Lindsey: A Tale at Hogwarts - Sa9+

Chapter one

A girl with short ginger hair walked up to Kings Cross with her parents. This girl was called Lindsey Jenkins.
‘We’re going to miss you, Lindsey!’ her mum cried.
‘Make us proud.’ her dad told her.
‘I’ll try!’ Lindsey reassured her dad. She ran through the wall between platform 9 and 10 and came onto platform 9 ¾. Whoa! She thought as she saw the Hogwarts Express. She wheeled her luggage along and carried her cat, Dumpling, in her cage. She gave the man her ticket and walked onto the train. She walked into the corridor and into a compartment. She sat down and put her luggage in the luggage containers. A girl with long, black wavy hair and a cheeky smile walked in. ‘Hello, may I sit here?’ the girl asked. ‘Yeah, sure!’ Lindsey grinned. She needed to make a friend!
The girl sat, ‘Hey, I’m Holly! Holly Barker’ the girl said with a smile
‘Hi, I’m Lindsey!’ Lindsey smiled back. Holly looked like someone she would like to be in a class with! ‘Is this your first year?’ Lindsey asked
‘Yup, yours?’ Holly replied
‘Yes, I’m really nervous, I don’t know anything about Hogwarts, you see-’ Lindsey never got to finish her answer
'Oh, Hogwarts is great!’ Holly grinned. When Lindsey looked confused as to how Holly got this information, Holly expanded. ‘My brother goes here!’ Holly told her. ‘Anyway, the Headmistress is Minerva McGonagall, there are four house, which are Gryffindor, who are brave, Hufflepuff, loyal, Ravenclaw, wise and Slytherin, cunning!’ Holly finished off impressively. ‘I want to be in Gryffindor! What about you?’ Holly asked
‘Well, from what I can tell, I don’t really understand… I don’t mind! Do we have to choose?’ Lindsey asked alerted. She could never choose.
‘Oh, no! I forgot to mention, we put a hat on our head, and it decides where we would be better placed!’ Holly told her reassuringly.
‘Oh, good! I don’t know any of this as I’m a Muggleborn…’ Lindsey told Holly.
‘Don’t worry, it won’t make any difference! Ooh! We’d better get into our robes! I can see Hogwarts!’

Chapter two
As Holly said this, Lindsey turned to the window and saw Hogwarts. She got into her robes and sat back down, watching the castle get closer. ‘I’m really going, aren’t I?’ Lindsey said breathlessly. She had thought this had all been a dream, and was waiting to wake up! ‘OMGosh! Holly? Do I look alright?’ Lindsey asked, spinning around.
‘Yes, you look fine!’ Holly grinned. ‘Do I?’
‘Yep!’ Lindsey grinned
‘Hmm, I think black looks a bit dull!’ Holly said
‘Wha-’ Lindsey didn’t finish as Holly had screwed up her face and her hair turned blonde. ‘HOW DID YOU DO THAT?’ Lindsey asked awestruck
‘Did I forget to mention? Sorry, I’m a Metamorphagus!’ just as Lindsey was about to ask what this was, Holly continued. ‘I can change my appearance at will!’ Lindsey grinned at her. That was seriously cool! I wonder ho-
‘Ooh! We’re here!’ Holly interrupted Lindsey’s thoughts.
They got their stuff and walked off of the train and onto the ground. They heard a voice saying ‘Firs’ years! Firs’ years! Over ‘ere!’ so she and Holly followed the voice and found a terribly tall man looming over them, but was grinning. ‘’ello!’ the man said to them. ‘We’re takin’ boats over ter Hogwarts, where yeh’ll be Sorted… Oops! Don’ wan’ ter give yeh too much information! My name’s Hagrid and I am the Groundskeeper o’ Hogwarts!’ Hagrid told all of the first years. ‘All righ’ then, if yeh’ll follow me please! We’ll get yeh to the boats!’ Lindsey exchanged a glance with Holly and they followed Hagrid to a boat. ‘Four ter a boat! Four ter a boat!’ Hagrid called and Holly and Lindsey shot into the first one, and were joined by another girl and a boy. The boy stuck his hand out and said ‘Hello, my name’s Ben Smith!’ Lindsey and Holly shook his hand and told him their names. The girl didn’t say anything, and completely ignored their hands when they shot them forwards to greet her and turned away instead. Ben leant over, ‘Don’t worry about her, she won’t speak to anyone! I’m not sure if she’s antisocial or just plain rude!’ Ben told them in a whisper. Lindsey and Holly nodded to show they understood, and Ben asked them about who they supported. ‘I support Manchester United!’ Lindsey told them, and when she got some odd glances back, she said ‘The football team?’ Ben laughed and shook his head. ‘No, Quidditch!’
‘What’s Quidditch?’ Lindsey asked intrigued.

Chapter 3
The looks she got then were even more odd. ‘What’s Quidditch? What’s Quidditch? Is she for real?’ Ben asked Holly.
‘She’s a Muggleborn!’ Holly told Ben
‘A Mudblood?’ the rude girl sneered. ‘I’m a Pureblood!’ the girl said proudly. Then looked away again.
Ben gasped. Holly turned her hair massive and red. ’How dare you call her a you-know-what!’
‘I dare very easily!’ the girl said surprised anyone could ask a stupid question like that.
‘Ignore her!’ Ben said scornfully ‘Quidditch is a game played on broomsticks. There are seven on a team, one Keeper, two Beater, three Chasers and one Seeker! The Keepers guard the goals, the Chasers try to score, the Beaters hit the Bludgers at the opposite team and keep the Bludgers away from their own team, and the Seeker has to catch the Golden Snitch to gain an extra 150 points for their team! The team with the Snitch usually win!’ Ben said excitedly. ‘I support Puddlemere United! They have the best Keeper ever! His name’s Oliver Wood! He was the Keeper for Gryffindor at Hogwarts!’
‘I support the Chudley Cannons!’ Holly said proudly. ‘They’re second for the first time in many decades!’
‘I don’t support anyone!’ Lindsey said disappointed she couldn’t take part in the conversation.
‘Oh, well! Which lesson are you looking forward to?’ Holly asked them both.
‘Herbology!’ Ben said excitedly
‘What are the lessons?’ Lindsey asked Holly
‘Well,’ Holly started, ‘you’ve got; Charms, Transfiguration, Herbology, Potions, Arithmancy, Divination, Astronomy…’
‘Don’t forget Defence Against the Dark Arts!’ Ben shot in.
‘Oh, yeah!’ Holly said.
‘ Do you think we’re nearly there?’ Lindsey asked
‘Probably!’ Holly grinned

Pretty good story line so far. I'll keep checking for updates. pams :)

ALRIGHTY, PEEPS! HERE'S THE NEXT CHAPTER! Sorry it's so short, I was writing in my notebook, and what seems like a lot in notebook pages insn't a lot on word! :lmao:


As the three friends talked, Hogwarts grew nearer. As Hogwarts grew nearer, the three friends grew more excited. ‘What happens when we get there?’ Lindsey asked.
‘Well, we queue to find out which House we’re going to be in!’ Holly answered excitedly.
‘What House would you like to be in, Ben?’ Lindsey turned towards Ben.
‘Gryffindor!’ Ben grinned.
‘Ooh, same here!’ Lindsey grinned
‘Well, if you two want to be in Gryffindor, I do too!’ Lindsey grinned. ‘Ooh! There’s Hogwarts!’ Lindsey gasped. In the distance, she could see a blob coming into view. It looked like a castle, but she couldn‘t be sure…
‘Look ‘ere firs’ years! It’s ‘Ogwarts! There’s yer firs’ look a’ it!’ Hagrid said proudly
‘Wow!’ the trio said together.
‘Hmph, I’ve seen better!’ the rude girl sneered. ‘If you ask me, my house is way more magnificent!’
‘Who asked you?’ Lindsey, Holly and Ben said at the same time.
‘Hmph!’ the girl pouted.
‘We’re ‘ere!’ Hagrid boomed across to them all.

Good ole' Hagrid. He's my favorite. :) I'm glad you didn't leave him out! I wonder what houses they will be in...

That rude girl is a bloody brat if you ask me. Don't worry about the length of each chapter. Just make sure you're happy with it before posting. Besides do you know how many times my stories change while I'm typing them out? You don't even want to know. If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line. Well done chapter:)

Ohh great post its ok about it being short, the same thing happens to me. My new story on here I typed on word but it was double spaced or something so it seemed short when it came up on SS.
But dont worry even small chapters are amazing chapters like that one.

Chapter 5
‘Ooh!’ Lindsey and Holly cheered.
‘Yes!’ Ben said, punching the air and losing his balance, only to be pushed back on by a… Squid?
‘What was that!?’ Holly said, scared as her hair turned dangerously red.
‘WOAH!’ Ben shouted.
‘Metamorsinthas’ Lindsey said matter-of-factly.
‘Metamorphagus!’ Holly laughed at Lindsey’s failed attempt to pronounce it, then her hair changed back to blond as she laughed.
‘OK….?’ Ben laughed. ‘And that means you can change your appearance by will, right?’
‘Right!‘ Holly laughed
Lindsey laughed too, happy to have found some friends.
The boat touched the shore and the trio were about to jump off, but the rude girl pushed them aside and Lindsey nearly fell in, only to be grabbed by Ben, whose face had gone dangerously red, while Holly leapt off and ran to confront the girl. ‘Oi! You! You just pushed her!’ Holly fumed
‘So? It’s only a Mudblood!’ the girl laughed cruelly, as she walked off.
‘Don’t listen to her, Lindsey!’ Ben told her. 'You're twice what she is!' Ben said, going pink in the face.
They jumped onto the shore and headed to Hogwarts, Lindsey not feeling assured that it was just because she was a Muggleborn that amde the girl angry.

Great chapter that girls a mean ole nincompoop :lol:

Yeah, I was sort of thinking that, except I wanted two girls, as the girls seem to be a bit undermined, as you see a lot of Seamus, Neville etc, but not a lot of the girls! :lol:

It's back to regular sized ones for now... :D

Chapter 6
Lindsey’s first impression of Hogwarts was ‘It’s going to crumble down at any moment!’ which she said out loud.
‘Lindsey? Of course it does, a battle literally just happened, like a year ago!’, when Lindsey looked confused, Holly expanded. ‘Back then, there was a man or part man, called… Well, we call him You-Know-Who… He killed a lot of people, but one day, he went to kill a little boy after killing his parents, but the killing curse backfired, destroying some of him… He was very weak for many years after trying to kill Harry Potter… Harry defeated him many times, but You-Know-Who came back, and started his reign of terror again… He came to Hogwarts after learning Harry had returned, and during what we call the ‘Battle of Hogwarts’ Harry killed You-Know-Who… They’ve only just finished repairs on the castle…’
‘Whoa…’ Lindsey said.
Inside, though, Hogwarts was decorative as a Cathedral! Probably more! She saw something flying around, and when one flew through her, and she experienced a shivering feeling, Holly told her they were Ghosts!
‘Hello, first years!’ a strict-looking lady walked towards them. ‘My name is Minerva McGonagall, and I am your Headmistress! What we are about to do is get you all Sorted! I will call your name and you will walk out and place the Sorting Hat on your head, and it will tell you which House you are to be in… Do I make myself clear?’ The first years nodded in agreement. ‘Right, I will see you out there, then!’ and she walked into the next room.
A moments silence passed and a sudden load of muttering rang through the room. ‘OMGosh! Here we go!’ Lindsey said excitedly. ‘Holly, you’ll be first out of us!’ Lindsey grinned.
‘I know! I’m terrified!’
Just then a voice rang out from the next room… ‘Anasi, Kate!’ Professor McGonagall called out. A short girl with long blonde hair walked out, looking terrified. ‘HUFFLEPUFF!’ a strange voice shouted out. ‘I wonder who that was?’ Lindsey asked. After a few minutes, McGonagall called out, ‘Barker, Holly!’
‘Wish me luck!’ Holly said nervously.
‘Good luck!’ Lindsey and Ben said together. Holly walked out and they heard the call of…
‘GRYFFINDOR!’ Lindsey and Ben looked at each other, and jumped up and down, holding hands. They suddenly let go, and both went pink in the face. 'Aw, I hope we’re in Gryffindor!' Lindsey hoped.
‘Jenkins, Lindsey!’ Lindsey walked out and sat on the stool placing the… Hat? Hat!? HAT!? A hat that talks!? Ah, well, we are wizards! Lindsey thought as she placed the hat on her head. The hat… Spoke to her? Inside her head? ‘You’d do well in Ravenclaw! You have a great mind here!’ the hat whispered. Then it called out……….

cliffie, I am mad I want to find out what house she is going to be in, but great chapter anyways. Keep up the good work and post more soon :P

'GRYFFINDOR!' Lindsey gasped with relief and ran down to Holly. 'Holly! We're in the same House!' Lindsey said, happily.
'I know! I wonder if Ben will be too?' Holly asked. Soon enough they heard;
'Smith, Ben!' and Ben walked to the Sorting hat. He sat down and placed it on his head. Barely a second later, they heard; 'GRYFFINDOR!' and the whole Hall laughed, as Ben had tripped down the stairs in a hurry to get to his new House Table. 'Hey, guys!' Ben said, still blushing from embarassment.
'Hey, Ben!' the girls chorused back at him. Later on, after their hands were red from clapping so much, they heard; 'Wollock, Nivera!' and the girl from the boat, the one who hated Muggleborns, walked up looking casual. The Sorting Hat was placed on her head and it shouted 'SLYTHERIN!' Nivera walked to the Slytherin Table, looking gleeful, also shooting Lindsey a dirty look on her way. 'Why does she hate me?' Lindsey asked, her bottom lip quivering. She had only been at Hogwarts for about an hour, and already someone hated her.
'Well, I've got an idea, I'll tell you later...' Holly whispered in Lindsey's ear.
'I don't know!' Ben said, not hearing Holly whispering.
'It can't be because I'm a Muggleborn, can it?' Lindsey asked quietly. 'It's not going to make any difference is it?'
'No way!' Ben and Holly said at the same time.
Lindsey sighed with relief. She had been worrying about this for a while. After the last few were Sorted, Professor McGonagall stood up to speak.

Yup! Still. Stuck. My mum can't get it back, so basically I have to write it ALL over again! AND IT WAS REALLY GOOD AS WELL! Well, in my opinion! :eyebrows:

McGonagall cleared her throat and everyone shut up. 'Welcome back to Hogwarts! Unless you're a first year, welcome! We should have a peaceful year now that You-Know-Who is gone! But, this being Hogwarts, it probably won't!' Everyone laughed. 'Now, all students should remember that...' And she set off into a speech about rules and Filch's forbidden stuff. 'And that is all! Now, eat until you're full, then report to the Prefects!' McGonagall ended. The students gasped as the plated were soon filled with food. Lindsey grinned at Holly and Ben, and started to eat.

I'll be posting more later, I just need to type all of my 100 pages onto Word to make sure it's all spelt right and stuff! :D

Well, at least you threw us all a bone. Hury hurry!! I can't wait much longer!!! I'm the first to post as well. Yay, Me!! :)

And with that, the feast ended. They heard a shout overhead; 'First Year Gryffindors! Over here please!' Lindsey looked over to see an older boy calling for them. This boy had messy blond hair and a care-free attitude. But, this, most possibly, was put on. When he thought all the First Years were there he introduced himself. 'Right then, well, hi! My name's Dennis Creevey, and I'm a Fourth Year Gryffindor having to do this as both of the Prefects aren't here. Now, if you'll follow me, I'll help you to the Common Room! Now, off we go!' he said, projecting his voice. The First Years followed him, Lindsey, Holly and Ben at the front. 'What's wrong with him?' Lindsey asked Holly.
'I'm not sure!' Holly said, looking worried. They carried on walking until they got to the stairs. 'Wait, here...' Dennis told them. He stepped onto the staircases and they started moving. The First Years gasped. 'Are you OK, Dennis?' Lindsey shouted out.
'Of course, Miss...?'
'Jenkins, Lindsey Jenkins!' Lindsey shouted up.
'Well, Lindsey, all of the staircases-woah!-move!' Dennis called as the stairs moved back. 'You see?'
'Wow! Well, that's pretty cool!' Lindsey told him as the First Years ran up. Lindsey followed Dennis up. 'See, I don't know about any of this, I'm a Muggleborn...' Lindsey explained.
'Ah! What a coincidence, so am I!' Dennis grinned. Then his face fell. 'My brother was too...' Dennis said sadly.
'Was? What's wrong?' Lindsey asked, confused.
'My brother would have left Hogwarts by now... H-He died, you see. In the battle. He snuck back and fought.' Dennis looked away, no doubt in tears.
'Oh, Dennis, I'm so sorry!' Lindsey frowned, hugging Dennis, even though she had only just met him. It seemed like the right thing to do! 'He-He just didn't get t-to say goodbye!' Dennis sobbed.
'It's OK, it's OK...' Lindsey said, patting his back.
'Ew! Dennis is hugging some girl!' a First Year shouted. Dennis jumped back and wiped his eyes. 'DON'T BE MEAN!' Lindsey shouted as she felt her body heat up. Suddenly a statue by the boy set on fire.

oooh yay! finally more :) and oh Dennis, i like him already...PAMS

I'm the first again. What do I get this time?! hahahaha! OOOOOOH! His brother was Collin Creevey wasn't it?

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Jo wasn't first! :tongue: ^^ *gets a packet of Salt and Vinegar crisps!*

'Oh my goodness!' Dennis cried as he non-verbally put it out. 'Sorry, about that, Lindsey. I didn't mean to put my troubles onto you...' Dennis told her.
'No worries, Dennis, I like helping people!' Lindsey smiled.
'Alright... well, lets carry on now!' Dennis said, holding out his arm. 'C'mon! We need to catch up!' Dennis grinned. Lindsey took his arm and they ran up to the others. Well, he's very charming! Lindsey thought. Dennis left her with Lindsey and Ben at the front and carried on. 'You're getting on with Dennis, aren't you!' Holly smirked.
Lindsey blushed. 'Shut up!'
'Ooh! You like him!' Holly raised her eyebrows.
'I do not!' Lindsey protested.
'Dennis and Lindsey sitting in a tree k-i-s-s'
'You finish that sentence and you'll regret it!' Lindsey warned.
'i-n-g!' Holly laughed. Then her bag set on fire. 'EEP!' Holly shrieked as she jumped back. Dennis turned around.
'Again!? Right, the teachers will probably be annoyed I taught you this spell...' Dennis told them. 'This is what you do; Aguamenti!' Dennis said, whilst pointing his wand at Holly's bag. The fire went out. Holly looked inside the bag and groaned. 'My books are ruined!'
'I can fix that!' Dennis said cheerfully. He flicked his wand and the books were back to normal.
'Thanks!' Holly beamed.
'No problemo!' Dennis laughed. Suddenly a little man flew above them all cackling. 'PEEVES! Did you do all of this!?' Dennis yelled.
'Nope! Wish I couuuuld!' Peeves sang. 'Twas her!' Peeves cackled, pointing at Lindsey. Everyone turned to stare at her.
'Me!?' Lindsey gaped.
'Her!?' Dennis shouted.
'You!' Peeves cackled.

The corridor had gone quiet. 'But, I don't know any spells!' Lindsey shouted.
'Don't ask Peevsie!' Peeves sang. 'You looked at the bag, and it burst into flameeeees!' Peeves cackled. Holly looked at Lindsey with a confused face.
'No, she couldn't have. We really don't know any spells. And, Lindsey DEFINITELY wouldn't know any as she's a Muggleborn.' Holly concluded. Peeves cackled and threw some rubbers at her. Holly caught them easily and threw them back. Peeves cackled and flew off. 'Well, miss?' Dennis asked, breaking the silence that had fallen over them.
'Barker.' Holly told him.
'Well, Miss Barker, that was some excellent catches! You could be a Seeker! Next year of course!' Dennis smiled. Holly beamed then Dennis carried on. 'Well, that was Peeves! Be careful of him, he's the school's Poltergeist!' Dennis warned. Then as he started walking, he motioned for Lindsey to come to him. 'Me?' she mouthed. Dennis nodded. Lindsey walked casually forward, trying to make no-one notice her.'Yes?' she asked, confused.
'Was that really you?' Dennis asked, raising an eyebrow. Lindsey opened her mouth to speak, then closed it again. 'Well, if it was you, that means you set the statue on fire as well.' Dennis said.
'I don't know. When the statue set on fire, that boy was teasing you and it set on fire. With Holly's bag, she was teasing me.' Lindsey blushed. 'But, I didn't do anything. I didn't use a wand or say anything. It must have been a coincidence.' Lindsey concluded.
'Riiiiiiight...' Dennis said, not totally believing her.
'I promise! You can even ask Holly! I didn't even have my wand out!' Lindsey said angrily.
'Alright, I believe you, but I wonder how it did happen?' Dennis said.
'Maybe Peeves was lying? Maybe he did do it?' Lindsey suggested.
'Yeah, maybe...' Dennis smiled at her. Lindsey felt her ears go red at an attempt to keep a blush at bay.

'Right, this is the Fat Lady, but she isn't really fat!' he said the last part in a loud whisper so the Portrait would hear him. 'Ooh! Hello, Dennis!' the Fat Lady gushed.
'Hello, ma'am!' Dennis smiled.
'Why do we need to meet a Portrait?' Ben asked moodily. She exchanged a look with Holly as if to say 'What's his problem?
'Because,' the Fat Lady explained, 'I let you into the Common Room!'
'Yes, now, the password is Bubotuber Pus!' Dennis told them as the Portrait opened to reveal a hole. 'Woah!' Lindsey gasped. She tried to climb in, but was a little bit short...
'Need a hand?' Dennis laughed.
'Um. Yes, please.' Lindset grinned. Dennis helped her through then proceeded to help the others. Lindsey stood up. 'Wow!' Lindsey gasped.
'C'mon,Lindsey, move your bum!' she heard Holly yell.
'Oops!' Lindsey giggled as she moved forwards. The First Years all grouped in the middle.
'Right, boys dorms!' Dennis motioned to the left. 'Girls dorms!' Dennis motioned to the right. 'Now, boys. Don't try and get into the girls dorm...' Dennis said mischieviously.
'Why?' a boy shouted.
'Who wants to demonstrate?' Dennis smiled evily.
'I will!' Ben shouted as he stepped forward.
'Right, climb up the stairs!' Ben ran up the stairs, but on the sixth step, a loud noise was sounded and the stairs changed into a slide! Ben yelled as he fell down at Dennis's feet. 'You evil little...' Ben muttered as he got up.
'Maybe so, but now you know what'll happen! Scientific research!' Dennis laughed.
'What's scientific?' Holly asked.
'Don't worry, just a Muggle subject finding... well. I bid you all; goodnight!' Dennis bowed. The First Years clapped and ran up to their alloted dorms, chattering loudly.

'C'mon, Lindsey!' Holly urged her.
'I'll be there in a minute, save me a bed!' Lindsey shouted over the chatters. She walked up to Dennis, who was sat on a couch. She sat down beside him with her head rested on her knees. 'Dennis?' Lindsey said as he jumped.
'Goodness, Lindsey, you scared me!' Dennis laughed.
'Are you alright?'
'Not really, you?'
'Everyone thinks I'm a pyromaniac!' Lindsey rolled her eyes.
'I've just come back to Hogwarts for the first time since Colin died.' Dennis said quietly. 'Beat that...' he said as a tear ran down his cheek.
'It'll be OK, Dennis, it will!' Lindsey said softly.
'Go on, Lindsey, off to bed.' Dennis said. Feeling best not to argue, Lindsey hugged him and left.
'Where were you?' Holly glared at her.
'I was comforting Dennis, his brother died in the war.' Lindsey said, seeing if Holly would take up the challenge to argue back. She didn't.
'Oh. Lindsey, do you like Dennis?' Holly asked.
Lindsey sighed. 'Yes. I suppose I do.' Lindsey said, looking away. 'Now, you said at dinner you know why Nivera hates me. Why?' Lindsey asked, cocking her head to one side.
'Well, you know Ben likes you-'
'WHAT!?'
'I think Nivera likes him!' Holly said, ignoring Lindseys outburst.
'Ben likes me? Oh, crud, Holly! What do I do!?' Lindsey groaned.
'Umm... just don't lead him on?' Holly suggested. 'He shouldn't get hurt like that.'
'OK, will, or shall I say, won't do!' Lindsey smiled.
'Now, what about the fire thing?' a girl in the dorm asked. Lindsey and Holly jumped, remembering that they weren't alone. They looked at the girl and the girl beside her. They both had long black hair and green eyes. They were identical. 'Twins?' Holly mouthed.
'Sorry, I'm Kate and this is-' Kate began.
'Leyla! Nice t'meetcha! And-' Leyla continued.
'You two are?' they both finished.
'Hey, don't forget me!' A third girl piped up. She had shoulder length blonde hair and bright blue eyes. 'I'm Natalia, but call me that and I will curse you!' she laughed. 'Call me Nat or Tali!' Nat grinned.
'OK, so Kate, Leyla, Nat, Holly and Lindsey' Lindsey said as she pointed around at them all.

They all sat on the floor, in a circle. 'So, how did you set them on fire?' Kate asked.
'I really didn't! Peeves must've done it!' Lindsey laughed.
'And, what did we hear about you liking Dennis?' Leyla waggled her eyebrows. Lindsey blushed and said nothing.
'And what's this about Ben liking you?' Nat grinned. 'Dang, I need some tips, barely a day gone and you've got boys fawning over you!' Lindsey blushed at this sentence. The rest of the time, the girls spent talking about home and what they were looking forward to, and generally everything about themselves!
A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER
Over the next few weeks, no more incidents of firey things had happened, which meant the gossip about Lindsey faded eventually. All of the girls had become almost inseparable, the only time they were apart was when Lindsey was chatting with her new friend Dennis. They knew of her crush, so left so she could be alone. She did not appreciate this as it made it all the more obvious... As Lindsey woke up, she looked out of the window. It was quite a dull day with grey clouds everywhere. When she looked up all of the girls faces were an inch from hers. 'AH!' she shrieked, falling out of the bed.
'I'd say she's awake!' one of the twins grinned.
'How do we tell you two apart again?' Lindsey asked again.
'Well, Kate has a freckle on her nose, I don't.' the twin assumably Leyla told them.
'Ah.' Lindsey said as she looked at her watch. 'OMGODRIC!' She had picked up some expressions from the girls. 'We only have 5 minutes! Hurry!' Lindsey gasped as she saw they were all in their pajamas. The girls shrieked and quickly chucked any clothes on. 'Nat, your robes on inside out!' Kate pointed out as they were walking.
'Bum.' Nat mumbled as she took it off and rectified it. The girls ran down to the Great Hall, sat down, and started to eat. Whilst they were chatting, Lindsey looked up at the Staff Table. A teacher had gone stiff and her eyes blank...

'Guys! Look at Trelawney!' Lindsey whispered to them. Others in the Great Hall had noticed too and were passing it along. Soon everyone was staring at her. Then a voice unlike any other came out of Trelawney.
'Tonight... when the planets align!

Then Trelawney snapped back and coughed. Professor McGonagall stood up, shaking. ' Everybody out except First Years!' she shouted shakily. People looked reluctant to get out. 'NOW!' She barked. 'Vincent, take Sybil to Madame Pomfrey!' she ordered the Arithmancy teacher who nodded and helped Trelawney out. The four Head of Houses, Professor Sprout, Professor Flitwick, Professor Spinnet, the new Transfiguration teacher and Professor Binley. the new Potions Master lead the older years out. Professor McGonagall walked to the front. 'First Years, to the front!' McGonagall ordered. 'Right. I have been desciphering this Prophecy in my head and have come to a conclusion. One person from each House is going to be given the power to control one of the following elements: Water, fire, earth and air. W e don't know who it is or how the powers will be reve-' But she was cut off by a scream. A Hufflepuff girl that they had heard being Sorted first. She was sitting on a ball of air and the wind blew to the front and stopped beside McGonagall. 'Kate Anasi. You have been gifted with air!' a woman said softly, but loud enough for everyone to hear. The Hufflepuffs gasped before starting to cheer for the girl who looked surprised at the least! They were interrupted by a gasp from the Ravenclaw Table. A boy was standing on a wave of water looking terrified, but knowingly at the same time. The wave proceeded to the front of the room with the boy trying to keep his balance as he grinned. Probably never done THAT before! Lindsey thought. The boy was now on the wave, next to Kate Anasi. 'John River. You have been gifted with water!' a different woman called out.
'Holy Quaffle! These are the Founders speaking!' McGonagall gasped.
'So... that was Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw talking?' a girl asked.
'Yes!' McGonagall replied breathlessly. Lindsey looked over at the Slytherin Table as Nivera started to shake and was lifted up by a pillar of stone. The pillar proceeded to pass her to a new one which passed her along, like a slide. Eventually she got to the front, just when the pillars were starting to run out. 'Nivera Wollock. You have been gifted with earth!' a man said quietly, but forcefully. Lindsey looked at the girls and Ben, with her mouth hung open. 'Lindsey... I feel like I'm going to burn up...' Ben moaned. Lindsey realised what this meant and spoke up.
'Professor! I think Ben's the last, he says he's burning up!' Lindsey shouted.
'I'm afraid we have to wait. We don't know for sure yet- Miss Jenkins!' McGonagall said firmly as Lindsey gasped. Her body was on fire, as if fire was running through her veins instead of blood! She looked at her friends as she started to rise up. They were staring at her in shock. She looked down to see what was holding her up to find a Heliopath! She gasped as the girls cried 'Lindsey!' and Ben looked shocked. He had been sure it was him! 'That's a Heliopath!' Nat shouted. Lindsey looked at the horse like figure to see it was on fire! The Heliopath reared and galloped to the front, stopping next to McGonagall. 'Lindsey Jenkins. You have been gifted with fire!' a man boomed confidently.

HA! I WAS CROSSING MY FINGERS WHEN I SAID LINDSEY HADN'T DONE IT! :tongue:

OH MY GODRIC! I CAN CONTROL FIRE! Lindsey screamed in her head. The Great Hall went silent as the ball of air let Kate downand the wave John was on disappeared, dropping him on the floor. Nivera's pillar slowly descended, as she jumped off and Lindsey's Heliopath lowered down, letting Lindsey jump off before disappearing. The First Years watched on in awe. McGonagall turned to them. 'You four are to report to my office this evening at 8PM. The password is Kennilworthy.' McGonagall said breathlessly. 'First Years! Tell nobody. Only these four can decide who can know. They will decide, they may even tell the whole House if they want.' McGonagall barked as she walked out. The First Years were silent for about 5 minutes before they all got up and ran to their Common Rooms. 'Dennis told me about the Prophecy! Who has been chosen from Gryffindor?' the Fat Lady asked.
'Me.' Lindsey said quietly.
'Bubotuber Pus!' Holly said firmly, before the Fat Lady could reply. The Portrait swung open and they all climbed in. She saw Dennis and whispered to Holly;
'Meeting in the Girls Dorm in 10 minutes' Holly nodded and ran to tell the others. Lindsey walked over and sat next to him. 'Dennis?' Lindsey said quietly.
'Hey, Lindsey! What was all that about?' Dennis asked worriedly.
'We're not allowed to say who, but I am.' Lindsey said breathlessly. Dennis cocked his head to one side in confusion. 'One person from each House got gifted with an Element. Hufflepuff, air, Ravenclaw, water, Slytherin, earth and Gryffindor, fire...'
'What!?' Dennis exploded. 'Who's ours!?'
'First Years aren't allowed to say. Only the four chosen can...'
'Then why are you telling me?'
'Look Dennis!' Lindsey snapped. She was about to try something she hadn't done before, and needed to concentrate. She concentrated on her hands. She let the fire burn through her, hotter and hotter, getting closer and closer to her hands. But she didn't scream. It wasn't painful. She looked at her hand. A ball of fire was in it.

Fire ! fire ! fire !
*needs an extinguisher*

'What the-?' Dennis started.
'Isn't it obvious? It's me! I was chosen for Gryffindor! I can control fire!' Lindsey frowned. Dennis's eye's widened. Lindsey concentrated and put her hand out. Then she started to cry. 'Whaa?' Dennis exclaimed.
'I'm a ticking time bomb!' Lindsey exploded. 'Remember how I set the statue on fire? And Holly's bag? What if someone made me so mad I set THEM on fire? And killed them?' Lindsey sobbed.
'I'm sure you wouldn't... you couldn't! You wouldn't want to hurt anyone. You're too good of a person!' Dennis said softly.
'Bu-but what if-' Lindsey was cut off as Dennis pulled her into a hug. She leapt up. 'I have to go.' Lindsey burst as she ran away, leaving Dennis confused and hurt. She ran up to the Girls Dorm and took her place in the huddle. 'What's wrong?' Holly asked as she noticed the tear tracks down Lindsey's cheek.
'I-I left Dennis as he was hugging me!' Lindsey sobbed.
'Why?' Nat asked. Lindsey sighed. She had never told anyone else why she feared being touched by boys.
'I-I had a brother. He died when I was 9. He and I were REALLY close. He always used to hug me and comfort me, as my dad isn't much of a hugger. And then he died. He got cancer. And now I don't like boys touching me as it reminds me of him.' Lindsey sobbed.
'Oh my Godric, Lindsey-' Leyla began.
'Did you tell him?' Kate finished.
'N-No, I ran off!' Lindsey said as she tried to stop her crying.
'Go see him later.' Nat urged.
'I-I will...' Lindsey smiled waterly.
'Right. Now that's out of the way, WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?' Holly burst.
'I can control fire. Watch.' Lindsey said as she yet again felt the feeling of fire through her veins and her hand burst on fire. The others looked on in awe until she put it out.
'That-'
'Was-'
'Freaking-'
AMAZING!' the twins gasped.
'I wonder what McGonagall wants?' Nat pondered.
'Hmm... I don't know, maybe Lindsey can control fire, no wait, it can't be that, loads of witches and wizards can do that!' Holly said sarcastically.

I get a bit like that sometimes. If people come too close I mean. I get a pain in my stomach. Even pets! Stupid personal space bubble... *grumbles*

Wow you've been adding quite a lot. Yay! This is exciting! And oh my godric I think that I laughed for such a long time when she said that! :)
