“You’re crazy. Why would you buy one of those? They are not practical.” Lily said, crossing her arms over her chest.
“I thought it would be fun. Come on Lily please!” Then he gave her the puppy-dog eyes.
“Fine.” She caved, and seated herself behind him. He turned the motorcycle on with a roar, and so nobody could hear her, Lily mumbled, “It sure isn’t a Ford Anglia.” | |

James began to panic. Was it their anniversary? Valentines Day? Mother’s Day?
“Why?” he asked skeptically.
“I can’t just get you a present?” she asked, giving him a cheerless look.
“Sure, you can.” James said, still really suspicious.
She smiled and motioned for him to follow. He trailed behind her and entered Harry’s nursery.
“The present is in here?” James asked.
“Yes.” Lily smiled. She lifted Harry from out of his crib and handed her son to James. He looked at her with a confused look.
“The present is in Harry’s diaper.”

James then watched as the mousy brown haired boy he had met on the train was placed into Gryffindor. Remus Lupin was his name. James was beginning to grow nervous.
Peter was placed into Gryffindor next. James was now panicking. What if he was placed in another house from all his friends?
”If I get placed in Slytherin, I’m switching schools.” He thought, eyeing the Sorting Hat.

James rolled over on the couch. Without opening his eyes he responded, “What?”
“Have you seen my wand?” Lily asked from the kitchen. He could hear the kitchen sink, meaning she was doing dishes.
“Nope.” James replied.
“You’re watching Harry right? Not sleeping on the couch?”
“Watching Harry.” He said, smiling to himself.
Opening his eyes, he found his son sitting on the ground. He rubbed at his eyes sleepily and saw that Harry had something in his mouth. James sat up and tried to hold in his chuckles, seeing what it was.
“I found your wand Lily!”

“Why don’t you go look it up?” Lily rolled her eyes.

Peter looked confused, a cautious look was on Remus’ face, and Sirius had a humorous sparkle in his eyes.
“Good morning Professor. You look very vexing today.” James grinned.
Sirius burst out laughing, Remus frowned, and Peter still looked confused. James ignored them and watched as the Transfiguration professor narrowed her eyes at him.
“Detention Potter.”
Lily looked smug as she sat down in her seat.

“I’ve never gotten anything lower than an ‘Exceeds Expectations’ and now I’m getting an ‘Acceptable’?” she said, picking up the newspaper subconsciously.
“There’s a first for everything.” James said optimistically.
Lily scowled at him and threw the newspaper at his head, not liking his answer, and left to her dormitory.

“Who did you see die?” Lily whispered, stepping closer to James.
“I saw the thing on top of Snape’s head die.” James said, his lips twitching into a smile. Severus turned sharply and threw James a glare.

“That was not funny James Potter!” she screamed, stomping on his foot.
“Ow!” James jumped up on his left foot, holding his right foot, which was now throbbing painfully.
“What is going on back there?” The professor called, looking annoyed.
“Nothing professor. ” Lily replied, still looking heated. The professor went on with his lesson like nothing happened, while James continued to rub his sore foot.

Lost. That was the only way to describe James Potter’s situation. He turned left, then right, then left again to find himself going down another unfamiliar corridor. Still lost. He let out a frustrated growl, before continuing on his search for his common room.
Just as he was about to turn the corner, he stopped when he heard soft crying coming from the classroom to his left. Confusion overtook the first years face before he tip-toed over to the door. He quietly opened the door to find a girl with dark red hair and tears in her emerald green eyes.

The girl still looked so sad. He wanted to cheer her up.

Tears were still threatening to roll down Lily’s cheeks but she held them back. She was going to have to quell on them until the boy left.
Immediately she grew defensive as he asked her if she was crying. She didn’t like to let other people see her cry. It was the reason why she was hiding in a classroom rather than her dormitory.
Apparently the boy was lost. After she told him where to find his dormitory, she held her breath in hopes that he would leave.
But instead he said something so random, she couldn’t help but smile.

“What do you want?” he yawned.
“We have Astronomy in five minutes.” Sirius said.

“Flowers will be there.”
This got him out of bed. He threw on some clothes and rushed out of the dormitory. When he got to the Astronomy tower, nobody was there.
He heard a hooting, and saw an owl drop a piece of parchment. James picked it up and read the words: Astronomy is tomorrow. It’s what you get for giving Flowers my only quill.

James immediately jumped off his bed and made a beeline to the door. He was almost there when he stepped on something that made him bounce off the wall. His hands flew out and he landed fast first into the floor. Rolling over, he found a telescope rolling away from him and Sirius with tears in his eyes.
