I only came up with the plot and any non-cannon characters. :) “James, honey, remember to write.” Mrs. Potter said with a motherly smile to her son. “And try to stay out of trouble.” “Of course he’ll stay out of trouble, Mrs. Potter.” I said, walking besides James with a mischievous, and completely unconvincing grin. “Hello, Sirius,” Mrs. Potter said with a warm smile. “Sirius!” James turned to grin at me. “C’mon, lets find Remus and Peter.” He said, already walking towards the Hogwarts Express without waiting for an answer. “Bye, boys.” Mr. Potter said. With a small chuckle, I followed suit, walking to the train. “Your hair gets messier every year, you know.” I said, smirking at James. “And you get stupider every year.” “At least I—” “James! Sirius!” Peter Petigrew got through the crowd of students and reached us. “Hey guys,” he said, an over excited look on his face. “Hey Wormtail,” I said, stepping onto the train. “Where’s Remus, do you think?” I asked, glancing at James. He shrugged, and I had the feeling his mind was somewhere else. “Perhaps he was made a prefect?” Peter suggested nervously. “Yeah, you’re probably right.” I said. “Knowing Remus.” I walked forward and opened the first empty compartment and we all sat down. “I wonder,” James said, with mock thoughtfulness. “Do you think they’ll let Snivellus back to Hogwarts this year?” He smirked. “If only. I think that’s a bit too much to wish for, it’d be like Christmas came early.” I sighed. “That’s true,” James agreed. “But Snivellus is so entertaining, it’d be a pity to not be able to pull more pranks on him this year.” He said, his expression turning mischievous. Time passed, while James and I discussed all the things that we could do to Snivellus, and any other victims, and Peter listened eagerly. “Oh, this is excellent.” James said, just as the compartment door slid open. “Plotting things already?” Remus asked with a small smile. “No, certainly not.” I said with a grin. Glancing up at Remus, I saw the shining Prefect badge pinned to his robes. “Prefect, eh?” I smirked, looking at James. “We better be careful, mate, Moony is a prefect now, we better be on our best behaviour.” I spoke with false seriousness. James laughed. “Yes, we’ll be in big trouble now.” Remus chuckled lightly, when there was yet another interruption of a good kind. The food trolley had arrived, and I jumped up. Between James and me, we got much more food than all four of us eat. Even so, it didn’t take long for us to eat nearly all of the sweets. “Hey, I bet you can’t eat this!” James said, throwing a Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour bean at me. It was murky grey and brown colour. I threw it in my mouth, and, instantly, my face screwed up. It was more disgusting than anything I could imagine. It was like vomit and... Something I didn’t even want to think about. After swallowing, with much difficulty, I picked up a chocolate frog, and threw it at James. After which he threw a liquorice wand at me, which missed and hit Remus. Pretty soon it broke into a food fight between everyone, even Remus. There was stuff everywhere. Literally. The compartment was a mess. |

“What’s going on?!” Lily Evans walked into the compartment with a stern look. She took one glance at James, and shook her head. “Look at you! You’re a mess.” She stated crossly, at which I burst out laughing, along with James and Peter. “Look who’s Prefect,” I said. “Hey Evans.” James smirked at the fiery redhead who was even more annoyed at this point. “Come to join us?” he said, ruffling his hair. “Of course I haven’t.” Lily snapped. “Just clean up this mess, and get changed, quickly.” She said, turning away from us, and walking out of the room. “Someone’s bossy.” I grinned. Taking Lily’s advice, Remus cleaned up the mess, and Peter ate the remaining sweets, while James and me went off to get changed into our robes. It was exciting that it wasn’t long until we’d be at Hogwarts. As I walked with James down the corridor, back to our compartment, we stopped abruptly, seeing Severus Snape in front of us. I sniffed the air and looked at James, acting like Snape wasn’t even there. “Hey, James.” I said. “Can you smell something? I thought they didn’t let animals on the train?” “They don’t.” James concluded. “That’s just Snivellus. But what’s the difference, really?” Snape glared at us. “You two watch it, you can’t go crying to mummy, now, Potter.” He sneered. “Oh, did you hear that, Sirius?” James asked. “Snivellus is threatening us. Whatever shall we do?” He asked, smirking. “Perhaps we should get a girl to fight our battles for us. That’s what Snivellus does.” I laughed. Snape looked murderous, he’d reached the end of his temper. He pulled out his wand, but James was too quick. “Expelliarmus!” James looked triumphant as we turned from Snape and walked back to our compartment. The train had stopped, and when we walked in to grab our luggage, Peter and Remus had already left. We'd get him more later for... Breathing our air. |

I knew that the entire time that it was Remus, I just put Snape because I felt like it. :whistle: 2 updates already?!? -gaspeth- xD 2nd update;; I love the whole food fight thing! My dad bought me some actual jelly beans from the harry potter movies and I tried the vomit one. It was nasty!! I was still laughing with James about Snape when we found Remus and Peter and got into a carriage. After retelling the story to Peter and Remus, the former laughed along with us. Remus sighed lightly, not completely agreeing with the treatment we gave Snape. That didn’t dampen my spirits however, nor did I hesitate on deciding with James that we had to get Snape back. What exactly he had done in the first place I'd forgotten already, but that didn't matter. The bumpy ride in the carriage to the castle was a short one, and before long we’d stopped. “We’re back,” Remus said, his features lighting up. I realized, only now, that he seemed more tired than the last time I’d seen him, and being back at Hogwarts gave him a lot of pleasure. I was first to get out of the carriage, and while I waited for the others, I glanced around. Other carriages were arriving, and people getting out. The first of which that I recognized, were three girls in my year. Catching my gaze, they burst into a fit of giggles and began whispering to each other quickly. I just have that affect on a lot of girls. I am extremely handsome, though. The others had climbed out of the carriage, and I smirked at James smugly. "Clearly girls like me more." I said, this was an argument, a silly one at that, James and I frequently had. But I knew it wasn't girls he wanted to impress, but just one. Lily Evans. I started to head for the steps to the castle. "Yeah, whatever." James said, rolling his eyes. "That's only--" “Did you hear?” Remus asked thoughtfully. “I hear we have a new DADA teacher.” He intervened, knowing all too well that it would distract the both of us. “Really? Professor Fisher left?” I asked, surprised. “He was a cool teacher.” I said, particularly liking the class. “Hope there’s a good replacement.” “Yeah, that’s one of the best classes.” James said with a nod. "We'll find out soon." |

In the Great Hall, I sat down at the Gryffindor table, not paying attention to who I sat beside, unfortunately. “Hello dog breath.” Kyla Saunders said coolly. “Oh, look what the cat brought in,” giving Kyla a sarcastic look, I glanced at James, who I could see looked amused. He thought it funny, he did, that she would call me dog breath, of all things. Kyla looked at me with a smile full of falseness. “Hey,” she said, mock thoughtful. “Are those wrinkles?” She smirked, looking at Sirius. “Not to worry, it isn’t going to make much of a difference to your appearance, you’ve always been ugly.” “What about you? A few grey hairs there, Kylie.” A moment of shock passed over her features, I was surprised, and Kyla pulled out a mirror and looked in it quickly. Seeing all of her blonde hair in tact, she scowled at me. “KY-LA.” She said, sounding out her name slowly. “Never call me Kylie, never, Black.” Kyla said coldly. “Not a problem, Kylie. Do you really carry the mirror around with you everywhere?” I laughed. Girls. “You know, Sirius.” James said with a grin. “I hate to break up the... Lovely discussion.” He smirked. Kyla was looking furious. “But the feast has started.” “It has?” I looked at the table, and James was right. The feast had started, and I hadn’t even noticed. Shrugging, I started to pile food onto my plate, delicious as ever. “Sirius,” James said. “I think that maybe Lily and Kyla should join a club – The hating Potter and Black club.” We both laughed. It was true; they both got exceedingly mad at us, all the time. “Yeah, but Kyla is too self-centred and arrogant, Lily wouldn’t like her.” “Oh, and you’re not?” Kyla demanded. “Well, it’s nothing to do with me that I’m just ridiculously good looking.” I smirked at her, just waiting for a reaction. James and Peter, I now saw, were watching on the edge of laughter. Remus seemed to want to be responsible, as he thought he should be, but couldn’t help feeling amused. “Black, you sicken me.” I grinned delightedly. “Excellent.” I said to Kyla. I raised my head and looked at the staff table properly for the first time. “Hey, look.” I nudged James. |
