Just as Justin came to Prof. Snape's office door flew open. Sitting behind his desk was Prof. Snape. He was rifling through mountians of paperwork trying to get the last homework assignments graded. Without even looking up Snape welcomed Justin in a way only he could, " You , Mr. Wellheart , are late. Do you have a problem reading your watch ? Perhaps you need a new one.Enough of that . that's not why I have asked you to join me. In fact , I didn't even think this conversation was necessary , but I was asked to do so by the Headmaster. You see , you've been given a gift that every witch and wizard wishes they could possess. So few of us in our world are able to hone our skills and powers remotely close to your abilities. Justin , if the wrong person were to find out that a weak little first year student had your abilities it would , without a doubt , be the end of that student. Do you understand?! "

" Professor , everything has begun to happen so fast. I try to control my feelings like Prof. Dumbledore told me , but it's so hard. I don't know if I can keep doing it . It's like there's this strange feeling and I have a hard time shaking that feeling. This morning there was two olders boys... "

" I know , Justin , I was watching you this morning and saw eveything. You did rather well controling your reaction to what they did. But I do have a question. When you were picking up yor things did your hand begin to hurt at all? "

" H-how did you know that , Professor ? "asked a wide-eyed Justin " And it was a strange burning tingling feeling really. Actually , It's a bit annoying. "

ooh...what's going to happen next?!

" Just know , Justin, that the other professors and I are watching out for you. For the time being you will be attending extra lessons every day With either myself or Prof. Queral. Is that understood ? You will be notified of time and place by special message each morning in your house common room. You must wait for all the other students in your house to leave as the message will not arrive before all others are gone. Do you understand these instuctions?"

" Yes, Professor I understand. When are the lessons to begin? "

" I would like you to meet me during your study hall period today. We will be working mostly on your controlling your emotions. Each lesson will only last an hour or two. That way there are no excuses as to why your other subjects are neglected. All of your teachers know what is going on but none of them will except any slip in your performance in their classrooms. "

And with that the meeting was over and Justin began to make his way to his first class of day.

Justin was waiting for all of the other students to clear out of the common room. He sat in front of the fireplace as it was a bit chilly this morning. And why shouldn't it be cold it was , after all , mid November. After having to wait twenty minutes or so , finally the room was empty and every on else had gone to the great hall for breakfast. Just as he was about to lose hope that the letter wasn't going to come, the letter appeared before his eyes.



Justin,

You are required to report to Professor Snapes office today. You are to be no later than ten thirtythis morning. you need nothing except your wand. Tell no one of this appointment. We will know if you speak to anyone about this arrangement.


Justin became a bit nervous as he read the last sentence of the letter. ' Could there be someone who is following me? Besides, who would I even tell? ', he thought to himself. As he walked out of the common room he began to look behind him. Now the poor boy was becoming paranoid. Just as Justin had begun to lose his mind he heard a familiar voice calling to him.

" Hey, Just, what's taken you so long. I've been saving you a seat !" Called out Josh.


' Yeah, I thought I forgot my Potions Kit. So, I went back for it , only to find it here in my stupid bag." answered Justin. He didn't like having to lie to his friends, but he didn't want to get into worse trouble.

Poor Justin, having to lie. The note was pretty secrative...

With that said Justin sat down and began to load his plate with a handful of bacon , a generous helping of scrambled eggs, two slices of toast and some hash. While he did that Bertie was nice enough to pour him a glass of pumpkin juice.

" Are you a bit hungry, Justin? " joked Bertie.

" Actually, I am. I am a growing boy after all. Besides, not all of us eat like a bird." Justin said with a half smile on his face.

Bertie's face turned a bright shade of red when Justin said that. Truth be told , she had a huge crush on him. she would always catch herself thinking about him. It didn't matter if she was in one of her classes, in bed or sitting right across the table from him. she would imagine herself and Justin being together at a dance or out to dinner.She even imagined that they would one day be married. Bertie had gotten caught up in her daydream when she realized that Josh and Justin were asking her if she was going to meet them for lunch. " Yeah, you both know I'll be here, as always. "

" You seem mad at me ,Bertie. I was only joking. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings if I did." Justin said sheepishly.

" No, you didn't. I was just thinking about that essay that we have to get done for Defense Against the Dark Arts. it's due tomorrow. I haven't even started yet. I don't think Prof. Querrel likes me very much. He's always giving me nasty looks. something doesn't seem right with him."

PROFESSOR QUIRRELL!? Why doesn't he like Bertie?

Welcome new reader! Pams is an acronym for Please Add More Soon. It took me a while to riddle it out myself, a couple of weeks actually.

So a PAMS from me too!

It was 9:30 in the morning and Justin had just met up with Bertie and they were on their way to their Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Bertie was already starting to complain about Prof. Quirrell.

" I just don't know why Prof. Quirrell is so irratated with me all the time. I do all my homework. I don't misbehave in class. I just try to be invisible in his class so he won't pick on me. And it never works. I can't figure out what his problem is with me." complained Brtie as the two of them walked into the classroom.

" I don't know either, Bertie." Justin said sympathetically. " Maybe you're too quiet in his class. You barely get evolved with the class discussions along with the rest of us.Maybe you should start to speak up a bit more."

They find their seats and sit down.

" Well, I'll try that today, but I have a bad feeling about this. " Bertie whispered as Quirrell stepped out of his office.

Prof. Quirrell had seen Bertie talking to Justin and immediately singled her out.

" Well, Miss. Thornhurst, I see that you and Mr. Wellheart are getting rather cozy over at your desk. Would you two like for all of us to leave the room so that you can have some PRIVACY ?! "

Both Bertie and Justin were completely mortified. Bertie just got up a flew out the door sobbing and Justin just gave Quirrell a look that could kill.Actually, the look almost did. The moment that Justin looked up at his teacher Quirrell let out a bloob-curddling scream and fell to the floor in a heap. Everyone in the class looked at Justin in shock. No one would ever dare to attack a teacher. The punishment for such an attack was expulsion, everyone knew that.

" What have you done ? " asked Benny.

" I don't know ... I didn't do anything. You guys saw...I didn't do anything ! " exclaimed Justin

All the kids in the class crowded around their fallen teacher and were looking down on him when Prof. McGonagall arrived to see what all the commotion was about.
