Default Volcanoes

Out on the southwestern headland of Easter Island, sits the extinct volcano, Rano Kau. Lava has not flowed from this large crater since before the first wizarding world, and with a lake and marshes now dotting the crater's floor, it won't anytime soon. A trail leads up the side of the volcano, ending at the beautiful high sea cliffs that make up most of the volcano. You can walk the trail taken by most muggles and let the trade winds attempt in vain to carry you away, or maybe enjoy a nice picnic at the top while you watch birds of prey ride the thermals within the crater....

Or you could join those large birds by first stopping by the small souvenir shop on the outskirts of the village, and renting brooms from the elderly couple who run the place. The winds are much more successful at carrying you away on brooms, so it's not suggested that those with low skill levels explore the volcano from the skies.

If you follow the birds on broomsticks they may lead you to Motu Nui, the largest islet just south of the island that has numerous caves just begging to be explored by you and your company. Enjoy the signs of past human usage, but do be careful the brooms don't get impaired at the narrow entrances and crawl spaces. The damage fee for them is a hefty one.
