None Note: These drabbles will shift back and forth between time; so the character's age will change to fit the time frame... that is until the final drabble, when I might organize the posts to be in chronological order. Additional: 'Calvin and Hobbes' author Bill Watterson created a strip focusing around the main character 'Calvin' storing a snowball in the freezer to throw at his peer 'Susie'. This is where my idea for the Snowball drabble originated. Credit: Thanks to Mathi (The Three Musketeers' Fort) for the banner I. Sweet Tooth (88)
"I'm telling you, Clara, she loves the stuff!" Paul said and held out another spoonful of lemon cake for his daughter to eat; who was only about one and a half years old.
"I wish you wouldn't give her that. She'll develop a sweet tooth...think of the cavities!"
"It won't do any harm...see?" The man tilted his head as Frida let out a loud laugh and nommed on the cake her father offered her.
Clara sighed lightly and said, "Not much more, okay?" She left the room.
Smiling, Paul let his daughter finish off the rest her cake. |

---"Frida?...You silly girl, come on..." Calvin took his sister's hand and led her along the wooded trail towards their home.
Frida smiled, and looked up at her older brother...her much older brother it seemed. "I was wondering where you'd gone."
"I'm never that far, I doubt I ever will be..." Calvin beamed down at his baby sister---
Frida's eyes opened suddenly as she heard a sort of sound echoeing in her ears, like someone had just yodeled into them. She wasn't a little girl, but rather a twenty two year old woman laying in her bed. 'Another one...'.

Her eyes landed on her large wardrobe and she could faintly hear papers sliding down from their place within it. She walked over to sort things out. Opening the wardrobe a flood of old homework papers spilled out onto the floor; one in particular caught her eye. 'This doesn't belong here...' It was an old drawing Calvin must have drawn when he was around seven or eight of him and Frida, and their mother and father.

"Gonna spook me now as well?" Frida addressed a couple of family portraits in which several of the members were awake. They shook their heads and went on with whatever paintings tend to do. "I need to see mum and dad." She decided and quickly got dressed in some warm clothes and made her way down the main staircase that led to the entranceway. Her hand had just touched the doorhandle when she suddenly stopped and glanced to the right.
Frida gasped as a dark shadow crept along the floor towards her...but it was only Bogey. 'Right...a cat...'.

"Mal?" Frida called the first morning of moving in with her fiance. "Where do you keep your heavy coats?" She opened a storage closet on the second floor, "Nevermind."
She pulled down an old blanket, and something came tumbling out of it and cracked Frida on the bridge of her nose. "Ow!" The woman rubbed her face and looked down at a plaid flask.
Wait. What?
"Were you ever a drunken lumberjack, Mal?"
"Nah, I was an honary Mountie." Malachi replied from the bottom of the stairs. 'Smarty.' A small smile graced Frida's lips as she picked the flask off the floor.

"Well, what about portkeys?" Frida asked her healer as she looked slightly panicked, and on the verge of tears. "Are they safe?"
"Portkeys, floo, apparating and disapparating...they are all safe." Daniella said calmly trying to ease her patient. "Just remember to experience as little stress as possible, OH!" The older woman lifted a stack of papers and booklets off her desk, "Don't forget these my dear. Read them through and owl me if you have any concerns...alright?"
Frida took the stack of information and sighed, trying to comprehend everything. "It'll be okay won't it?"
"Yes. I'm positive."

Frida was growing increasingly more reserved and quiet at work...like some force in the back of her mind was quelling her. She had put away her glass case that held candy in order to have more work space on her desk, and in it's place was a small dish of mints.
She sighed and listened to the quiet sounds of quills scratching against parchment, it surely wouldn't be this calm for long. Her eyes skimmed towards her list of names that she had gathered as possible substitutes for her leave. 'But will I want to come back to the Ministry?'

Frida could hear something...or someone, laughing from not too far away. She was in an open field, though there were a couple boulders nearby. "Someone there?" Frida called out, though received no response.
"Hello?" She could have sworn that there was a flash of green behind the nearest rock. "OW!" A gold coin hit her between the eyes and Frida threw it back angrily. 'Leprechauns!' "Show yourself!" *Clack!* Another coin hit her...
And she awoke. Malachi was still fast asleep next to her, and Bogey was curled up above Frida's head. 'Another crazy dream...third one this week...'. She sighed.

Frida stood outside of her parent's house one day in early February, and was gazing towards border of the forest while sipping a cup of hot chocolate.
Her eyes caught sight of a large stone on the ground move, like it had been kicked...though she couldn't see anything else.
"They came back for the winter." Clara, Frida's mother mentioned just inside the doorway. "Be sure not to feed them scraps this year, okay?"
Frida nodded and continued to watch the ground for movement. It wasn't often that the thestrals settled this close to homes, especially ones that were occupied.

"Your brother never liked astronomy very much, that's why your father gave this to you." Clara said to Frida while looking over an old telescope; which appeared to have had a couple repairs.
"Yeah, dad mentioned a long time ago that he had a feeling I'd get a lot more use out of it than Calvin." Frida couldn't help but laugh a little as she gently took the telescope and packed it away into a velvet-lined trunk.
"What're your plans for it down the line?"
There was a faint smile on Frida's lips. "Maybe I'll pass it along as well..."

"It's a tad too bright for the room I think...something softer-" Frida's sentence ended abruptly as she caught sight of a very pretty, and vaguely familiar woman behind the store counter. "Shaina...right?" Maria whispered into her cousin's left ear. "The veela we met at that concert a while back....I thought she bragged about being a show manager?" "Guess that was a fib." Frida added quietly, deciding to focus her attention on paint colors once more.

It was late autumn, and Frida was walking along the country roads near her parent's home. To her right, a large object caught her eye. It was covered mostly with vines, dark blotches, and tall grass.
The woman stepped through the weeds and pulled aside some of the brush. 'It's a Ford Anglia.' Frida told herself. She had seen a picture of one in her revised Hogwarts, A History book. The car was covered with rust, and the green paint was peeling away. It appeared that it could fall to pieces at any moment. 'But who would leave this here?'

Frida thought as a heavy book fell out of an old pillowcase as she was doing some spring cleaning. 'Arithmancy...' She opened the front cover where 'Frida Bok - Second Year' was written in tiny handwriting.
It made her smile... the thought of how excited she had been to take that class. And yet how she grew to loathe it.
Frida chuckled a little and flipped through the pages where various stick figures had been drawn on the pages. The number of doodles seemed to increase with every new chapter. 'At least I learned how to draw.'

"Yes, mum." Frida said with a smile and bore a hole into her first bit of toast with her knife, chuckling at her mother's disapproving look. "Oh relax. I'm just messing with you." She took a bite of her food...finally.

"Well, I thought the two of you could take some home." Clara said happily and started setting dishes. "Malachi seems so-" She paused after catching her daughter's eye. "-slight."
"He does eat, mum. You think I starve him?"
"Oh! No, no...of course not." Clara said quietly and finished placing the platters down.

"I call them Parseltongues...the name seemed to fit." Leland gave a nod in agreement, "Yeah. Never thought moving my shop out of Hogsmeade would benefit me." 'Parseltongue?' Frida raised a brow. "Indeed, it is a good fit."

"Inside. Now." Frida said to Madeline, one of her best and oldest friend's daughter.
She closed the door of the house with a snap, "There are muggles nearby!" Frida said sternly, pointing to the door. "What made you think that using magic on a neighbor's mailbox was a good thing?"
"I dunno..." Madeline's voice trailed off. She was a small girl, with long auburn hair and brown eyes, and about ten years old.
"Who's wand is this?" Frida held out a maple wand.
"My aunt's...".
Frida tucked the wand away for safe-keeping. 'A duel with a mailbox. What next?'

"...follows me everywhere. It can get rather annoying sometimes." A very familiar man's laughter followed those words.
Frida, who sat across from him at the Leaky Cauldron, couldn't seem to muster the strength to look up at the man.
"How are you?" He asked; happiness was very much present in the man's voice. Frida, looked up and her eyes widened. "I-"
Frida awoke as though she had been slapped in the face. She was facing the ceiling, and Malachi was sound asleep next to her. 'A dream...' Frida took a deep breath and snuggled into her blankets. 'Just another dream.'

"I just need something to help me sleep more soundly...that's all." Frida finished explaining to the apothecary owner, who stood behind the counter with a hand on his chin.
"I'll be right back." And with that, he strolled into the back room.
Frida sighed and sat down on a wobbly stool near the counter, carefully balancing herself on the narrow seat.
Ten minutes later, the older man returned with a small vial of blue liquid. He cast a simple-looking spell on the vial and quickly boxed it up for Frida.
"What was that?"
The owner gave no response.

Frida gazed longingly out a large bay window of her friend Genevieve's home. A couple of Gene's horses loped comfortably around their large paddock, almost completely in sync with one another.
"Those two do that all the time!" Gene said happily, "It's silly...so-" She sat down across from Frida, passed her friend a mug of hot chocolate, and asked eagerly. "Have you found out what you're having?"
Frida said "Thank you", and sipped her drink. "Mal knows, but I want it to be a surprise."
"What?! Awwww..." Gene slumped over, "Now it'll be twice as tough shopping for you."

Frida carefully untied a ribbon from a pretty gift box that her cousin Maria had passed along to her. "It's not going to jump out at me is it?" Frida asked and stopped herself from lifting the lid.
"Don't be silly! Of course not!" Maria said as a few other family members laughed.
Maria's two year old son Vincent giggled and played with the crumpled wrapping paper on the floor, and imitated Frida's opening of gifts.
Frida lifted the lid and hastily shut it again, "Maria!" Her face burned a bright red as her cousin watched on, smiling mischievously.
"I knew you would LOVE it, Frida." Maria said, obviously pleased.

The family gathering had concluded, and Frida, her mother and father, and a couple pairs of aunts and uncles were lingering in the Bok home for a while longer. Frida had somewhat of a vexed look on her face the second her eyes landed on Maria's gift box again. 'She's so fresh.' Frida thought and vanished the last remaining bits of wrapping paper out of the room.
"Frida, sit down please." Her mother said after spotting her daughter moving quickly around the room tidying up.
"Mum, I'm fine. I'm not injured...just pregnant." She whined when her mother grabbed her right arm and practically forced her onto a soft chair.

Frida was making her way back home one rainy summer day. She peeked out from underneath her umbrella when she heard a large vehicle pass her by on the roadway. 'X-Tinguish' She read off of the side of a work truck. There was a big red 'X' over a roach, and a series of numbers along the bottom of the image. 'They kill bugs then...wow!' Frida avoided a large puddle and shook some water off of her umbrella. 'I wonder what those numbers were for though?' Even after all this time, a muggle's way of life was still fascinating.

On a Sunday, two days away from the Hogwarts term starting, and three days from her due date, Frida was taking a nap on the couch in the living room.
She had been sleeping better, even without purchasing that suspicious potion, so no horrible dreams to wake her.
But something else happened.
Frida's eyes snapped open and she sat up, feeling something had changed. 'Oh dear...now?' "Mal?" She called out a little concerned and set her feet on the floor. "MAL! It's time!" Frida said in an overly cheerful voice and stood up. 'This is it. The big day.'
