Just down the hall, the expansive creature holding room is one of the nosiest on this side of level four, second only to the bloodhounds kennels. This, the magical creature holding room, is a limbo room where all captured or confiscated creatures are placed until a permanent and more suitable home can be found for them. Enchanted to expand in size when extra room is needed, though it's already large enough, this room is lined with cages of all shapes and sizes. Some are clear boxes for the tiny variety and some are large and bared. All are dripping with protection charms to keep them in and you from losing a digit or two. If one seems to just be slumbering in a corner, don't worry, they haven't escaped, and are contained solely by magical barriers. The room is organized by species, ministry rating, and size; a supply closet is off to the left, full of everything needed to keep the creatures well cared for temporarily.
Even more charms are in place to keep the room from being too stuffy, and to prevent anyone without a magical creatures employee escort from entering (for your own safety of course). Feel free to clean up after some of the creatures or feed other. Just don't get too attached, they are only here temporarily.
Off to the left of the Creature Holding Room, you will see a door you probably haven't noticed before if you've been around Level 4 for a while. When you open the door, you will find yourself in a short white hallway that curves a bit to the right before opening up into a very expansive room with raised ceilings and extra lighting and echoing with the sounds of barking dogs.
To the right along the wall, there is a line of a dozen large kennels, each containing a single albino bloodhound. These large dogs are decidedly not your average pure white bloodhound, if there is such a thing, as they have been bred and trained for the sole purpose of hunting nogtails. However, they are, for the most part, friendly creatures that enjoy the company of humans - mainly, those that work with them. So if you are one of their handlers, they will probably be especially happy to see you. The dogs tend to blend in with their environment, the entire place having been painted a rich white with the exception of the floors outside the kennels and enchanted windows. They may have spilled their food and water bowls in their excitement to see you (assuming they haven't consumed all their food and water beforehand), so make sure to clean their messes up if need be. On the wall to the left of the kennels is a door, behind which is stored the food and supplies for the dogs.
Only those charged with caring for these creatures have access to this room. All others need to first gain permission from the Department Head and Bloodhound Team Leader to have supervised access.
OOC: Only magical creatures employees have access to this room. Other ministry workers wishing to gain entrance for any reason needs to first gain permisson from the current department head. |

River couldn’t sit at her desk for another minute. She’d been bent over paperwork since she sat down at her desk at 7.30 this morning and apart from moving through the office to get a cup of coffee and her sandwich from the staff room, hadn’t moved. Stretching awkwardly, she winced as she felt her neck protesting the movement after being in the same position for too long.
Needing to move, she moved aimlessly through the department. You know, to offer her aid and support if anyone needed her. Which it didn’t seem like they did. So, instead she ended up where her feet always took her when she needed to think; to the Bloodhounds.
Moving through the kennels, she smiled as a few of them came to talk to her. As always she made sure to stop and talk to any of the beautiful creatures that came forward to her. She talked calmly, softly, to them about nothing in particular…. Just happy to be there for now.

With folders tucked under his arm, and blood samples of sick, juvenile frost dragons in both hands, Mordred calmly made his way back to the Dragonology Laboratory to resume his work. However on his way, he saw their boss lady getting all chummy with the Albino Blood Hounds. Mordred was convinced that she didn't seem to be needing any assistance as the white creatures weren't hostile to her.
Quietly, he resumed his walk towards the Laboratory seeing that he had no business whatsoever with the woman. As he tried to open the door, the folder tucked safely under his arm got loose and fell on the floor. Irritated, he crouched to pick up his folio, hoping he didn't get unwanted attention to himself. Given that it's the Ministry however, that was highly unlikely.
