“Sirius,” James said, just as we were walking out of honeydukes.

“Yeah?” I asked, walking over towards the three broomsticks.

“What’s the deal with Kyla, anyway? Nobody sees why you don’t like her.” He said, looking at me curiously.

“What do you mean? I don’t know how you do like her.” I said, rolling my eyes. “She’s just so… Kyla.” I said. “She’s just so annoying, and bossy.” There were more things then that though. Kyla was, I frowned. I couldn’t think of a really good reason why I didn’t like her so much.

“That’s it?” James asked, raising his eyebrow.

“No way. She’s just, never mind.” I said, and James let it drop. Mainly he just wasn’t observant enough to think that anything was different. I was kind of glad that Remus wasn’t here, because I really couldn’t think of why.

It annoyed me.

I was kind of distracted me at first, but eventually I just pushed it to the back of my mind and I joked around with James for the rest of the time.

We were just about to leave, after we’d got everything.

“Wait a minute, I feel like we’ve forgotten something.” I said, looking at James. We had drinks, sweets, everything, but it felt like there was something missing.

“We are?” James asked, thinking for a moment. “I can’t think of anything.”

Then it clicked.

“Dress robes. We forgot to get them.” I said, and grinned at James.

“Oh yeah. I forgot.” He laughed. “We better get those or Remus will tell us off.” He joked.

Boys can be so clueless about love! When they've never been in love before, they can't see it when it's right in front of them! They don't know what the symptoms are, and they can't describe it. So adorable!

When we were back at the castle, with our dress robes and everything else, there was about an hour until the feast.

“Lets go drop this stuff off in the common room, and then go to the room of requirement.” I said, and James nodded.

“Asked anyone to go to the ball, yet?” I asked James as we walked. I doubted it, from how he was with Lily earlier on.

“No, but don’t worry. It’s not like it’s going to be hard to get a date.” James smirked.

“Whatever you say.” I said, wondering if he actually would. Because of Lily. “But you know – ”

“Sirius,” James cut me off, and I looked in the direction that he was. Down the end of the corridor, Professor Fournier strode down the corridor, towards us. We weren’t doing anything we weren’t supposed to, but he’d know that today, when we were supposed to be in his DADA, we were off skipping class.

As a new teacher, Professor Fournier wasn’t cruel. Just mean and really strict, just because we didn’t obey any rules. It really wasn't very fair, it wasn't our fault that we caused so much trouble.

We didn’t have time to run away now, though, so James cast an invisibility spell over all of the stuff that we had – we didn’t want him to confiscate it.

“Mr. Black and Mr. Potter.” The Professor said, striding over to us arrogantly. “Fancy seeing you here.” He smiled, like he was enjoying himself. He probably was. “I missed you in class today.”

I glanced at James, and Professor Fournier carried on talking in his mock nice tone. He wasn’t nice.

“How about you boys come to my office tomorrow, and we can have a nice little chat. Four o’clock sharp, don’t be late.” He said, it was like he delighted himself on just being mean. He turned away imperiously, thinking himself oh-so-important.

“What a git.” James muttered when he was gone. I nodded in agreement, and then laughed. We were used to getting detentions, anyway.

“C’mon, we’ve got a party to set up.” I said with a grin, and carried on going in the direction of the common room.


We got to the seventh floor corridor, and Adriana came out of the common room.

“Oh, hey!” I said, having an idea.

Adriana looked at James and me. “Yes?” She asked, running her long, slender fingers through her hair.

“There’s going to be a party in the room of requirement tonight, tell everyone.” I said, knowing that she would. She did that kind of thing, and anything that Adriana was going to, meant there would be lots of people.

Heaps of people would come anyway though, because I’m just so awesome.

“Sure,” she said, with a small smirk. “I’ll see you two there.” She said, and walked past us, her hair falling down her back.

Fast thinking. Nothing new, just detention. They take it in stride and doesn't bother them a bit. As long as they didn't get there goodies confiscated. I don't like people like that! I love how Sirius is so full of himself, but he is such a nice guy too. Probably why everyone loves him.

Phew! *sighs* That was a LOT of comments.

I walked out of the room of requirement with James, and he was grinning. Everything for the party was ready, and it was going to be so good.

“This is going to be even better then the end of term party last year.” He said, and I rolled my eyes at him.

“Of course it’s going to be better. Veela’s make everything better.” I said, implying this was completely obvious. Which it was. But James only gave a half-hearted smirk in reply.

I could guess what he might be thinking – Lily made everything better for him. But I was sure Lily would come, so at least James would be cheerful.

“C’mon, the feast will be starting now, and I’m starving.” I said, with a grin.

“Oh, well that’s unusual.” Remus walked up beside us, with a dry smile. “You’re never usually hungry, are you, Sirius?” I grinned at him.

“Hey Remus,” I said. “I thought you would’ve been down at the great hall by now.” I said, looking at him.

“Oh, I lost track of time in the library, I guess.” Remus said, with a small smile. But there seemed to be something off about his voice that I couldn’t place.

“Lets go, then.” I said, shrugging it off. It was probably just nothing.

We got to the hall quickly, though it was probably due to my grumbling stomach. But I was always hungry, so before dinner, I got particularly hungry.

We walked into the great hall and sat down where Peter already was.

“How was hogsmeade?” Remus asked James and me, adding food to his plate, whereas I piled my plate with food and took no hesitation in scarfing it down.

I swallowed my food and grinned at Remus. “We remembered our dress robes.” Sort of. “Aren’t you proud?” I asked, and he rolled his eyes. But this made me think of something.

For the ball, I was going with Adriana, James was fawning over Lily, and Peter was, well, Peter. But Remus? For a while, I hadn’t really thought about it, and he never said anything about it.

“Who are you planning on taking to the ball, Remus?” I asked him curiously.

“Oh,” Remus said, seeming surprised at the abruptness of this question. But before he could answer, the doors of the great hall opened, and we all turned to see who it was.

Melissa Hayden came into the hall, pulling what seemed to be a very hesitant Lily. Some people looked back at them, but it wasn’t such a big deal for someone to be late.

What did seem like a big deal was that Melissa was dragging Lily over to us, and I wondered why.

Because by Lily’s expression, she really didn’t want to be here.

“Hey guys,” Melissa said with a bright smile.

“Hey Mel,” James said, returning the smile to her. He loved that Lily was over here, even if it didn’t seem as if it was by her own will. “Can we help you?” He asked.

“Oh, yes. I just wanted to tell you in person, both of us will be coming to that party of yours.” She said, putting emphasis on both. James grinned. Usually I wasn’t one to notice specifics, but it seemed strange that they’d come here just for that.

Because for once I was paying attention, I noticed the very subtle wink that Melissa gave Remus, and I saw him smile.

There was a chance – no, actually, there wasn’t. There was no way I was just imagining things, something was going on that I didn’t know. Naturally, I wanted to know.

“Great,” James said.

Melissa smiled, and saying goodbye, she and Lily went down the table to find somewhere to sit. I turned to Remus.

“Clearly I’m missing something.” I said bluntly. I wasn’t going to beat around the bush.

Remus smiled. “I suppose you’re right.” He agreed.




Okay, so yes, I am evil. You're going to have to for another post to find out about Remus, unless you already know. I'm sorry, I just couldn't help it. xD And I know it's really short, but I'm going to post again really soon.

And for clarification, Melissa is one of the chasers on the Gryffindor team, and also a friend of Lily's.

Sorry about missing your last post. I don't know what happened. Anyway, great couple of posts. About everythings been commented on which is great cause it shows how much everyone loves everything about your story like me. I will say this though: Not much is said about Adriana, I'm glad he's taking her still, with all the girls flirting with him, it's a wonder he can keep his head screwed on right. How cute of him to notice. I bet he would have caught that though even if he hadn't been paying attention. And for Remus, I'm so happy! I hope he doesn't end up with a broken heart. I love how you write Sirius! He is so adorable! And then he opens up about it, and we get to find out the details? No we don't because it was the end of the post. Very true, very true. Yes, we probibly know, but it's fun reading it. Great posts, I enjoy reading your story so much! Keep up the great work!
