Elizabeta, Container Ship on the ThamesHope you've taken your motion sickness medication! Employees of the Department of Mysteries need space and secrecy, and they've found it in the middle of the Thames.
The first area that you come across when coming on board the ship is the main reception area which has been situated onto the main deck of the ship. A reception desk has been conjured up, and set up, just opposite the gangway, so that nobody that is not authorised can gain access to the ship.
Please come up to the receptionist and state your business.
Allison briskly walked across the ship her face pale boats were not her thing she turned a nasty shade of putrid green when they were in motion. She danced around the ropes and decided a dress was not the best option to be wearing on a ship. She walked up to the reception desk and waited for someone patiently.

Standing just at the top of the platform, she leaned against the rail, just...staring. Staring at everything with a blank expression. She'd worked on a ship before. In school. It sucked. People got possessed and whatnot. Though she supposed a ship was better than that insane asylum. Her sons, she was happy to say, were safe and sound at their uncles and not in the joke of a daycare. Funny sense of humor, ministry people had.
Demetrius was in the suppose to be reception area or at least he thought so. He was thankful he did not get seasick or this would be a serious problem. But seriously a boat on the Thames. He can't even complain to Sherman anymore. Now that was a problem. Who cares if the man fell asleep while talking to him. He vented and Sherman never complained.
And who else but Evelyn was already here. Plus a mysterious new person. He did not really want to go down to the work area yet. So might as well hang out on deck.
"Sooo, A Boat"
He just realized hewas going to have to use boating phrases now too, Doesn't he?
Oh Merlin.

Everyone was staring at her she noticed her gaze flickered coolly across everyone's face staring them down with an intense gaze that never lingered on one person. "Hello" She acted as cheerful as her face was, the sea sickness was starting to settle in. "I'm Allison, I'm new here" she gave an apologetic smile like that was supposed to make up for her being here on the ship. She didn't extend a hand to any one and put her hands on her hips, definitely not a dress next time.

Ahhh. A ship. What a lovely view of the Thames they were getting. Ashby would have preferred to be in the ministry. In his nice comfy office, that wasn't tilting all the time. How did people put up with it? It was rather annoying. He was hoping that his employees would be able to work though. He'd tried to adapt the ship as much as possible. But he knew it wouldn't be as good as their department. Hopefully they would be able to get in as soon as possible.
The department head made his way up the gang plank, trying not to fall in. And ahhh. There were a few of his employees. "Welcome aboard...." Ashby grinned as he wandered over to them. "I'm really sorry about our accommodation for the time being... hopefully we will be in the ministry as soon as possible."

Edward followed the directions provided to him in the owl's message about him reporting for work. He wondered what had happened, since he hadn't even had a chance to get to the ministry to report for work yet.
He approached the boat on the river and headed down to the deck where he saw some employees gathered about. He had absolutely no idea who to look for as this didn't seem to be normal and wasn't sure how he'd determine who his supervisor was. He just looked around, a little lost but trying to gather his bearings and determine strengths and weaknesses of those he saw.

Lucky her. First the ship, then her favorite colleague showed up.
"Technically, I think it's called a ship." And that was pretty much all the ship facts that she knew of.
Chuckling softly to herself, because she was oh so funny, her attention was turned back to Miss Cheerful New Person, apparently going by the name of Allison. What? No formal hand shakes? How...unfortunate. "Pleasure." she muttered, just as Boss Man arrived. Right.

The good news was that they were aboard a ship and thus Jasper expected that he would find that very comfortable and familiar having been on many since his early childhood. The bad news is that this wasn't the Ministry building with all of it's protections and secret entryways and he felt himself grow a bit concerned over just how they'd keep things hidden away. Suppose they needed to vanish something? Or apparate from one point to another and a passing muggle should notice? He made it a point to be more cautious about casting above deck.

As he made his way up the gangway, he found himself behind a brown haired gentleman. He wasn't exactly blocking the way, but Jasper liked to have a wide berth and so he asked, "Pardon me?" with his polite and timbery voice as he skooted past the gentleman in case he should brush too close. Don't want to invade anyone's aura that morning. No. That wouldn't be a way to start it off right with the new employees.
Jasper Mitterbill found a cozy spot within earshot of Mr. Summers and clenched the neck of his black peacoat closed to guard against the weather.

Edward was still looking around when he heard someone speak behind him. He turned quickly, disappointed that he had let someone get that close without noticing. He was losing something after being back in London for a while. He mumbled a quick apology Sorry, Mate! as he stepped to the side and watched the other gentleman walk by him.

"How soon is as soon as possible...exactly?"
"Im so sorry I get sea sick" she explained apolegiticly as she turned a nasty shade of green. She feelt nasty as she looked up and groaned. So you are....?" She was just going to have to sit down but she had nothing to sit one. "Is there anything to sit on?" She gestured to the deck then fell over as she found her foot caught in a rope. Oh dear she was going to puke and she looked ill.
Ah finally Boss was here. He could at least explain things. The only question Demetrius had besides the obvious one to the boss, Which Evelyn just asked was.
"And why a Ship?"
Now it seemed more and more people were showing up. Wait seasickness. Someone was seasick already. Weren't there potions for that.
"Probably a place to sit below deck"

"No harm done." Jasper chirped back in response. He had had weeks of dreariness punctuated with the bliss of being alongside Heather leading up to this which probably accounted for his more upbeat attitude for the time being. That and he was one of those guys that really did love his job. "Jasper Mitterbill." He began with an outstretched hand. Might as well now that they'd had each other's attention. "Hall of Prophecy."

As his gaze moved periodically taking in the new surroundings, Jasper noticed a VERY young girl in a green dress standing with them. Must be one of the new hires. But Merlin she was young! Could she have been a genius with great knowledge that enabled her to perform the jobs in Mysteries or...maybe she was a seer as well and her experience would be a great help to he and Syndil now that the Shermanator had gone on to a different department.
He was going to miss that eccentric old cat and fellow Piscean.
He waved and offered the new girl a smile, but just as he did she'd taken a terrible spill. He'd meant to turn away for she was be-skirted, but he could not tear his eyes off the scene. Quickly, but calmly he moved over to help her up. "Alright, miss?" He ask in his Southerly accent. A Brighton man most likely. Or not too far off.
Carven wasn't impressed. She hadn't actually managed to get a single full days work done what with the CONSTANT kerfuffle at the Ministry. The thought had crossed her mind that perhaps this was simply a very elaborate way to avoid doing any work orchestrated by the workers.
Ridiculous.
In any case, she could at the very least appreciate the view, however cloudy and miserable it happened to be this January morning.
"Anybody get sea sick?" she asked, aloud. Because first of all, ew and second of all and perhaps more importantly, somebody needed to have some tonics on hand.

" I get seasick really bad" she explained. Allison took his hand and lifted herself up which was still wierd. "I'm Allison by the way!" She could tell everyone here thought she was young and this was typical because she only graduated 3 years ago. His accent wasn't from around here but that was like hers she lived in Scotland most her life and she moved here when her parents thought she would get her letter soon. The memory was pleasant but she focused her attention on the man who had helped her up. "Thank you." She mocked a curtesy because she didn't warn to seem humorlous and came up smileing. A hiccup escaped her mouth and she clamped a hand over it.

Edward tried to present a pleasant persona. This was all rather odd. He had assumed he'd be working at the actual ministry building. Granted, working on ship might be a little more fun, but it was tight quarters and a bit restrictive as they were working on a ship of containers. He saw the extended hand and heard the name. He extended his own and said, Edward Lennox. He paused a moment before continuing. I'm working on love, I believe. I just took a shot at this job. I had actually expected to be working in security or law enforcement, however, I'm pleased to be doing this. It sounds like something interesting. As he thought about his new job, he was actually quite surprised as he had been hurt in his own love life. He thought this might be a chance to understand more about what it was.-

Oh. Hmmm. The ship seemed a little rocky. Ashby hadn't expected that. And he kind of should have expected that. The department head, frowned a little, before wondering over to the side of the boat and having a look. He was rather careful though because he didn't want to go over board or something. "Okay..." He turned around to look at his employees. "I shall sort the rocking out in due course." Because he could not deal with all this rocking. Not if they were going to be spending a good portion of their time up on the deck. He made a mental note to remember that.
Ahh. His new employees. "Ahh. Edward and Allison. Welcome to the department. Sorry about all this mess. Hopefully we will be back in our usual offices in due course." Because he would rather be in there than in this ship. "I shall tried to accommodate all of the necessary items you require for your working. If you need anything else please don't hesitate coming to me." Because he really would try to get anything they needed.

Edward saw a man walk over to the side of the ship and look over before coming over and introducing himself. Edward nodded at the greeting and the kind words of apology and encouragement. He smiled and asked the gentleman, Where exactly will I be working here on the ship? I've only just met Jasper, but he seems to be in a different section. He was still a little disoriented with the new job and what he was supposed to be doing, but having some leadership would be helpful.
Carven wasn't impressed. She hadn't actually managed to get a single full days work done what with the CONSTANT kerfuffle at the Ministry. The thought had crossed her mind that perhaps this was simply a very elaborate way to avoid doing any work orchestrated by the workers.

After Allison had volunteered her answer to Carven's question, Jasper chimed in himself. "Not hardly. Not anymore. I did as a child, so I know how miserable it can feel." And he didn't envy the girl called Allison that. She'd make it easy on herself if she stayed above deck during the periods in which she wasn't working.

His light chuckle broadened at her extravagant gesture. She had the right spirit about the experience and that was important. He felt especially so in their line of work.
"Jasper Mitterbill, and you're very welcome." And here he took step away, giving Allison the space he hoped appropriate in case she should become any sicker.

"It's nice to meet you, Edward. Do you go by Edward?" Maybe he preferred a shorter name? Or the more professional sounding Mr. Lennox? Jasper finished up their handshake and listened intently as Edward went on to tell him about the position he'd taken at Mysteries.
"Oh, love! Now that is interesting!" He began like he meant every bit of his enthusiasm. He did. "It is a powerful magic, isn't it?" It fascinated Jasper, especially since it seemed so very unexplained, even in it's historical context. There were incidents of love having served to protect people from even the worst of curses, yet wizarding kind seemed yet to discover just how that worked or even how to harness that ability. "Did you work previously in magical law?"
His light chuckle broadened at her extravagant gesture. She had the right spirit about the experience and that was important. He felt especially so in their line of work.

She swallowed slowly and remembered the two tablets in her hand, she quickly popped them in to her mouth and ate them. As quickly as she got seasick it quickly went away and she stood up straighter and sighed. "Hello Jasper"
She now could appreciate the river Thames and the rocking of the boat "Where are you from? Your accent isn't from around here, but hey neither is mine! I'm from Scotland! Am I talking to much?" That was a problem she was talking way to much she quickly shut up and watched his face intently waiting for him to walk away "Sorry!" she squeaked out the words as quietly as she could.

Right, time to try the front door approach, as he was calling it. William had hid his backpack before they went out to this ship, just in case these Mysterious Mysteries people decided to search it, but kept his sunglasses on. He was gonna look coooooooool and excited to take a tour of the Department of Mysteries. That was all.
"I'll let you do the talking," he spoke in a low tone to his co-spy as they walked up the plank onto the boat. Then he straightened up and stepped on board.
Whoa, rocky much?

Joćo didn't hide the objects in his undetectibly enlarged pockets, because there were only a few, but he hoped they wouldn't rattle while working. So far they didn't, though, and he walked slightly slower to make sure they really were undetected as they stepped on the ship.
Ship. Joćo had forgotten how much he hated SHIP, because he hadn't been on one for LONG, BLISSFUL years.
Trying to control his rapidly beating heart, he simply nodded at WWW--he sure would talk if he could breathe first, and took a few steps towards the desk.

Oh. Where would he be working? "Everyone is working underneath the deck in the hold. I have separated the hold into six chambers. It is quite clear where everything is." So hopefully everyone would be able to find out where they were working when they got down stairs. "Hopefully you will find everything you need down there...." So he hoped they would be able to get to work.
andd. There were not too random people walking onto his boat. "Hello?" Were these random muggles that were walking onto his ship. She hoped not. "May I help you?"

"Portsmouth." He offered his answer in a friendly-type tone. "Not at all. I thought I recognized your accent. My best friend is from Scotland." And true, Ria often did most of the talking whilst they were together. Maybe they were similar in other ways as well. The thought kept him smiling.

That was the man that helped him with his father's medicine that one time. Jasper recognized him. Smiles to him and to his friend in tow as well. They look like they could use some help, but he would let Ashby do the talking.

Leave it to Mr. Summers to have taken care to organize everything in a way that allowed them to find it all quickly. This would make it easy to make up for lost time, though he supposed there'd be late nights anyway with all the work they'd missed over not being able to enter into the building. It was funny, he thought, though that the Ministry building itself seemed to be withdrawing. It started with the doors and hallways in the Department of Mysteries and now the entirety of the building. It was as if it were growing sentient and exacting a choice on it's own autonomy.

Six chambers in the hold. So that was how the Department of Mysteries worked.... in secret chambers. Like the Chamber of Secrets. How interesting. William made a mental note of this to discuss with Joćo later.
As for the department head addressing him... Well, he just smiled and nodded at the guy and continued walking onto the ship. So far, no one was trying to stop him. And besides, he'd agreed to let Joćo do the talking.
