It is definitely very different to have a Divination class not in the brightly lit Divination tower and not in the afternoon, but this class is very different than the classes you have had this term with Professor Kitridge, yes, this class is set in the spirit room and after dinner for a reason.
As you make your way into the room you will notice that the only light is coming from candles that have been placed around the room and the faint smell of spices comes and goes with the flicker of those candles. The room is empty for the most part, except for a large round table in the center with enough chairs for all the students. Professor Kitridge is seated in a chair already wearing darker than normal robes. A floating board behind her instructs students to keep voices at a very low whisper and to find a seat. It also states to place all items at ones feet and not to put anything on the table this evening.

Ohhhh, this was different. Divination class had a really interesting vibe today. As Naya entered the room, it seemed very.........spiritual? Well it was the Spirit Room after all. Were they going to be making contacts today? “Hello Professor Kitridge”, Naya said, with a curious look on her face.
Naya was first to arrive, so she had her choice of seats. She randomly chose one and seeing the floating notice, put her bag on the floor. Then she sat down and took a moment to really check out the room. It seemed spooky like a room that a spirit might like to visit. At least that’s always how it looked in the muggle movies, right before the ghosts appeared.

Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Fiona quietly entered the spirit room and whispered, "Good evening, Professor Kitridge." Upon seeing the notice that was floating mid-air, Fiona made her way to the round table and carefully sat down, placing her belongings at her feet. She placed her hands on her lap, waiting for more students to arrive.

The Spirit Room?
Claudine wondered why they were using that particular room today and why the time was different from the other Divination lessons. "Good evening, professor." She offered a small smile to the woman before surveying the setting of the room. Great. She'd be sitting right next to others. The girl took up a spot away from Naya, because obviously Cole was going to sit right next to his girlfriend.
Claudine made herself comfortable next to Fiona {who also got a small smile}, belongings close to her on the ground. The scent of spices and the light from the candles making her a tad sleepy.
Cole was in a good mood as he entered the spirit room after dinner. This setting and scents made him think of his auntie. He would have write and tell auntie laurel all about this lesson later. Maybe they'd get to see an actual spirit and he didn't mean one of the house ghosts. Quietly he went over to the round table in the middle flashing Professor Kitridge a big smile. "Good evening Professor Kitridge!" He shot Claudine a curious glance before he went over to take one of the empty seats next to Naya whispering. "Hi Naya,". Setting his backpack on the floor, Cole made himself comfortable in his chair, as he waited for class to start.

Divination. Not a class that she was too fond of, but a class that was relatively easy.
The classroom was kind of close enough to the Gryffindor common room, too, so she never had to rush to get there. And stairs. There weren't that many stairs she had to walk..
Unless the class wasn't being held in the actual classroom. Flora was out of breath when she FINALLY made it to the spirit room, because she hadn't known that the class wasn't going to be held in the actual classroom until she made it to the actual classroom and saw that class was going to be held in the spirit room! Woo. It was a good thing Professor Kitridge wanted them to be quiet. She didn't think she would be able to talk in anything but a whisper anyway.
"Hello, Professor." She sprawled herself into the closest unoccupied seat and placed her stuff under the chair. "I'm glad to finally see what the Slytherin common room looks like."
Bwaha. She wasn't too out of breath to laugh at her own joke, though.

The subject she actually enjoyed. K was all smiles, not even perturbed by the timing of the class after dinner? The horror as she made her way towards the spirit room. Reaching the doorway, she peeked inside and gave a soft "oooh" because the mood of the room was very seance-y feeling. She was already quite curious as to what the Professor would have them up to today.
Stepping into the room, she read the floating board before nodding her head in understanding, not to anyone in particular but just because she was odd. She offered a smile to Professor Kitridge, and whispered, "Hello Professor" before making her way to the table and finding herself a seat away from the other students already arrived. She was terrible with names and did not want to embarrass herself by having forgotten all of theirs from previous classes. Oops.
Jina glanced around as she entered the spirit room for Divination class. The candlelight and smell of spices gave off a very Divination-y vibe. She liked it! Though she wasn't the best at the subject - she just didn't get it. For once she was not upset about being bad at a class, because she was not planning to study this field in great depth, so she enjoyed the lessons and tried her best without feeling stressed. Divination was definitely very different from the other classes that she spent much time and effort studying, which made it more interesting.
"Good evening, Professor," she greeted softly after reading the instructions on the floating board. She then took a seat around the large table and placed her bag down at her feet.
It was already a little bit strange that they were having Divination class at such a late hour, not to mention the fact that it was being held in the Spirit Room. And even weirder was the fact that Professor Kitridge wasn't wearing a set of bright pink robes. Avalon made her way into the classroom quietly, squinting a bit as her eyes adjusted to the low light. She tried not to wrinkle her nose at the pungent smell of spices. Would the ghosts be joining them for this lesson?
"Hi, Professor Kitridge," she whispered with a smile as she slid into a seat next to Kimmie. "Hey Kimmie." She offered the Hufflepuff a wave. She wanted to ask her friend about how her week had been going, but the board said to only whisper, so she figured she shouldn't be having full-out conversations. She'd just have to catch up with Kimmie later on. The Ravenclaw slipped her belongings under her desk and waited for class to begin.
Since her FAVORITE class was talking place after dinner today, she was sleepy, full, and a little yawn-y as she entered the darkened Spirit Room. The anticipation of it taking place in the Spirit Room was ENORMOUS. She was excited. Like, would they be summoning DEAD PEOPLE? EEEEEEEE.
Aboli smiled at Professor Kitridge as she entered. "Evening, Professor. Having a lesson this late always throws my schedule off!" but she was chuckling as she said it. She didn't mind! A change ever so often was welcome. She eyed the girl saying NOW she knew what the Slytherin common room looked like, because PFFFT. It did NOT look like this, thank you. "Are we summoning dead people today?" she asked as she had a seat. It looked like the setup of a sEANCE. She had a seat and did her best to not feel sleepy. She very well couldn't sleep through such an important subject!
The lull of the twinkling candlelight was just...so....relaxing.

Divination wasn't exactly Isla's cup of tea. No pun intended. As a matter of fact, it was among one of her top three least favorite subjects. She always gave it a try, though. At least she had two things going for her. One, she was freshly full from dinner, and two, it wasn't bright and early in the morning. She could handle this. Maybe.
Although she'd never admit this out loud, she was a little spooked. Spirit room...candles...all this flickering. She might have purposely took the seat right next to the professor. The floating sign made its way around, so instead of greeting the professor out loud, Isla just have her a smile and a nod.
Divination ... this class and Blake didn't always see eye to eye .. mainly because he never ... and I repeat the word NEVER could seem to get the hang of it. He felt like 100% of he work he did here was based off of guess work. But ... none the less he showed up with a smile on his face ready to learn, even if he didn't understand anything the professor was saying.....
"Hello Professor." Blake said and then gave a massive yawn. "Excuse me.... sorry about that." Jeez ... that was embarrassing.

Islay would have normally tried to sneak a pair of sunglasses into divinations with her for the sheer brightness of the divinations tower...but today, that wasn’t necessary. It was night, and they were in the spirit room. There was a part of the Gryffindor that felt like they were intruding as she made her way into the room. Her eyes scanned over the floating board and its instructions and over the flickering candles.
The former Beauxbaton student smiled at the Professor as she made her way to the table and stopping near Kimmie and Avalon. “hello Professor Kitridge,” Islay smiled as she turned her smile over to Kimmie and Avalon before sitting next to Avalon. “hi” she smiled softly. Her eyes quickly darted toward Aboli when she asked about summoning’s and she couldn’t help but grin, her excitement was infectious.
To her, it seemed like they were going to have a séance...she just, she...well, she hoped that the class wasn’t going to do something weird after everything she had heard had gone on in the great hall with the crowd of flickering people.

Tom was totally looking forwards to another divination lesson, he had no idea how much fun the subject could be. “hello, Professor, hope you are well.” Tom whispered and then went over and found a seat, so what were they going to do here. Surely they were going to try and talk to King Arthur and the knights of the round table? or maybe they were actually going to be them.

Bwaha. She wasn't too out of breath to laugh at her own joke, though.
Bernie had, incidentally, done the exact same thing as Flora. Gryffindors, am I right?
Wheezing a little, because she'd convinced herself she was going to be late to ONE OF THE WILDEST CLASSES EVER, Bernie trailed after Flora into Divination and let out a YUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuGGgggegggggggggeeee wheeze laugh at the first year's joke.
"Good one," the third year wheeze-whispered as she sat down beside her housemate. As she caught her breath, Bernie ALSO threw LOOKS to the Slytherins (read: Claudine) that she DIDN'T like. HA HA they had a stuffy dumb haunted common room! HA HA!
Of course, she DID like Aboli and Blake and other Slytherin people, so. That House wasn't ALL bad.
And oh, "Hiiiiiiiiiii Professor Kitridge," Bernie greeted the NORMALLY BUBBLY professor with a wiggly finger wave. She was being, like, serious today???!? Bernie put her things at her feet as she read the board then nodded seriously too. Bernie could SO play the quiet game. Probably. Probably wouldn't win, but she could play.

The lessons that they had had this year with Professor Kitridge had certainly felt different and yet, he still wasn’t really enjoying them. They weren’t bad lessons. Divination simply just wasn’t for this particular prefect but he wasn’t exactly going to shout about it in the class. No. He was respectful as always when he walked into the spirit room today after a hearty lunch.
Stopping as he walked in to allow his eyes to adjust to the faint glow of the candles, he took in the scene in front of his slowly, his eyes moving first to the Professor who was seated in her chair with her dark ropes (ominous), before finally moving to the students who had already arrived who were all sitting around the vast, circular table in the middle of the room.
Rather than shouting a good morning to the Professor, the prefect simply walked over to the round table and found a seat quietly next to Jina. ”Hey Jina” he whispered politely to his fellow seventh year.
He was about to pull out his parchment and quill when the smell of the room finally hit him properly. Sniffing now, he tried his best to pick out exactly what that smell reminded him of. Did he look like he was sniffing Jina? He hoped to god not. How weird would that look? But, where was that smell coming from? The candles maybe? Must be. In an attempt to avoid looking like a right freak, he quickly whispered to the Ravenclaw girl "Don't suppose you know what that smell is do you?"

Valencia entered not sure what to expect. The vibe was very... intense. She was curious what they were doing. She took a couple seconds to adjust to the lighting. "Good evening, Professor." she greeted before taking an empty seat.

Heath had to admit the odd time and place for tonight’s lesson had his curiosity piqued. Were they studying ghosts? That was the only reason he could think of for a lesson in the spirit room. He blinked, peering around the room as his eyes adjusted to the candlelight. Wow, this setup was a far cry from the usual brightness of the divination classroom… not that that was a bad thing. Dark and quiet was just fine with him! In fact, could they have all of their lessons down here? Please?
Heath nodded politely toward Professor Kitridge, smiling slightly. “Hello, Professor,” he greeted, taking care to keep his voice at a low whisper… not that it was hard or anything. He never talked loudly anyway, unless he was acting. He made his way to the nearest empty seat and set his bag gently on the floor beside his chair, as per the floating board’s instructions. Now he was even more curious than ever! If they weren’t supposed to put their stuff on the table, how was it going to be used?

Carsyn had to admit that one of the main reasons for her continued attendance in Divination classes was the professor. She had to be the brightest ray of sunshine on Hogwarts Staff where even if Carsyn didn't fully understand the uses of the subject and completely lacked the seeing eye, it was Professor Kitridge's radiation that made it worthwhile.
Only, upon entering the spirit room, Carsyn frowned to find it much darker than the normal classroom and Kitridge without her normal energy? Finding an empty seat, she whispered a greeting to the professor, followed by a concerned look of "are you okay, Professor?"

Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Fiona gave Claudine a warm, friendly smile as her fellow Slytherin third-year sat down next to her. Then her face darkened when Flora and Bernie entered the spirit room. At Flora's lame joke, Fiona looked at Claudine and rolled her eyes. When Bernie reacted to the joke, Fiona's eyes flashed dangerously as if silently warning the two lionesses to keep their rude remarks to themselves. Involuntarily, her hand clenched itself into a tight fist for a brief moment.

Yeah, yeah. Flora SAW all the looks she was getting from the Slytherins, but the classroom wasn't too bright so she was just going to PRETEND that she didn't see ANY of them. It was only a JOKE, and it wasn't HER fault they couldn't take it.
She was still laughing to herself, because c'mon, guys, it really was funny, when Bernie sat down beside her. Laughing. And even telling her it was a good joke!
See! She was funny! And since she had been able to make an older, much WISER housemate actually laugh, she figured it was okay to keep going. Flora leaned in a little closer to Bernie, but was definitely looking at Fiona this time. Heh. "Nah. Can't be the Slytherin common room. It smells too nice in here."

And while Flora was looking to Fiona, Bernie's sharp blue eyes were definitely resting on Claudine.
"AHAAHAHAAHA!" the third year let out another CLEARLY delighted LAUGH at Slytherin's expense, then hastily covered her mouth with her hand. Ooops, was that too loud? She had a good response though, and added, "And too many happy faces to be their common room." She, for one, was a happy face.

As dark and serious as Cassie tried to make the room there was always something about seeing students come into your class.
As the Ravenclaw Prefect joined them Cassie stood from her chair to allow her legs to stretch and her focus to resume for the lesson, small snaps were given as she greeted him, "good evening Ewan, don't worry I will get to the smell during the lesson."

"Hello Heath, I'm glad you are here." she gave snaps to welcome him as well.

Only, upon entering the spirit room, Carsyn frowned to find it much darker than the normal classroom and Kitridge without her normal energy? Finding an empty seat, she whispered a greeting to the professor, followed by a concerned look of "are you okay, Professor?"
"I am terrific Carsyn, I hope you are too." The prefect got smiles and snaps as well.
Just as she was going to get started she heard Flora and then Bernadette again. "Girls if you don't stop I will have to take points and I really would rather not start off that way. You know once you walk into my classroom, no matter where it is there is only positive vibes allowed." She was not going to have negativity effect the outcome of the lesson this evening.
As she turned and looked at the class she stopped for a moment and looked around, a confused look on her face. A look of why was it so dark in this room. "Now... wait, what was I saying?" She definitely wasn't sure after all the snaps and the distractions. Seeing the floating board and the basket she had in the corner of the room something finally triggered, "Oh yes, Divination Lesson." She gave a giggle and a snap. "I hope you are not too mixed up from the change in time and place for our lesson, but this lesson works the best in the evening.
"Now there are many different forms of Divination and many forms that use the same items. Many forms use scent, feel, and other objects to help us learn about the past and even see into the future. During our time together so for this year we have discussed a few forms and in your readings you have read about other types." She quietly walked around the room, her voice always at just a whisper. No point in interrupting any spirits that could be lurking in the room.
"My question for you this evening is what form of Divination could we be using and what purpose does this evenings set up play in this evenings lesson?"
Class has now started, if you haven't joined yet please come right in. Remember Cassie will punish IC late arrivals so if you want to have your character be here all along that is fine We will move on in around 24 hours.

Ooooohehehehe someone didn't like jokes at the Snakies' expense. Maybe Professor Kitridge was a former Slytherin; Bernie didn't know. But she did nod, BIG NOD, at the Divination professor. Okay okay okay being quiet now.....
.....for all of five seconds! HA!
Bernie let out a confused giggle, albeit a quiet one, when the bubbly professor seemed to suddenly drift off into space. "Did she get possessed?" she whispered to Flora before the lady continued. HEHE, GEDDIT? Because they were in the spirit room? And the professor like a medium? Never mind that if a possession ACTUALLY happened, Bernie would freak out and lose her mind, because she had seen the Poltergeist movie one time, but only about a half hour of it, and all of that was done by peeping between her hands and that was enough scary stuff for her, thanks.
As for the question about forms....... uh? Bernie had to think a bit before she raised her hand to hazard an answer based entirely on her thought process just now and not on any of their readings or previous class discussions. HA.
"We are doing possessions. YOU are going to offer yourself up to be possessed by a ghost. I think that's VERY brave of you, professor. I've never seen anyone get possessed before so I will work VERY hard to get the spirit out of you but I will ALSO be appreciative of your sacrifice for us."
Bernie nodded solemnly after her answer.

Naya watched as the room started to fill with students. Class would be starting soon, no doubt. When Cole arrived and sat next to her, Naya returned his greeting with a whisper and a smile. ”Hi Cole”. But now it was time to get to work and Naya turned her attention to Professor Kitridge.
When Naya heard the question, she had a few ideas about the day’s lesson. She raised her hand to give her answer. “One form of Divination is Necromancy.....communicating with the dead. It can be used to predict the future.” Given the fact that they were in the Spirit Room and taking in the overall vibe of the place, she ventured a guess. “The dark room, the candles and the fragrance......this seems like a very inviting place for spirits. Are we going to be summoning spirits today?”
