Rounds, he was doing the rounds, and of course he had a very important message for Mr. Legend Chosen, and perhaps the team in general, maybe.
Elliot had made his way through the various parts of the office before finding himself at the Aurors desks.
"Status reports, what's happening?" Please, by all means, don't all jump at once.

HOLD THE HIPPOGRIFFS.
Legend stared, his bulged as he continued to start at one of the view people in the office that he actually trusted with his life. Breathing out through his nose, the blond gave a slight curt nod. "Yes. Yes to both Vivi I-" He didn't know what to say??? "Congrats?? I mean of course you can have less of an active role. We wouldn't want you to be rushed into anything dangerous. And PLUS with some of these YATI's in their last year, they really really need some shaping up." But also BABY.
And she was gonna LEAVE him.
Sad.
Genevieve was married to a chronic bumbler, so she found Legend's discomfort to be endearing rather than annoying. Just another of the 101 ways she was going soft in the head and heart. And pregnancy wasn't helping it at all... she'd cried bucketloads over melted ice cream last night and then again this morning when she'd remembered she couldn't have coffee and the dog had licked her hand in love and it was all SO MUCH.
Whew.
"Congrats are fine, really. I mean, we were hoping so it isn't like I wasn't expecting..." Probably too much explaining going on for the boss. Get to the point? "I'm fully capable of working the YATIs, and I think I can get them past most of their practicals if you want my help in that. Plus I'm reworking the warrant process to cut out some of the red tape, and I was thinking about changing our filing system. I'm not going to be dead weight around here. And I'll be back before you know it."

Oh. Merlin. So... hullo there, boss man's boss man. Genevieve hopped to her feet and avoided wincing as her knee slammed the bottom of her desk. "Good morning, sir. I was just explaining to Head Auror Chosen that I'm reworking the warrant process. I should have a proposal for you both by the end of the week. And I was putting in an advanced leave maternity leave request for November."
Not like Legend wasn't going to have to tell him anyway, right?

When it came to Vivi actually doing work, Legend had no worries at all. He knew that she would make anything that she took on marvellous. Which, the YATI's really needed. Marvel. And maybe more brains. "As long as you can make everything amazing-" Legend paused as his eyes flickered to the bossman."And i'm listening to her explaining." The blond said half jokingly.

Interrupting a conversation was he? That was fine with him, the hour did belong to him. Branxton, James (whatever her name was), was impressing him at least. There was something about the women in this department, so eager to please and prove themselves, well, there were exceptions to that rule... the men could take a leaf out of their book though.
"Excellent to hear, I look forward to seeing it," the Irishman grinned, and then the lightest of chuckles escaped his lips. Ahhhhh... Legend Chosen. Elliot slapped a hand on the mans shoulder, giving him a jovial shake.
"I trust you're making yourself useful also?" he added, his tone light. "And Cambridge, she's proven herself more than some of the others have, reinstate her authority to patrol as she fits." If she had no task to keep her busy, then she should at least be afforded the opportunity to stretch her legs.

Legend was being WEIRD, but at least the bossman wasn't being completely strange about her request. Announcement. Whatever they wanted to call it. She subconsciously touched her stomach as bossman man-handled Legend, and then she offered a quick smile in response to his question.
"I'm always useful, sir. As for Lex... Cambridge, I mean... she probably needs a full Auror to patrol with her, per YATI protocol and common sense." Considering that Lex Cambridge had exactly zero common sense and self preservation skills. "I can work with all of the YATI on Advanced Potionmaking, specifically poisons and antidotes. In light of some of the reports of illegal Potions making their way through Knockturn Alley..." she fished out the report on that from one of the trays on her desk and passed it along. "In light of that, we probably need to be up to speed on how to identify them."

Grinning as Elliot basically said he was the funniest guy around (without even SAYING it too! just a simple gesture), Legend nodded. "In terms of the YATI, switching the patrol pairs but also trying working out a Concealment and Disguise session." In terms of the other Aurors. Well that was another story, he had yet to look at his paper work with Vivi's baby news.
Legend raised his brows at the....what? Command? Was it a command? It certainly wasn't a suggestion. His nudged his head to Vivi as she spoke. Yesyes potions stuff very important but hold one a second!"Cambridge is still very much a loose canon. Potentially capable of great things, but you never really know with her. And that's dangerous. Plus you're forgetting that she isn't an Auror yet. Those patrols aren't hers to have." So yeah. YEAH. But, if he wanted her to do something so badly. "I'll make sure she's being productive and learning at the same time."
NOW potions. Which he was always alright at. "Make sure you see if any of them really excel." If he could find certain areas where they all fit it would make a smoother run now that he really thought about it.

Look at this beaut! Tyler could just kiss the desks and chair in this place! He wouldn't though because auror bums and all that....definitely didn't want that on his lips. He did welcome himself to a chair though and promptly propped his legs up on a desk.
His extended assignment away really took a lot out of him but he certainly was not complaining. It was about time something around this place challenged him.
He had his report to write up however and drop off in Rainey's office but man did he need to rest his feet.
Paper work could wait five minutes right? Right.

Simon wasn't used to being out of the office when the Ministry was actually open...but one could hardly go on a honeymoon in the Ministry. So once he had stepped inside he was mindful of checking out what was up and what might have happened while he was gone. Making his way up to Level 2, the familiar surroundings greeted him, and the office looked like it had survived.
And look...there was someone in. Simon noticing Tyler seemingly relaxed in one of the chairs in the auror division. "Don't look too comfortable...they'll think they're treating you too easy." A little friendly advise from a person formerly in your position. Not that he was a slacker. The older man moving towards his own desk at the security end of the room.

Tyler opened one eye to confirm that the person speaking was indeed Simon then closed it again. He was sure that this level one charmed or something because whenever he got comfortable and was on the brink of falling alseep, someone would walk in.
This was confirmation of that. He kept his position however.
"Well I'd welcome the challenge I think." He could use harder. "I just got back from assignment so I don't think Rainey will be too hard on me." He wondered if Cambridge would mind taking from galleons to scribe for him so he didn't have to do the paperwork himself.

One eye was opened and looking to him, so the YATI wasn't ignoring him, even as the younger man didn't move. Good thing Simon opted not to be totally cruel...that was the job of the likes of Rainey and Legend...especially Legend in this case. He wasn't his boss and he was still working on filling himself in on what was happening. And it felt so odd to be out of the loops. He really could be a workaholic at times.
"So another returning member..." he mused as he unspelled his desk. The security man tried to remember if Tyler had left on said assignment before he had or while he had been away. But it seemed his intuneness with the running of the building was rebooting. "One never truly knows the unpredictable." Rainey still was an enigma even with him and Simon took care to keep attention of the man.

Alright, it was obvious. He was not going to be allowed to nap. Not in the office anyways. His legs dropped to the ground and he sat up in his seat and folded his arms across his chest. See that? Alert looking Tyler.
Though he never understood why management always seemed so concerned about whether or not you look attentive and busy, when half the staff was faking it anyways. He could catch a fly with his eyes closed by now so he didn't even bother himself with 'looking busy'.
"I didn't know that you were away as well. Where did they send you?"
A slight smirk crept unto the third year YATI's lips. "Hmm a think I have Rainey mostly figured out...." Or so he thought anyways.

There went the legs.
Also the crossed arms happened, but Tyler looked like he was paying him more attention, at least from his own look out of the corner of his eye. An interesting notion, when Simon wasn't sure he was all that interesting at the moment. The former auror, checking his files to see what might be the most important to get back to if needed. To see what rounds he ought to start off with if he opted not to continue with paperwork on his first day back.
"Honeymoon..." he answered, finally looking fully at the younger man again, his left hand raised with the top of his hand facing the YATI to reveal the white gold ring band there. Simon had briefly wondered if people, especially MLE people would notice without it being pointed out to them. A sort of test of the observation skills of the small out of the way things.
Figured Rainey out? A small raised eyebrow greeted the other man. A nice answer to the smirk that greeted him. "If you say so."

"Ah..marriage..." Tyler held up his own hand to show his plain gold wedding band. "I've been in it for three years. Congratulations. May it be all you imagined it to be." He raised an imaginary glass to the man and half smiled. Turned out dating Piper and being married to her was a completely different thing but he was learning and loving as he went along.
Since he was up he figured he might as well get started on his paperwork and save himself coming up with an excuse of why exactly he hadn't done it as soon as he got back in.
"Had fun then?" He asked casually as he began to write.

Simon simply nodded at first as Tyler raised his own banded hand, having been aware the young man had been married before. "Thank you," the former auror returned to the congratulating complete with fake toast. "I think it will be," he mused with a light smile. He and Angelina has certainly known each...been with each other long enough to each know the other down to the quirks. Anything else would be learnt over their time together which would hopefully be long and happy.
As the YATI turned to his paperwork, Simon returned to his own, finally settling into his chair as he decided to stay up on Level 2 for the current duration. Plenty of things to catch up with here. His attention was partly returned to Tyler as the question was posed to him, causing him to pause in thought over the last week. "I'd say so."
There was one thing that Rhydian remembered upon first walking into the office space of the MLE. No desk.
Nadda. Not for him. Not for any other YATI bloke or blokess. Not a single desk. Not even a raised bit of cardboard, or a cardboard box. Not even a comfy chair. Really, their new Department Head should address this. It was downright appalling. Maybe he would write a letter.
After getting through the next stack of paperwork. The one nestled right there, near the out jut in the window frame that served as both a seat and a back support. Was it just him or had the stack got bigger?
With a sigh, a roll of his shoulders and a sip of the chai latte he had brought up with him, Rhydian started over to his little nook in the world. And presently stopped in front of Alexa's empty one. It was a bit of a common thing, stopping here. But at least the time he lingered had got shorter. Now, he was down to thirty seconds of standing and staring before turning and moving on.

It was the strangest thing. Lex could have been sure she'd taken ALL the files with her down to the Evidence Pensieve but shifting through them just now proved otherwise. Huh. Must have left it with the files on her patrols. She had been carrying them together before heading over there earlier.
Lex turned the corner into the office area, hardly looking left or right as she made her way to her corner of the room. Only problem was, by the time she got close enough, she realized there was someone else that felt her corner would make a good stop for the morning.
First thought? Turn and head back out, screw that file and work with the others she was in possession of. Actual action? Lex continued toward her corner, taking a deep breath as she did. This......wasn't something she could keep putting off. It was her least favourite topic in the entire world to be sure but it also concerned a topic that mattered very much to her at the same time.
The young woman came to a silent stop next to him and with a wordless flick of her wand, levitated her documents to her. Words would happen eventually; she was still working on it.

There was a strange thing that happened with brain connections first thing in the morning. They didn't always work.
So when Rhydian saw files suddenly up and moving and floating, it took a few seconds for him to comprehend what was going on. That was, to figure out that there was a person beside him, using magic. Fancy that. The second thing that took a moment to comprehend? Who exactly was standing beside him.
Sure, he'd thought about it more than he should have in the past few weeks. Worked on what he would say, how he would act and all the rest. Being in the moment however? Didn't really work like that. In fact, it was about the exact opposite. His brain went a bit fuzzy, there was some sort of prickly sensation drawing up his arms and his gut did all sorts of flips and twists. His mouth? Dry. It took a few seconds to work his tongue around before he found enough courage to speak.
"...You know, it's amazing that all wizards and witches aren't fat slobs with how lazy our wands allow us to be." Brilliant. Bloody brilliant. Knob.
Turning slightly, Rhydian considered Lex from the corners of his eyes. He couldn't help but stare a little, but not in a bad way. It just felt like an age since he had seen her. "You're looking good, though." As in not fat or slobbish. Maybe even a bit skinnier. Hard to tell from this visual angle.

...
......
He just called her lazy....she was almost sure he did--alluded to her being a slob too, right before he went and...oh Merlin, no. This wasn't going to be a thing. Not if she could help it. This...this....small talk business; Lex had never been one to waste her time on it and she wouldn't start now. "Right..." She said with a small nod, eyeing him in much the same way he was eyeing her. "...We're not doing that." Small talk; no. She refused to believe things had gotten that bad between them both in what she thought was a short space of time which admittedly blew by so quickly that she didn't know where it went. Everything was a daze, one in which she couldn't remember half the things that happened.
With a sigh--because something told her she'd regret this--Alexa lowered the documents once more then took a seat in the corner. "Sit with me?" She patted the floor next to her, inviting him to have a seat if he wanted it.
"I'd rather we discuss the erumpent in the room than my weight and hygienic practices." A poorly injected shot of humour that came with a small smile but there it was.

And cue awkwardness, which came with its own neck-rubbing. The way she was looking at him, more than the words, had him loosing his own. Not doing that. Right. Sure. As in...not talking, period?
Oh wait, she was sitting and....what was this now? They were going to talk? Rhydian hesitated for a brief moment. It wasn't that he didn't want to talk. It was all he had wanted to do for the past few weeks. It was just strange that now it was time, and more than that she was asking for him to take a seat while doing it.
Still, he found his legs obeying before he even gave them command to. And momentarily, he was sitting beside her. And still side eyeing. Erupment. Right. That.
He let out a slow breath. "Fair enough." Though, what to say about the erupment? That was the tricky part. That he was sorry? 'Cept, he wasn't. Not by a long shot. Just, sorry that it had happened the way it did. Then again, he had done enough talking for the both of them that day, and by the look on her face he was guessing that there was something she wanted to say. Or maybe he was just hoping. Either way, he decided she should have the floor first.
"I...don't know where to begin. Do...you?"

If he preferred to remain standing, she wasn't going to make a big deal about it, really she wasn't. Just...the neck strain, y'know? Plus the angle might have made the conversation awkward--more awkward than it already had the potential to be. Naturally she was pleased with the fact he'd opted for the seat next to her so they could be at a better level. Shoulder to shoulder and everything. That was the first step. After avoiding him for so long, she was finally sitting down with him and they could......talk. Someone remind her why she was listening to Lottie again? Sitting here, this suddenly didn't seem like such a good idea anymore and the former Gryffindor had to fight the urge to get up and bolt leave.
Unfortunately, as was the case when she'd gone for a drink with Abbi, she was again going to have to go first. You think she'd be used to this by now but apparently context made all the difference.
"I...think I do." Lex was sure to shift so she could proper look him in the eyes. "You do know I wasn't trying to hurt you, right?"
Someone tell her that much was obvious at least. Circe.

Oh good. Well at least they weren't going to be at a Mexican stand-off. They didn't have the appropriate hat wear for something like that.
But all joking matters aside, as silent as they were, Lex's 'starting point' was a bit of a hard hitter. He was in the process of turning towards her as well, when she spoke, and abruptly stopped. Strangely, he found he could only hold her gaze for a minute, before having to look elsewhere. The floor specifically.
His brows scrunched up as he forced any mental imagry out of his head. Wasn't trying to hurt him. Rhydian mulled the words around his emotions, around what he had been trying to sort out in his head. Finally, he nodded. Slowly, but it was a nod. "I know that."
Truthfully and honestly, he did. Didn't really change the fact that it had hurt. His eyes went back up to her, and he was slightly surprised to find a sincere smile on his lips, as faint as it was. "You're a free spirit." He shrugged. "It's one of the things I like about you."
Too soon? Hopefully not.

That wouldn't be any good. Confirming was one thing, but she needed him to look at her, really look at her and understand what she was saying because she didn't want any further communication gaps between them and she wanted this taken care of. It was a relief to know he knew that much. It wasn't an accident....but it wasn't a malicious act either.
Just when he sounded like he was really getting to the meat of the matter, he went and brought up the reason she'd left her apartment so fast that day. Alexa Cambridge did not abandon chocolate; it spoke to just how serious this was.
Another silence fell between them but her gaze remained fixed. She'd had words prepared vaguely but they were all gone now, forcing her to think up new ones.
The problem with moving forward was just how far she was thrown off by his last sentence. It just brought her right back to that. In the end she chose to pretend he hadn't said it, focusing instead on what he'd said about being a free spirit. "Right. Exactly and I like being that way. When I said I didn't do titles or commitment...I wasn't trying to be difficult." Lots of people thought that was the case for some reason or another. "It's just...real confining and that's not how I work." Even 'loose titles' were confining if his reaction was anything to go off of.
There had been some expectations, that was clear enough now; expectations she hadn't been aware of.

Now that they were having this conversation, Rhydian was starting to wish they weren't. Still, he forced himself to remain in place and willed himself to hold her gaze. As hard as it was. As much as he wanted to keep looking away.
So, instead, he nodded his head. He understood. Really, he did. "I know. I do know." But that didn't seem like a good enough explanation, and he felt he owed her an explanation, given that was what they had agreed on in the first place. No titles, no commitments. Nothing.
Reaching up, he rubbed his neck and then pulled his hand forward through his hair, leaving it a right mess. "I know...and I'm sorry. It just....happened for me, Lex. I can't say I intended it. It just...kinda...grew." Did that make sense? He winced, remembering how that line of conversation went the first time. "I didn't....don't expect you to return it. Just thought...I might have been enough."
At this, he spared her a small, playful smile. "You know I think a lot of myself." And she'd always been able to knock his pride back a peg or two.

*comes in like a wrecking ball* XD hihi, MEETING TIME!
½ EagleBrain ♥ Creeperdoodle ♥ Raven Dor ♥ Berry ♥ ½ Team House Elf
Was that sap she was hearing? Circe help her.
Despite the desire to pretend she heard nothing, to turn and to make her presence known elsewhere... there was work to be done. "I'm not interrupting a moment am I?" she greeted curtly, hazel eyes scanning the two YATI in the office. And where exactly was everyone else? At least these two were on time, though whether that was by design or simply a matter of convenience was yet to be seen.
Negating the wards on one of the desks in their vicinity, she took a moment to lean against it, perching herself only on the very corner of it.
"Cambridge, what's the status with the Russian's?" May as well kick things off... the others could catch up.

Well it was only fitting that his old boss came back right as he stepped into a new season of his life. He was just starting to get used to the other one too, even if he didn't entirely trust him.
And Oh!....
Was he late? Tyler checked his watch. Shouldn't be.
"G'day." He mumbled as he made his way into the office and took a seat. Seemed he was late since Emily had already started with the YATIs.
