What in the world...? Derek raised an eyebrow again. "Right..." He said finally looking at her. She looked... really lost. Maybe he knew more stuff around here than she did. Hah. How ironic.

"Well uh... thank you anyway." He was polite after all. Derek resumed walking around the corridor, trying to find a door with a helpful title or something.

Eh. Maybe he should have asked his Head of Department or something... but he didn't think that it was a good thing to bother her about such things. He could solve those problems himself.

Honey smiled awkwardly and apologetically, it appeared she'd mucked that sentence up. "No problem," she replied and watched as he walked away.

After passing by the Department of Magical Transportation and International Cooperation, Konrad came to a stop on the corridor on the fourth level, relieved that they got so far without any other unpleasant incidents. They'd be soon reaching the upper levels, and then the Minister of Magic's Office, and done! Heh, he'd never truly realized how tiring it could get. Or maybe it was just the old age. Pffft.

Ah, Department of Magical Creatures and Department of Environmental Regulation and Protection. There was always that faint, funny smell around these corridors, and he wondered out loud if Lourdes and Mariel could figure out where they were. Might as well try and change that boring tour-guide-routine. "Any guesses what departments you can find here?" Well, perhaps they'll guess at least one of the two, if the distant sound of who knew what magical creatures wasn't anything to go by. Hehe.

Mariel followed her tour group up to Level Four. International Cooperation had been interesting enough to the young woman.. but the department had enough said to her. She was actually quite familiar with the goings-on having being a frequent traveler, living abroad for some time, and having family members who were ambassadors. No questions from her.

As they walked into the corridor, Mariel became acutely aware of the smell lingering there.. similar to that one might find at the zoo. Wrinkling her nose slightly, the woman glanced over at Konrad as he addressed them. Guesses? The hint of a smirk almost imperceptible, Mariel raised an eyebrow and said, "Let's see.. Magical Creatures, perhaps?"

At the sound of something somewhat indistinguishable in the near distance, the brunette fixed her eyes on a point down the corridor. "They don't keep.. werewolves here, do they?" she said suddenly in a small voice. They were far more terrifying than even that infected man they had earlier come across. And if there were any here, they needed to leave. Now.

After bustling out of the Atrium and passing people out of the lift, January finally made it to the corridor that headed towards her level with Vic. "We apparently tend to get busy sometimes." You know, when random mutants start wreaking havoc all over the ministry and elsewhere.

January made her way down the hallway at a casual pace, caged mutant in tow. "Thanks for the company, by the way," she said, looking over at him with a smile. He seemed to be good at escorting her to her level, now that she thought about it. "Maybe sometime we can hang out again... outside of work. Less chance of mutants." Hopefully. She smiled at him again.

Vic made sure to keep by January's side, she was a mighty-fast walker when she had a mutant in a cage he could tell by the fact that he was slightly out of breath when they made it to the level four corridor. Merlin's beard. "Yes, apparently. It's good the department has such devoted employees, whew!" He exaggerated wiping sweat off his forehead and leaning on the wall.

Okay, now they were going in a normal speed. Good. He didn't continue his nap downstairs, he was good with normal pace. Oh wait, what? Yes! Vic smiled and nodded, running a hand through his hair. "Definitely. And maybe for once, I won't be sleeping at work and you get to see my charms wide awake." He grinned, then chuckled trying to lighten the mood even more and remove any possible awkwardness. "Dinner at the leaky cauldron sounds mutant-free, doesn't it?"

Another day another set of rounds to accomplish. Today was Level 4’s planned day though no one but him knew that as he liked to keep it relatively unknown. At least to those outside his division to avoid crossovers of people’s trails. Bad things usually came when a department felt like they were being abnormally picked up, even if it was unintentional. But nevertheless today was the day for Level 3 which made it an interesting day given the sharing of the space that happened here. Creatures and Environment…Environment and Creatures.

Simon made a momentary face at the thought of Environment Protection as he stepped into the Fourth Floor Corridor. It still reminded him of Roxanne on occasion which was a baaaad memory. Even if she had been at least tolerable when she was working there as department head. The security man shook his head to focus on the matter at hand, his attentive gaze moving around the area to check it out before deciding just which direction he was to begin with.

The best feeling in the world to Pem was getting finished with paper work and being released to go into the field for the rest of the day. If it was acceptable, the woman probably would have run through the Ministry in excitement. Her stomach growled and she resolved she would stop in the cafeteria to get something to eat before she officially left for the field for the rest of the day. It was bad enough she had skipped breakfast again, but she definitely couldn't skip lunch too!

Rounding the corner heading towards the lift, Pem barely managed to save herself from crashing into a man. "Sorry!" Pem exclaimed as she turned around to face the man. "I hope you're alright." Pem smiled as she looked at the man trying to figure out where she knew him from. She knew him, right?

However, he had barely taken a few steps before something had rushed around the blind corner nearly right into him. Instinctively, the security man raised his arms up as he stopped in place, his hands ready to catch or defend, whatever the case may be. As the person, the woman, reacted though, it seemed his reflexes wouldn’t be much needed. Both man and woman remained securely on their feet.

“It’s alright…” he said speaking for the first time. “I’m alright,” Simon assured her at her concern for his well-being. “Hopefully it was a good reason to be rushing about,” the man mused to finish up, his eyes flicking to the space behind her from whence she came. Just in case it wasn’t. It was best to be prepared.

Good.

The last thing Pem wanted was to cause anyone harm. "I'm sorry." She said again to the man, the familiar looking man. "You're from MLE, yeah?" Pem realized slowly. Was she about to get in trouble? She wasn't actually running in corridor, she was power walking. No one was injured, they were both clearly still standing and holding a conversation together.

"I just get excited about going out into the field." Pem admitted to him. "I may have been extra excited today." She laughed at herself. Her stomach growled conveniently at that point. "Oh, and food. I skipped breakfast so I'm pretty hungry now."

Simon half-waved off the second apology since it was nothing. It wasn’t like he was going to give her trouble about something that was an accident. He wasn’t one of those MLErs that jumped quickly and arrested just anyone for random, weird offenses. Speaking of which, there was her question, which sounded more like she was questioning something than her reading his badge. “Yes…yes I am,” the security man confirmed, wondering what had brought it on.

But then she was explaining why she had been rushing. Excited…excited…and hungry. All gaining a nod of acknowledgement. “All good…though if you had been injured in your rush, it would have been for naught.” She would have been slowed by injury and potential visit to healers or St. Mungos.

The sneaky brooms that got out of the conference room had split up and took off. What fun was it to stick together when you could have more fun alone? One of the brooms took off down the corridor bumping into the wall and possibly people as it went.

Trying to enjoy her tea, Ember was headed back to Level Four from a quick stop down at the daycare to check on little Alexei. All was fine, but she still wished she didn't have to WORK.

The...thoughts she'd been having lately. Hmm.

Minding her own business, though, she looked up at the sudden sound of a WHOOSH and then the next thing she knew HER TEA WAS SPILT. All over her blouse ;___;

She didn't even have time to grab her wand! WHY WAS THERE A BROOM IN HERE?

He saw one of the brooms slip away as he chased it from level six. They were now 2 levels further on, and the Ravenerd was a bit out of breath. Brooms can fly. The most he had right now was two legs. Obviously he was a bit behind.

He rushed in, a bit flushed, looking around.... Where is it? He spotted a young woman, did she see it? Approaching her gently but urgently he murmured "'Scuse me Miss.... but did you see a broom without a rider flying about this way?"

That was if she could get close enough to it without it whacking her about!

If brooms could giggle this one probably would have. It had went clear down the corridor and now had turned back around and was near the floor going as fast as it's twigs would let it. Were the people looking for it? Oh well they'd feel it before they'd see it.

Oh no this is not good. Beverage spill on aisle 4. He looked at her blouse, should he try to clean it up to make up for the trouble?

--- What the heck is he thinking cleaning up her blouse, this is a woman you dolt!

"I-I-I'm so sorry…" he stammered, apologizing profusely, as the barrage of questions started. The 6'4 nerd suddenly felt like he was 6 inches tall, guilt written all over his frame. His icy blue gaze kept shifting towards the direction of where the young lady said the broom went, and back to her and her inquiries "Y-y-yes…" he admitted. "We were testing out a batch of confiscated brooms-- they're glitchy and they got away for a bit-- but don’t worry! We got this all under control. We’ll get them I promi--"

WHAM! Goes the runaway broom side sweeping the Ravenerd off his feet, a tangle of arms and gangly legs landing clumsily onto the floor.

Wheeeeeze…..

Ember smiled kindly at him to show it was A-OK. "It's fine. These things happen. Life is often unpredictable, isn't i-IIITTTTTTT--"

And EMBER DOWN. EMBER DOWN.

The broom had SWEPT under her feet and she was suddenly on her bum, feeling the shock from the hit her tailbone had taken. "Oh MY--" she cried, holding her wand aloft. "Where did it go?!" She squinted and shot an Immobulus at it.

"Are you okay?" she asked, keeping her eyes peeled for the broom. She was NOT getting up only to be knocked over again.

Is this what it felt like being hit by a bus?

Vickers rolled over to his side, even more embarrassed that he not only looked inept but clumsy as well. Of course that didn’t help because he realized a few seconds later that the young lady was on the floor as well, and that it was perpetrated by the runaway broom.

Indeed this day was getting better and better….

"I… I'm alright." once he can regain his breath "A-Are you alright Miss?" he was more concerned for her. Because this is strike two on the you-almost-had-it-list and the 3rd party injuries list. He likes lists. Just not these kinds of lists.

He got to his feet, wand at the ready. He really needs to catch this thing. He could see the broom stealthily hovering low as it took out unsuspecting legs "Protego!" he shot the spell out, hoping to encase the broom and keep it from harming anyone else, including itself.

Low to the ground the broom zoomed past their legs and was about to turn to make another trip down the corridor when the people had to ruin the fun and hit the broom. It hit the floor with a thud.

He got it!

Immense relief is apparent on the Ravenerd's demeanor, one less worrying glitchy broom.... how many more to go?

But really he should focus on one rogue broom at a time. He lifted his wand, still fully encasing the broom in the shield spell, and started to turn around and bring it out of harm's way.

Oh wait the lady that had run afoul of the fiend "A-Again we're really sorry Miss...." Vickers started to apologize again "Do you need to see a Healer?"

She patted him on the back. "Good job! What was wrong with those brooms anyways?"
