#26 The answer. (Quill)

He looked through his letter quickly and sighed; it was really difficult to answer to her every time, but he summoned his energy and signed at the bottom, then added a line.

“I know you wanted to tell me this, but I thought of that first.
Don’t try to do anything without me, I’ll accompany you anywhere you’ll go.
The Apparition test went perfectly, just like I thought it would. Now we’re even.
Sincerely yours, Draco.
P.S.: Oh, and keep Potter away as long as you can.”

Draco put down the quill, took a deep breath and sealed the envelope.

#27 - Owl

“Master Draco, your owl is here with a letter, it’s from Azkaban.”

I take the letter from the stupid Elf… I wonder what is there and the answer is so close, I just have to open the envelope. A letter from a Prison can’t be good, but I’m worried about other things now… I open the letter and start to read it…

“Mother!” I yell as my eyes widen and the letter falls down out of my hands. “Mother, they caught him!” I scream louder because my insides twitch. “They caught father! He’s in Azkaban!” Merlin, help me get through.

#28 - Timeturner

To be honest, sometimes I wish a had a Timeturner, so I could change some things. I want to meet Potter before stupid Weasel and that servant oaf Hagrid, so he knows what the true values of the wizarding world are. I want to meet him before Granger, so he know she is not the one who’s smart in school. I want to meet him before Longbottom, so he doesn’t get too carried away with his own perfection. I want to meet him before the Weaselette, so he doesn’t know what love is.

I want him to be in Slytherin…

#29 - Pensieve

Did you know Snape had his own Pensieve in his house in the Spinner’s End? No? I didn’t know that too, but he does. And sometimes he throws his memories there, so I get to watch them. He is a very unlucky man who has a very bad faith and ruined destiny.

Am I supposed to be like that? Do I also have to go through all that – lies, disguise, constant hiding from your friends, enemies and people you love, from everyone? Will my destiny be ruined as well?

Well, it actually is.

#34 - Parseltongue
I wish I could speak Parseltongue, because then I could scare anyone I want, probably even my father who does not believe I can do something valuable. He always compares me with other rich and wealthy children, but he does not know that I am one hundred times better than anyone else.

I know where the truth lies and I know that those creatures we call snakes are beautiful and intelligent… there is just such thing called “misunderstanding”… when you are the only one who can be trusted, but nobody wants to believe you.

I wish I could speak Parseltoungue.

#35 - Pureblood

I am proud that I am a Pureblood and I can’t complain. I have everything that I want from life – money… loads and loads of Galleons showering above me while I drown in a world or richness. Fame… I’m well-known, I’m well-educated and I know exactly what I want from life… something no one can give me… I want to love… I want to feel hot flames burning inside my chest spreading the warm feelings as my head stays cold and I’m capable of thinking. My common sense tells me it will never happen, but I know it could have.

#36 - Muggle

“You look like a Muggle.”

“How am I supposed to look in a Muggle town?”

“Why don’t have our warlock pride on and wear cloaks?”

“There’s one thing you don’t understand… the last thing we need is to be noticed and reported, how can you not understand?”

“Do I have to dress like that too?”

“Yes.”

I frown as I look at weird clothing Snape gave me – boots, pants, hat, everything looks just weird. I’m used to other kind of things, but we’re in disguise now. Well, if you say so…

“It won’t help if you wear it like that.”

#37 - Animagus

“So Black’s an Animagus, father?” I asked not believing my own ears.

My father scowls as if despising me. “Of course he is.” But the hints in his voice make me wonder… “Severus already knew that and Pettigrew’s information was quite useful.” I still hear those hints. “… and Potter’s father was an Animagus.”

My eyes grew wide. “Potter’s father was an Animagus?” My father nods as if he doesn’t care. “They had a club or what?” I expect a laugh, but nothing follows.

Now there’s another proof that Potter can beat me in anything. My father isn’t an Animagus.

#38 No good memories. (Patronus)

"Expecto Patronum!" Draco shouted waving his wand hopelessly in all directions. "Come out, you stupid thing!"

Silver sparks flew out of his wand and landed on the floor of his room. He sighed... all his attempts to conjure up the Patronus were fruitless, his wand was just playing tricks on him.

He sat down on the sofa and closed his eyes thinking hard.

A few minutes flew by. Draco opened his eyes and asked himself out loud. "What if I don't have a single good memory?"

He put the wand on the cabinet nearby and curled up on the sofa.

#39 - Duel

“So you just told him you wanted to duel with him, Draco?” Crabbe asked for the fifth time. Merlin, they are so thick sometimes that even small portions of information can’t get through their wide foreheads.

“Yes, Vincent, I told the famous Potter that I wanted to duel with him and he believed every single word”, I said hoping that this time he would understand.

“So are you going to go?”

Dear Merlin, please help me if I’m going to have to study with them for seven more years.

“No, I am NOT going anywhere and stop asking stupid questions.”

#40 - Spell

Each spell she casts is like a sting in my brain. She catches the worst memories I have – my first fall from the broomstick, my first meeting with Potter, my dad being captured and all the titles I see in the Daily Prophet… she fishes out everything I’m trying to hide, she laughs at what she sees and I know I have to hide it carefully, I need to close my mind and never open it to anyone. She tortures me with those spells, but I’m trying to do everything I can. My auntie Bella is one mad evil witch.

#41 Creepy. (Thestrals)

“I didn’t know they were so creepy.”

“They’re not, they just show that you’re experienced enough for the Magic world.”

“What if I don’t want to?”

“Well, you have no choice, what’s done is done.”

Snape narrowed his eyes at the creatures nearby the lake as they were looking back at them with hunger.

“I hope if that happens again I won’t see more of them, I’m scared.”

“I’m sure a lot of us will be seeing them soon.”

Draco closed his eyes blocking the view with his eyelids trying to block the image of Thestrals in his mind also.

#44 Ford in the Forest. (Ford Anglia)

Draco sneaked into the Forest under the Invisibility Cloak holding the Marauders Map in front of him. It was so easy for Pettigrew to steal the Map from Potter’s open trunk, wrap it in the Cloak along with himself and run dragging the Map behind.

He ducked under the thick branch and continued walking trying hard to avoid the twigs almost ripping the silvery material when suddenly he heard a roaring which sounded like a Muggle car engine. He froze in shock. A pair of lights ignited and he jumped away just as a wild Ford Anglia swept past him.

#49 - Yule Ball

I see her sliding towards the entrance of the Great Hall as the best Seeker in the world leads her to the Yule Ball. She looks stunningly beautiful. I feel a small fist hit my arm and try not to screw my face because it hurts.

“Are you looking at her?”

I frown. “No, I was wondering what potion she used on him to make him do that.”

She glances at me from the corner of her eye and maybe right now she is not regretting that she is not with me, but she will be regretting it very soon.

#50 Weird Fears. (Boggart)

The wardrobe was shaking furiously.

“I bet it’s a boggart.”

Snape nodded. “I’m sure it is”, he flicked his wand and the wardrobe opened…

“What’s that?” Draco asked as James and Lily Potter came out, holding hands.

Snape blushed. “Riddikulus”, he muttered, but the boggart moved towards Draco and…

“And what is THAT?” Snape yelled looking at Draco’s boggart. Draco blushed even harder.

“I don’t know”, he said as Snape eyed him up and down, got rid of boggart and walked out of the room. Draco tried to force an image of kissing Weasley and Granger out of his mind.
