●○57. Gape○● ●○57. Gape○● Slamming his cup of coffee down on the table in the Professor’s private chamber, Salazar was so upset that he was almost blowing steam out his nose and ears. “She shouldn’t have the right to address me,” he hissed. “I should be allowed to call her whatever I want considering she one of those filthy muggleborns.” “Salazar! She is a student at this school and is to be treated with respect,” Helga exclaimed gaping at his behavior. “If you look at it logically, students who come from pureblood families would benefit the most from History of Magic,” Rowena replied calmly. |
●○66. Pace○● ●○66. Pace○● Helga marched into the Hufflepuff common room still infuriated at the outburst Salazar had had during their coffee break time. Seeing several of her students hunched over the study tables working hard on a homework assignment, she softened her expression. “What assignment are you all working on?” she asked in a sing song voice. “Professor Slytherin’s assignment on pureblood families and this significance in wizarding history,” groaned one boy. “He expects us to already have a basic knowledge,” sobbed one girl. “I took the class to get that basic knowledge!” “Just pace yourselves and the knowledge will come,” Helga smiled. |
●○75. Yodel○● ●○75. Yodel○● Deciding to make the rounds and observe the other classes, Salazar opened the doors to the music room where one of the horrid muggle professors Godric insisted they hire stood waving a baton around like a fool. Standing in the back of the room for a moment, Salazar frowned deeper and deeper as he heard the students singing some awful melody that sounded like a hiffogriff being killed. “What is this atrocity?” he hissed grabbing the baton from the professor. “Yodeling, sir,” she squeaked in fear. Yet another unwanted thing from the muggle world. “You will cease teaching this instant.” |
●○83. Fearful○● ●○83. Fearful○● It had been months since Salazar had forced her into a tight embrace and kissed her passionately on the lips. She had tried her best to put the thought of his lips on hers out of her mind, but a lingering fear remained in the pit of her stomach. No matter what she tried, the flavor of fresh cherries remained on her lips like a toxin. Salazar was always insistent on bringing her drink at meals, with each passing day, the flavor of cherries became stronger and she was beginning to fantasize about him. What was he doing to her? |
●○95. Snowball○● ●○95. Snowball○● { Christmas } mini challenge Rowena had seemed a bit uneasy recently, so Godric thought a trip to Hogsmeade was in order. Putting a small box in his pocket, he hurried outside where Rowena was already waiting. As the two walked, Godric transfigured the box in his hand and hissed at the sudden cold in his pocket. “What’s wrong?” Rowena asked holding onto his arm as the snow continued to fall around them. “I…I…” he stammered pulling a ball of snow from his pocket and setting it in her hand. It melted instantly and in its place was a diamond ring. “Happy Christmas,” he smiled. |
●○4. Ancient Runes○● ●○4. Ancient Runes○● Rowena had probably been staring at the ring for a good ten minutes with a look of utter shock on her alabaster face. Was he asking what she thought he was? Looking into loving eyes, she knew it to be the truth. Nodding and giggling like a school girl, she spoke. “You know, some people use diamond when carving Kenaz since it is the rune that symbolizes passion and love.” Godric rolled his eyes as he put the ring on her finger and kissed it gently. “Leave it to you to talk about something smart at a time like this.” |
●○10. Arithmancy○● ●○10. Arithmancy○● Now that all the students were back from the holidays, the four friends were back to their busy routine – which was very good for Rowena and Godric since they were not sure how to break the news to Helga and, especially, Salazar. She was careful to keep her ring off during the day as there was no telling how Salazar would react. Consulting her number chart for a moment, Rowena’s smile turned to a frown. “That can’t be right,” she said as the cherry flavor in her mouth became overpowering. “How can my character number be more compatible with Salazar?” |
●○29. Pensieve○● ●○29. Pensieve○● She knew she shouldn’t snoop, but something that Salazar had been brewing had caught her attention as it smelled like fresh vanilla and pickled plums. Rowena said she smelled cherries, but Helga thought the woman was loopy. Casting alohomora on the door, Helga pushed it open, peered inside and immediately noticed a cauldron with some sort of pink liquid in. Her attention was then drawn to large basin with a silvery fluid in it. Leaning over it, she found herself whisked away to the dungeons where Salazar stood brewing the very potion in his office. “I have to warn Rowena!” |
●○39. Duel○● ●○39. Duel○● The door to Salazar’s office swung open and Helga’s head shot around to see her so-called friend looking angrier than a Hungarian Horntail with his wand pointed at her. Asking no questions, he cast a spell towards her which she was able to deflect at the last moment before sending a stunning spell back at him. A green light hissed inches away from her face. “You filthy little…” he spat casting another spell and hitting her square in the back before she could run away. Standing over her paralyzed body, Salazar grinned. “No muggle-lover is going to stop me. Obliviate!” |
●○42. Portraits○● ●○42. Portraits○● “Mr. Gryffindor, would you mind getting a little closer to Ms. Ravenclaw please?” the painter requested adjusting his easel a bit to the right. Godric flashed Rowena a mischievous smile at the mention of the word Miss. Rowena certainly was not that anymore. “Stop staring and just move,” Salazar hissed looking out the window. “I have some important things to attend to.” “Brewing another potion or something?” Rowena laughed. “Something like that,” he whispered looking back at her with hungry eyes. “I present you, the Four Hogwarts Founders,” the painter exclaimed turning his easel around to show them the painting. |
●○51. Act○● ●○51. Act○● After hanging his portrait up, Salazar hurried over to the bookshelf, pulled on a vibrant green book to reveal a secret entrance containing the cauldron with the potion he had been brewing. “Just in time,” he cackled taking a ladle full and pouring it into a goblet. “Rowena, you will be mine.” Setting the goblet down on the table, he went over his notes to make sure that he wasn’t going to poison her since he had been feeding her small amounts of the potion since the beginning of last term. “Yes, the time to act is finally at hand.” |
●○62. Lope○● ●○62. Lope○● Helga twirled a quill in her hands as she stared out the window aimlessly. Whereas their first term at Hogwarts had seemed to passed in the blink of an eye, this new term was barely even jogging along. She, once again, hadn’t been appointed the Charms professor which made her depressed along with two of her best friends always wandering off alone together leaving her to deal with the snake. Helga’s head had been a bit fuzzy recently and she always got a sharp ting on the side of her head when she looked at Salazar. What was she forgetting? |
●○71. Untie○● ●○71. Untie○● Salazar was beginning to feel a bit guilty about what he was about to do. He really did love Rowena with every ounce of his being. He might even like muggles if she demanded. Holding the pink liquid in a flask, he made his way to the kitchen when he heard giggling. Opening the door just a crack, Salazar saw Godric and Rowena, their bodies locked in a deep embrace. Salazar hissed as he looked at his friend who KNEW how he felt about Rowena. Slamming the door, he vowed that whatever string tied them together had now been severed. |
●○87. Plaid○● ●○87. Plaid○● Spreading out a plaid blanket on the grass in the shade of a tree, Godric grinned up at Rowena who had her long raven locks down for the first time in a long time. “Your seat,” he said resisting the urge to call her by another last name. “Don’t mind if I do,” she smiled. “A gift, from Salazar,” Godric smiled pouring them both a glass of wine. “Really?” she exclaimed smelling is sweet aroma. Was that…cherries? Clanging their glasses together, Rowena took a sip and immediately felt dizzy and it wasn’t long before she collapsed against the cool grass. |
●○99. Newspaper○● ●○99. Newspaper○● Helga was reading a newspaper being put on by her Hufflepuff students and had a good chuckle at a comment about Salazar being so slimy that it was amazing his robes stayed on. “They say Ravenclaws have all the brains,” she giggled turning the page and was about to read about the latest couple’s gossip when Godric came bursting through the door holding an unconscious Rowena in his arms. “What happened?!” she shrieked jumping out of her chair and pushing everything off her desk. “Set her down here.” Helga swore she smelled vanilla and pickled plums on the woman’s lips. |
●○7. Care of Magical Creatures○● ●○7. Care of Magical Creatures○● { all kinds of hearts } mini challenge Rowena had to remain in the hospital wing for a few weeks to make sure that she recovered. The Healer wasn’t sure what caused her to collapse the way she had, but they assured Godric that she would make a full recovery. As he sat down beside her bed and reached out for her had. Looking at her fragile body, he felt like he was taking care of an ailing unicorn instead of the woman he loved. Her eyes fluttered open and her eyes pierced the air. “Salazar? Where is my love?” Godric felt his heart shatter in his chest. |
●○13. Quidditch○● ●○13. Quidditch○● He needed to get out, get away from the castle…take his mind of things. More specifically, he needed to forget the image of Rowena throwing the diamond ring at him and the sting from where her hand had made contact with his cheek. Mounting his broom, he took off into the clear sky when a small round yellow bird appeared in front of his face and seemed to be taunting Godric to try and catch it. Chuckling lightheartedly, he leaned forward and began to chase the bird zigzagging across the sky. “We should really make a sport out of this!” |
●○74. x-tinguish○● ●○74. x-tinguish○● Salazar sat in the large brown leather chair in his office knowing that it wouldn’t be much longer until she came. He had heard about her collapsing on another sickening date with him, and it didn’t surprise him at all. He had put double the dosage of Amortentia in the wine. He wasn’t sure what he was going to do if Godric drank first, but Salazar knew he would refrain to watch Rowena’s delicate lips kiss the cup. The door to his office swung open and a smile crept across his face. Snapping his fingers, he extinguished all the candles. |
●○82. Careful○● ●○82. Careful○● Helga wandered the castle looking for Rowena so that they could discuss their joint lesson coming up. Knocking on her friend’s door, she squeaked with surprise to see that Salazar was the one who opened it. “What are you doing here?” she snapped putting her hands on her hips. “Am I not allowed to visit a dear friend during the day?” he responded with a smirk. “Godric is going to figure out what you did to her and when he does…” “He should wary about his quest,” he hissed. “And you shouldn’t be sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong.” |
●○100. Homework○● ●○100. Homework○● Helga hurried through the corridors until she emerged from the castle and into the fresh air. Something wasn’t right and she had no idea why. What was Salazar up to? Why had Rowen suddenly told Godric that she wanted nothing to do with him? She had even witnessed the raven-haired woman throw a ring at him. Flopping down on the grass by the Black Lake, Helga sighed and looked over her shoulder at the castle. Everything they had worked for was falling apart. Godric had given himself an assignment, now she had one as well. Time to get to work. |
●○1. Herbology○● ●○1. Herbology○● Godric felt a little remorse having snuck into the greenhouses and ramshackle the professor’s supply cabinet until he found an ample supply of Essence of Dittany. He knew it wasn’t the best remedy, but it was his only option seeing as he couldn’t go and speak to the Potions Snake for advice. “Rowena!” he called when he saw the raven-haired girl walking through the corridor. She turned on her heels and glared at him. “Gift from Salazar,” he said handing her the vial. “Lovely!” she smiled drinking the entire thing. She wobbled for a moment and collapsed into Godric’s arms. |
●○15. Room○● ●○15. Room○● Rowena’s eyes fluttered opened and she found herself in a crimson room trimmed with golden decorations. She knew instantly that she was in Godric room, but how had she gotten here? Sitting up, she held her head and felt like she had woken up from a horrifying nightmare. Putting her hand on her stomach, she felt that it hadn’t been that, it had been a sickening reality that would haunt her forever. She looked to her right and saw Godric asleep in his chair. He must have been there all night. “Godric,” she said touching his hand gently. “What happened?” |
●○27. Owl○● ●○27. Owl○● Godric frowned at Rowena’s question. He didn’t want to play the role of the owl now and deliver the horrible realization that Salazar had been using one of his love concoctions for half a year now. It wasn’t that he was doing it to protect his best mat, he just wanted her safe and happy. “You…you went away for a long time,” he said sadly. “But, none of that matters now. You are back now, with me.” He took a hold of her hand and placed the ring she had thrown at him in its rightful place on her finger. |
●○32. Common room○● ●○32. Common room○● Godric waited outside the Slytherin common room’s entryway waking for Salazar to slither his way out after tucking in his snakes to bed…or whatever it was he did every night. He picked his head up when he heard footsteps approaching and saw Salazar looking at him with a sneer on his face. “What do you want?” “I know what you did,” Godric snapped clenching his hands into fists. Salazar hissed and reached for his wand. “I didn’t tell her,” Godric continued. “I’m not protecting you. I’m protecting this school .” Hissing again, Salazar stormed passed Godric and vanished from sight. |
●○46. Dungeon○● ●○46. Dungeon○● Salazar made haste through the castle like a mist traveling in the dead of night until he reached his secret chamber well beneath the grounds of Hogwarts. Speaking in a low whisper, his precious pet slithered his way towards his master. “You have grown my pet,” he smiled stroking its scaly head. “But not nearly quickly enough.” Yes, his pet would be able to fend for itself now, but it would not be able to rid the school of its filth yet. A wicked smile tickled its way across his lips. His plan for the future was already in place. |
