This was where the note taking began. It didn't really categorize under her expertise of work but she felt that even so the notes would do no harm. To add to that it would make her seem more impressive, would it not?
A community event. Erin paused at her notes for a moment and looked up. She wasn't exactly the most keenest of people to hear about this. It wasn't that she couldn't cope with crowds of people but she didn't particularly put them on the top of her 'favorite things' list. Planning though, that sounded alright. She'd be pleased to do so without an issue.
Back to notes then. Diagon Alley. She could always stop by her sister's shop if need be. She did that often, anyways.
Before discussions began, Kennedy took out his trusty small notebook. He had great memory, but there were a lot of things going on and that something just might slip. Returning greetings and shooting nods to the new peeps, he set his attention on Emily and then Legend and Simon.
So not much was found, or at all, and it isn't as if they had any luck back at Hogwarts. Although, he still had rising suspicion that sketchy things were happening at the school. Especially with what Beverly had told him. He should probably mention it when it was their turn.
The Post Office did not impress him. Well, what Legend had just said about them. Kennedy had to hide a scowl. The finger print idea was clever though, and also what Simon said about the possibility of one of the employees being the culprit.
When Emily addressed the Hogwarts group Kennedy set the notebook down. "I've gotten word from my sister who attends Hogwarts of Unicorns fleeing the Forbidden Forest and behaving apprehensively. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the Quidditch threat." But he felt he should mention it. Last time creatures fled the forest he and Kurumi had stumbled across an Acromantula, which had been an interesting experience, but what followed wasn't pleasant at all. "Other than that, nothing else."
That was all he had to say about that. More note taking. Games and Sports, and Transportation event. He underlined that. Maintain presence in Diagon Alley...this was going to be quite a busy year, wasn't it?

Simon....Legend's eyes narrowed just slightly. He had said nothing about discrediting the prints. They were taken for a reason! Just-gah. The blond sighed. It was not worth getting worked up over.
At least not here.
The conversation Quickly switched to Hogwarts and Legend already knew what Vivi would said. Of course they hadn't found anything, of course nothing suspicious, if they had discovered something they would have called for back up.
As for other issues, Legend was listening. He was, he was, he was. And he rolled his eyes at the whole 'build relationships' thing with the public. The MLE did not need to build relationships. The MLE needed to keep its distance and SERVE like they were meant to serve. Not becoming friends with possible potential threats....and other innocent people.
Questions?! "If I take on even more than more Diagon Alley patrols then can I opt out of the whole community event thing?" Serious question. Come on Em.

Choosing to remain quiet, Jackson listened, looking back and forth, as Simon muttered a few words after Emily had spoken. Jackson continue to remain silent but his attention was peaked when Kennedy updated everyone on the strange events happening at the school of Hogwarts.
'Unicorns fleeing the Forbidden Forest?' Jackson thought to himself even as he wondered what was making them flee. He rubbed his chin as he pondered the possibilities.
Any questions? Not right now, but Jackson did have a few.

Jory had been paying attention to every word uttered by the MLE members. When Emily asked about the happenings at Hogwarts, the Braxton girl gave the summary. There hadn't been much to do there but it had been great to be back even if it were for a short while.
Unicorns fleeing the Forbidden Forest was quite interesting though. Man! Why did all the excitement have to take place when they left?

Kennedy got a long cool look and a nod of approval from Genevieve when he added to her report. She thought she'd covered it pretty well, actually, but then her brother hadn't sent her anything about the creatures coming out of the forest. He had more information than she did and it stung a bit. Mo was going to get a serious talking to for letting her prattle on without knowing about the creatures.
Then again, at least it had been Kennedy. He was probably her favorite YATI-mate and the one she trusted the most in the field.
She was trying really hard not to be sulky about it as Emily continued, and her attention was caught up again by work. Questions? Absolutely. "Boss Lady? Do we know who was responsible for the disruption on Halloween? Has anyone claimed responsibility? Do we have a plan to arrest them or draw them out?"

Bennett's feelings on the matter seemed evident, and she hadn't expected much different. He got a nod from her. She needed to make contact with the woman anyway, she'd start things off... and see who could be appointed primary contact. Where was their other department liaison? Hhmmmm?

Emily sat, and fixed Chosen with a stare for a moment. Did it look like she was saying yes?

But perhaps she was being unfair, perhaps she should hear him out, at least. "By all means, Chosen, make me an offer I can't refuse..." or deal with it. His choice. If she was dragging them all into it kicking and screaming, then he wouldn't be the exception.

It was with another sip of coffee after Chosen's display that had her hiding a smirk brought on by Branxton. Boss Lady... sure. She nodded, placing her cup back down to the table. "We do... Everard Peverell is man to watch, his pet Goblin - Korpsit was present as was a female associate." The woman's name she didn't know, but it was only a matter of time. As for a plan of attack... "Did you have something in mind Branxton?" Was this a call to attention? Was she going to impress her?
Okay, seemed like not everyone were excited for the socializing events. Emily was raising them too much like her, those young peeps. "I'll happily go to those events." He decided to announce loudly this time, just so she knew SOMEBODY would be there, and wouldn't embarrass the heck out of them.
Branxton mentioned the Halloween chaos, he listened to her and Emily before chipping in, "He seems a man of twisted, nasty sense of humor, someone who enjoys chaos for no purpose. I think we should just watch him closely, wait for him to make a fatal mistake and if he does, we won't wait for him to take another breath outside court." His two knuts as a man of court law. Ouch. Shut down. Just like that. Right in front of everyone. So mean Browne. So mean. Though truth be told Legend was actually expecting it. When did Emily NOT shut him down? The number was probably so low he could count it on one hand.
The blond shrugged and leaned back in the chair. "Alright." He was good with her decision then. He didn't really have any offers, BUT if she wanted him to explain his thinking? "I mean it only makes sense to me to have one person completely focused on Diagon Alley that way if there are any subtle changes it will be more obvious for them to know then anyone else patrolling because they are wrapped up in community events."......Also he didn't want to do that other thing. "But whatever you say Em." He raised an hand and saluted her. As Vivi so nicely put it, she was the Boss Lady after all

Her golden boy was ticking a lot of boxes this morning, though, when did he not? Emily sent him an appreciative nod, at least the department wouldn't be seen to be non-cooperative with his presence there. A good egg he was. And look at that, he wasn't the only one. In fact, the Wizengamot were quickly becoming her favourite division. "Thank you, Vic, Emma," she acknowledged with more appreciative nods.
And he didn't seem to be done with winning her favours. Another brownie point for the Director of Prosecutions. "I'm inclined to agree." Or more, he was agreeing with her. Peverell was a nutcase, that much was certain, but with the exception of a big mouth and his showy attitude, he was tame. Hell, he let Zeke live... twice, that had to count for something.
Still it seemed Branxton didn't have much more to contribute on the matter, not at the minute anyway.

Alright was exactly what she wanted to hear, because frankly she wasn't going to let individuals slack off and shirk responsibilities. This was a team effort... even if the Wizengamot would be bearing the brunt of it - voluntarily.
"The community events won't detract all that much from our efforts in DA. I'm insisting on a presence, not a welcoming and closing party." Show up, be seen, ensure nobody dies, then go. Simple... no?

It pleased her to see the newbie pitching in, though perhaps she ought to stick to what she did best, prosecuting... not... luring out dark wizards with tricks. "We'll get him when the time is right, when the fish is big enough to fry and feast upon... there's no point slapping on cuffs for a petty crime which won't see him off the streets long enough to make any real impact. Of course, we're not in the business of fabricating crimes or tricking people into committing them either..." out of the box thinking, yes, but there was an awful lot of red tape with it. Tape she'd rather not deal with. There was a fair bit she could get Gavin to sign off on, but even she had limits.
And with all that said and done, she was done.
"Job tasks will be posted on the noticeboard, and take note that there's also a training opportunity should you be interested. Otherwise, I bid you all a good first official day back... and if you need anything, you know where I'll be." That last part was a stretch of the truth at best. But she was accessible for the most part.

Rusty arrived a few minutes early, half hoping that there'd be some big emergency that'd call all the MLE employees out into the field or something. Not because he was nervous, but because he was getting hungry and liked the idea of sitting around getting paid to eat sandwiches for a bit.
Still, he had work to do and was never one to shirk even if entertaining the idea could be fun for a second or two.
He wrote the first topic up on the board at the front of the room:

Then Rusty sat down on a chair near the front and kicked his feet up on the table, relaxing while he waited for people to arrive.
Or y'know, not arrive. No skin off his nose.

Jory was here, at the Conference Room for that Training thing. He had seen the notice and was quite interested. Not to mention it would benefit his training experience. Without hesitation, he stepped into the room, surveying it. Only one person there so far and it was the instructor most likely.
"Good day,'' Jory said to the man. "Jory Stonewall, third year YATI.'' Was it just him or did the man look unconcerned? He certainly looked relaxed with his feet stuck up on the table. That didn't bother Jory. As long as he benefited from this training, he was alright.

Penelope entered the conference room right behind Jory, not wanting to be anywhere close to being late. She wanted to learn everything she possibly could that would help with her training after all. So of course she was here.
Although she WAS just a little bit wary about this too. They weren't gonna be practicing memory spells and stuff on each other right? Or at least not HER, she didn't care if someone else wanted to be practiced on. She had some awful memories she sometimes felt like she wanted to forget, but that didn't mean she ACTUALLY wanted to. So yeah.
Long as that didn't happen, this course thing was totally fine and probably awesome.
"G'morning," she greeted the obliviator guy. "Penelope Greenwell." Did he need to know she was a first year YATI? Nah. He could ask if he really wanted to know that much.

Working with A&C on memory training.
Now that sounded like an interesting proposition. So Simon had made sure to make note of the day and time the training was supposed to take place and stepped into the conference time early that morning. Taking note of the occupants, there was Jory and one of the newer YATI, aka Penelope. And a vaguely familiar non-MLer that was no doubt from Level 3. Mr. Killick like the notice had named, the other man looking offly comfortable in his position at the table.
"Good morning," the auror greeted the trio simply as he walked further into the room. Inwardly debating a position and finally sitting down in a random spot at the table, notebook absently placed before him if needed.

After finishing up some urgent paperwork, Emily did the rounds through the office, checking where her teams where at with their assignments, and also seeing who would be available for the training activity which she too was about to attend. She did of course take other work with her, she could multitask and wasn't required to participate per se.
Striding into the conference room, Emily offered her employees brief nods in addition to her, "Good morning," and then there was Rustin. She flashed him a smile, before fixating her gaze on his feet... on her table. Was he keen to lose them? She took her seat, position at the head of the table at the opposite end, closest to the door.

Well and if they were all so fresh faced and whatnot as this it was reaally no wonder that Em had been the one tapped for her current position yeah? Though that one... the auror, Simon something, he wasn't quite so green looking. Rusty offered casual greetings as folk trickled in. And yes, his boots were stylish weren't they, Em? Also clean. Also was everyone noticing the marvelous colour of his boot laces?
"Morning, We'll give people a little more time to arrive." He said casually, and crossed his feet the other way, still seemingly casual and yet it drew the eye to those boots of his.
And the laces.
ooc: feel free to have your charrie think about what colour laces he's wearing.... as if its exactly the colour they see, regardless of what anyone else chooses as the colour that their charrie sees.

More people were getting there. Cool. Jory smiled at Penelope and Simon, two of the persons he really enjoyed working with. A smile for the boss lady too but none for that first year YATI Tyler. Jory was still put off that he had lost his desk because of his attitude.
Bu what was with that man and his boots? Jory's eyes trailed to the pair of footwear, unimpressed. The laces held his attention, though... they were so green.

Slipping into a seat at about the middle of the table, Penelope watched a few more enter and gave them a simple nod in greeting if they looked her way. And they were still waiting for more people or something, so she would've just examined her nails or whatever to pass the time, but the guy's shoes suddenly caught her attention.
Or not his shoes, but the laces on them. They were awfully blue, weren't they? A really dark blue, like navy. Interesting choice.

Despite them being clean and in good condition, with clean-cut-professional black laces, she couldn't really care for the attitude that accompanied the gesture. For his sake she hoped it served a purpose.
To fill the time, Emily took to reading over some paperwork while they waited.

Unbeknownst to everyone hanging about, Rusty was busy and concentrating hard, not nearly so relaxed as his casual stance might have them believe. Suddenly he swung his feet down under the table out of sight.
"The first topic, and the most important one we're covering in today's session is tampered memory identification. That includes knowing how to tell if a subject has had their memory altered, the warning signs that your own memory has been adjusted and what to do about it, and prevention methods for safeguarding your memory." Definitely important stuff. He shot a glance at Emily and then very casually put his wand on top of the table, rather than underneath where he'd been holding it.
"So here's a question, all you observant MLE types likely noticed what I'm wearing... probably saw my big shiny obnoxious black boots.... but what colour were my shoelaces? Don't bother trying to be smart and looking under the table by the way, sort of defeats the purpose."

Jory kept staring at the shoelaces for almost the entire moment the man had his feet in sight but after a while he got bored. Luckily, they were moving on. It was safe to say Memory Charms and the things that came with it fascinated the heck out of Jory.
What an easy question. Surely everyone noticed the colour of the laces. Unless they were too busy staring at the boots... something which Jory had been guilty of doing. But he answered the question quite confidently; he didn't need to peek. "They were green."

For one visiting from another department and not a department head or higher in his own right, the man supposedly leading this gathering seemed rather comfortable. Yet Simon knew enough from his training to know that could mean a few different things. And the fact that Emily didn't push the matter of his feet on the conference table told something else. Likely all would be clarified in some way during the course of events.
Soon enough, it seemed it was time to begin and an introductory question was placed. Jory was quick...with a curious answer. "A dark gray I believe," Simon said, for they hadn't appeared to be a perfect match to the boots but not too abnormal to go with them. Not that he had stared at them while they were clearly visible.
