ended with all the elite, harry and ron singing "We are family" to tumultous applause. McGonagall and Snape then decided that it was time for bed, so everyone made their way to their dorms, and the elite left to try and find Puff.

Thanks for letting me sing! It made me so happy to have the moves... and to dance with Harry. Yeah, we're best friends. He can't do a thing without me.

Oh, Lotus, all I could think was that you were waltzing with each other around the stage. I know that isn't waht the song means, but I just got this random mental picture when you asked that... so, the answer is WALTZ.

Oh, how stupid I am, it didn't even ocur to me about the Waltzing part. When I was little I used to think it was 'Walt sing Matilda'. :wacko: No wonder Zy made me Dopey in her fic.

I totally embaressed my mum once, when I tried to show her how it's done in the supermarket, as they were playing the song. She's American, so had no clue what I was doing, and tried to walk away from me.
That would have been an interesting security tape.

I love that song! Waltzing Matilda... And don't feal bad, Lotus, I was just as stupid when I thought that guys name was Andie. "Andie sang as he..." and jumped to the conclusion that he just must be a Scott. *bangs head with finger. head goes 'doing'"

"Hermione, could i have a word?" asked Neville after Herbology.

"Ok" said Hermione. They walked off towards the lake.

"umm, Hermione, i w-was wondering if you would go o-out with me?"

"Neville, you know i'm going out with Ron"

"But you guys had a fight last night" said Neville meekly.

"Neville, we ALWAYS fight. doesn't mean we've broken up though"

"Oh ok. umm i gotta go" Neville said as he ran off towards the school.

Neville was hurt. He really thought he had a chance with Hermione, the poor deluded boy. After he had finished crying in a corner of the common room later that night, he decided to get revenge on Hermione, and the other people who had been mean to him. He decided to start a newspaper with a gossip column only (because he isn't the best writer). He felt a new resolve, and spent the whole night making up rumors and magically making copies of his gossip column/ newspaper, aptly named Neville's News (cuz he ain't that great at coming up with stuff either).

The next day he began handing out copies at breakfast. He made sure Harry, Ron and Hermione each got a copy...
