Smoke started to seep into the Great Hall, long enough for everyone to be surprised, before it was everywhere, and all that everyone could see was the smoke.

It was not your ordinary smoke. Clearly it had been created. It was pink, purple, and, somehow, sparkly. It smelled of sweet scents like strawberries and roses, and other pleasant things.

It was strange.

Slowly but surely, it began to fade. It was still there, but it was light, now everyone could see, and that was something shocking, indeed.

Everything, everything was pink and purple. The walls, the tables, the plates, the windows, the decorations, even the night sky above them was tinted pink. Everything sparkled.

The only thing not affected was the students and teachers, and the food. Most of everyone just stared. Was this planned?

But the teachers had not the same reaction. No one knew what had happened, and they were confused, but looked at Dumbledore for a sign to do something.

All of the exchange students simply grinned, under the impression that this was on purpose. It looked so very cool, everything was so colourful.

Dumbledore looked pleasantly surprised, but he knew. He was not confused, bewildered, annoyed or in awe. Wise as he was, he knew what it was, and the cause. He had a feeling they were planning something, and quite enjoyed what the troublemakers came up with.

He was sure there was more to come, as he looked towards the doors of the Great Hall to see James Potter and Sirius Black standing there.

All the teachers seemed to comprehend, and most looked a bit annoyed and exasperated. It dawned on everyone else, too. It was them, who else would it be?

Dumbledore waved, with a small wink to the two boys.

“How nice that you could make an appearance, Mr. Potter, Mr. Black.” He smiled. “Do carry on.” He clasped his hands together, watching the boys.

Everyone watched the two boys.

Remus chuckled, amused. It was not as bad as it could’ve been, and it was actually quite amusing. Most people thought it funny but did not yet laugh; there was anticipation for what would come next. Nobody knew.

At the Slytherin table, everyone didn’t like it; mostly they looked annoyed, or glared. Regulus, however, cackled, gleeful. Everyone looked at him.

“What? This is Potter and Black.” Lucius said. He couldn’t understand what could make Regulus have this reaction.

“I know. I’ll have to tell mother this, she’ll send him a howler, for sure.” He laughed with the group of Slytherin’s around him. He couldn’t wait. Regulus just hoped that Sirius would do some more stupid things.

Hello, I'm, not a new reader. I've been following this story since the first day it came out. I haven't posted on it for various reasons, but I can't help it. I want to post on this.

EDIT: Eep! I just realized. This is the TWENTIETH UPDATE!! I love you guys. <3

I smirked, looking around at everyone who had their eyes on Prongs and me. This was so good. It was a way to make an entrance, in a fun way.

“Do carry on.” I grinned at Dumbledore’s words. By far, he was the best Headmaster.

“Thank you, thank you.” James said, looked at me, and we bowed to our audience.

“Welcome to all our guests,” I said, there was no spell, but everyone could here me. “If you need any help at all you can ask my friend here, James Potter, or myself, Sirius Black. Girls, you can just come see us anytime.” I chuckled.

“I hope that you enjoy our re-decoration, I rather like it myself.” I carried on, grinning. “James would like to say something about a certain Gryffindor, while we have you attention.”

“Lily Evans,” James said, smirking too. “You want go to the ball with me, and I want you to go to the ball with me, so you don’t not to deny yourself any longer.” He smirked. “So just come with me.”

I spotted Lily at the Gryffindor table, her cheeks going red, not out of embarrassment, though she was embarrassed, but of fury. She glared at James. He had to do this, in front of the whole school?

“Is that all?” Dumbledore asked us. He knew that James and I liked to make an entrance, and he was prepared for what we might come up with next.

“Another thing,” I said to the Headmaster. “She already knows it. She should, anyway, she’s smart.” I smirked. “But Adriana Taylor, I’m taking you to the ball.”

“That’s everything, Sir.” James saluted to Dumbledore. “Severus Snape really ought to have a shower though, y’know. Just saying.”

The hall went into laughter. Most of it, anyway. With satisfaction, I walked over to the Gryffindor table, and sat down beside Remus. James sat on my other side.

Lily was still mad, and she began to lecture James on how she’d never go to the ball with him and about what she’d do if he ever did anything like this again.

I turned from them and found, to my surprise, an annoyed looking Adriana standing beside where I sat. I couldn’t understand. She was not like Lily.

She loved the spotlight, attention and what I’d done was nothing that would bother her. Why was she annoyed at me, then? What had I done?

“Hello Adriana.” I said with a smooth smile. “Anything wrong?” I let my hair fall over my face, giving her a charming smile that usually always worked. Girls fell for it so easy and they went from mad to adoring me.

I loved my good looks.

Adriana was a persuasive one herself, however, and she didn’t change. “Yes, there is.”

If only my charm worked more effectively on Adriana. All it did was make me look handsome, and though that was good, it didn’t help her being annoyed.

“What did I do, then? It can’t have possibly been this?”

“No, not this. What you did is fine, you just should’ve done it sooner.” Adriana said, flicking her hair over her shoulder and looking at me.

Wha? Sooner? “What do you mean? So you’re happy that I said I was taking you but it wasn’t fast enough?” I didn’t know. Girls.

“Yes. There’s not that much time until the ball. I haven’t got a dress yet.” Adriana was looking at me with a frown because she hadn’t got a dress yet? What did I have to do with that?

“Why didn’t you get a dress already?” Jeez, there was heaps of time until the ball. “You’re going to go whether it’s with me or not.” I pointed out.

She rolled her eyes. “Come on. You can’t seriously think—?” Adry stopped, shaking her head at me for some apparent reason. “I can’t just do that. I need to have the dress to match my date. I couldn't get a dress if I decided I wanted to go with someone other than you because it'd have to be the right dress.”

Girls really are nuts.

I started laughing. This was really ridiculous. I’d thought Adriana quite like me, now I realised there was an exception. James had turned to listen to our conversation and he joined in with my laughter.

“Are you kidding? Do girls actually do that?” We started laughing again.

“Are you going with someone else, then?” I asked after finally calming down my laughter.

“No. You’re still escorting me.” Adriana gave me a gorgeous, innocent smile, before walking back to her seat.

I grinned. She was crazy, but so pretty.

“Ugh, what do you see in her?” That was the last thing I expected to hear, watching Adry walk off. It was KylieKylers. I laughed.

“We’re not dating or anything, but what every guy sees in her. She’s attractive, popular and good company.” I smirked at the disgusted look on her face.

“That’s so superficial.”

That. That made me laugh. “You say that’s superficial? Kylie, you say that all you want, but you’re dating a rich, snobby, pureblood who cares more about himself then anything. Everyone dates him for looks and his titles alone.” I said, because it was true. “At least I’m more charming, chivalrous, hot, and I’m not a completely idiot.”

Kyla gave me a death glare. I laughed, smirking at her. “You’ve nothing to say ‘cause it’s true.” I said. That did it. Before I could say or do anything else, I felt her hand on my cheek, and no, it wasn’t a caress like I was used to. She slapped me.

Ouch.

I carried on grinning, unfazed. I’d been slapped before, not by Kyla, but it just meant that I’d annoyed her so much.

“The truth hurt, Kylie?” I asked.

I was surprised. She didn’t storm off or give me a cold look. She actually looked quite cheerful. “Remind me to do that more often.” She said, sounding very much like she was enjoying herself. “See you later, Black.” With a grin, she stood up, and walked over to the Ravenclaw table.

Kyla was never happy when talking to me. She didn’t even seem to bother with me calling her Kylie. All it took was her slapping me.

Shrugging, I turned back to James.
