Why so fast? Lex could give maybe a zillion reasons why she needed to be moving quickly but all would require a remarkable amount of time to explain.

In the same vein, the young woman could have continued down the corridor, now that the other woman had stepped aside but 'cept for the fact it was an unfamiliar face in MLE--unfamiliar to her but by the badge, clearly an employee on the level. Huh. Would you look at that. This was the sort of thing that happened right after the big 'winter break' they were thankfully not forced to take.

"Got work I'd like to get back to. Files on my desk--the few that are there and hopefully a case or two." Wishful thinking. The idea was to head to her desk and see files she hadn't left there. A sort of nice welcome back from your day of kind of thing.

"Haven't seen you before."

Toni didn't surprise to what the girl say, the fact that she got the badge too. It seem that this girl enter the MLE during her time in the foreign Ministry.
But still, a bit of paranoia, almost hit her.

"Of course, I just arrive here lately, I mean, out of UK" Toni say casually then add "been on-loan to other Ministry for a long time, girl"

"Call me Toni, and I am a Hunters" Toni smirk a little, "and your work doesn't go either you go rush or not" then Toni is just wink to the woman, teasing it more likely.

'Is this kind of employee, we have here at Magical Law now. Not a paranoid, well she is young, but workaholic, I thought, they have a Holiday break' Toni thought.

"On loan, eh? That's neat. Which Ministry was it? Was it for a special mission or...clerical stuff." Yes, it DID make a difference to the young Auror standing here, shifting restlessly from one foot to the next. Hands down, work was her favourite part of the day--or rather, now it was one of her favourite parts of the day. On the days she actively had cases to work however....nothing could pry her away....

Er......girl? The word might not have bothered her so much under normal circumstances but given the conversation (if you could call it that) she'd had with Lou, the word simply didn't sit right with her. "My name's not girl and I'm a grown woman thank you very much." 22 was pretty much full fledged adulthood, yup. "If you insist on acknowledgements though, you can call me Lex."

As for her....Toni, right, Toni Hunters. For a moment, Lex tried to puzzle together whether the name was meant to mean something to her but the young woman quickly gave up, choosing instead to comment on her rush.

"There's always need to hurry. For every second you're wasting there's another dark wizard living large and creating havoc where you can't watch." She did enjoy watching, just as much as she did taking them down after.

"Oh, hello, Lex, nice meeting you" Toni waved her wand hand.
"Our work didn't say 'GO RUSH', as far as I remembered, constants vigilance is our cue, every time we go outside, unless, we're sure, who are the bad elements"

"Oh, it was a special mission, assign to me by DACS, as per request of Manila Department of Magic, I am assigned to guard the VIPs there, well paid of course." Toni say eventually after pausing some moment. Toni didn't know if that Dacs is in office, but she is surely report first to Emily.

Toni now walk further inside... 'this girl will be alright', just in Toni's mind.

It was always such a curious thing, people telling her how nice it was to meet her after sharing the bare minimum in pleasantries. The Auror titled her head some, giving the woman a once over. "But how do you know?" She finally asked, once she'd gotten her eyeful. "How do you know it's nice to meet me? I haven't done a single nice thing all morning." Unless you counted the cuddles she gave to her kneazle--that was good of her.

"And the job doesn't have to tell me to rush. I know with vigilance comes the discretion on when to act. If we sit around all day, dark wizards won't march themselves into our cells and stay put 'til we're ready to punish 'em." And honestly, how boring would that be? What was an apprehending without a little struggle and the use of overly excessive force as she saw necessary? "Gotta keep the adrenaline pumping, otherwise the average man will fall scared out of his boots." Never her. Didn't matter what the mission was, she was all for it.

As the woman continued walking, Lex picked up her own steps again, intrigued by the idea of a 'special mission'. "What sort of special mission was it? Were you spying? Apprehending? Gathering intel? Don't leave me hanging." Details, Lex liked them when it came to this line of work. It kept everything...well...exciting.

"whoaa! Hold the horses, take it easy", Toni senses the adrenaline of the young Auror, but what on Merlin, she is like born yesterday, saying nice meeting you is out of question, either the subject is nice or not, what she thinking, but regardless Toni replied "Yeah, I just know you are nice 'Girl'

"and as for the mission, it will stamped as highly classified, sorry can't tell the detail"

Toni stop suddenly, she need to report immediately to the department head.
"Ok, need to go to Emily, before dropping to the other offices, bye for now Lex" Toni waving her hand to the young auror.

And there she was calling her a girl again. Lex might have protested AGAIN but in the next minute the woman was talking about classified things and...not being able to share details?

What an...uneventful conversation this had turned out to be. The disappointment was evident as Lex watched Toni go. Having slowed her pace, the woman had now walked off--which didn't particularly bother her on it's own but without telling her ANYTHING at all??

What a bust.

Lex sighed heavily, willing herself to forget about it before starting down the corridor again. She had work to do.
