| Sorry this is a bit long 3> Mr. Unicorn: Kim's daughter: Jenn's sister : MILKSHAKES: Lita Daley: The Sun: Its so Fluffy! Saxon knew they had some newcomers, like Kirby over here, the man whom seemed to come in late and flustered, Mr. Karten it seemed and the brunette women, Mercedes. But, the already known employees seemed to be on the quieter side today. Which was odd, since usually the department were all throwing in their ideas or bouncing off each other.
So, the minister was retiring and elections would be happening. That sounded... fun. But, they needed to find ways to make it more interesting for everyone involved. It might be a long shot, but Saxon knew Mariel was always up for any thoughts that her employees had. "Those who are willing to sign up for elections, of course, want to appeal to all crowds so that they can have some sort of gathering, or loyal voters. How about, if we're asked to do a meet or greet, or debates, like you mentioned, Mariel, we try to incorporate quidditch or gobstones. Some sort of small fundraiser or something that involves both the sport and political portion of the election." Hopefully this could be a starter. Get more people thinking.
Then Mariel mentioned gobstones. Should Saxon go off of that? She waited for everyone else to speak, which was very little, and sat quietly while Adam seemed to come in late, just as flustered as Mr. Karten. After everything had settled and all were done Saxon said, "I've had some chats with Victoria and Mariel about this, and we think it would be a good idea to get gobstones some more recognition. We think it would be nice to offer some sort of inter ministry competition, friendly of course, between all the departments. We also thought it would be nice, for any of the kids of ministry employees, who have to wait in the daycare center, to give them some gobstones lessons during working hours. So they are not as bored waiting for their parent or so on." Anyone here whom had young children might think that was a nice idea, and Saxon would greatly appreciate any thoughts about that.
"So, do any of you like the thought and have anything of your own to offer within those suggestions?" Nothing could be right or wrong, so no one should be afraid to speak up.

| ❅ Purple Lightsaber ❅| | Captain Sarcastic | Finally people were talking. Not as shy of a department as she though, huh? Saxon was the one who had spoken up. She smiled and listened to her.
Fundraiser? Well now was a good time to bring up one of her ideas, Yeah? Mmm.... The idea crossed her mind. "Fundraiser, like a player auction, maybe? Where we auction off players to the winners for a day. The proceeds can go to campaign funds and/or a charity." The American teams had done something like that a few years ago. She had gone with some of her friends. It seem like a good fundraiser.
She looked around the room after she spoke looking to see what the others thought. Though she still wasn't sure what this fundraiser had to do with a election. Honestly it just sounded fun auctioning off players. Maybe they could even auction off her uncle Cam. Hello former player, current manager.
She kind of started biting her lips nervously. Wonder if that idea didn't seem as good as it sounded to her in her head.

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent Mariel gave Victoria a soft smile and nod in her direction. She knew she could count on her and the Quidditch Division with anything the whole Department would need, even if it wasn't directly Quidditch-related. But she did appreciate that. And she opened her mouth to continue speaking on the Gobstones plans, but her attention was soon diverted to the doorway again. Well, there was Adam finally. She inwardly sighed at being interrupted by someone's tardiness again, but she soon gave the man a sympathetic look at his apology. "Oh, I do hope she's alright?" Yes, this pregnancy was definitely making her soft, but she knew Adam would have a good reason for being a little late. It was important to make sure one's children were taken care of, a notion she was becoming more acutely aware. And she was certain that she could be in a situation where her daughter would take precedence over a work issue. It wasn't as if he missed much so she'd just continue.
Green eyes fell on Saxon as she then spoke up, giving her thoughts on the election events. Listening for a moment, she then looked to Mercedes who offered her own expansion on the thought. "This needs to focus more on the candidates.. something in lieu of debates perhaps? Something that can give the public a chance to meet them and for the candidates to speak their thoughts on what they feel are important issues." A fundraiser auctioning off players would likely deter focus but it could be kept in mind for something in the future that was directly tied to their department. "Not a bad idea separate from the election events though.." She'd have to think more on it. "Of course we don't have to host any of the events or be directly involved, I just thought it could be something that could help bring the department to light a little more. Perhaps we could offer recreational games for the candidates to play with potential voters." Or something along that line, but the department needn't be the focus in that kind of thing. Perhaps it needed more thought.
Again she listened as Saxon expanded on her initial remarks about various Gobstones events, nodding in agreement. "I am really excited about the direction we want to take Gobstones here in the Ministry. It is going to be a bit of work though, so I know I can count on all of you to help out with it even if it's just to join the league or get the word out." She'd expect Gobstones to do more of the getting it into place, but she knew she could count on her entire team to assist with it. "And we also have a few things lined up for Quidditch as well. We will likely offer tryouts for graduating students again with the sport still out of commission at Hogwarts." She frowned slightly at this. When was that horrid school going to get it together? "And I know Victoria has some plans for a youth summer camp as well." She nodded towards her Quidditch Division Manager if she'd like to speak more on that. Then perhaps she should mention Patents and start wrapping things up.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Her eyes lifted as someone else joined the meeting. A small smile towards Adam, she was glad everything was alright and that he was finally there. She really liked her co-managers in the department and wouldn’t hate to see any of them missing or something wrong with their families. Listening to Mariel greet him, she turned her attention back to the meeting.
As Saxon began to speak. Oh yes, they had chatted a bit about Gobstones. She really wanted to see the sport get more news and recognition. “I really like the league idea and think it would be a fun way to get the ministry employees from different departments mingling a bit more.” That was always hard with a place this big, they didn’t know everyone. “Putting it out there for younger generations to learn would be a great way to promote it and get them involved at an early age.” That’s what they needed to get to the younger generations so the sport didn’t die out.
When Mercedes spoke about an auction Victoria chuckled, “We should have managers as well. I bet Cam would just love to do that.” The thought of Rebecca up for auction made her chuckle more. Though Cam was going to be a father soon again, so he’d probably be busy. She jotted down the notes for later, agreeing with Mariel that it wasn’t for the election, but it was a great idea. “Once we know who is running, maybe we could find out their interest. If they were a quidditch person they might enjoy a community event with Quidditch to get their names out. If they are more of a chess or even muggle sports, that could be fun as well.” She thought a moment, “Or a small carnival, the candidates could be part of the games. A dunk your favorite candidate type of thing.” Just a thought at least. She really wasn’t use to planning something that involved an election, but felt they could do it.
She listened to Mariel and nodded, “Yes it seems the Quidditch pitch had collapsed and from my knowledge it has not been fixed, so the season again did not happen. This is becoming a problematic thing for this department. The managers are looking to us to see how they can see the up and coming talent. Without games for scouts to really see how a player performs it’s hard for them to want to commit. The tryouts worked well last year and I certainly would like to do them again. Any thoughts on ways to make sure teams are getting to see every angle of a player would be welcomed.” Though she felt they did a great job last summer. She smiled as Mariel spoke about another of her idea. “My son is a very big Quidditch fanatic, wants to play pro someday, but with the issues at Hogwarts it has made us think outside the pitch on ways to get him the experience and opportunities. This of course made me think of our positions and how a community Quiddtich camp wouldn’t be a bad idea. Have different stations for different age groups so that they can learn at their levels.” She’d speak with her department more about this and start planning if this was a green light to go ahead with it.

| Who Am I? Ern's 2460FUN To be quite frank, which he often was in the comfort and safety of his own mind, Ferris hated this. He wanted to run out of the room as quickly as he had come into it and go hide away in a lab somewhere that would facilitate little to no human interaction.
Or perhaps he would quit.
No, no. So long as they stuck him in a room away from other humans he would be fine.
Except, they seemed to want him to sit down with other people and, uh, interact. Meep. No thank you. No thank you very much.
He would just....go sit as far away from the other people as possible. But he was listening. Ish. More likely he was hyperventilating but listening was also happening. |

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent A carnival.. She rather liked that idea and Mariel nodded at Victoria, jotting down a few notes about it as the blonde spoke on it. She wasn't sure how much planning that would take though and she didn't want to take too much work away from the department in order to organize this. Perhaps another department could help out, but she'd at least present some of the ideas generated today to the other Department Heads. Then she again gave Vic her full attention as she spoke on Quidditch issues.
She couldn't really help the unimpressed look as she heard about the collapse of the school's pitch and the fact that nothing had yet been done about it. Of course not. She couldn't really understand why it was not more of a priority for them, but not much surprised her about that school anymore. Mariel fully agree that it put more pressure on them as a department for the teams to find the young talent that they once sought at school games. "I think perhaps that we need to hold open tryouts this year," she said, once there was a pause in Vic's thoughts. "Maybe not just to those graduates who had played the last time there was a team to play on, but any of those interested and who are Of Age." Really it was difficult to keep those records after there had been no Quidditch for so long and there might be those interested who hadn't played and were able to practice in alternative outlets. "And I think instilling a Quidditch camp is a fantastic opportunity for the community's youth.. and can be another venue for the managers to scout talent as well." Even if it was a bit early for some of the younger ones, there was potential for older teens to participate as well and for them to be scouted. She personally thought this was a great idea and had potential to be something big as well as a regular thing for kids.
As no one else seemed to want to offer anything, Mariel continued on the last topic that she wanted to talk about. "And before we wrap things up today, I just wanted to mention the direction that the Ludicrous Patents Division is going. We are looking to market some of the newest inventions to come through the Department to the public in some of the Diagon Alley shops. So some pretty exciting developments there as well." She was extremely proud of some of the progresses the department had made over the past couple years. She gave Adam a nod if he wanted to speak on that at all, otherwise she thought they were about done here as everyone was remarkably quiet today and she was just ready to end things.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... She was glad Mariel agreed about the tryouts and nodded towards the open tryouts. She was going to have Bart help her figure out who would be seventh year players, but this, this seemed much easier and a nicer way to get young talent to tryout. Yes that would be good and she quickly jotted down some notes to remember. She beamed and looked at her team when Mariel talked about the camp she was very eagerly wanting to put together.
Yes this seemed a good start for her department. Tryouts, Quidditch season, and a possible camp. Victoria had plenty of work ahead of her and so did her team. Plus another thought that crossed her mind was back, but that was something she could think about later. Right now she needed to keep focused on her work.
Listening she perked up and looked towards Adam. That was interesting and Vic really wanted their area of the department to shine more. They so deserved it, Adam deserved it. "I'm hoping one of those products could be the Gobstones you talked about last year." Those were just so interesting. She assumed the invisible broom was another item on that list.

| Start of the gathering Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Victoria had the ministry's food services to cater her little gathering. She had been thinking and making notes on how she would go about getting her name, face, and views out during this campaign and decided the first place she should start is her own department and with people she had known for sometime. They were the ones that she was going to listen to first.
Coming into the room she made sure the meet tray, veggies, fruit, chips, and varied cookies, brownies, and sweets were set up. Checking on the tea and coffee she made her way to the front of the table and sat down in her usual place next to the seat that Mariel sat in to lead the group in their normal meetings.
She pulled out her parchment and read over some notes she had while she waited.

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent Mariel normally reserved Fridays for working at home, but today she made an exception to come in for a half day. She was one of Victoria's biggest supporters so if she wanted to hold a department gathering then she was going to be there. The department head spent a little time in her office before the scheduled time going over some last minute paperwork that had just crossed her desk, then she grabbed a cup of coffee from the lobby before doubling back to the conference room.
Looking over the set up as she walked in, she gave Victoria a bright smile. "Hello... well, look at all this." She could certainly use a snack and she grabbed a plate, selecting some of the meats and veggies for herself. She took her regular seat at the head of the table, then turned to Vic. "So how are things going?" She talked to her pretty much on a daily basis, so she knew for the most part how she was but she was interested in what the blonde had in store for them today.

"Hello, my name is Alex Federer, how do you do?" Jordan said hoping not to sound weird or anything of the nature.

Saxon had seen the notice and message about Victoria wanting to have a short meeting today for her to possibly get prepared to run for Minister of Magic, and made sure she would not be late for today's meeting. It was important to Victoria and she needed to hear what everyone had to say in order to help her throughout it all.
The blonde came into the room holding a notebook in her hand and a pen as well, ready to take any notes that Victoria may need to overlook in the future as a reminder. She saw her and smiled in her direction then said, "Have any ideas on anything so far? I'm sure we'll all be able to come up with a strong plan of action if you need any help on it." Saxon took a seat next to Victoria and opened the book to an empty page, ready to write as soon as the meeting started. "Hello, Mariel." Saxon said, giving her department head a smile as well. There seemed to be a gentleman Saxon had not seen earlier, Alex, it seemed. He sounded new, based off how he was talking to Victoria.

Among chit-chatting and eating a stack ton of cookies, Alex spotted his eyes on another person that entered the conference room. Since Alex was outgoing he decided to come over and talk to this person. "Hello there. How do you do? My name is Alex." If there was anything as being too friendly, which there probably is, Alex would most definitely probably get that award. Hopefully this wasn't a bad thing considering that Alex is always outgoing and nice and always wanting to talk with his peers, family, and co-workers.

"Well I figured since it was around lunch time that I'd make sure to feed everyone while they had to listen to me." Chuckling she hoped that everyone on her floor at least would want to stop in and hear what she had to say.
How had things been going, well she thought about that for a moment. "I think they've been going good. I mean I don't feel like the meet and greet went very well, but it was my first time speaking and I didn't want to give too much away just yet, plus being the first to speak I was pretty nervous. SO now it's time to hear what others thing and work on getting my points out there." That's exactly what she was planning, "Don't worry my other responsibilities will not lack because of this." She didn't want her boss to think they would. Even if her already long hours had gotten longer to keep up. Quote:

Grinning as Saxon came in the room she went to greet her, but stopped seeing the notebook. Goodness she was getting down to business wasn't she? It at first made Victoria a little nervous until she spoke. Wasn't she the sweetest thing ever? "That is very sweet of you Saxon and I would love the help if you want to give it, but in no way do I want any of you to feel obligated to vote for me just because I'm in your department. I want you to vote for me because you think I'm the best person for the job. Though if you are wanting to help, I could probably use more on my campaign team." Cossy and Mariel were her main go to's, but she'd love to have Saxon as well.
Looking at the small group she chewed the inside of her lip a bit. Maybe the rest were too busy or maybe they didn't really support her. She would hope they'd at least come to hear what she had to say, but if they didn't she'd have to get over it. Like she had just said to Saxon it was up to them who they supported even if it wasn't her. She understood that some might not think she was the right person, but she really hoped to have the chance to prove that she was. "I think I'll give a few more moments to see if anyone else will be joining us. Please make sure you get some food while we wait."

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent "Well, you can't go wrong with having food," Mariel chuckled to Victoria as she nibbled on a few of the items she had gathered for her plate. No matter what sort of meeting or gathering it was, it always seemed to be better if there was refreshments which was why she always made it a point to include that sort of thing herself. She listened, nodding thoughtfully as she spoke about the cocktail party. "It was supposed to be more on the casual side and I think you did just fine." She was curious to know why Victoria thought otherwise. "I think some people got a little carried away and tried to one-up each other." Really, it was more of an introduction not formal speeches but not everyone approached things that way. Or just had no clue what they were even doing. A specific someone came to mind and a light smirk fell over her features as she thought about how the woman was publicly shamed in the press. She was snapped back to the present as Vic continued. "Oh I don't doubt that," she said with a smile.
Noticing another person come in, Mariel watched him for a moment, noting he was unfamiliar but quickly realized why. His paperwork had come across her desk the other day and she had been expecting him. Nice to see that he was prompt in attending this meeting. "Alex.. it's nice to meet you," she said with a light smile, extending her arm across the table for him to shake. "I'm Mariel De La Garza, the Department Head for Magical Games and Sports. Welcome to the team.. I hope you're settling in well?" She wondered if he had met Adam yet as he'd be the man's direct supervisor, but if not he would soon. And she could show him around as necessary.
She smiled widely at the next person to walk into the room. "Hi, Saxon. How are things?" She needed to touch base with her on certain things, but that could come later. The Gobstones Division Manager seemed eager to help with Victoria's campaign which was great. She was glad to see the support of Level Seven behind her. Nodding a bit at Victoria's words, she took a sip of her coffee. It wouldn't hurt to wait a few more minutes for the rest of them.

Thank you for coming to this little gathering this morning. I hope it doesn't keep you too long from your work." She was sure it wouldn't though, she wasn't expecting to have them here long. Though she wondered where the rest were. Knowing that the future Minister of Magic could've possibly been in this conference room, Alex smiled back and showed respect as he always did to people higher in the food chain in terms of work, and lower of course too. "Oh no problem, I love social gatherings. I hear you're running to be Minister of Magic? That is amazing!" Jordan said excitedly as he thought about the power but responsibility of being Minister of Magic. He imagined what it would be like to be the Minister of Magic, he imagined it would be something similar as a Headmaster of a wizard school like Hogwarts but on a much much larger scale than that. This was the Department Head for Magical Games and Sports so he needed to make a good first impression, especially since she was his boss. "Oh yes, it is quite nice here at the Ministry and especially at the department of Magical Games and Sports." Although Alex had only been there probably close to a week, if that, Alex had enjoyed every second of being in the Ministry with the Department of Magical Games and Sports. He considered it a blessing for his job to be dealing with a department that deals with Games and Sports matters. Instead of having some crummy hard-working (in terms of labor work that is) muggle job, he could enjoy his job by working with Games and Sports of magic, a true dream job.

| Mr. Unicorn: Kim's daughter: Jenn's sister : MILKSHAKES: Lita Daley: The Sun: Its so Fluffy! And waiting for the meeting to get officially started Saxon was greeted by the newcomer. She gave him a small smile then said, "Hello, Alex. I'm doing quite well right now. I'm Saxon," and held out her hand for him to shake. She had never seen him before, and she hoped she wasn't stepping out of line. "You seem new to the department. Are you visiting or just got late into the ministry?" Curiosity was a thing. To be perfectly honest, Saxon had never considered the words Victoria had just said to her. But, now that she thought about it it made sense. So, if she decided to vote for someone else it seemed like Victoria would have no problem with it. But of course, Saxon was here to help her. "Right, yes, of course. I hadn't realized that at first." She started off with a very short laugh at herself. "No matter though, at the very least I'll be here to aid you in any way I can." Depending on other canidates voting could become a different story.
Waiting a bit longer was a good idea, Saxon believed. Hopefully at least two other workers could make it here today. It seemed rather small at the moment. And now it seemed her head of department had noticed Saxon, which she returned the smile, and had some good news to share with her. "They're going along swimmingly, I think. Deacon and I are working with each other trying to put our heads together to improve Gobstones popularity and the league and lessons for the adults and children." They were currently brainstorming but it seemed like they had all ideas nearly figured out for the children's lessons. Now all they had to do was put it into action.

[/COLOR] "Nice to meet you Saxon." Jordan said shaking his hand firmly to the woman. "Yeah I'm a newcomer so I guess you could say I'm late into the ministry." Jordan chuckled as his face turned a little red. He was still a little uneasy about being the new guy in the Ministry, but these were the steps he had to take in order to be known around the Department of Magical Games and Sports which would ultimately result in him bettering himself during his career in the Ministry.

| Finally made it! ❅ Purple Lightsaber ❅| | Captain Sarcastic | Mercedes had been busy working all morning on some of her assignments. Buried in her paper work most of the morning coffee was the only thing keeping her going. She had all intententions to come over to Victoria's meeting. And on time... The hours had ticked away, and time had gotten away from her. She looked up and realized the time.
She put her papers back in a pile on her desk. When she stood up she straighten her dress up and headed over to the confence room. No surprise that others were there already. She wasn't but like twenty or so minutes late. "Hey, sorry I'm late. This morning has flown by." And with no time for breakfast this morning she was hungry now. Seeing that the others were already nibbling on the food. She went ahead and grabbed a plate.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... She was glad the food was a success, "That's what I was hoping." Smiling she took a bit of some fruit. She hadn't had lunch yet either and she hadn't officially started yet, so she figured it was alright. Glad to hear Mariel say she thought she did fine, she still wasn't fully sure, but at least her friend thought so. "It just seemed the later it got the more prepared some seemed to be. Though I think many were talking with the guests and going off what was already said to make them sound better." Which was a good tactic even if it was a little sly. "Yes I couldn't agree more." Some did seem to be a bit long winded and all about pleasing the ears instead of really saying what they wanted.
Giving a grin towards Alex she nodded, "Social gatherings are always fun. I enjoy being around groups more then being alone." Hence why she worked so much when she knew she was going home to an empty house with Cossy at school and the girls at their dads. "That I am. This is why I'm holding this little meeting actually. I've worked hard in this department and have seen it hold many sucessful things, so I want you all to be the first to let me know your thoughts and opinions." This department was very important to her and she was dedicated to making them stay successful.
She hadn't thought of it? Victoria glanced at Saxon with a puzzled look. She hoped the others didn't feel obligated to vote for her if they came to the meeting. She wanted the meeting to show them why she was the best for the job, but not make them feel pressured. Frowning a bit she wondered if that was why many were not there. Though she had to get that out of her head and do what she needed with who was her. "Well I hope some things I say today and throughout the campaign keep your support." Saxon was good people and she was very proud at how the blonde had grown into her manager position. Thinking about how she could have possibly thought of her as a threat at a certain time, it was a good think she never knew, because it could have been awkward. "I really appriciate that. Thank you!" So sweet to offer assistance. She did have the best department.
Glancing at her watch she decided it was time whether anyone else showed or not and just as she was about to stand Mercedes came in. "It's alright, I'm just glad you have come." She reallyh was starting to have a blow to her confidence that not one Qudditch member was there. If she couldn't gain the support of her own team that she managed how was she going to get the entire wizarding community to back her?
Finally standing she looked at the small group, "First I would like to thank you all for taking time in your busy days to listen to what I have to say. Feel free to keep eathing and take more when you need it. There is certainly plenty of food." She probably had ordered too much. "Now as all of you know, since Mariel was sweet enough to post it on our notice board, I have decided to run for Minister of Magic. I've been in this department for six years starting out as PR for quidditch and moving up to Manager. I love this department and all that we have done, but I feel that I can do more. I feel that my organization, social skills, and ideas are very well suited to become the next minister. I've brought you all together to listen to what your thoughts are good or bad. How do you feel about the ministry and what would you like to see more or less of? What questions do you have for me?" She didn't want to make it just her talking, so it was time to get them involved.

| Who Am I? Ern's 2460FUN Ferris was simply walking by.
Not hurting anyone and doing a crack-up job of being invisible. He found avoiding light and people helped with that effect.
But when he was sinking into the walls by the conference room he heard voices. Voices of people who were apparently his colleagues now. People he wanted to not spend time with because-- MEEEEEEEEP-- people were terrifying in the most immediate way.
Human interaction was a hindrance to human survival anyway. Had history not proven that yet?
.........he wanted to run. Instead, he just froze in front of the door. |

Among Culloden giving the big speech asking people to chime in on what the Ministry needs and doesn't need. Alex didn't really see anything that needed to be changed. This could partially be due to the fact that his was so new that he hadn't really made himself familiar with the Ministry. However Alex did have one question to ask the future Minister of Magic "Excuse me, I know I'm new and all and I'm not exactly sure what the Ministry does strong and what they don't do strong, but I was wondering what in your mind makes you feel like you would be a better Minister than your opponents?" Alex thought this question have been asked to soon, but it would no doubt be asked by someone later on. Matter of fact, he didn't really know who else was running besides Culloden.

| Mr. Unicorn: Kim's daughter: Jenn's sister : MILKSHAKES: Lita Daley: The Sun: Its so Fluffy! Of course, Saxon was here to help and listen to Victoria when she needed it. It was an important task for her to take on, so all the hands she could get the better. Even if Saxon may not vote for Victoria in the end, she felt like it would make a nice gesture to her and the department, that at the very least, they did everything in their power to help her achieve something as grand as this.
She simply nodded at her co-worker as Victoria began to start up her meeting. The blonde jotted down the simple 'what do you want to see different in the ministry' idea into her notebook and underlined it, noting that it was important. Saxon noticed someone coming in late, standing quietly by the door, and it made her wonder, and possibly worry, as to how this man had gotten into the ministry. She couldn't remember hearing his voice last time she saw him in a meeting.
At the moment though, Saxon didn't have much to offer in terms of what she felt like the ministry needed changing. Perhaps if someone else chimed into that topic Saxon could find something from them, but for the time being, she had nothing.
"I think Alex asked a good, but simple question, actually. What qualities do you think you specifically possess that would qualify you as a stronger canidate than the others? If you can figure that out, I think you can put it into your advantage. Find ways to incorporate it into your job." Saxon said, giving the newcomer a nod. "As well, how about we go off you, too. If you want to change the ministry, its also wise, or at least I think, that you go off from what you know. So, my idea to you is to think about what you think should be changed in the ministry. Maybe try and find a common ground and connect your personal concerns onto a grand scale and give it back to the public." Saxon said. She couldn't offer much, but, at the moment, that sounded like something Victoria could delve into.
"Anyone else have any advice, or thoughts to give back to Victoria? Anything will help her in the long run." So don't be shy.

| Unforgivably Cursed | adultescent Mariel smiled a bit wider as Alex shook her hand firmly. He seemed genuinely pleased to be here and she appreciated that. She got the initial impression that he was likely a hard worker which was just what she liked around the department, though she would check in on things once he was really settled in. "Well, if you need anything, just let me know." She might be busier now with an infant and trying to take some of her work home, but she would always be accessible for her employees. "Have you met Adam yet?" If not, she would have to make a point of introducing them.
As it seemed that Victoria wanted to wait a few more minutes, Mariel next turned her green eyes on to Saxon. And it seemed like she had just the good news that the Department Head wanted to hear. "Oh that's great! Maybe we can gather some of the kids from the daycare to test some things out once some of the details are finalized, before we get it ready for the public." And they could not only gauge reaction, but also work out any kinks that were bound to happen. "We'll talk a little more later.." This was really Vic's forum right now and she wanted to give her the spotlight as soon as she was ready.
She raised an eyebrow as one of her newest employees finally walked in, announcing her late arrival. Mercedes wasn't all that late, perhaps five minutes or so by the clock on the wall, but tardiness was something she did not tolerate as it reflected unprofessionalism. Mariel realized that this was slightly more informal than an official meeting, but she certainly hoped that the young woman did not conduct herself that way regularly. "I do hope you realize that timeliness is very important when representing the department," she mentioned matter-of-factly. And that was in all aspects, formal or not. Though she was rather disappointed in the ones who didn't bother to show at all. Late or no-shows, they all needed to realize how important this was to Victoria and show her the support of the department.
And then when Vic decided to begin, Mariel gave her her full attention. Yes, she agreed that her friend had the right skill set that the next Minister needed and she nodded her agreement here and there. How did she feel about the Ministry.. well, that was a loaded question, wasn't it? She thought for a moment how best to word her thoughts, glancing over at Alex as he spoke up. Perhaps that was a good question for her, but Mariel knew that she was still interested in what he would want out of the Ministry or even its involvement in the community, no matter how much he was familiar with it.
She was about to speak up when a movement at the door caught her eye. What.. was Mr. Karten doing? She knew she needed to go check on him and his work in the atrium, and figured Vic invited him to the meeting, which was great.. but.. was he being shy or.. what? Mariel gestured with her hand for him to come in, then turned her green eyes on Saxon as she spoke.
Listening to her for a moment, she added her thoughts, "While I agree with both of you that Victoria can reflect on what she thinks she can bring to the role as Minister, I know that she is genuinely interested in hearing your personal opinions on what makes a good Minister and what you think works well and what does not. And even if you're not sure.. you still have an opinion." Which was not what they were really giving her and she was pretty sure she had her own ideas about what makes a good Minister. Mariel thought she might be looking for other people's opinions. "For instance," she said in a commanding voice, smiling brightly. "To me, a Minister should have a presence in the community. Not just to present their face at select events, but as someone who is involved in the needs of the community. Also, someone who can make strong decisions for the betterment of the people and can hold him or herself accountable to those decisions as well as holding others accountable for their own actions." For starters anyway.. What else did she want to know? Mariel would be happy to tell her.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Victoria looke dup noticing someone else at the door. Giving him a warm smile she gestured for him to come in, "Ferris, isn't it?" She thought that was his name at least. "I'm glad you got my note about this meeting. I hope you're hungry, there is plenty of food." he hoped he was, because it was obvious she thought there would be more in attendance then there was. [b] "I was just getting started, so you haven't missed anything. As you may know I am running for minister of magic." Since Mariel had placed it on the board she figured all knew, plus the prophet and the meet and greet. "I wanted a chance to hear from my own department on what they thought needed improved as well as give a chance for any of you to ask me questions."
Speaking of questions she turned hearing Alex speak up, she smiled at his question and was about to answer when Saxon spoke up. Both great questions, but she stopped a moment again as Mariel spoke. Now she was hearing what someone wanted out of her. "Thank you all for your comments and questions, please feel free to keep them coming." This was what she wanted along with hearing what they wanted to see improved. "As for your question about what I feel I have that will make me a better minister then my opponents. Well, I feel I have many great qualities that will make me a successful minister. My love and passion for the ministry will keep me motivated to work hard and make sure everything is running smoothly, that all the wizarding community is getting the best communication and improvements from all of us. That employees get the best care and respect for all their hard work.I have a very driven work ethic and am not afraid to take on the challenges of being minister nor do I fear working long hours. Anyone that knows me knows I am one of the first in the office each day and one of the last to leave." She was a bit of a workaholic, but it worked for this position. Making sure to make eye contact with each that had come to show that they all were important she continued, "I am very well organized and in my position as Quidditch Division Manager I have developed better communications between manager and our department, I've lead the team to make stronger and better rules and regulations to try to keep a control of unsportsmanlike conduct and making sure repeat offenders no we aren't joking anymore. I feel these skills will be handy for a minister to keep communication between departments. Which I feel needs to be stronger, how many of you have been to another department? Do you know what the other departments really? This to me is a must. We all need to know what's going on and have a respect and understanding for each others positions." Some of her reasons why she had always went to visit other departments in the last six years. "I would like to bring a work study program into the ministry and schools around the area, to help younger witches and wizards get the work experiences and the training they need to be successful once they enter jobs in the ministry as well as start bringing a way to keep our employees so there isn't a big turn over rate." This was a very important program to her and even if she didn't get to be minister she hoped to see this program happen. "I feel I am at a good advantage with my age to take on the stress and responsibilities of becoming the next minister, I also feel that being an actual part of the ministry and have been for the past six years that I know what's truly going on and have the personal and social abilities to connect with the entire wizarding world. I also have no other conflicts in our community that could impair my judgement as minister. My priority will be the ministry and what is best for our community's prosperity and safety."
Glancing around she hoped that helped their questions and gave them some specific examples of her ideas and plans. She had many program and ideas, but didn't want to be too long winded if they had more to ask.

Replying to Mariel's question "No I haven't met Adam quite yet." He was still getting to meet everyone but he was happy to be meeting everyone. Mariel had sort of knocked Alex's question out as something we don't need to really say. This meeting was made for us to give feedback to Victoria but Alex hadn't really thought of any as he was fairly new to everything. "I know I'm pretty new here but something that would be in a great leader, especially the Minister of Magic, is the knowledge of other departments. You were just the Quidditch Division Manager correct?" Alex paused after a bit to see if Vic would reply.
Alex was in no way trying to make it seem like Vic had an extremely easy job because from what he heard it was the exact opposite, or at least it seemed that way. "I guess what I'm trying to say is it would be good to have some knowledge on the other departments on what they do and some burning topics that are in regards to those departments, and have ideas that pertain to that." Alex said not thinking or not if that made the most sense. They probably think that Alex is talking too much for a young guy but he was here to help Victoria Culloden as much as possible, even if it meant playing twenty-questions.
