Hiya

I'm FireboltAvis88 aka Alyssa Potter or Pearl in RL. This is my first venture into the 100 drabbles, so I hope that I don't embarrass myself here too much. My problem will be trying to keep my drabbles down to 100 words. For those who've seen my posts will know that it's going to be a tough feat, but I'm determined to see whether I can do this. So here goes.

25. Sorting Hat

This was it. The Sorting Hat. Even though Alyssa was coming in as a Second Term student, this would be her first time getting sorted by the Sorting Hat. She was anxious to know which house she would end up in. 'Please let it either be Gryffindor or Hufflepuff' Alyssa thought to herself. 'At least it will either be Dad's or Grandma's house.'

The Hat was placed on her head and Alyssa closed her eyes and prayed. Then the magical words were spoken.

HUFFLEPUFF

Alyssa breathed a sigh of relief, jumped off the stool and joined her fellow housemates.

37. ANIMAGUS

"You need to concentrate really hard when you're about to transfigure into your Animagus form." Alyssa's mentor reminded her.

Alyssa nodded and tried to concentrate but her mind kept getting distracted. What would her Animagus form be? Maybe an eagle? Alyssa remembered that her form was determined by her personality and her inner traits.

She wondered what animal form best represented her personality.

Concentrating hard as instructed, Alyssa waited to see what she transformed into and felt something strange happen. She looked and was disappointed to see that she remained human.

Except, she had a beagle's tail.

"I'm a dog!!"

38. PATRONUS

"I want everyone to think of something that makes you very happy." Alyssa's DADA Professor reminded everyone.

Alyssa closed her eyes and cleared her mind of everything except one thought. A face, specifically Evan's. Evan Mackenzie was Alyssa's boyfriend whom she loved very much. She remembered the times he made her laugh and how happy she felt the day he told her that he loved her.

With that thought, Alyssa pointed her wand in front of her and called out, "EXPECTO PATRONUM!!"

A beam of light shot out from her wand and slowly became a beagle. That was her Patronus.

39. DUEL

"Hey Cody do you want to play Monopoly with me?" Alyssa asked her twin.

"Alyssa the last time I played with you, you challenged me to a duel."

"Well that was different, you wouldn't give me what I wanted."

"Alyssa we were just playing a game."

"If that is the case, then why didn't you give me what I wanted?"

"I would have....eventually."

"See that's what I mean. We should just duel now and get it over and done with."

"I'm not going to duel with you, Alyssa."

"Engarde Cody."

Cody sighed. "Alyssa that's for fencing."

"Well then Enduel."

40. SPELL

"Alyssa what is the spell for changing your eye color?" Cody asked her sister

"Ristaris. But it's Intaris if you want to change it back. Why do you ask?" Alyssa asked.

"I was just interested that's all. I wanted to see whether you remember what you've learned."

"Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?" Alyssa asked suspiciously

"What is the incantation for the drying charm?"

"Siccus Aerous. Hang on a minute, you're not testing me. You're up to something. What did you do?" Alyssa asked.

"I accidentally changed Polaris' eyes and spilled water on her at the same time."

"CODY!!"

41. THESTRALS

Alyssa loved taking care of the winged horses. The Aeothanans, the Granians and the Abraxans. It was easy taking care of them, grooming and cleaning their stalls. But when it came to the Thestrals, she always had a problem. She wasn't able to see them. Even when one had appeared on the Hogwarts grounds one night, only the Professor and a handful of students could see it. She could only hear its breathing and the sounds it made. Alyssa wished she could see them but this was one wish she hoped didn't come true for a very, very long time.

43. HEADMASTER

Alyssa had only known three headmasters in her school life. Her first was the Headmaster of Salem's Institute of Magic. The second was Headmaster Tate and the third was Headmistress Truebridge. As she looked at the portraits of the Headmasters of Hogwarts, Alyssa smiled at Headmaster Tate's. He was someone that she would always remember and respect.

During the scariest period of her time in Hogwarts when she had to serve detention, it was Headmaster Tate who supervised hers. Alyssa would always remember how kind he was. "Headmaster Tate. I'll always remember you. Thank you." Alyssa whispered to the portrait.

46. DUNGEON

The dungeons. For a Hufflepuff that was the last place, Alyssa ever wanted to be in. But she had spent a few days in one of them serving detention. This was during her 3rd term at Hogwarts. After that horrible, nerve shattering experience, of which the only saving grace, was Headmaster Tate, Alyssa made it a point to stay as far away as she could from the place.

"Thank goodness I'm not a Slytherin. That would mean that I would be living next to them all the time." Alyssa shuddered. Even the thought of that sent shivers down her spine.

47. PORTKEY

Alyssa looked all over the room. "It has to be around here somewhere."

"Dad said that it was next to the TV." Cody told her.

"Great!! Does Dad know how many things are near the TV?"

She picked up the remote control. "Nope it's not this."

She touched the television. "Nope not this either."

"Alyssa, Dad said next to the television. He didn't say it was the television."

"Well why couldn't Dad just say what it was?"

"Because he didn't want us messing around with it."

Alyssa touched the TV Guide and disappeared.

"Guess she found Dad's Portkey after all."

48. LEPRECHAUN

"Mom, do you see that rainbow over there?" little Alyssa pointed it out to her mother.

"Yes, Alyssa. I do see it. It's really beautiful isn't it." her mother replied.

"Can we go there?"

"Why do you want us to go there? We don't even know where it ends."

"You can see it end over that hill. We need to go there."

"But you still need to tell me why."

"Because everyone knows that at the end of a rainbow, you will find a pot of gold and where you find a pot of gold, you will find a Leprechaun."

64. NAP

Melissa called upstairs to everyone.

"Children I need you start cleaning up before your grandparents get here. Alex, the guest house. Sirius the backyard, Hermione, the living room. Cody, the study room and where is Alyssa?"

"She's taking a nap, Mom. She was up all night chatting with Evan on the phone."

Melissa went upstairs and woke Alyssa up. "Alyssa I want you to clean the toilets."

"Why can't I clean the guest house and Alex clean the toilets?"

"Because I'M THE HEAD BOY and I don't do that." Alex replied.

"You WERE the head boy. You're not any more."

49. YULE BALL

"Alyssa will you stand still, I need to finish hemming this up. You have grown an inch since we bought this gown. Maybe we should get you another one." Alyssa's mother told her.

"Mom. It's not like I will be wearing this all the time and I don't think that I will be attending another one again."

"Well that's more the reason why we should get you another one."

"I don't understand why I can't just wear my jeans and a nice blouse to this thing."

"Alyssa Potter, you will not wear your jeans and blouse to the Yule Ball!!"

50. BOGGART

Alyssa ran threw the maze trying to catch up with the fairy and at the same time find her way out of the maze. She had to do this or fail her DADA OWLs. But then she noticed something blocking her path. It was Healer Tillstrom!!

Alyssa shook her head in denial. There's no way that she could be here. Then she realized that it was a Boggart reflecting her worst fear. Alyssa quickly pointed her wand and said, "Riddikulus". The Healer changed into the healer skipping a rope, chewing gum and blowing bubbles. Alyssa laughed. That spell always worked.

51. ACT

Alyssa frowned as she read the notice board. "No...no...I can not do that."

"What is wrong, Alyssa?" Minerva asked her fellow housemate.

"Do you see what we're supposed to do for DADA finals. I can't do that." Alyssa told Minerva

Minerva read the notice. "It really isn't that hard to do."

"This is DADA class. We're supposed to cast spells and fight duels. Not do this." Alyssa protested shaking her head.

"Just think of it as a different way of showing how you defeat a kelpie." Minerva told her.

"I can't ACT out how to defeat a Kelpie!!"

53. CHASE

"Alyssa will you stop doing that? You're supposed to stand in one place and duel." Alyssa's sister told her.

"Who says that we have to do that. It just says that one casts a spell and the other attacks or defends."

"I know but it would be easier if you stopped doing that."

"Hey, it's harder to hit someone if you do it my way."

Cody sighed. "Alyssa we are supposed to be dueling. What you are doing is not that."

"Hey if you want you hit me, you have to chase after me." Alyssa laughed and continued to run.

55. EGG ON

"Come on you can do it. I know you can." Alyssa encouraged Alex.

"This is ridiculous, Alyssa."

"I'm serious Alex, it's really easy. Anyone can do it. Cody has already done it."

"Seriously though. Guys don't do this."

""Yes they do. I know of a famous soccer player who did it. He said that all men should feel comfortable doing it. If you do it, I'm sure that Sirius will do it too."

"Stop egging him on, Alyssa. If Alex wanted to have mud plastered all over his face, it'd be easier just jumping into a muddy pond." Sirius laughed.

56. FIGHT

"No you can't, Alyssa." Cody protested

"Yes I can, Cody." Alyssa replied

"But that's not fair."

"Who said that life was fair?"

"For once in your life, why can't you just give in and agree that you lost."

"I didn't lose. I just let you win." Alyssa grinned.

"You let me win? I won fair and square." Cody protested.

"What are you girls fighting about now?" Melissa asked both her daughters.

"Fighting? We're not fighting. We're just agreeing to disagree." Alyssa answered.

"Well it sounds like you lost and you don't want to admit it."

"See I told you so!!"

57. GOBLINS

"Cody stop staring at the person like that. It's very rude." Alyssa admonished her sister.

"But he's so adorable in that scarlet and gold uniform." Cody smiled back at her.

"Cody you really need to get your eyes checked once we get back home." Alyssa laughed at her twin.

"He has to be very smart to be working in this bank."

"Cody this is Gringotts Wizarding Bank. They all is work in here."

"This is Gringotts? I thought that it was a regular muggle bank." Cody said looking around.

"Wait a minute? Did you mistake the goblin for a little person?"

60. Joke

Melissa heard Hermione's scream, "What happened?"

"There's a big spider climbing up the wall in the living room." her daughter told her.

Melissa walked into the room and saw Alyssa sitting on a chair.

"There's no spider climbing up the wall, Hermione. You must have imagined it."

Hermione went back in and a few minutes later, Melissa heard another scream.

"Mother, there is a spider and it's on the ceiling now!!"

Melissa walked into the room and looked suspiciously at Alyssa.

"Alyssa, are you making shadow spiders with your fingers again?"

"I was only playing a joke." Alyssa grinned.

73. Warn

"Hey Cody, where's your rubber duck?" Alyssa asked her twin.

Cody looked at her suspiciously. "Why do you want MY rubber duck? What happened to yours?"

"Uh...I let Polaris play with mine." Alyssa told her.

"So why do you want mine? You're not going to use it as another play thing for Polaris."

"Nope, my Snowy Owl is happy playing with mine." Alyssa told Cody.

"Then why do you want mine? I'm warning you. Gramps gave me that. You'd better not destroy it."

"Uh...does transfiguring it into a rubber dog count as destroying?" Alyssa asked with a grin.

85. Snappish

"Hey you guys better be on your best behavior. Mom is a little snappish today." Alyssa warned her siblings.

"What makes you say that?" Alex asked his sister.

"Well I took an extra cookie out of the jar and she yelled at me like I had stolen her last one." Alyssa told everybody.

"Well did you take her last one?" Hermione asked knowing Alyssa very well.

"Uh...well I didn't take everything." Alyssa replied.

"Well then I don't understand why she got mad at you."

Then a voice howled up the stairs. "It's because she only left the crumbs behind!!"

58. HOOT

Alyssa frowned before asking her mother. "Mom, that person said woman was a hoot. I've seen her and she doesn't look like an owl.

Melissa laughed. "It just means that the woman is funny and is cool to be around."

"Then why can't they just say that? Wait now. The newscaster just said that the Senator was hooted off the stage. Does that mean that they found him funny and cool too?"

"No in that case, they actually didn't like him." Melissa explained.

Alyssa looked at Polaris. "I'm glad you're just an Owl. Your hoot only means one thing."

59. Ignore

"Alyssa did you hear a single word I said? I've been talking for the last 5 minutes. Are you ignoring me?" Melissa asked angrily.

Alyssa quickly turned around. "I'm not ignoring you, Mom. I heard everything you said."

"Okay tell me what you heard?" Melissa eyed her daughter.

"You said not to do this....to make sure I do that... and to be careful..." Alyssa replied.

"I'm glad that you were listening." Melissa said walking away.

Cody leaned over. "I know you weren't listening. How did you know what she said?"

"She says the same thing every time." Alyssa grinned.

62. Amortentia

"Alyssa do you smell that? It smells like the shampoo that Samantha uses and Mom's apple pie." Alex told her.

"Nope I don't smell that. I smell Evan."

"You mean his body odor." Alex grinned

"Evan does not have any body odor. He smells masculine." Alyssa smiled.

"Well I definitely don't smell Evan or Samantha's shampoo or Mom's apple pie. I smell fresh cut grass like after the Quidditch pitch has been mowed." Cody said.

Alyssa frowned. "Well I don't smell that. What is going on?"

"Hold on a second. Sirius, did you just make a batch of Amortentia potion?"

63. Mooch

"Mom, can a person who comes uninvited into your house, eats your food and stays like forever without paying, be called a moocher." Alyssa asked her mother.

"Yes. I guess that's what muggles a mooch. Why? Do you someone who does that?" Melissa asked.

"We have this guy who running for the Board of Governors. He attends our classes without invitation. He just sits and writes stuff in his book. He eats his meals at the Great Hall and doesn't seem to be leaving any time soon."

"But he's just doing his job."

"But that's it, he hasn't won yet!!"

65. OOZE

"Mmmm...can you smell that. It's the smell of hot chocolate and manliness. It is practically oozing out of his pores." Alyssa whispered to Claudia.

"Alyssa whatever are you talking about? I don't smell anything at all, and I definitely don't see anything oozing out of Evan." Claudia told her.

"You must be able to smell that. It's so unmistakable." Alyssa sighed staring at her boyfriend.

"Well I definitely don't smell anything. Wait a minute, did you eat one of those candies lying around?"

"Yeah why?"

"SIRIUS, I'M GOING TO TELL MOM THAT YOU'RE MAKING AMORTENTIA AGAIN!!" Cody yelled out.
