“You’re crazy. Why would you buy one of those? They are not practical.” Lily said, crossing her arms over her chest.
“I thought it would be fun. Come on Lily please!” Then he gave her the puppy-dog eyes.
“Fine.” She caved, and seated herself behind him. He turned the motorcycle on with a roar, and so nobody could hear her, Lily mumbled, “It sure isn’t a Ford Anglia.” | |

“Lily!” The screeching of her name from the living room made her turn away from the dishes. Running footsteps reached her ears and soon she found the culprit.
“James, what is wrong?” she asked.
“I am fearful for my life. Hide me.” He replied, jumping underneath the kitchen table.
“Wh-” she stopped when she heard growling coming toward the kitchen. The smell of wet dog reached her nose and she made a disgusted face.
An angry, black dog then walked in soaking wet, barring his teeth.
“Did James push you in the pool again, Sirius?” she asked with a chuckle.

“What?” James asked, adjusting his glasses. He looked up and saw a tree swinging viciously in the air toward them. They were too far to be hit by its branches, but they could still feel the wind slapping toward them.
“That is the Whomping Willow.” Remus said quietly next to them.

James then began speaking in another language, but the tree continued to batter at them.
“I don’t think the tree speaks parseltounge mate.” Sirius chuckled. James scowled at him and continued to talk in his foreign language.
When the tree froze, everybody looked at James in amazement. Even he looked amazed. “I did it!”
“No. I did.” Remus said, holding a stick.

Moving was exhausting. James didn’t know how much work it was to move into a new house. Walking into the leaving room, he sat down on the couch. He then laid back and let his eyes close.
“James what are you doing?” A voice said to his left.
“Taking a nap.” James replied, not opening his eyes. He heard Lily groan.
“You can’t tell me you are tired already.” She said.
“Moving is tiring work.”
“We haven’t even started yet! All you have done is move the couch into this room.”
“It’s time to take a break.” James replied sleepily.

The Dark Lord was here. James had no idea how he found out where they were hiding, but it was inevitable. All he could do know was try to brush up on his Defense Against The Dark Arts and hope that it was enough to keep Lily and Harry safe.
His palms were sweaty and the hairs on the back of his neck were standing up, but his wand in his hand was steady. He was ready for him.
As a flash of green light sped toward James, all he could think of was how he had failed his family.

Not Harry. Anybody but her son. Why was this happening? Weren’t they safe? How could the Dark Lord find them?
Lily barricaded herself in Harry’s room. He was sleeping peaceful in his crib. The sight of him made her want to cry out.
Could all this be happening just because she wasn’t a Pureblood?
She heard a blast downstairs, and Harry stirred. Quickly she picked him up to keep him calm. Another blast and a body fell to the floor. Tears began to flow down her cheeks when she didn’t hear a victory cheer from James. This was the end.

She could hear Sirius laughing in the background, which was not helping with her temper. When she didn’t see her husband, Lily sighed and went over to extinguish the fire coming from the stove.
Just as she finished, James walked in carrying a Quidditch magazine. “What happened?”
He received a sharp glare from his wife, making him slowly back away from the kitchen.

James jumped out of his chair as he heard Lily scream bloody murder in the bedroom. He ran as fast as he could and found her huddling in the corner. Turning around he found what had her so cowering. He looked into the eyes of Lord Voldermort and pulled out his wand.
“Stupefy!”
When the flash of red light made Voldermort stagger back, James tilted his head. He then realized that this wasn’t Voldermort.
“Riddikulus!”
The boggart exploded into little pieces, as James turned back around to his wife.
“Are you okay?”
His heart broke when she burst into tears.

“OW!” He yelped and gave the owl an angry look before taking the letter around its leg.
It was from Lily! And she wanted to go on a date with him! He read through it again not believing his eyes. Could she actually want to be with him now? James didn’t need telling twice and he took off to Hogsmeade.

“James I’m so glad you came!” The red head said dramatically and wrapped their arms around him.

“Sirius and the guys are expecting me any minute. I need to hurry.” James said, rushing into the bathroom.
“This is important though.” Lily frowned.
“Okay.” James said and stopped in front of her. “What is it?”
But as her husband watched her Lily couldn’t seem to form words. Instead she reached for his hand and placed it on her stomach. He seemed to understand without her saying anything and hugged her tightly.
“I thought you had somewhere to be.”
“I do. Right here.”
