60. Joke The Slytherins filled into the auditorium to hear success speeches of former Hogwarts students who passed their OWLS. Olivia tried to listen to the speeches, but Alex kept leaning over and making jokes; distracting her from what the people were saying. He made it look like he was paying attention, so he wouldn’t loose house points. But actually, he wasn’t! Was Olivia the only one who noticed? The other kids giggled at Alex’s wit, but Olivia refused to laugh at his comments. Why couldn’t he take things seriously, actually what was so wrong with taking things seriously anyway? Olivia wondered. |
Olivia mixed up an explosive potion to play a trick on someone for april fools day. She brought it to class, but it was awkward to hide. Now who would be stupid enough not to notice? Katrina! Everyone began making the first draft of the potion, Katrina was having trouble, perfect! “Hey Kat, I finished early and I made one for you too”. Katrina took the potion “Thanks Olivia!” she said. She soon as she added the next ingredient. “boom!” The potion went up in black smoke. “Cough, cough” Katrina’s face was covered in black powder. “Happy April Fools Kat!” |
16. Dragon Hide Gloves The crowd cheered wildly as the champions entered the stadium. The Quiditch school games were here, and Olivia’s team walked onto the pitch in a single file line to meet and greet their opponents. The players shook hand as they passed by each other. Olivia extended her hand to the first person, their hand was brown and cracked; it reminded Olivia of the Dragon hide gloves that were used in Herbology. Could this player be a dragon tamer? The Hogwarts girl wondered. She would be watching this opponent during the game as her target. Something about them just seemed creepy. |
99. Trunk Olivia was reading a book called “A day in the life of Harry Potter, famous wizard”. Apparently he had lived a horrible home life with muggle caretakers. Olivia read on. “Potter, get that blasted trunk out of here” Uncle Vernon bellowed up the stairs. The hurried boy navigated his hogwarts trunk down the steps and into the front Hall. “If you could just drive me to the train station” protested Harry. “If you did that, I’d be out of your hair!”. Dudley, Harry’s pig of a cousin entered the room. “What makes you think he will drive you?” he drawled. |
45. Licorice Wand The book Olivia was reading was so good, that she couldn’t put it down... Harry opened his books at the Dursly’s kitchen table. They knew he was a wizard, so why should it bother the ministry if he merely studied in front of them. After all, he wasn’t actually showing them what he was reading. Aunt Petunia came in and swept the floors, Harry removed some wizarding candy out of his bag. “What do you have there Potter?” came Petunia’s voice. “A magic wand! Don’t cast any freak spells!”. Harry calmly replied, “It’s made of licorice”. And he smiled pleasantly. |
15. Room Accio globe, accio quill, wingardium leviosa! There was plenty of room in here for spell practice, Olivia was so bored of waiting that it was all she could do there. She had arrived on time for her detention, but the professor had not! Mid accio, the door opened and the professor walked into the room. Olivia turned her focus the door but unfortunately the crystal ball that she was transporting crashed to the ground spilling glass across the floor. “That’s two more detentions Miss Wenesko” the professor said, scribbling something onto her clipboard. “It was an accident, honest” Olivia said. |
20. Hogsmede “Where do you think this goes?” Katrina asked, she furrowed her brow and lifted the latch on a trap door in the floor of Honeydukes in Hogsmede. “It probably just leads to the seller” Olivia replied. She heard a creaking noise comming from Katrina’s direction, “I wouldn’t be so sure about that” Kat said, revealing a stairwell and passage underneath the trap door. “Let’s follow it, shhh. Don’t let anybody see”. Olivia and Katrina snuck down the secret passage. It was a really long walk. When they came to the end there was a sign the said; “Property of Hogwarts”. |
22. Kneazel “Who’s cat do you think that is?” said Olivia, her friends didn’t know. There was a feline roaming around near the bushes. It had spotted fur and large ears, all the better to hear them with cause it came right over. “I think it likes you” said Katrina. Katrina held out a piece of candy in front of the cat, it sat, and didn’t move a muscle. This animal looked like it had a high level of intelligence. “It isn’t even a cat at all, it’s a Kneazel” Olivia said. It must be a stray, she decided to report it. |
10. Arithmancy http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a.../firework2.jpg No matter what Darby Finnigan did, we knew it was going to be hilarious. He liked trying to pull off pranks, hence the word trying; but even when his attempts failed they turned out to be funny anyway. Olivia gathered with the other students, all eyes on Darby. He squinted his dark brown eyes as he lit a firework, as inconspicuously as possible; in the middle of Arithmancy. It exploded all right! Going off with a bang, the firework erupted like dynamite instead of a light show. The desk was covered in dust, and Darby's hair was standing on end. |
24. House Elf "I never found out what was going on with the house elves that one semester" Olivia said to her friends at the house table. "Its like everything quieted down about it, none of the professers have told us anything. Maybe they are keeping a secret" Katrina replied. "Maybe the elves were tied in with the creatures that are going haywire in the forest" said Olivia. "Cause house elves are creatures too, ,they were probably affected by whatever was in the forest". "That's scary" Rachel replied, "It happened right inside Hogwarts!". "Don't worry, it will all be figured out" Olivia replied. |
43. Headmaster Olivia waited atop the stairs, she had never been sent on a mission to see the Headmaster before; this made her feel especially important. She fiddled with the twine tying the package, so curious that by the time the Headmaster showed up; Olivia would have already opened the package; and its contents whether evil or not, would have taken affect. The stone archway door creaked open, and the Headmaster greeted Olivia to come in. Once in the office, the Slytherin held up the dusty black package. "I found this in the dungeon, I was sent to give it to you". |
49. Yule Ball Olivia had no trouble casting the spell series for her project: Sandy Beach. Sand was spilling out from one end, it would look better once someone got inside. She handed in her box and went to look at the other projects. A girl named Karley had put spruce trees and a campfire in her box, also a sign saying: Camp Yuel. Doesn't yule have to do with Christmas, Olivia thought; like the Yuel Ball? Olivia decided that she would test this one first. Waving her wand in seven circles she said: "magic box, magic wand, take me to camp yule!" |
39. Duel It was time for the dueling club tournament. Olivia stood in the arena, they had to choose their own partners which was the hard part. Most likely no one would choose her because Olivia was a really good dueler. So maybe she wouldn't even have to go. Most people had gone and the teacher called out the next name "Olivia Wenesko". Oh great, now I have to be the one who chooses a partner. Let's play nice for a change, thought Olivia. "I'll go with Katrina" she said. So Olivia practiced firing spells with her friend to win house points. |
61. Kiss And all of a sudden, someone leaned over and kissed her. Olivia was in too much shock to comprehend who it was, she thought she saw a green and sliver tie; so he had to be a Slytherin; and blond hair, she could remember he had blond hair. Although he ran away before she could see his face. Olivia hoped that most people would not remember what happened that night and that they wouldnt ask too many questions. She started coming up with various answers in her head, and played out the kind of questions that she might get asked. |
54. Dare "Hey, I dare you to go over there and kiss Olivia" Josh said. "What? No", the other boy sputtered. Josh spoke again "Not even for a galleon," his friends giggled. "Okay, fine I'll do it. No big deal" the boy gulped, not believing that Josh would even give him the money "but only if you give me the galleon first". Looking a bit duped, Josh flicked a galleon in the boy's direction. After catching the coin and shoving it into his pocket, the boy walked over to where Olivia was standing; this would be way harder then it already looked. |
11. History of Magic http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/decade-1.jpg "Are you staying up to see the great solar flare?" asked Olivia. Rachel paused and said: "I don't know, what's that"? "It's when the sun spurts out a solar flare that has lots of magical energy. It only happens once every decade, I learned about it in history of magic"Olivia replied. Rachel agreed to come. Olivia ran over to her desk and grabbed a strange looking flask; "we can harvest the magical energy too" she said, clicking the lid open and closed. "How do we do that Liv?" Rachel argued, "the sun is miles away"! "With magic" Olivia replied. |
62. Amortenia "Jake is going to fall head over heels for me when he smells this!"announced Olivia. She had just finished concocting an amortenia potion which she was going to wear to class today, like perfume. She sprinkled some on her shirt"When I walk by Jake, he'll smell this, then he'll fall in love with me!" Olivia could smell sawdust, candy and apples, was going to smell good for the rest of the day; so she headed to class to try her plan. Classmates seemed to be magnetized to her, there was hardly any breathing space!"Seems to be working". |
"Ready, heave!" Olivia called, the thirteen year olds lifted the snowman's head on top of the two other massive snowballs. "Did you bring the stuff for the face?" Rachel wondered. Katrina whipped out two pieces of coal, as well as a hat, scarf and pipe. "Yup, I sure did" she said, dusting her hands together "Oh no, I forgot a carrot for the nose!"she wailed, and jokingly hit her hand to her forehead. Olivia russled around in her bag "here, we can use this quill"she said; and stuck the quill into the snowball where the nose should go. |
64. Nap What Jenna had done was so mean, Olivia was going to have to teach her a lesson. Since Jenna had missed DADA, Olivia took the opportunity to fill her in on what was going on. "Hey Jenna, I was told to tell you that we are supposed to wear pajamas to DADA; we're learning about surprise attacks like if we are woken up during a nap. They're actually going to make us fall asleep," the Slytherin specified. "And whoever is our partner has to wake us up with a surprise attack" Olivia briefly considered asking Jenna to be her partner. |
96. Socks Olivia was flipping through a book, one quote said: "What if socks could come out of the wash in pairs?" Losing pairs of socks after they went through the wash annoyed Olivia. They usually ended up in different loads, where one became clean and the other dirty at the same time. One sock would get lost because of that, so then she would have to go out and buy new ones. "I'm going to invent a spell that makes socks come clean, and come out in pairs" she announced, "I'm tired of just using accio all the time, it's so overdone!" |
29. Pensive There were rooms in this mansion that Olivia had never even been in, even though it was hers. She came upon a large fixture covered by a dusty cloth, she pulled it off; the dust clouding off the sheet made her cough. Underneath was a pensive. She wondered who in her family would be keeping a pensive, maybe it was one of her first ancestors. Olivia randomly selected a memory from the shelf. Well I guess it wouldn't hurt to just look at one, thought Olivia She rearranged the other vials on the shelf to be on the safe side. |
30. Feast Olivia poured the memory into the pensive. She'd seen this done before; but how was she supposed to hold her head underwater so so long without suffocating? She guessed that was just the way magic worked sometimes. Olivia held her breath then plunged her head into the pensive. Blurred colors swirled and chattering merry voices could be heard. The scene came into focus, Olivia found herself in the middle of a feast. A waiter carrying a tray rushed by and passed through Olivia as if she were a ghost! I can see them; but they can't see me, she thought. |
32. Common Room Olivia let the sand trickle from one hand to another, the fourteen-year old thought being at the beach was so much fun. Looking up through her sunglasses, she saw the strangest looking bird she had ever seen. It was gray and spotted, with long shaggy wings, "Is that a crane?" Olivia asked. "No it's a seagull" Rachel answered. "That's the biggest seagull I've ever seen in my life!" Olivia replied. Just then, another seagull flapped in. It let out a loud "squawk", then landed on top of someone from Olivia's common room who was sunbathing. "ahahaha" Olivia and Rachel laughed. |
89. Past Olivia went back to explore the mysterious pensive, she hadn't even figured out who's it was. She picked another vial from the shelf and dumped it into the pensive's clear blue water. This time, Olivia ended up in a tower. She ran over to the window and looked out, familiar trees and lake were visible. This tower was hers! The memory must be from someone living here in the past. A banging noise came from behind a door to her right, it had a gap at the top guarded by bars; but the girl was too short to look through. |
33. Classroom http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/a...dsofhearts.jpg Olivia opened up the boxes, she wanted to wear gloves at first; but the professor insisted she didn’t. After handling one dragon heart, handling the rest weren’t so bad after all. “Thank you for helping me set up the classroom Olivia” said the professor “five points to Slytherin house”. “No problem” the girl replied. She set a dragon heart down on each desk, they were going to be used for potion ingredients. The larger, more important dragon heartstrings had already been extracted to be made into wand cores. The small heartstrings that were leftover were being recycled for classroom use. |
