Default Dueling Arena Log Book

To the bottom of the raised platforms used for dueling in the Arena, and standing proudly between two of the benches is a handsome light silvery-blue pedestal. Patterns of various dark creatures decorate it; one doesn't need to look closely to see that these creatures are constantly moving around. You never know where they’ll appear next: at the base or at the flat top. Speaking of the top… it holds a rather thick tome in addition to an inkwell of black ink and a luxurious Eagle feather quill. This thick volume will be used for documentation by students.

Have you ever wanted to earn extra house points for practicing your defensive and offensive skills out of the DADA classroom? Now you certainly can! Here’s how:

Have a practice duel in the arena with your choice of partner. Having trouble finding a partner? No need to worry. Based on their availability, a professor will snag you. Healer Feirgrund is always on standby should there be any injuries.

Once the duel is over, note down the below information into a single post in this thread:
  • Names and Houses of duelers involved.
  • Usernames of duelers involved.
  • The outcome of the duel who won the duel and what spell was used for victory}.
  • Number of the post that started and ended your duel {these are located on the right hand corner of your posts, next to the word ‘permalink’.

What to Keep in Mind:
  1. It is your responsibility to log your duel. If you do not enter the results into this thread, I will assume your duel was for fun and you will not be awarded points. Please include all of the information into the log book thread as required or you may not earn the points you've worked so hard on.
  2. Duels in the dueling arena thread will be read thoroughly by myself, so please do not enter information into the log book hoping to receive house points unless the duel actually took place. Doing so may actually result in you losing house points.
  3. Each student {both winner and loser} will be awarded up to 10 points per duel logged. This depends on the quality and number of posts. The system, of course, differs if a Professor is the opponent; in which case, the student alone will receive 10 points.
  4. Duels against the same opponent more than once are not allowed.
  5. Logging of results are to be done until after the duel is completed.
  6. Only record one log per duel.
  7. This is not a lesson and these duels are only meant to improve your character{s} skills and reflexes. As such, you may have both characters participate in duels either simultaneously or wait until your initial chosen character’s duel wraps up. Your characters not duel against each other.
  8. Kindly specify if your character will be dueling a specific individual in the title of your first post. Failure to do so will result in a Professor snagging the post.
  9. You may refer to this list for spells as a guide for your character’s skill level.
  10. Be creative but not to go overboard so that it results in maiming, grave injury or death to other characters.
  11. Have fun!
