The Last Match 13. Quidditch



Gryffindor plays against Slytherin for the house cup. Lily finds Sev sitting alone at the Slytherin House table.

“Why aren’t you ready?” Lily asks. “The Qudditch match is about to begin.”

‘I’m not going,” Snape replies. “Watching Potter fly around the pitch isn’t my idea of fun. You go. I know you want to get a good seat, so you can oogle at him.”

“Who told you I fancy James Potter?” Lily demands.

“Bellatrix Lestrange,” Snape replies.

“She hates me. Bellatrix loves to spread rumors about me.”

“You don’t like Potter?” Sev asks.

“He’s okay. Let’s go watch the match.”

The Missing Potion 17. Cauldron



Tonks is brews her potion. Snape walks around watching them. He comes to Tonks’s cauldron. She vigorously stirs her potion. Suddenly, her potion starts disappearing. It’s leaking out of the bottom of her cauldron. Tonks tries a sealing charm, but it just makes the potion disappear faster.

“Is there a problem?” Snape asks.

“My cauldron doesn’t seem to be working properly. All my potion seems to be disappearing,” Tonks confesses.

“Your potion is on the floor. Evanesco!”

Snape and Tonks look inside her cauldron.

“There’s a hole in your cauldron, Snape says.”

I wonder how that got there,” Tonks muses.

There’s Something About Fleur 21. Veela




Dumbledore and Snape stand together in the Great Hall. They watch the students dancing. Professor Dumbledore smiles when he sees Hagrid and Madame Maxime dancing close together.

“Everyone seems to be having a good time tonight,” Dumbledore says.

Fleur and Roger Davies dance by them. Roger holds her close to him. Snape starts feeling a warm and fuzzy inside like a lovesick puppy. He used to feel like that when Lily was near him.

“There’s something strange about Miss Delacour. I feel queer everytime I’m near her.”

“She’s part veela. Ollivander discovered it at the Weighing of the Wands Ceremony.”

Affairs of the Heart 25. Sorting Hat



The sorting hat slips down over Snape’s head.

“I sense a conflict brewing here. Your head says Slytherin, but your heart says Gryffindor.”

“I did want to be in Slytherin House, but I’ve changed my mind,” Snape says.

“You have a cunning mind, a clever mind. I see a thirst for knowledge a desire for dark magic. You would do well in Slytherin house.”

“But my best friend, Lily Evans, is in Gryffindor, and I want to be with her, please.” Snape pleads.

“Affairs of the heart don’t concern me. I only read minds, and your mind shouts for Slytherin!!!

The Christmas Gift 26. Quill



The students prepare to leave for Christmas Holidays. Lily searches the castle for Sev. She’s afraid she’s going to miss him. Lily needs to give him his Christmas Gift. She finds him sitting alone at the Slytherin table.

“Where’s your trunk?” Lily asks.

“I’m staying here,” Sev says.

“I wish you had told me,” Lily says. “I would have stayed here too.”

Severus hands a package to Lily. “I bought you something.”

Lily opens the box. “You shouldn’t have.” Lily says. “It’s the quill from Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop’s window. I love it!” Lily kisses Sev on the cheek. He blushes.

Snape’s New Dress Robes 27. Owl



Dumbledore calls the teacher’s meeting to order. An owl flies through the window carrying a dress size box. She lands in Snape’s lap.

“Oooh, that’s a big box,” Sprout says.

“Did you order something,” McGonagall asks.

“I ordered a new set of dress robes,” Snape replies.

“New dress robes, I’d love to see them,” Sprout says.

“Why don’t you show us them?” Dumbledore demands.”

“Go on open it,” Sprout request.

Snape opens the box and pulls out a set of magenta robes.

“That’s not your usual color,” McGonagall says.

“Madame Malkin sent the wrong ones.” Snape complains. “I ordered Black.”

The Favor 29. Pensieve



Snape knocks on Dumbledore’s office door.

“Enter,” Dumbledore says.

Severus walks in and sits down. He sees Dumbledore’s pensieve on the desk.

“I’d forgotten how beautiful Lily Potter was,” Dumbledore says. “How old would you say she was?”

“Fifteen years old,” Snape says.

Dumbledore removes the memory from the pensieve. He tips another silver liquid into it. This memory shows Snape talking to Dumbledore on the mountain. Severus begs him to save Lily from Voldemort’s wraith. Snape stares at it.

“Lily’s son, Harry Potter, is coming to Hogwarts. I want you to keep an eye on him like you promised.”

The Speech Stays the Same 30. Feast



Snape sits at the head table. Another school year begins, and Dumbledore gives his usual speech at the opening feasts. Severus tries not to look bored, but it’s hard to keep a solemn face. He looks over at the Slytherin table. The sorting hat made some good choices this year.

“Is Dumbledore ever going to finish this speech?” Snape wonders. “I’m starving. Let the feast begin.”

Just then Fred and George Weasley jump up on the Gryffindor table. They take their clothes off and start singing and dancing. McGonagall drops her goblet. “Now that’s a speech,” Snape says and smiles.

Happy Birthday, Salazar Slytherin 32. Common Room





Snape walks into the Slytherin Common Room. The place is a mess. Streamers, balloons, it looks like someone has had a party. Draco sleeps on the sofa. Crabbe and Goyle snooze in chairs.

“What is the meaning of this?” Snape bellows.

Draco jumps up.

“Sir, we had a party last night…for…Salazar Slytherin’s birthday. Isn’t that right? Draco says.”

Crabbe and Goyle nod in agreement.

“That’s very nice. You’ll have shown real Slytherin pride. There’s just one problem. Salazar Slytherin’s birthday is August 16. Yesterday was February 29. You celebrated the Founder of Slytherin’s House birthday on the wrong day… again.”

Voldemort’s Most Loyal Servant 35. Pureblood



Voldemort and his deatheaters gather to initiate a new member. Lucius escorts him in. Bellatrix swears him in.

“Severus Perseval Snape, do you solemnly swear to you are a pureblood wizard?”

“I do,” Snape says.

“Do you believe pureblood wizards are superior to all other wizards?”

“I do.”

“Do you promise to serve the Dark Lord faithfully for the rest of your life?”

“I do.”

Voldemort grabs Snape’s arm. Severus winches in pain as the skull appears.

“Welcome to my loyal servant. May you never betray me,” Voldemort says.

“Never my lord, I would die first,” Snape says and bows.

The Queen of Pain 39. Duel


Severus duels with Bellatrix. She hits him with a stunner spell. Snape deflects it with his shield charm. He shoots the Petrificus Totalus spell at her. Bella deflects it and counters with the Cruciatus Curse. Severus withers on the ground in pain.

“Say uncle Snape!” Bellatrix demands. “Admit it; I’m a better dueler than you are.”

Bellatrix lifts the spell.

“I admit nothing,” Snape replies. “You cheated.”

“I only used all the weapons in my arsenal,” Bellatrix retorts. “Are you afraid of a little pain?”

“You are the queen of pain,” Severus says. “It’s the only thing you truly love.”

The Look of Death 41. Thestrals



Snape walks into the Forbidden Forest looking for Hagrid. He’s feeding his thestrals.

“May I have a word with you?” Severus can’t hide his discomfort being around the thestrals.

“What can I do for you Professor Snape?” Hagrid asks.

“It has come to my attention that you are teaching your seventh year class about thestrals,” Snape says. “They are not on the Ministry of Magic’s approved list of Magical Creatures.”

“Thestrals aren’t dangerous sir,” Hagrid replies. “They just get a bad rap because wizards can’t normally see them.”

“They are vile creatures,” Snape says. “You cannot use them in class!”

The Daily Prophet 44. Ford Anglia



Snape sits at his desk reading The Daily Prophet. Ignoring the front page, he goes to his favorite column, Potent Potions. Snape then turns back to the front page and scans the articles. He reads the one about the witch, Alexandra Knatchbucket, who won five thousand galleons in the Why I Love Fortescue Ice Cream essay contest. Severus doesn’t know why the Daily Prophet wastes their readers' time publishing such rubbish. Then he scans the headlines and sees the photograph of a Ford Anglia flying above the London skyline. “That’s Arthur Weasley’s car,” Snape yells. “I’ve got him. Potter’s mine!”

Heaven on Earth 46. Dungeon




Snape patrols the dungeons looking for students out after Curfew. He expects to find some Hufflepuffs, even a Ravenclaw or Gryffindor but no Slytherins. They have a beautiful dungeon common room with a lake view. Why would they want to roam? Severus loves his dungeons. They are so damp and musty. Who needs sunshine and blue skies all the time? Snape continues down the hall when he spots Harry Potter.

“Potter! What are you doing down here after Curfew!” Snape demands. “Gryffindor House is nowhere near here.”

“Looking for you sir. Professor Dumbledore asks me to find you.”

Snape grimaces.

The Escape 47. Portkey

Malfoy Manor Trilogy part 1



Snape feels a pull at his navel as the portkey transports Draco and him from the Hogs Head. They arrive at Malfoy Manor. Narcissa opens the door and immediately hugs her son. Bellatrix watches the reunion from the entry hall.

“The Dark Lord won’t be pleased,” Bellatrix snickers. She smiles. Snape failed in his mission.

“Lucius and I are forever in your debt,” Narcissa says as she leads them into the house.

“Where is the Dark Lord?” Snape asks.

“The library,” Narcissa says.

Severus bows in front of his master.

“Dumbledore is dead my lord.”

“And the boy?” Voldemort asks.

Malfoy Manor Trilogy part two



“Draco managed to survive.” Snape replies. “Dumbledore was ill when he returned to the castle. Draco disarmed him.”

Voldemort strokes Nagini’s head. “The boy was supposed to die!”

“Dumbledore wouldn’t harm him. He let the boy kill him willingly.”

Voldemort paces. “Dumbledore was a sentimental fool. Only a fool dies without fighting.”

“What do you plan to do with Draco?” Severus asks.

“The boy has proved himself to be more useful than his worthless father.” Voldemort replies. “I will let him live for now. I’ll find another way to punish Lucius.”

“As you wish my lord.” Snape replies.

“Leave me!”

Malfoy Manor Trilogy part 3



Before Severus can leave Bellatrix storms into the room.

“Don’t believe a word he says my lord. Snape is a traitor and a liar.”

Voldemort stops pacing? “Is that true?”

“I don’t know what she’s talking about,” Snape says.

“Draco told me everything. He didn’t kill Dumbledore. Snape did, and he didn’t kill Dumbledore until he begged him to do it my lord.”

Voldemort hits her with the Cruciatus Curse.

“I’m going to ignore your accusations, Bellatrix. Your family is on thin ice as it is. Don’t try my patience. It’s not limitless. I will execute everyone of you myself.”

Shall We Dance? 49. Yule Ball


The Yule Ball Trilogy part 1


“Let the Yule Ball begin.” Dumbldore claps his hands. The tables move to the side exposing the dance floor. The head table disappears too. The Triwizard Tournament champions and their dates dance first. Snape watches them dance. Madame Maxime moves closer to him.

“It’s customary for the headmasters to join the champions,” Madam Maxime says. “Would you like to dance with me?”

Severus looks around. He wonders who Madame Maxime is talking to.

“Professor Snape would be delighted,” Dumbledore says. “Wouldn’t you Severus?”

“Of course,” Snape says octaves higher than normal with a panic look on his face. “Shall we?”

Yule Ball Trilogy part 2



Madame Maxime grabs Snape’s hand and drags him onto the dance floor. Severus tries to figure out where his hands should go on this enormous woman. He carefully puts his hand on her waist and take Olympia’s other hand. Snape starts a slow waltz. Olympia pulls him closer to her. Severus can’t breath. His head is buried in her bossoms.

“You dance divinely Severus, may call you Severus?” Olympia asks.

Snape’s answer is garbled. Minerva and Albus laugh at the ridiculous pair. Hagrid blood boils.

“Snape is dancing way too close to Olympie,” Hagrid fumes. “That’s just not right.”

The Yule Ball Trilogy part 3



“Calm down Hagrid.” Minerva says. “They’re only dancing.

“They’re dancing all wrong. Madame Maxime, is headmistress of Beaubaton,” Hagrid grumbles. “She shouldn’t be dancing like that with Snape.”

Olympia asked Severus to dance. If it’s okay with her, I don’t see why you should mind,” Minerva adds.

Olympia dips Snape. He looks like he’s going to puke.

“Now he’s gone too far!” Hagrid storms over and grabs Snape’s wrist. Severus staggers gasping for breath.

“What’s wrong? Why are you so angry? Olympia asks.

“I want to dance with you,” Hagrid demands.

“All you had to do is ask.” Olympia smiles.

St. Patrick’s Day at Hogwarts 48. Leprechaun



It’s St. Patrick’s Day at Hogwarts and all through the castle
No sign of celebrating can we hear.

Seems a nasty Englishman by the name of Snape
Has decreed no celebrating this year.

The students are angry.
They can’t believe their ears.

Semus sends an urgent plea
For the leprechauns to come here

They hear the students’ fears.
The leprechauns come here.
Bringing good cheer.

Snape aims his wand.
No spell appears.
A leprechaun makes his wand spurt good cheer.

Snape screams and swells.
The students yell.

The Order of the Phoenix 51. Act



Dumbledore calls the meeting of the Order at Number 12 Grimald Place.

“Everyone is here except Severus. We can start the meeting. Tonks, can you fill Severus in on what he’s missed?”

Tonks frowns. Dumbledore continues with the meeting. There is a knock at the front door. Tonks goes to answer it tripping over the umbrella stand. She lets Snape in. He notices the overturned stand.

“Imbecile! You could trip over your own two feet Tonks!” Snape yells.

“Must you always act so obnoxious,” Tonks asks frowning.

“Must you always be so clumsy,” Snape retorts.

Tonks sticks out her tongue.

Boom!!! 52.Bore



Tonks arrives at Potion Class. Professor Snape stands at his desk. He bores hole in a cauldron. When he finishes, Severus takes it to Tonks’s desk. She looks inside.

“Today class, you will be brewing the Wolfbane Potion. Begin!”

Tonks raises her hand.

“Miss Tonks, what is your problem?”

My cauldron has holes bored in it. How can I brew the potion in it?”

“That’s the idea. You have already blown up three cauldrons, and it’s only Tuesday.”

“Those weren’t my fault. The cauldrons were defective.”

“I rest my case. The holes should prevent you from blowing this one up.”

The Mouse Trap 53. Chase



Harry, Ron, and Hermione are enjoying the sun on the grounds. Snape suddenly runs out the front doors brandishing his wand.

“What’s gotten into Snape?” Harry asks.

“You don’t think Snape’s chasing students because they haven’t done their homework,” Ron asks sheepishly.

“Stop you mangy rat!” Snape yells

“I don’t think he’s chasing a student Ron,” Hermione adds. “I think he’s chasing Scabbers.”

“You ate my imported Camembert cheese,” Snape yells. He shoots a stunner spell at Scabbers.

“Professor Snape, don’t hurt him!” Ron yells. He runs after Snape.

“Who knew Professor Snape ate imported Camembert Cheese?” Hermione asks smiling.

Just Another Interrogation 54. Dare


I administer the Veritaserum to Cardoc Dearborn. After a few minutes he spills his guts. Rodolphus uses a Quick Quote Quill to make sure everything is written down. My job is done.

“If you don’t need me for anything else….” Severus inquires as he leaves the room.

“You’ve forgotten something,” Bella responds. “Dearborn is your responsibility.”

“I don’t do that!” Snape growls.

“The Dark Lord says you do. Do I have to double dare you?”

“I’m not a child Bella. Quit treating me like one,” Snape snaps at her.

“Then kill him already!”

Snape turns. “Avada Kedavra!!”

Dearborn slumps over.
