Having known the direction wasn't to be taken lightly nor dallied with, Simon had worked as quickly as he could to retrieve what was asked for without appearing rushed. No sense in drawing attention to himself. Just getting something that would help the cursed auror back upstairs. No big deal for the rest of the ministry that might happen to see him as he traveled back and forth between the atrium and Level 2.
Nevertheless he was soon enough back in the department with his purchases from the food court, a couple of chocolate frogs and a few cookies that passed the chocolate requirement. And a bottle of water just in case. Stepping back inside the office, he wordlessly slipped to Genevieve's desk and placed the plate and bottle upon it. The man taking note of no other faces in the room besides the original three as he stepped back. Wwasn't there a healer to be coming?

Oh, chocolate. Genevieve gratefully nibbled on the webbed toes of the first chocolate frog, and once the warmth started to return to her hands, she tried reaching for her water again. This time, more successfully. She tried not to notice how Emily's line of questions were turning, and Genevieve didn't want to get in trouble... but more, she didn't want to try to place the blame on anyone else's head.
"I was on patrol, that's all. I've been down Knockturn before, but never alone, and I didn't think it would make a difference. It's... my fault. All mine." No one else's, even if it got her in trouble for doing something so stupid. She opened her second chocolate frog and gave Simon a nod of thanks for his help.

It was the first time MLE had a situation that needed her assistance. It didn't come as a shock to Vanessa to be honest. She knew what the Auror office did, and she wasn't too surprised when she had to go up there. She only hoped that it wasn't too bad. A trip to St. Mungos wasn't really on her to do list today. The woman had grabbed her on call kit, and had headed up to level 2.
"You needed a healer?" She asked as she walked into the auror office.

Bennett had been fairly efficient in fulfilling her requests, so he received a nod which conveyed her gratitude. However, it was Branxton that had her attention, and despite all of what she'd been through, she was still up for justifications. Emily knew she was a fighter.. but still. "Let's... not do that again, yeah?" she mused for the time being.
But alas. Finally, a Healer on their proverbial doorstep.
"Yes, Ms Branxton here was cursed, I'd like for you to look her over, thoroughly."
Need she say more? Chances were that the message she received was the be all and end of this round, but one did not take chances, and at any rate... it was standard protocol to receive a clean bill of health.
Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee
They'd called a HEALER? How mortifying was that? Genevieve burned darkly with shame and tried to stuff the rest of the chocolate frog into her mouth, just in case that somehow counteracted any negative effects of curses. She wanted to get the all clear and hop back into action, even if she still felt a little shaky on her feet. Most of her exhaustion was from keeping the screaming from happening until she got to Emily... to do it in person.
"I'm really feeling fine. Reflexes? Perfect. Pulse... steady and slow. Blood pressure," she patted herself, since there wasn't a way to measure it herself. "Good, it's good. Definitely. Inclination to vomit is nill, and desire to return to duty is strong. All clear!" She mimicked to the Healer that she could just sign the form and be on her way 'cause Genevieve was fine.
"And nope, no more rounds by myself. Lesson learned."

Training for the day was complete and Tyler wasn't exactly sure what he was suppose to do after training so he made his way back to the den. Yeah Legend had told them that they couldn't have desks or whatever but he never said that they couldn't sit at someone else's desk until they were ready for it.
He strolled past everyone standing by Vivi, glancing quickly in their direction before beelining for a desk at he back.
He'd just chill here until something exciting happened. Chair kicked back and feet up. Yep.
Chilling.

It was going to be a good day. Good day. Yeah. Legend was sure of it. He woke up in a good mood this morning and he didn't burn his breakfast and he had gotten coffee and everything was just GOOD.
Until he spotted Tyler Bellaire.
With a silent flick of his right hand he shot a Levicorpus jinx right at the YATI's way.

Meanwhile, Sky hadn't been nearly as bold as her co-YATI. Nope, she had picked out a spot on the floor and was currently sitting there doing some last minute editing on a paper that she had to turn in for her class that afternoon. Using her legs as a desk and the wall as a prop to lean against, of course. Though she wasn't without her own way of rebelling, for right above her head was a new addition to the wall. A poster whose contents were sure to stir up a lot of talk, swiped from the kitchen table of a certain someone who shall remain nameless, but if you knew anything at all about Sky, you could guess who they were.
Despite not having been as bold as her fellow YATI, Sky did think their supervisor's actions were a bit overboard. "Really?" was her only comment though.

Assignments, she needed to see where they were on those... there were tasks she needed having done, things that the MLES had made a start with, but required more man power. AKA, YATI... work them to the bone and so forth. Easy stuff mind you, they surely couldn't get into much trouble with it.
Striding through the Auror hangout, Emily watched amused as Chosen and Bellaire seemed to be having a moment. Awwww, how... touching. She was about to signal Chosen when she noticed something... disturbing. A campaign poster on her level.
Uh. No.
With a flick of her wand the posted fell from the wall, she'd have set the thing on fire too, but civility wasn't beyond her - the girl could still save and use this one if she wanted to or else it would be burned. "No campaign items of any kind on my level thank you Miss Carter-Hope. I appreciate you want to support your Aunt, but keep it to public forums only." If she saw it again, there would be ramifications. And yes, that could happen. The YATI institute would just love to hear how one of their trainees weren't following commands now wouldn't they?
"Now how are we going?" General question. Easy to answer. Someone, go.

Tyler threw out every curse word that would come to mind when Legend shot the jinx at him and he found himself dangling in the air by his feet. He shook his head and aimed his own wand up muttering Liberacorpus. He was on his feet as soon as he fell and was back to glaring at the Yati leader.
"Git..." Yes that was what he was. He looked at the head boss. "Did you see what he did?" Completely unprovoked that was.
And he had a witness...that woman on the ground she saw everything. Ugh.

Having been down in the other levels checking on things, Simon had eventually made the plan to return to the office for follow-up. His belongings had been stashed and secured in his desk when he had come in in the morning. He was greeted by the sight of an auror head, a department head and a couple of YATI, one of which was currently hanging by his ankles in the air.
"Not going to ask..." he commented quietly with a shake of his head as he moved to his own work area. Either Bellaire had done something or Legend was just being Legend and now the office had a hanging decoration that even Emily seemed amused by. The auror was leaning towards the latter explanation, well aware of his fellow former Gryffindor's perchance for causing such things having been on the other end of them often.
Now as for Emily's presence in the office, Simon wondered if there had been a reason and if it included him or just the trainees. At the moment, he chose to remain silent so as not to interrupt if it didn't.

As the YATI hung upside down Legend slowly walked over to his desk and set down his cup of coffee. It took just enough time for Bellaire to do the counter curse. Turning back to face the other man cooly he was met with one of the most frigid stares he had seen.
Cool.
"Git?" Legend smiled as he repeated the word he was sure Bellaire had uttered. Turning his head to his boss he gave her a small salute. It was also when he noticed Simon's entrance, and Sky on the floor. "We're going pretty good Em. Except for Mr. Bellaire over here. You see Mr.Bellaire seems to have a blatant disregard for authority." He turned his attention back to Tyler. " I don't know if he has a problem with me. Or the fact that everyone knows that if he left this office with now no one would actually give a damn because that's how unneeded he really is." Yawing Legend grabbed his cup of coffee again and turned back to Emily. His eyes flickered on Sky for a second, she could have told Tyler to knock it off. But she hadn't. "That being said, I think that if he wants to continue to act like a child he'll probably need someone to follow him around holding his hand from now on."
So yeah. THAT'S what was going on.

At least boss lady hadn't balled the poster up and thrown it. That earned her some brownie points in Sky's book. Some, mind you. Because she wasn't exactly retracting Legend's dumb, 'no YATIs get desks rule'. And it was rather hard to get work done on the floor. "Yes, boss," was the only thing that she said on that subject. Because, again, boss lady had been nice about it.
Legend, however was keeping his 'Piece of Work' label in the young YATI's mind. Though, she wasn't going to get involved in whatever that was between him and Bellaire, nope. She had enough on her plate between being in her final year of uni, Auror training and helping with her aunt's campaign without getting dragged into that power struggle. The last comment, however, felt a little overboard. "Boys are being boys, basically." Because that was an accurate summary, right? Mmmhmm.

Yes Boss... Merlin was that sweet music to her ears. Girl didn't earn herself any brownie points, but she did earn herself some favourable points nonetheless. Which was more than what could be said of Bellaire. Boys being boys was no excuse, not where work was concerned. At least Bennett kept his nose clean... in the work place.
Honestly though, Chosen didn't even need to step in to defend himself, she had his back.
"You're lucky that's all you got," she started with a light chuckle. Disarming the wards of one of the nearby desks - because she could - she casually leaned against it. Did he really want to hear what she thought about it? She, being the boss. "Attitude's will be tolerated to an extent once you have been tried, tested and accepted into our team. Need I remind you that you are a training Auror? One we do not have to facilitate in our firm?" If that wasn't warning enough for his childlike behaviour then she didn't know what was. But alas, she wasn't finished quite yet. Bored expression in place, she continued.
"As Head Auror, Mr. Chosen has the ability and the right to train you in any way he deems fit, as does your YATI leader (Josh Carter/Fira), and any other qualified Auror in this firm. If that means testing and challenging your preparedness, then so be it. But if you're not cut out for it, you know where the door is." Was he comprehending? Nobody was going to molly-coddle him and let him kick his feet up on their furniture which he did not have a stake to. Bottom line? "Shape up, or ship out. We train Aurors, we do not babysit self-entitled young adults." Learn the difference.
But enough.
"I have work for you."
Were they interested? Did they even want to stretch their legs? Or would she need to start advertising for new staff/replacement YATI?

Tyler really just rolled his eyes to whatever the hell Legend had said because he didn't care and his word was wind..literally..without substance..He was just beating his chest because he got to the top first..because he started first.
Did he want a cookie for that?
The only person acting like a child was Legend, who came in and played some cheap trick on him. Oh wow..he could twirl his wand. Hogwartians.
Boss lady was going to side with him? Fine..he didn't care and he wouldn't respond either.
He got accepted in and was already being annoyed by these people. He'd just see it out.

After a short break to grab a small bite to eat, Penelope returned to level 2, entering the desk area while the boss lady was talking. And by what she was saying, apparently something had happened. Another squabble or something? Merlin. Penelope was glad to have missed that.
She had work for them though? All of them or just a particular group? Boss lady hadn't specified, so she was gonna assume everyone for now.
"What kinda work?" Penelope would probably be interested no matter it was though. Just about anything that kept her busy was fine with her.

Legend remembered back when there was a time when he loved coming in to work. It seemed so very long ago but-oh-no it was just before Tyler appeared.
Running his hand through his hair he turned all his attention on Emily and none of it on the ticking time bomb that was about to loose his spot in the office completely.
As Emily spoke up and supported him, Legend didn't feel any better about the situation. How easily she got respect made him feel a pang of jealously. It wasn't just the fact that she was the head of the MLE. It was the fact that she was Emily. I had always been that way for her. While he was always stuck, struggling to be taken seriously when it was NEVER something he had aimed for before.
Stuffing his hand in his pockets his face remained completely blank. "All the YATI's in on this one?" Not a question question, more like a conformation.

Aaaahh, Greenwell. "Busy work," was her reply. Honestly, had none of them checked the notices? Did she need to start burning it into their foreheads on their way into the office? She gave Chosen a nod, "Absolutely, unless you feel they aren't up to the task," because then he could have them do something more tedious to do that didn't look nearly as impressive on their work experience log. "Squad Patrol units require assistance with some rounds in Diagon Alley, vendor licenses need to be checked and pay the shops a visit too, maintain a presence." The MLES were spread thin these past weeks.
In addition to that, she slipped Chosen a slip of paper with recommendations for the YATI patrol routes and hours. Obviously they weren't to go out alone, but they were to go out. They needed to log their hours somehow, and this would get them on the street and in amongst it without sending them to an early grave. "Questions?" She trusted Chosen to take it from here.

'Busy work' was vague, but more details were given right after, thankfully. Didn't sound super exciting, but that was fine. Had to start small and get experience somehow after all. Unless Chosen decided they couldn't, but y'know...hopefully he'd think it was fine.
Other than that, everything seemed pretty straightforward, so she shook her head. She had no questions right now.

New Year...new start at work.
This time it was certainly going to be different then most. More like the one that signified he had graduated from YATI to full auror. Except this time he was making a lateral transfer not an upward on. There had been mixed feelings that morning as he remembered the plan and contract he had done up with Emily before the holiday break. The one that made him full security and outside the realm of the auror office.
So it was with a sharp exhale of breath that he had stepped off the lift that morning and made his way to the office. At least it was the same room and not down the hall on the other side of the department. Stepping into the room, he crossed to his desk and with a wave of his wand over the surface, released the enchantments with a silent incantation. Then in a wave of nostalgia he sat down at the chair and rested back, his gaze seemingly up at the ceiling.
Sigh.

It said something when people got in earlier than their bosses, or earlier than anyone for that matter. Keener, workaholic, troubled or insomniac. Sabel could tick off the list which of those applied to him, but it was harder doing so for Simon.
The man was the first thing that Sabel noticed when he pushed open the door to the office, tray of coffees in both hands, breathing deep the familiar old-paper smell of the space. That, and the personal raincloud that the guy had hanging over his head. A glance about told him that no one else had arrived yet, so they had a few minutes before they would have to pile into the conference room.
Walking quietly up behind his friend's chair, Sabel reached over the man's shoulder, holding the coffee trays out in front of him. "On the left are plain blacks: the first two with sugar and cream, the second two straight black. On the right we have the coffee for the kiddo's: mochas and lattes and all those fancy things. You, early riser, get first dibs."
In other words, welcome back.

Yes he heard the door.
And yeah, he heard the footsteps.
Simon hadn't shut himself out of the world in his thoughts. There was too much training in his brain with them to allow the full effect. He continued starring most at the ceiling for a few more moments as Sabel rattled off the exact detailed contents of the trays before finally slowly straightening up.
"So out of touch you've been..." he mused as he returned to his natural posture. "...to forget coffee isn't the way to my heart." Sure he drank it on occasion, but not the way most MLErs did. That he reserved for the true British task of drinking tea. That being said, he filched one of the cream and sugar ones since it was the least objectionable of the options for him at the moment.

Sabel's arms sagged a little bit as he blinked down at the top of his friend's head. "Wow... Tough crowd, tough crowd."
Though really, it was his bad. He should have known better. He would blame it on life and time. Horrible excuses, but there they were.
At least the man knew how to compromise, and once he had his pick, Sabel withdrew. "I'm sure there's a charm to turn it into whatever you would like."
Using a foot to snag a chair from a nearby, currently unoccupied desk, he pulled it over until it was saddled up to Simon's desk. Plopping down into the chair and placing the coffee trays on the desk, Sabel considered his friend for a long moment. "While I may not be brushed up on drink orders, I'm not so out of touch to see something's eating you. What's going on?"

Simon meerly shrugged at the mention of changing it. He could deal with it the way it was...no biggie. Giving his coffee a blow as if to cool it once he had opened the cup, he absently watched as Sabel joined him at his desk. It was then that the question was raised as to his mood that he should have known his friend would pick up. So maybe Sabel hadn't totally forgotten stuff about him. He took a sip, allowing it to be a distraction as he thought on the right words to answer...there would be no way to avoid it really.
"Change...change is eating me," Simon finally answered before releasing another breath. "Even when you give a lot of thought to the decision that brings it on," he added, his eyes flitting over to the other portion of the office. The place where he was headed, once he got a move on.

Why did it seem like so big a deal?
"Change." Sabel repeated, watching his friend closely for a moment. "You mean, the type of change where you are moving..." he lifted his hand and counted the rows of desks to the other side of the room, the security side. "Eight...eight rows away from here?"
His friend hadn't said much, or anything really, of any change, but the way his eyes went coupled with his 'new' title at the Orientation left Sabel with a good guess. And if he was wrong, well then Simon was free to tell him, and would tell him. For now it was hoping and wishful thinking that he was staying within the ministry. Why else would he have been at the Orientation if he wasn't.
Picking out one of the coffee's from the tray, Sabel turned it about on the desk. "It's not like you're crossing the Pacific Ocean." Unless he was. If so, then there would be words. More serious words. His attention went back to Simon, searching. Was he going to tell him otherwise?
