Whoever said the petting zoo was just for kids? At Diagon Alley's Summer Street Festival, the Magical Petting Zoo is for children of all ages- from 0 to 900. Behind the pastel gates of the petting zoo, adventurers can enjoy an array of different exposures to see the critter creatures of the magical world AND get the chance to feed some animals too...with Mum and Dad's permission, of course.
Upon entering the petting zoo, there is a flobberworm cage straight to the left where you can watch flobberworms make mucus all day long. For our slightly more adventurous critter lovers, there are several gated areas to watch and feed winged-horses, nifflers, porlocks, augureys and llamas.
To feed our creature friends, there are several machines located around the petting zoo filled with food for each specific creature at only a knut a piece!
Enjoy the creatures and pet a flobberworm. They're very hospitable.
OOC: Have fun interacting with the animals, and their keeper Rozanna Jupitus (Emzily)!
Oh hey there. Jeez, Lottie was awful excited at the idea of looking around a ruddy, old repair shop, yeah? Her face had just gone a thousand files brighter, which Ascanius didn't understand. It was just a shop. S'not like anything important or cool, though the motorbike he has spent all summer building WAS awesome. But this was way too much bubbly excitement for a grease shop.
Humouring her, he smiled-ish, it moreso resembled a smirk and probably was, at her and said, "Absolutely, beautiful."
Smiiiiirk. He had really enjoyed the last time she visited, although she was a bit of a tyrant when it came to music. They were his records to begin with and she was mostly relaxing anyway, so maybe NEXT time if they did they same round about he could tap along. He hadn't been bothering anyone. Well, Lottie, but whatever.
And he was in the midst of a VERY attractive smirk, all of his were but the current one was his Mona Lisa, and she got all spazzed out. Blinking, he kept smirking, "S'my thing." Wink. And he nodded at her request to go do something else. S'fine with him, yeah?
It was exciting, Ascanius, yeah? It was different! And she knew nothing about this which made it all even better because she might learn a thing or two. Or just see the repair shop, at least. Which wasn't as exciting, but it was still a new experience and whatnot.
She was keen on those.
And....EXCELLENT! Lottie nodded again, but said nothing more. He'd been the one who suggested this tour to the repair shop in the first place, there was little to add.
Yeah-huh. His thing. It didn't matter if she wanted to appear mad at him, there was no way that would happen if he kept on smirking and winking. This was a serious problem. Lucky for him, Lottie approved of his ways, sooooo.... she winked back and pulled him along, "Come on."

He WAS going to say something else with a smirk and all, but Lottie was obviously ready to move on. Because the fifth year was suddenly being dragged away to a destination he didn't know. Jeez, gorgeous, don't handle the goods so roughly. He was like fine silver, you didn't want to scratch that stuff.
A smile graced Schuyler's lips as it dawned on her that they were getting into a deep discussion about.. flobberworms. Well, maybe those things deserved a little consideration - no one else really cared much about flobbies. The niffler was still hoarding the coin, and Schuyler had basically forgotten about it already. She was more interested in what Olly had to say about her family.
A little sister. It was difficult to get insight into whether there was a close relationship there or not. Sometimes she could detect some sort of subconscious smile or a sigh that would hint towards how the person felt about their siblings, but Schuyler wasn't sure yet. "So, just you two and your parents? And Julian." No forgetting the toad. She walked contentedly along with Olly. The sun was peeking out more now, and she lowered her sunglasses down from her head and onto her nose. "I have a little sister, too. She's the youngest. And then I have a younger brother and an older brother, too." An even four.
She finished off the remainder of the pink cotton candy and tossed the paper cone into the garbage bin along the way. Well, this was turning into quite the day. A day of two-way mirrors, cotton candy, and flobberworms.
Olly used finishing the last bits of her cotton candy as an excuse to not look at or answer Schuyler right away. Instead she focused on getting every last bit of the cotton candy off the stick and finally throwing it into a nearby trash can. Finally after what seemed like an eternity and after she'd licked her fingers clean did Olly look back up at Schuyler. "Well, no. It's her, me but our parents aren't our real parents." Well done explaining that!
"We're adopted." She therefore added quite bluntly, her eyes briefly flicking to a creature in one of the cages behind Schuyler before they came to rest on her face again. Yes. It was all good. But she still felt like pointing it out everytime. Because it felt like cheating somehow if she said that her parents were her parents. Even though they were. So it really shouldn't matter but somehow Olly always felt the need to explain the difference. It wasn't like she was ashamed or anything. It was just...different.
At the mention of Julian, Olly absently patted her bag from the outside, a small smile flashing across her lips. Schuyler hadn't forgot about him. But back to her. Which was way more interesting anyway. Wow. Three brothers and sisters. "And who did you want to get the mirror for?" Olly asked with a small almost hesitant grin, remembering what Schuyler had told her earlier. Because ORIGINALLY the second half of the mirror hadn't been meant for her. Ha! Take that Schuyler's brother! Sucks for you! Ahem.

Schuyler was beginning to get used to the length of silence that came between her questions and Olly's answers. The same thing had happened back at Wiseacre's, when Schuyler initially thought that she was being ignored. But she knew better this time, and so she had no problem waiting. It wasn't always as easy for other people to talk about their family as it was for Ky.
And now she understood why. Or, kind of did. You couldn't totally understand someone's circumstances unless you'd gone through the same thing. "Do you get along with them all right, or..?" Schuyler wasn't sure whether she was overstepping boundaries for being such new friends, but if Olly got uncomfortable or didn't wish to talk about it, she wasn't going to push it.
Yes, that Julian. Olly's 'Get your own toad!' jogged back into her mind for a second, and the girl let out a quiet giggle. Luckily it was something that could be laughed about now. Who did she want to get the mirror for? "You," she grinned over at her. "But before I really talked to you, I was planning on getting them for my older brother, Ansel, and me." She swiveled her head forward, glanced around at all the creatures they were passing. For a moment she had forgotten where they were even walking. "The mirrors will really come in handy if we're placed in different houses." Which, for some reason, Schuyler had a feeling they would be.
Flying didn't need to be a scary business, and Spike wouldn't let it be. For one, he would never willingly put her at risk. He simply nodded, and squeezed her hand back. "Thank you." Maybe they should wait until the warm weather came again after he move back, just so she got to have the experience at it's best. Flying in the pouring rain wasn't fun for anybody. Nor snow, unless it involved rolling down a big snow drift at the end.
"I think she does too, sweetheart." Well, the horse had responded well enough, so he was inclined to agree. Admittedly, horse were rather much larger than the creatures he tended to favour. He gave Patronus a good stroke down the mane. "I bet you look majestic in the air," he said, reaching over to the food bag, only to find it partially empty and a nose nearby. "Well, aren't you just sneak-"
Huh? Spike turned to try and follow Addy's gaze. He squinted through his glasses, before shaking his head. "No idea. If you can't tell, how you expecting the short sighted one to see?" He could see some brightly coloured stalls though, and if it WAS Jimmy, it'd be great to go say hi. "You want to wander over in that direction?"
Thank you? Had he just thanked her for trusting him? He was a cutie pie, he was. HEHEHE. "You're welcome. But really I should be thanking you for being so amazing."
Addy turned her gaze back to Spike as he talked to and petted Patronus the winged horse. CUTE. She wished idly that she had brought a camera with her. It was so seldom they both had free time to enjoy such things. SIGHS. She even giggled as Spike realized Patronus has nearly eaten all of the food. CUTE HORSEY WAS CUTE!
Pulling slightly on his hand she said, "Well I THINK it's him, but even if not there are some pretty flowers over there so we should definitely head that way." And no, she was not suggesting he buy HER some flowers... she might buy HIM some. Since he liked plants so much and all. HEHEHE.
A flush of colour came to his cheeks, and he lightly shook his head. "Not at all. I know it's a big thing for you. But the fact you're willing to give it a go and trust me means a lot." He gently lifted her chin, and gave her a light kiss on the lips. Yes, he was feeling romantic today. Thoughts of the future and all.
He shrugged, and chuckled at Patronus. He couldn't be cross, given the food was for her anyway. Plus it seemed to be causing Addy amusement. He BEAMED at her, eyes twinkling.
Oh, she wanted to move that direction? Spike left the remaining food where it was for Patronus, and squinted towards the bright colours where she was leading him. "Flowers?" Well, that would make sense of the coloured blurs he could see. Stupid short sighted eyes. He pushed his glasses up his nose, and grinned at his girlfriend. "You saying I should buy you some?" Because he totally would. Addy deserved pretty fragrant flowers to brighten up the house. Really, he should have thought of that one earlier...maybe even stopped to get her some on the way. Oh well, too late now. He'd get her some to take home.

Great, more questions about her family. Again, Olly didn't really have a problem with her parents or anything. Not at all really. Though, things could be a bit difficult, they had been there for her for almost 10 years now. Still, she didn't really like talking about it. Especially because most people asked the most annoying questions every time she said she was adopted. Not Schuyler though. She asked the right questions. Or acceptable ones anyway.
Still, Olly wasn't used to talking about her family situation.
"...yes." Olly finally replied after yet another moment of silence. "Though, I wasn't too happy having to leave for Hogwarts now." She added with a small frown, thinking back to all the fights her and her mother had had over it. And then the period of silence between them. The ongoing period of silence between them. Why had they decided to send her off to Hogwarts NOW? Or at all? She hadn't really caused any problems at home recently. So it didn't SEEM like it was for punishment. Ugh.
Olly opened her mouth as if to say something in reply to Schuyler's 'you' but ended up simply closing it again. She didn't know how to react to that. Though her smile may have widened a lot little. "Well, tell Ansel I'm not sorry." She smirked slightly before adding, a little more seriously, "So you two are close then, yeah?" Sounded like it. Why else would she want to share that mirror with him.
Her next words caused her smile to vanish however, her eyes resting on a random Abraxan nearby. "I hope we won't be though." There she was soooort of looking forward to Hogwarts and now this.
