Daichi quickened his pace as he walked through the corridor with the portraits of the old ministers. He knew that his department head was pretty laid back but he hated being late to something. But as he checked his watch he realised that he still had some minutes before he needed to get back to work.
As he looked up, he passed a woman looking at the portraits, stopped and looked back. Wasn't she the Department head from ..somewhere? He checked if he looked presentable like an employee for the minister's office should be and walked backwards. "Can i help you with something?" he asked Lynley was on the portrait of a grumbly looking man when she heard the footsteps--ah. A Level 1 employee. He looked young...but put together well. Lynley was eyeing him up and down...just to make some judgments before they spoke. Hmph. "Oh...I....I'm fine. I was just on my way to see the minister...and got distracted by these portraits," She said simply, tapping her fingernails on her clipboard. Today, she was sporting a vine-colored green on her fingernails. "Do you work in the Minister's Office, then?" she asked curiously. Maybe he'd know if Mr. Clark was in...then she'd save herself the trouble of going all the way there if he wasn't.
She was very busy and important, you know.

She was very busy and important, you know. Daichi looked at the portrait of an old grumpy looking man as well and nearly snorted when she said she got distracted. Of course anyone would be distracted by a grumpy portrait like that, where was the smile? people should smile more in pictures. He actually wondered how the current Minister's portrait looked like. He walked past here every day without really looking.
He looked to his left to try and see if he found it but was distracted by tapping. He looked back and down at her hands and he gave her a silent approval of her colored nails. He liked green, it reminded him of his old House. "I do..." Daichi answered slowly as he looked away from her painted nails and looked her in the eyes. "My name is Daichi Katharos" he held out his hand " I work for the media liaison and you're the Transportation Department Head if i'm not mistaken" he said. "I'm not sure if the Minister is in right now but maybe i can walk you to the senior undersecretary if you want?"

Minister Clark was nice enough, she supposed. Maybe even a bit too nice for her taste, but that his preference.
Woah..."I'm sorry--repeat your name, dear?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Die-chi?" did she hear that right? "Merlin, why do all of you have such hard names?!" She supposed his name might be more...of a different culture, but STILL. How was she expected to remember all these odd names?! It was simply TOO MUCH to ask of her, in her opinion.
Ahem.
"And no, you're certainly not mistaken. I am the Transportation Head. Media liaison is important, too, I assure you." In case he felt inadequate next to her or anything.
Well, wasn't that lovely of him. And friendly. Very good manners. "Aren't you just adorable..." she smirked in that Lynley, condescending way, and crossed her arms over her chest as she slowed her pace. Her heels clacked with each step. "And very polite, too." Where was she getting at? Lynley didn't even KNOW. But she suddenly took a liking to this kid, and she wouldn't hesitate to gain an ally, ever. Allies were important in this political game.

Daichi too spotted the picture of the current minister for magic and looked at it. “He’s nice, bit …odd..but what great leader isn’t odd” wait, he had been odd. Everyone had told him that, but in a good way AND he had been a leader at school. Woah. “Please don’t tell him that?” he asked, scratching the back of his brownish haired head and laughed sheepishly.
Was his name that difficult for people to pronounce? It wasn’t that hard , he thought. “Y-yes, die-chi…” he said “It’s not that difficult…” he mumbled, looking sideways at the portraits. “At least you got it right at the first try. I’ve spend my school years being called “chi-chi by one of my Quidditch Captains. And Duck Boy by the whole school because I like ducks….do you like ducks? They’re amazingly cool and cute aren’t they?” say yes O_____O “Of course my job is important as well, what? you think that I would keep things rolling here for nothing?. Attending conferences, being a spokesman for the media, checking in with the department heads, reporting to the senior secretary and the minister himself from time to time…….that..that sounded so rude I am SO sorry!”
Mweeeeh he did not like being called adorable. He was passed that stage now. He was cool, and macho, and a MANLY MAN. But everyone still saw him as “adorable”. He cleared his throat, trying to turn his attention away from his cheeks as they began to fill with color and straightened his tie. He was polite though, he could go with polite. “right, uhm…follow me…” and he walked in the completely wrong direction.

| A Poop * k8 * Lynley snorted with derisive laughter in his direction and just eyed the picture of Sherman. "He is odd. But, I think he' knows it. Your secret's safe with me, though, don't worry." She said with a wink in his direction.
The Transportation head just nodded. "Daichi. Got it." She would do her absolute best not to forget that...mhmm. She just raised an eyebrow at the duck sentiment, though. "Um...ducks are a bit noisy. And...can be rude. I have fed bread to ducks before, though...at the park..." Lynley could be so merciful. "They're...just all right."
She wouldn't be proclaiming her undying love for ducks anytime soon.
Oh DEAR. Lynley covered her mouth because she was doing her best not to chuckle TOO much at him...look at him! Going on about his job...wasn't that cute? No, Lynley KNEW any liaison was important...but she miiiiight have been having fun playing the condescending card. "Right...of course...I get it..."
She was awful, and she knew it.
And...they were headed the wrong direction. Lynley had been up here enough to KNOW this. But she didn't say anything. How long would it take Daichi to realize this? She hoped a loooong time. Because how fun would that be? Lynley followed after him, smirking. "Thank you, Mr. Katharos."

Merlin. She needed to BREATHE.
There was something about being stuck doing work all day that was so incredibly exhausting. Oh wait. It was STUCK DOING WORK ALL DAY.
Sweet circe.
When she applied for this job she didn't think it'd be actual hard work.
She needed to rally for more vacation days. The current situation was just not cutting it anymore. She had a migraine. How did they expect her to just sit around in a cubicle all day? It was an injustice. Someone needed to complain to HR. Did they have an HR?
Ugh. Not like it mattered. They'd probably be inadequate and not fit for the job anyways. A trend she seemed to notice in this place. Merlin, it was days like this which made her question her decision to leave Witch Weekly.
The brunette hurriedly made her way out of the Minster's Office Level lobby and straight towards the corridor where she'd be able to find herself a lift to get out of this place. She was going to skip today. It was necessary.
