"If it's in the vertical one we can't get to the doors, but if we're in the horizontal spot we might be close to the doors..."
He had no idea how to fix a lift... "We could always try reparo but I think we need to know the basics of how a lift works, and honestly I have no idea." Maybe she did?! "Do you know the basics at all by chance?" Merlin that might help to an extent. If not, send for help? Somehow? "How do you propose we're going to figure that out?" Cassie had not been paying enough attention to know what direction they had been going before the lift had stopped. It wasn't always easy to tell because they could run smoothly sometimes. Though they couldn't be really well-maintained considering it had broken down.
Cassie didn't really think a simple reparo would suffice in this situation, but she stayed silent and led Gid think through his plan verbally. They would have to know exactly what was broken and where it was and be within a reasonable distance. She shook her head. She didn't know how the lift operated well enough to be any help at the moment. Maybe if it was a muggle lift it would be easier to figure out, but one that was also influenced by magic was much more difficult. Which left calling for help. "We could send a message for help by patronus," she suggested. Cassie was still holding her wand, and it would be an easy thing to do. As much as she would like to not have to ask for help, she wanted to get out of that lift. But who would they even call? |

| Kat Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Vicotory was busy today. She had meetings and deadlines. She had events and fundraisers in the offseason to make sure were running smoothly and one of the things she needed had been to drop off forms for security to the different events. So making her way to the various departments that she needed to drop things off she dropped a few off at the final stop at MLE and had headed back to the lifts.
Waiting was always the slow part of her day. She spent so much of it waiting. Even when she thought she was ahead of schedule waiting was the factor to make her late and at the moment the slow lift seemed to be what was going to cause that issue right now. She had a staff meeting in ten minutes and the longer she waited on the lift the longer she assumed she wasn't going to make it.
Should she take the stairs? No, that would be silly now that she had stood for so long. So she just tapped her foot and kept waiting.

Simon couldn’t help but shake his head as he made his way up the final stairs of the current staircase to the safety of Level 2. How in Merlin’s beard Level 3 had managed the damage they did to their wards? The security man didn’t entirely know. Though sometimes he wondered if A&C was in reference to the accidents and catastrophes they were in charge of fixing out in the wizarding and muggle worlds…or what happened within their own department from time to time. At least it was all fixed the moment, the extra work having interrupted his planned rounds.
Walking through the lift area, he spotted a familiar face, smiling as he approached even as the woman’s restlessness was made evident. “Fancy meeting you here, Victoria,” Simon remarked in greeting. “What brings you to Level 2? Was there something you needed?” The security man couldn’t help but wonder if he had missed an appointment, even if unplanned.

She was being restless and possible getting a bit irritated that the lift hadn't come yet, plus she was fully realizing she needed coffee. As she waited she couldn't help but let her mind go with everything she needed to do today. She had a level meeting then it was off to a manager meeting. Once those were done she needed to get busy with the camp set up, this would take a few weeks and the ad in the prophet was to be run at the end of the week. She then thought about dinner and how Alana had cheerleading at seven.
Her eyes lifted when she heard a voice and she gave a smile. "Hello Simon, how are you?" She hadn't seen him in some time, but she should have known she'd run into him here. It was his area she had just dropped paperwork off to. "Oh had some paperwork to drop off for some security we'll be needed for a few events. We have the children's charity coming up, plus quidditch camp, and of course the fanfest towards the end of the summer." If level seven didn't keep security hopping with sports events they kept them busy with the other activities. "Anything new going on around here?" Not that she was being nosy, but she was stuck waiting for the lift, so she figured it was a good time to catch up.

Not that she was being nosy, but she was stuck waiting for the lift, so she figured it was a good time to catch up. Simon inclined his head in his own hello. “I am well…thank you, ” he answered truthfully before turning the tables, “And yourself?” What had she been up to since they ran into each other last? Well other than planning the list of activities for her department that she rattled off being in need of security for. “Ah…it seems we’ll be busy. Well busier.” It wasn’t like security ever truly had empty time. Aurors and hit wizards were about the only ones that could be worse. “Hopefully my team took good care of the matter then.” Not that he had any doubt. They would a good bunch of people and Simon usually was proud of his security workers. Couldn’t trust them with the safety of the ministry if he couldn’t trust them period. As for anything being new… “Same old, same old. Always a ton of fun to be had, be it critter or human or just magic based.” Cue chuckle with his words to show a joking tone even if the events they originally eluded to hadn't be all that funny when first transpired.
Passage of time did give a different perspective.

Passage of time did give a different perspective. Good, good, he was good. That was always a nice thing to hear from someone when it had been awhile since you had talked to them. Being asked the same question she, of course, nodded before answering, "Everything is great, crazy, but great. That's what I get for having three girls though. Not a dull moment in our house. Cossy just hired a house elf as well so it helps a little." Though he was more for Alana then anyone else. Trying to make her feel more confident in being a squib around wizards was such a sensitive issue.
She couldn't help but give a small smile. She knew she gave them tons of work throughout the season and offseason. "Just keeping you on your toes and making sure no one loses their job for lack of anything going on." She winked teasingly. "Oh, of course, they did Simon, they always do. I feel like they might cringe when they see me walk in, but they always do a great job." She had been the manager of the quidditch division for long enough that everyone knew when they saw her she was bringing paperwork or some sort. Thankfully none was ever for charges being filed against a player or fan. It was just security for the most part. She had heard stories from other ministries about needed MLE to step in, thankfully the players all seemed to stay out of trouble for the most part.

Simon suspected that was a normal feeling for the lives of parents. The two sides of the same coin, the benefits and the occasional downfalls, or maybe just trying times, of being a mom or dad to someone. The former quidditch captain had enough ups and downs being in charge of his team and the Gryffindor house as a student leader to give him a small insight in how it would be. And he and Angelina had talked about their own family…which might just be happening soon.
House-elf…interesting. “Of which we are thankful, I assure you,” he teased back with a chuckle. Boredom…and unemployment was sooooo overrated. Not when you could have the oh-so-exciting job of securing the seat of the British wizarding world government as well as all connective areas.
Yes. They always did. Which was why he didn’t have to assist that all matters of security matters had to be dealt with by him. Which in turn allowed him to be in the field and not always dealing with the paperwork his job threatened to bury him in. The joys of being a division head. At least the title was properly his and he wasn’t working for someone else’s benefit anymore.“I might have to keep an eye out for that next time.” To see if they actually cringe or anything close the next time he, his employees and Victoria are in the same room together. “Because schooling in reactions might have to be reprised for them.”
All in good fun of course.
