Why had he snuck into his sister’s room so late at night? She was always tricking him into doing things that would get him in trouble sooner or later. Nine year old Jorge didn’t really mind that much though. He missed his sister when she was away at school, so he’d take the chance, but now in the dark on the floor he held his flash light on. “Jorge turn off the light, it was a story, it’s not real.” She grabbed the flash light. He reached up and took it back. “Don’t turn out the light.” He was scared.

10. Little Girl

“What are you having? Are you going to find out?” He was getting tired of hearing those words. Honestly he did want to know, but that was up to Mariel. She was the one doing all the work, so he’d let her decide. As the appointment came and they talked, his nerves jumped again. They were going to find out. He was going to be happy either way. They were further along than last time, so healthy was all he cared about.

Seeing the little images, he grinned.

“It’s a girl”

A girl, his little girl. He was in love.
