“You’re crazy. Why would you buy one of those? They are not practical.” Lily said, crossing her arms over her chest.
“I thought it would be fun. Come on Lily please!” Then he gave her the puppy-dog eyes.
“Fine.” She caved, and seated herself behind him. He turned the motorcycle on with a roar, and so nobody could hear her, Lily mumbled, “It sure isn’t a Ford Anglia.” | |

“Come on Evans, live a little.” Sirius chuckled.
“This is stupid. What if we are caught?” Lily groaned, stepping down the stairs with James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter. Why she was going, she didn’t know.
“We never get caught.” James grinned.
Sirius then let out a high-pitched scream. “A rat!”
Lily began laughing uncontrollably, noticing it wasn’t a rat.
“Sirius, it’s only a kneazle.” Remus said calmly.
“Yeah. I knew that.” Sirius said, looking sheepish, as Lily giggled.

“Mate, you screamed like a girl.” James chuckled.
“Shut it Potter.”
“How can you be scared of rats? I become one all the time.” Peter said, his eyes confused.
“I’m not scared of rats.” Sirius snapped.
“Mate, you’re scared of rats.” James laughed again.

“Pixie wings. I need them for a potion.” Remus replied.
“What kind of potion?” Lily questioned. She had a suspicious look in her eyes, and Remus ran his hand through his hair nervously.
“Um…”
“Sweet! A pair of dragonhide gloves! I’ve been needing a new pair.” James said excitedly, picking them up from a table.
“James those aren’t yours.” Lily frowned, forgetting about her question to Remus.
“Finders keepers, losers weepers.” James grinned. Lily sighed.

One torch after another ignited suddenly, lighting the room up.
“Who’s there?”
“Crap!” Lily whispered. She then felt herself being pulled down roughly by four sets of hands. Trying not to panic, she hid herself behind a desk with the four boys.
“You’re up Wormtail.” James whispered.
Peter nodded and Lily watched as he began to shrink. She then watched as a rat ran toward the caretaker.
“Bloody rats!” The caretaker growled and rushed out of the room, the torches going out along with him.

“Alright. I’m done.” Lily said and walked up to the girl’s dormitory.
“No you are Evans!” Sirius called after her.
“Sirius, she was going to help us with our essay. Good job scaring her off.” Remus shook his head.
Sirius thought about it for a minute before yelling, “Evans! Come back! We need your help.”

“Lily! That was my hand!” James complained. Moments before he had his wand aimed behind Peter’s back. A mischievous grin on his face.

Peter raised his wand again.

Peter blinked.
“Sorry, me again.” Lily giggled again. This time Sirius was holding his hand, a scowl on his lips.

Hearing a tapping on the window, James turned his head to see a large sandy brown barn owl peaking inside. Walking over to let it in, he hoped Lily wasn’t too upset with him. Opening the window, he watched as the owl flew inside and landed on the couch, offering his leg to Lily. She turned to look at the creature and she took the letter. The owl then gave her a friendly hoot, before flying back out the window.
“Who is from?” James asked, stepping toward her cautiously.
“The headmaster.” Lily replied, confused.

She glanced up at him surprised.
“I’m sorry Lily.” He sighed, rubbing his eyes underneath his glasses. “I think I’m going to head to bed.”
He didn’t wait for her response, before he walked up the stairs and into the bedroom. He turned the light off and walked over to the bed. Fighting with Lily was affecting him more than he let on. He hated it. Falling onto the bed, he didn’t even bother taking his glasses off. He was too down to even think about it.

“What’s wrong?” James asked, seeing her face.
“The chair rocks.” She said, and showed him.
“I’ll fix it.” James said, and stood up. He then took his History of Magic book out and placed it underneath the chair.
“Is that how you treat all your books?” she asked incredulously.
“That is what they are for.” James replied, with a shrug.

“Essay for Arithmancy.” Lily replied.
“What class?”
She gave him a look before saying, “Arithmancy.”
“Say it again.”
“Arithmancy.”
“Arithmetic?”
“No. Arithmancy.” Lily said, getting annoyed.
“I have never heard of this class before.” James said scratching his head.
“Yes you have. You and Sirius left a dungbomb in his classroom before.”
“No. We would never do that.” James grinned, waving his hand at her.
“Can I finish my essay?”
“I don’t know. You can try.” She looked back down at her essay when James grabbed her attention again.
“What class is that for?”
