#1: Herbology
Entrapment

“Help me!” Ron cried wrestling with the Devil’s Snare plant yet again. “Ron?! Again?! What is with you these days?” Harry exclaimed in frustration as Neville helped Ron.

“We should have dropped Herbology with Hermione when we had the chance,” Ron said on a sigh.

“Yeah well, you thought Neville would be able to help us as well as Hermoine, no offence Neville,” Harry replied sarcastically.

“No problem,” Neville chuckled as he pushed the Devil’s Snare back out of the walk way, “I can help you with Herbology Ron; I just can’t help you from yourself!” He exclaimed laughing.

The Room

"Hurry, it is just up ahead!" They silently ran through the halls trying to lose Mrs. Norris. "That cat can run fast!" James exclaimed out of breath.

"What is just up ahead?" Peter asked, in between breaths.

"The room!" Sirius replied impatiantly.

"What room?" Peter asked, confused.

"Look, do you want to get cought by Filch or what?!" Sirius asked losing patience.

"Here we are." Lupin interrupted stopping suddenly. He quickly walked past the door 3 times. "What are you-"Peter stopped when suddenly a door appeared on the wall that hadn't been there before.

"This room, Peter." Lupin said satisfied, holding the door open. "The Room of Requirments." he said as he shut the door just as Mrs. Norris turned the corner.

"Feed me Seymour"

Please put on you Dragonhide Gloves. If you do not have authentic dragonhide gloves, which you all should be now, you will not be able to participate and will, therefor, recieve zero points for today."

Madame Sprout walked through the greenhouse and smiled in pleasure that all of the Gryffindor students had the required gloves. Satisfied that they had them on properly, she began the lesson, "Today we will be working with the Audreymankis. It is a plant that resembles a Venis Fly Trap. This plant aslo has a taste for flesh, but in the form of humans, small animals, and other livestock. All surfaces of the plant are poisonouse to skin except the petals around the face, but if you touch those, chances are you will already be dead, becuase that is were it's 4 rows of razor sharp teeth are."

Around her the students gulped and backed away from their plants. "We will be working with babies today, the most they can do is cause boils if you touch it."She finished, chuckling.

"Mine! Mine! Mine!"

"But I want it Daddy, please!" A young girl was crying while in Diagon Alley. Her and her father were standing outside of on of the shops looking at cauldrons.

"Your list says that you need a standard pewter size 2 cauldron, not a solid gold one." Her father replied. "Besides," he tried to reason with her, "how would it look if your cauldron melted becuase your fire was too hot, gold melts much easier than pewter."

"I don't care!" The girl shreaked, "I want it, it's pretty!"

"What a spoiled little br-" "Oh come on Hermione," Harry interrupted her, "didn't you ever want something that bad?"

"No" She replied angrily, "kids these days, all they every think about is 'mine, mine mine, and me, me, me."

Inevitable

A young girl and her parents entered a slightly dusty, poorly lit shop. All of the walls were covered with floor to ceiling shelves. Long thin boxes filled up every space on every shelf. In the window there was a single display: a purple cloth on which rested a wand.

"What a pecuilar store!" The woman said, not noticing the other customers in the store until they spoke.

"There is no better place to find a wand than Ollivandar's" The man said. "I am Mr. Potter, and this is my son James, he is also a first year." Said the man, correctly assuming that the girl was as well.

"I am Lily Evans!" The little girl piped up!

Never Gets Easier

"I slay dragons!" "Yeah!? Well I hunt Vampires!" A group of boys stood around her, glazed expressions on their faces, drooling slightly, and trying desperately to show up the rest.

The girl, a Veela, just smiled tolerantly, used to all of the attention

“Argh!” Ginny exclaimed, watching the boys fall over each other for the Veela.

Harry had learned to block the effects, hard as it might be, was watching Ron, who was beginning to drift in her direction.

“Ron!” Hermione barked, “You think he would have gotten used to them with Fluer living with you!”

“Yes, but this is a new one.” Ron sighed dreamily.

WHAT?!?!?!

“What do they mean Kneazle breeding is now illegal?!” was heard bellowing all the way down Privet Dr.

“Mrs. Figgs,” Arthur Weasley began, “would you like to explain to all the muggles in Little Whinging what a ‘Kneazle’ is?” He sighed at the degree of redness Mrs. Figgs face turned at his comment.

The cats, knowing the purpose of the meeting were hissing and growling menacingly at the ministry officials.

“You know they are harmless and so do I, therefore,” Arthur moved his feet away from a cat that was threateningly sharpening its claws; “you may keep the ones you have now.” He ended lamely.

“Ahh, I know what’s wrong, “Mrs. Figgs said, comprehension dawning on her face, “the ministry is scared that my cats are smarter then them!”

Can I see Uranus?

"If you look through your telescopes you will see the outer ring of Uranus" A mad fit of giggles irrupted interrupting the rickety, ancient voice of their substitute Astronomy teacher.

“Oh for Merlin’s Beard!” He sighed exasperated. “You have the assignment, complete it!” Angrily, he walked away muttering to himself, “I don’t know why they always laugh at that; I mean is it really that funny?” His crotchety old muttering just caused the students to laugh harder.

“Hey Hermione, can I look through your telescope at Uranus?” Ron asked snickering. His cheeky comment earned him a slap in the face.

S.P.E.W.

“Support S.P.E.W!” Hermione was chanting in the hallway. She had charmed some signs to bob up and down around her like a picket protest.

“YAY! Spew! Spew! Spew!” Fred & George cheered, running down the hallway past her.

Hermione’s face turned red, “Not Spew, it’s S.P.E.W.!” People all around them had begun to point and laugh.

“House Elves rights are not a laughing matter!” A tearful Hermione exclaimed as she ran down the hall, her signs bobbing along behind her.

“Hermione, your cause is great,” Ron carefully chose his words when he caught up to her in the lavatory, “but starting a picket is not going to get people to take you seriously.

Love Letters

“I got a new quill!” Lily exclaimed to her friend. “It is enchanted to check my spelling and grammar, as well as my research!”

“Wow!” Alice exclaimed, “That is amazing! Have you tried it yet?”

The two girls were sitting in the Gryffindor common room getting ready to start their homework.

In the corner, James nudged Sirius motioning him to watch the girls.

Lily began writing, “The dwarf riots – hey!” she exclaimed, the quill had written “I LOVE James Potter!”

“James!” She screamed, he was upside down in the air before he had time to react. “What good is a quill,” he pouted, “that doesn’t write me love letters!”

Revenge of the Twins

“Let us use your owl, Harry: Ron said looking around

“Who’s us?” Harry demanded, not looking up from his Homework.

“Well, umm, just me.” Ron said sounding uncomfortable.

“Why?” Harry again demanded, still not looking up.

“Please Harry!” Ron pleaded, “I need to send an owl to Fred & George.” He said frantically.

Harry looked up suspiciously; Ron had a cloak pulled over his face.

“What is wrong with y – ” Harry’s sentence ended with a scream of terror. Ron’s face was covered in what looked like huge pimples, but they were actually miniscule Ron-heads, and they were all laughing.

Only One

“I need a timeturner” James said crashing into a chair.

“Why?” Lupin asked puzzled.

“Between class, homework – ” Sirius snickered, “– quidditch practice,” James continued without missing a beat, “Sarah, Samantha, Michelle, and stalking Lily, I just don’t have any me time.” He finished with a fake sigh of exhaustion.

“You could start by not dating three different people!” Lilly snapped as she walked past.

“Done!” James said with a gleeful smile, “You didn’t mention yourself!” He said triumphantly.

“Well, I, um, assumed that was a given!” Lilly sputtered as she hurried off.

“Won’t be much longer, boys.” James closed his eyes, pleased with himself.

Unfair

"Harry, Occulmency isn't working." Dumbledore had called Harry to his office for a meeting. Harry opened his mouth in agreement.

"Professor Snape tells me that you are not trying, that you don't care and that you are an abysmal failure." Dumbledore interrupted what Harry was about to say.

Harry's mouth dropped open in utter disbelief at what had just come out of his favorite professor’s mouth.

“I however, so not agree with him.” Harry breathed a sigh of relief.

“I simple feel that you have too much on your mind.” He said handing Harry the Pensieve. “Use this every night before you sleep. I want you to keep working with Snape.”

An Imposter Among Us

"Welcome to the Start of term Feast!"

Instead of hearing the friendly, voice of Albus Dumbledore, they heard the whiny voice of Argus Filtch.

Standing at the head of the table instead of the Headmaster, was Filtch. He looked like he had been trying to look more Dumbledore-esk. He had on long flowing purple robes, and what looked like a glue-on white beard, but his long greasy scraggly hair could still be seen poking out of the matching wizards hat.

The staff stared at him in horrified silence, appalled at what they were seeing. A few students began quietly snickering.

“Sorry I am late.” Came a voice from the back of the room, as Dumbledore looked down his nose at a blushing Filtch, “I seemed to have lost my way, but as was so nicely worded before, Let the Feast Begin!”

Not on My Watch

"What is that?!" Ron's angry bellow caused many in the common room to jerk their heads towards him surprise. His face turned first pink, then a violent shade of red, then back down to pale white.

“What is that?” He asked again in an almost inaudible whisper.

“Oh this?” Ginny replied gaily, these are my dress robes, she said turning in a circle. Her dress robes consisted of two pieces, the top barely covering her midriff and the skirt, although floor length was a sheer gossamer type material that hid almost nothing. “Do you like it?”

“Change, now.” Ron said hardly containing his rage as his sister skipped away laughing

Psych

Harry circled the Quidditch pitch flying high above the stands. “If I catch the snitch, we will win the game and completely knock Slytherin out of the Cup!” Harry though.

He could see Draco, always close behind, following Harry’s every move, waiting for Harry to chase the snitch so he could pass him with the speed of his broom.

Glancing back to glare at Draco, Harry caught sight of the snitch just behind Draco’s head.

Making a split second decision, Harry made a sudden dive, pulling up after Draco had passed him, flying over and catching the waiting snitch before Draco had figured out head been duped.

You Can’t be Serious!

It was dark as Seamus silently crept down to the Gryffindor common room. He had received a letter from Luna earlier that day telling him to meet him on the Quidditch Pitch at midnight.

Seamus knew Luna from the DA, but not well enough to warrant her sending him such an elusive letter. His curiosity peaked, he cautiously made his way down to the Pitch, after dodging a screaming Peeves, and narrowly avoiding an eager Filtch.

Luna was kneeling on the ground, a prism in her eye. “Thanks for coming” She said not looking up. “I am hunting for Cross-Eyed Snork-Backs, and after your comment about them in Care of Magical Creatures class I thought you would want to also.”

An Interesting ‘Talent’

“I see here on your resume that you speak parceltongue, Mr. Potter.” The Minister said to Harry. They were sitting in his office during an interview for the position of Auror. “That’s not on my resume!” Harry interjected.

“I know.” The Minister replied, “But I knew this information, so I took the liberty of including it, I hope you don’t mind. It is a dead useful talent, Harry”

“I do mind!” Harry said furiously, “That is not a ‘talent’ that I want publicized!” Harry desperately struggled to regain control of his temper. Regardless of how much of a prat the Minister is, he could not let it ruin his chances of becoming an Auror.

“It is a useful talent.” The Minister insisted weakly.

The Headless Crusaders

A scream pierced the silent castle. The two boys ran into an empty class room as Filtch took off to the Headmaster’s Office.

"Did you see the look on Filtch's face?!" George fell back onto the floor, he was laughing so hard.

The boys had been trying out their newest invention, but unfortunately it didn’t work as planned, not that it had been a failure. Trying to develop a new way to sneak around, the Twins had created a hat that was supposed to make the wearer invisible. Unfortunately, it only worked on what it was directly touching. This is how Filtch discovered two headless bodies roaming the corridors.

"You do NOT have to be Pureblood to be worth anything!" Hermione had Draco pinned against the wall, her wand stabbing into his jugular.

“Yeah right.” Draco said trying to sneer, “Look at Harry, he is Half-blood and he is worth next to nothing, but even he is better than you!” His words were cut off by a choking gurgle as Hermione pressed her wand even further into his throat, cutting off his air.

“You are not very smart, Draco.” Hermione said sneering in turn, “You’re the Pureblood, and I am the Muggle born, but I am the one holding the wand at your throat!” Hermione said triumphantly.

Fascinating

“So you’re a muggle!” Arthur Weasley was staring at Vernon Dursely like he was a new creature on display at the zoo. “Fascinating!”

“If by muggle you mean normal, then yes, I am.” Vernon responded through gritted teeth as he slapped Arthur’s hand away. He was trying to open Vernon’s jacket to see his complete outfit.

“I am going to get the rest of my stuff together.” Harry said, seeing Arthur transfixed with Vernon’s pocketwatch. “Come on and help me then.” He said to Ron, Fred, George and Ginny. The adults down stairs could hear the children’s laughter before they managed to slam Harry’s door.

An Elephant of a Problem

“Think of something happy.” Harry said as he walked among the practicing students in the Room of Requirements. The other professors had been so impressed with how much the students in the DA had learned they enlisted Harry to continue the DA.

Coming to the back of the room, Harry came upon he little girl that was not producing even a mist. After unsuccessfully helping her he began getting frustrated with her lack of success

“Try harder,” he barked, “and spit out your gum!” Irritated, he walked away. “Professor?” She said through a mouthful of gum. He turned around in time to see am elephant patronus slam into his chest.

A Duel I say: Part 1

“I challenge you to a duel!” A small Gryffindor boy stood tall and barely came to James’ elbow. “You have got to be kidding me!” James said smirking.

“Do not laugh at me sir, you have soiled my sister’s honor, and I must challenge you.” The boy said solemnly.

“Who is your sister, small fry.” James asked, watching the boy bristle. “Her name is Heather McGinnis.” He said with a bright red face.

Hardly controlling is laughter he sputtered, “But your sister is a 7th year, and you are lying if you say you’re old enough to be a 1st year!”

Looks are Deceiving: Part 2

“Let’s see what you got then.” Sirius said to the small boy. “Show me your very best spell.”

“I don’t need to prove myself to you.” The boy said disdainfully looking Sirius up and down. “Besides my grievance is not with you, therefore, step aside.”

Instead of stepping aside, Sirius sent him a silent spell that most students wouldn’t have been able to deflect, yet this small boy easily shielded himself, with and equally silent cast.

“What the…?” James said, his laughter instantly dried up. “Sirius did you do..?” “Yeah.” Sirius was dumfounded, his mouth hanging open in disbelieve.

“I am older than I look, and you should have never underestimated me!” the boy said smugly

Victory: Part 3

“I must ask you all to leave us.” The boy said brandishing his wand at the group of onlookers, “Or you will all be able to see Thestrals very soon.” That last threat caused the bystanders to exit the common room as fast as the could squeeze through the portrait hole.

“What are you going to do to me?” James asked, fear entering his voice, almost undetectably.

“I told you, you need to be punished for your behavior.” The boy said, casting a silent spell that caused James to be completely paralyzed.

The boy propped James up, and stepped back. Terrified, James couldn’t even close his eyes to the gleam of victory in the small innocent looking boy’s eyes.

The Grand Finale: Part 4

“James watched the boy take a step back, and ready himself in attack stance. “What is he waiting for?” he thought, in a near panic.

Suddenly the boy doubled over as if in pain, his features becoming grossly misshapen as James looked on in horror at the writhing figure in front of him. Suddenly, the figure stood up, and Lily was standing directly in front of him, a smirk on her beautiful face.

“You’ll think twice about picking on first years again.” Lily said, as a dawn of realization hit James. “Brilliant.” He thought furiously.

“Signal the others that it is safe to return in about 10 minutes.” Lily said to the portraits as she walked out laughing, “Let’s let him suffer for a bit.”
