Autumn made her way towards the conference room after dropping by her desk. She had been on a very very important assignment that morning ("assisting" an Administrative Officer), but had thankfully remembered that they were having a Department-wide meeting. Imagine a Newbie employee being late!
Following Dawson, the man in the Quidditch Division, she walked into the room. "Good morning," she greeted everybody. Picking up a cup of tea, she took a seat next to Lucas. "Hi. How was your weekend?" She smiled, taking a sip of tea.

It was back to work. Talullah was very happy about being back at work after the weekend. Honestly with the holiday break that they get she could work seven days a week. She was recharged and ready for the new Quidditch season to start happening very soon. Being a retired Quidditch player the blonde always got very happy for the new season. It was always so exciting seeing the new and the old faces.
The Irishwoman walked in tot he conference room with a big smile plastered on her face and her usual latte in her hand, this morning it was a hazelnut latte. Her hazel eyes scanned around the room and landed on the department head. "Good morning Mariel." Talullah beamed and looked around for her other boss Victoria. There she was. "Good morning Victoria." the woman said in a cheery tone. Nothing was going to bring her mood down today.
As the woman looked around for a place to sit she scanned the room and to see if she knew any of the new employees. She was trying to get used to their names and faces. Talullah walked around the room and smiled at Lucas. "Good morning Lucas." she smiled at him. "How are you doing this morning?" She asked. Seriously she hadn't been this happy in a very long time. Tallie took a seat next to Lucas and looked at the other new employees. Her hazel eyes came to Dawson...that was his name correct? She had to be right...for once. "Good morning Dawson." She said cheerfully. The woman took a sip of her hazelnut latte and turned towards another new worker, Autumn. Lastly but not least. "Good morning Autumn." She smiled at the woman. She hadn't missed anyone! Woo!

Deliah walked into the meeting room drinking her cup of chocolate mocha and smiled at all of her colleagues and said "Good morning all" Deliah took a seat and waited for the meeting to start
As Mariel looked over her agenda, she grabbed a cheese danish from the plate in the center of the table. She had so much on her mind this morning that she had forgotten to eat breakfast so it was a good thing she had stocked up the conference room for the meeting. Just as she took a bite she noticed the first few to arrive. Victoria being first after her didn't surprise her at all.
"Good morning," she smiled. Oh were there? "I hadn't really noticed. I came her directly from my office." It always seemed busy with owls to her so unless one was directly for her or she was expecting something specific, she took for granted that they were going to where they were supposed to be. She'd have to talk to Vic about the trial and things, not having had that chance earlier, but now probably wasn't the time, more employees were starting to arrive.
"Lucas, good morning," she nodded to him, watching as he went to get a cup of tea. She really could use a cup of coffee herself and she rose from her seat to walk over to that table. As she poured, she glanced up at a few more to arrive, giving them acknowledging nods as well. "Hello, Dawson.. Autumn."
Returning to her seat, she watched a couple more walk in and take their seats. "Good morning Talullah and Delia. Everyone, please help yourself to a pastry and some coffee or tea." She waited a few more minutes for anyone else to show up, then glanced at the clock. Ten o'clock sharp, she liked to be prompt so she would start this meeting now.
"As some of you know, we've recently been in negotiations to host this year's International Youth Quidditch Games here in England. A couple weeks ago I attended a meeting about this very event and I am excited to tell you all that we've secured the bid. We will be hosting the game here this year!" Did they realize just how important this was? She hoped that they were all as excited as she was and she gave them a moment to let this news sink in.

Lucas sipped his tea, looking eagerly at the entrance for his coworkers that were yet to arrive. He really did enjoy working alongside them especially Autumn and Tallie. He had only just swallowed another sip of tea when Autumn arrived shortly behind Dawson. He greeted the older man before smiling at Autumn. "Hey. Not bad. Yours? Played any golf?'' Golf possibly may be his, hers and Amelia's thing.
His smile turned into a grin when Tallie walked in. They had become fast friends, just as he had with Autumn and Amelia, though there was something about Tallie's extra sense of happiness that drew him to her. Maybe it was nice to be around a ball of sunshine after the events in his life of the last year. "Good morning, Tallie,'' Lucas said, using the nickname he had given her. "Definitely not happier than you are.'' Then there was Deliah. Lucas waved at her. "Morning!''
Feeling as though Tallie's happiness had rubbed off on him, he impatiently looked at the clock. Were they going to be starting soon? Uh huh, it seemed as though they were. He gave Mariel his full attention. The International Youth Quidditch Games. Lucas knew all about this. He waited with bated breath for the response...
GREAT SCOTT!!!!!
They did it! They had actually been given the green light to host the Games! "This is great news!'' Oh joy. Now he couldn't stop grinning. Hosting these games meant that they would all have to work hard in the coming weeks but he was prepared for this.

Autumn had taken another sip of tea when she heard somebody greet her. Tallulah! She smiled back at the woman. "Good morning, Tallulah. It's good to see you being so cheery." Honestly, there needed to be more happy people in the world.
She turned to Lucas as he replied, laughing at the mention of golf. "Nope, I am still traumatized by the toy frog that gobbled my golf ball up." Of course, she was joking. She liked the sport, though she could not play it in the weekend because her sister Mabel was pestering her about Gobstones. Ugh.
Finally, somebody from her division arrived. "'Morning, Deliah!" Autumn said. She had almost drained her tea by the time ten o'clock arrived. She listened to Mariel as she spoke ... about the International Youth Quidditch Games. Oh gosh, she had heard about this event. She had never imagined that she might be involved in the organisation, but now she was here hearing the news that England would be hosting the game!
"Yes!" The nineteen-year-old punched the air and grinned. This was a-ma-zing.

Victoria greeted everyone as they entered, but soon it was time to get started with the meeting. She was glad that Mariel kept on a schedule, because she had other meetings to attend and couldn't be late. As Mariel started she looked to see if all her staff was there. Some where missing, hmm she'd have to find out why they hadn't attended and it looked like a few Gobstones were there. That was always good.
Her thoughts taken when Mariel said they did get the bid, "Wonderful that is the first step." She was super excited and opened up her notes and began writing. She had already come up with some to do lists if they had gotten it but she'd see what all Mariel wanted to do as well. Her team would be on it 100%. If they had to split some of their time between the season and planning she was going to makes sure they did. Cossy wouldn't mind if she was working later for something like this either.
Mariel paused to take a look around the room and gauged everyone's reactions. She expected her department to be quite excited for this news, especially the Quidditch division, and they all appeared to be even if they were of very few words. She supposed they didn't have much time to waste on chit-chat anyway.
"It is a great first step," she nodded. "But as I am sure you are all aware, we do have quite a bit of work to do to get ready." They still had several months of course, but that would go by very fast and she wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Since it appeared that no one had any questions thus far, she continued.
"We won't know what teams we will be hosting yet until a little closer to the end of the season, but there are many things that we can prepare for now. Though the game will of course be the main attraction, we need to provide things like food and other things to do. Does anyone have any suggestions?" Of course she had her own ideas, but she wanted to hear from her team as well to help work things out.

His colleagues were excited as well, Lucas could tell. He chose a great year to join this department... when all this excitement was happening. He sipped his tea, a wide smile implanted on his face as he raised his cup. He knew he was going to enjoy himself despite all the work to be done. Not that it was going to be work when he was doing it all for something he loved. After a second sip, he lowered his cup, his eyes fixed on Mariel.
Lucas really wanted to know which teams they would be accommodating and was slightly disappointed they were not know as yet. There was plenty of time to find out and besides... they needed to cough up some ideas for the games.
"There will be kids there. Really younger ones, I mean. Wouldn't it be nice to have some sort of attraction that features smaller models of brooms that they could actually ride? We can even have mini quaffles so that they could throw through hoops.'' This wouldn't be so difficult as there were already toy broom easily available and it would be just as easy to secure mini quaffles and hoops. "It could help the kids become interested in the sport from a young age.'' Lucas certainly hoped that Brody would.

You know what was even more exciting than hearing that this year's International Youth Quidditch Games was to be hosted here in England? That she was in a room full of people who were also excited about it. Like, she could tell her sister Layla about this good news and she would not care even in the slightest. Autumn raised her cup with a smile on her lips, before realizing that she had finished her cup. She was not sure if she was allowed to be this enthusiastic - after all, she was not in the Quidditch division. She watched and listened to Mariel attentively.
She raised her hand as an idea popped up in her mind, then lowered it quickly. This was not school! "As for the food, we could have healthy and unhealthy choices, because y'know, there will be athletes who want to stay fit and audiences who want to eat junk food as they watch the game." The girl would fit into both. Just imagine, her holding a salad in one hand and a hot dog in the other.

Deliah was pleased that they had been awarded the games and when Mariel asked for suggestions she thought and said "Well we will need to have stalls for food and drink, as well as merchidiase stalls for those who want to buy something"
Suggestions seemed to be few from her group, though they weren't bad ones even if a tad on the obvious side. Mariel had really hoped for a little more input but she supposed this was a start and they'd could work through it to generate some more ideas.
"Sure, youth brooms, mini-games.. that could easily be done," she nodded, jotting that down. "You can look into what we need to make that happen, Lucas. And yes, of course, food and merchandising would be a given. Healthy options as well as something more indulgent is fine. I think maybe we should have some international food choices as well." Made sense to her since it was the International Youth Tournament. "We don't know the specific teams yet, but we could even have a menu choice from all the teams represented in the standings. I'd like the Gobstones Division working to get that together." Honestly, she was surprised that no one from that division suggested anything gobstones related to have as a side event. It would be easy enough to have that.
"What else can we think of as a smaller, side attraction, perhaps to entertain people while they are waiting for the match to start or even during an intermission?" They really had a lot of work to do and not much time to do it in. If she couldn't get her team eager to work on this now, she had concerns about pulling this off.

She was listening to everything everyone was saying. She might not hae been being very vocal, but Victoria had her reasons. She wasn't new to these types of things and she thought fresh ideas were better then her thoughts at the moment. Give everyone a chance before she jumped in. Knowing she was very good at just taking over and doing so many things on her own she wanted to try to be better at giving her team more responsibilities.
Finally setting down her quill she looked around the meeting, "We can ask Quality Quidditch Supplies if they'd donate some youth brooms. Also we could ask Adam if his team has anything for us. This is a great opportunity to promote new things from them." The food idea was good as well and she nodded to all of that.
"We could have a meet and greet of some pro players and of course the mascots are always a hit. Do we have the facility set yet?" That was always something to think about first hand before deciding anything else.

She payed attention as others spoke, nodding every now and then. Autumn was glad that her idea had been taken in, though she knew this was not enough. Hearing Mariel mention the Gobstones Division, she picked up her quill and jotted down notes. She was determined to work hard and contribute as much as possible.
This gave her another idea. A Gobstones idea. Joining in the discussion again, she said, "Can we have a small Gobstones arena? It would be good for children to try out different games and sports." She could teach kids how to play, even though she was not the best at interacting with them.
By the way, Autumn loved the meet and greet suggestion. She might be able to see some of her favorite professional players at long last!
Adam nodded along at the suggestions, and when Victoria mentioned his name, he leaned forwards on the table from his rather relaxed stance and his nodding became more eager. "Yeah, great idea, Vic. We've got some new stuff in this week so I'll definitely have a look and see what we can get refined for the event." Merchandise was always good, and he was sure there was something in his in tray that they could get onto the market.
"What about some sort of mini-competition? Maybe some form of merchandise design or super fan quiz kind of thing? Or..." Here, he paused for a moment, flicking through the notebook in front of him. "Maybe we could have sort of "careers fair"? Like get a few different representatives, professional players, managers, coaches, mediwizards, members of our department... A bit of a showcase of the different Sports careers you can get involved in, spark a bit of interest in the youths who are thinking of their future?"
Of course, these were all just ideas, but he was trying to think outside the box. He knew that if they went forward with some sort of competition he'd definitely be game to help the winner develop their invention, and he was sure they could get some funding from stores to offer the winner a promotional deal. Oh, the Youth Tournament. The father of ten was getting ridiculously excited just thinking about it!

Great Scott! Mariel was leaving his idea up to him to carry out! The Hufflepuff was ecstatic but kept his composure. "Sure thing, Mariel,'' he told her and made a mental not to get started as soon as this meeting was over. "Thanks, Victoria. I'll be sure to get in touch with them.'' Lucas much appreciated her suggestion. He was about to suggest that in terms of food, they have them from the countries taking part in the tournament but his Head touched on it so he turned to Autumn.
"I think Autumn's idea is a great one too. It won't matter if we get kids involved in Gobstones over Quidditch. Both are great.'' Though he had never played much Gobstones, Lucas thought it was something great to get into. "Sort of like career advice,'' he said in response to Adam's suggestion. He approved of this. The more persons realising they wanted to be a part of a magical sport related field, the better.
"How about a showcase on the wizarding world in England?'' he asked, getting back to Mariel's next question. "We could have some wizarding bands for starters.''
Level Seven may have had a brief meeting right at the beginning of the year once they resumed work after their yearly break, but now that work was back in full swing, Mariel felt it necessary to have a more in-depth meeting with her entire department.
Of course it would be catered with breakfast pastries, muffins, and bagels with a variety of spreads as the meeting would be held at promptly nine o'clock. And coffee and tea from the cart just down the hall was a must too. It was so convenient to have the best coffee in the Ministry just steps away.
Once everything was set out on the side table, the department head helped herself to a coffee and cream cheese danish, then took her seat at the head of the long conference table. She glanced up at the clock to note that it was shortly before nine, then opened up her folder full of paperwork. Those employees of hers should be arriving any minute.

Fulton had gotten a memo earlier about a meeting to be held for his department. As usual he arrived to the ministry about half past 8 that morning in order to make itr down to level 7 to grab a coffee before heading into the conference room.
He walked in and saw his boss and greeted her with a friendly smile, " Good morning, Mrs. DeLaGarza." he said as he set his coffee on the table and walked down to check out the pastries. After selecting a danish for himself he had a seat where he had placed his coffee.
" Awful brisk out there this morning.." He added as he tried making conversation while they waited for the others. And sipped his coffee lightly>

She wasn't the first one to the meeting, well this grandmother... ahem young grandmother wasn't going to worry about it today. She opened the door and headed in. "Morning Fulton." After a few months in she knew the new employees. "Morning Mariel" She headed to her usual place near her friend/boss and took a seat. "How is the family?" She would have to have them over to dinner again soon. The girls always loved playing with Regina and dressing up Alejandro. It was very sweet. Now that she had Cossy at the ministry with her it was easy to figure out plans for the evening.
Opening up some parchment and pulling out her quill she was ready for when the meeting got started, but the treats looked to good to resist so she got back up and took a muffin. Sitting back down she started picking at it. "The coffee is exceptionally good today." She couldn't get past what was different about it, were they using something extra? Maybe a little hint of hazel nut? Whatever it was it was great.

" You're looking well this morning, Victoria" he smiled back just as he was about to sip his coffee. Opening his bag he took out what he'd need once the meeting proceeded. He then started in on his danish while the three of them contiued to wait for the others..
This woman was ready to go for the day. She was so excited for work that she woke up about an hour earlier than she normally would. Yeah she was always cheerful but today was just some extra dose of cheerfulness and Talullah has no idea why. The blonde Irishwoman walked into the conference room. "Hello everyone!" she green eyed woman greeted everyone. She looked around for a moment before taking her normal see at the middle of the table.
She set her bag on the table as she took out a small notepad and a pen. As she sat down, Talullah set her white tote purse on the floor next to her chair. She was ready to take some notes today. Tallie looked up at them and smile. "How is everyone today?" Some people just asked this question to do a little conversation and only look like they're listening but not her, she actually care how people were.

Autumn liked departmental meetings. They got to discuss interesting issues within the level, she got to take a break from her assignment and good food was guaranteed! So she walked down the hall of Level 7 and into the Conference Room with light steps, her usual mug of tea in hand.
"Good morning, everyone!" The woman greeted. She picked up a pastry before sitting down at the conference table. "I'm good, how are you doing?" She replied to Tallulah as she drank her tea.
While she waited for her colleagues to arrive, Autumn took out her notebook and a quill so that she could take notes during the meeting. She wondered what they would be talking about today... the new division? Or an upcoming event?
Mercedes had to admit that meeting was probably one of her favorite things about Level seven. Mostly beside, she knew they were going to get fed and fed well. And all the coffee they could drink. This was her sixth year in the ministry and she had not been to a meeting that she didn't enjoy. She loved being, meeting with food or not.
Lucky for her it was one with food, today. She headed to the conference room. Seeing that most of everyone was already here, "Good Morning!" She said with a tired smile, the coffee would soon solve that problem and Mercedes would be back in full happy Mercedes mode, in no time. She grabbed a cup of coffee and a chocolate scone, and a plain bagel with blueberry cream cheese. She took a chair next to Talluah, nibbled on her scone as she readied herself to take notes for the meeting.

Arriving on level 7, Althea Scabior was pleased to see that she'd arrived right before the meeting was due to begin. Excellent. That meant she could get what she needed to say out of the way and leave them to it. This level was perhaps slightly less of a priority in Althea's mind, given the sporting focus, but as the Minister she still wanted to be sure that its employees felt valued and knew that she would be making herself available to them.
As she entered and took up a position near the front of the room, Althea nodded politely at the department head, who was expecting her, and gave her a smile, then surveyed the room as the employees arrived.

"Good morning, everyone,'' Lucas said to everyone. He wasn't in a too good of a mood thanks to one Brody Hawthorne. His nephew had thrown a tantrum about not wanting to go to school. Lucas couldn't figure out what was wrong with the little boy but in the end had managed to get the babysitter to keep Brody company for the day.
Lucas dropped himself into the chair beside Tallie and gave her a smile. How could he ever be in a bad mood when she was around? He could already feel his spirits lifting. The man was ready for the meeting!
