"I don't know if boring is the right word so much as peaceful without you," Tori teased Jorge right back before turning her hazel eyes on the cute kid. "And yes, modeling is the name of the game. I think you'd both be great at it. NATURALS, even." She rolled her eyes a little bit as Jorge of course wanted to discuss his political/educational articles again, but didn't waste her breath defending her cousin. Why he couldn't remember her relation to the Headmistress was beyond her, but Tori wasn't too bothered by it. "You too, Kenny," she piped up when their ghost-writer-coworker dude popped out of hiding. She flipped her strawberry-scented hair in his direction. "The more models the better. And you all have different fashion tastes, no?" Or at least she was going to dress them all differently.... hehe. |
Theo soon felt a little awkward being surrounded by so many adults that knew each other and had a job to do. He didn't have a clue what he was doing, so he just stood in silence for a moment, fiddling with his fingers behind his back. Would he be allowed to do both assignments? He smiled encouragingly at Mr. Jorge. "I'll definitely see what I can rustle up... sir." Yes, he already had a few ideas about questions to ask. Oh, hello other person. He continued his silence and looked around the room for something to distract his attention. Ah, a lamp. Lovely. "I'd love to model!" Just not quite that enthusiastically, sheesh. Theodore cleared his throat and tried to deepen his voice a little to make him sound a bit more manly. "You don't need... like, any fashion advice, though, right? I mean I'm not so great in that area." Hence why he borrowed a lot of his clothes from his friends. |
“Peaceful? What kind of fun is that Senorita?” His Spanish accent coming through as his smirk played on his lips towards Tori. “I hope my ascents didn’t go without success. Did you get a good story?” He was hoping she had. It had been months plenty of time to get all things together. Though he wouldn’t be surprised if Basil squashed the story being so afraid of the little department head. Emily his mind played on her name for a bit. His eyes lifting to the next person to come over. “Hello Kenrick” He wasn’t close with many of his coworkers he had realized in the last few months away not that he really cared to be, but he probably should try to be a little more friendly to them. Starting with Tori of course. His eyes did go back to the boy as he seemed eager to help out. Good this was going to help make this story. “Excellent. We can talk more after Tori has her way with your fashion.” As for him he just looked at the redhead. “and what’s in it for me? You know I’m not going to be part of such a production without a benefit for myself involved.” So would she like to compromise and just let him decided what she had to do for him. Playing with his quill he raised a brow towards the woman. “You don’t need to know much about fashion. Just what women will find most eye catching, right Tori?” He may have been taking most of this fashion stuff as a joke, but he was serious about that part. He got many things just by looking good so why not enlighten the younger generation of this secret. |
Basil threw open the door to the work space and stomped in, still covered head to toe in rainbow paint and confetti BY THE WAY, and muttered a few incoherent things under his breath. "I need to step out for a bit," he grumbled. "Be careful not to slip on any of the wet paint in the lobby if you head that way. Your medical insurance won't cover that." And now he was going to leave before ANYONE could make any comments about his appearance. GOOD DAY. |
ya'll + Basil (FELIX COME BACK TO US, WE AREN'T DONE WITH YOUS YET) Tori heard The BOOM! from over here, but mostly just assumed it was Basil doing Basil things, probably something with that pineapple of his. She ignored it as she ignored most things and continued chatting it up with her co-workers. "You're right, peaceful is just code for 'boring.'" Tori gave Jorge a sideways grin. "I got a... something, do you want to see it?" It wasn't worthy of being a new story, apparently, but maybe it could be published as an opinions piece... or maybe it could be forwarded onto a different news source entirely. :shifty: The ginger was ever-so-glad the new boy was on board! "Excellent!" she chirped. "I have some things in the break room for you to try on right away. Both of you. YOU TOO, KENNY," she tilted her head back and hollered in his general direction. "I would have thought seeing your own pict----" Oooooooooooooooooooooh boy. Tori stopped in the middle of her sentence and just STAAAAAAARED at their boss as he stomped over and then stomped off. WOW. WOWWWWWW. She managed to keep quiet for as long as he was within earshot, and then burst into laughter the second he walked out the door of the building. "Did you SEE THAT," she exclaimed, tugging on Jorge's sleeve just a bit. "One of you should follow him and snap a photo for posterity. I MEAN REALLY. He was painted and confetti'd!" Like a walking birthday party at a paintball course! |
*flails* HEY I'M HERE HI HELLO Kenny. That was a nickname people never seemed to tire of. Kenrick squinted in Victoria's direction as she flipped her hair at him, but he didn't try to refuse the invitation to do this... modeling thing. For reasons. He'd just opened his mouth to give a verbal agreement, when... there was a very loud and obvious BOOM from just through the door. The writer was staring in the direction of the noise in confusion and some interest, when the door suddenly flew open and Basil made a very grand, very colourful entrance. Soooooooooooo... that solved that mystery. Kenrick had a hard time keeping a straight face as his boss stomped through the room, but managed to press his lips tightly together and avert his eyes until the walking rainbow had stropped his way back out again. He wasn't going to laugh. He wasn't. He wasn't intending to laugh. And he didn't, but when Victoria burst out laughing, Kenrick couldn't help but give the smallest of chuckles. He quickly reined that micro-laughter in, but his amused expression was harder to try an hide. And what did it matter? Basil couldn't see him. Clearing his throat to sort of cover up the fact that he'd laughed, Kenrick moseyed on over to the majority of the group, nodding to whoever looked at him in greeting. "It's a shame Basil doesn't seem up for modeling," he finally said, still looking in the direction of the door. "I think he looks rather dashing." |
anyone.. It had been a week since Jorge had been in the office. His little vacation had been wonderful and it was hard to get back into the swing of things, but here he was. When he left last week he had no clue that the night before the trip things would have been decided that would make some changes in his life. He played with the small ring on his left finger, still not fully use to it. Going through the small amount of letters piled on his desk he came across one that seemed interesting. Opening it he read through, this was very interesting. Quote:
Hmm this was interesting. He sat down and grabbed parchment to make notes. This article had been taking a bit more time then he'd liked, but he felt it was getting closer. Sitting staring off a bit his mind went between his trip, the wedding, and his article. |
Double posts for intern stuff and because no one loved me in the first one! :P Just as they were to leave the reception area he saw him. His "So anyway" He started as Basil had left. "Like I said I'll show you around. Not a big place, but works for us. The break room is a good place for coffee if you drink it. There is a place to store a lunch or something to drink as well." Making his way into the writer offices, "That was is Basil's office, there is an empty office over there, and here is where all the magic happens." He chuckled towards the girl. "You'll see names at every desk so you can't mess them up. I think yours is right over there." He pointed near Tori. "You like Quidditch?" Just a question if she said yes he's line up the interview, if not, he'd show her to the fashion queen so she could have her fun there. |
Quote:
Ooh! Now this was the part she was looking forward to! The writers offices. Sparking ideas into every young |

The rest of the team is pretty nice as well. Ask them anything they'll be able to help. " That was enough of an introduction right, "Oh and make sure your hands are clean around Basil, he has this germ issue." There he warned the girl what she did with the information was her choice. He sat down at his desk that was very neat with just a few parchment notes, his dark wizard story started, but left for awhile, and two pictures, one of his two nieces and one of himself and his wife on their wedding day. Sitting down at his desk he motioned at the chair. "We are having a bit of a slow news summer so far from what I can see, but if you would like a change at your own story I could set you up with a Quidditch player, maybe one that is retiring for an interview or send you to an upcoming tryout of Hogwarts seventh years if you'd like a chance to write about the up and coming stars." Did any of those sound fitting for her? If not well he thought the copier still needed fixed maybe she could do that. |
Quote:
"I would love to! I mean, whatever would work best. I'd love to write about Quidditch!" she said excitedly. She'd always wanted to write something for someone. Er, something important, that is. She pushed her hair behind her head and waited for Jorge's response. |
Quote:
"Good, my wife is the department head for Games and Sports. So I can let her know you will be there." He pulled out some parchment that had the information on it. "It will be on Saturday July 29. Starts at 9:00 a.m. I think she told me they are dividing it up by positions or something." It wasn't that he didn't listen to his wife, he just wasn't that into quidditch. "It will be held at the Quidditch pitch down near the ministry. Are you familiar of the place?" He glanced up at her. "Be a good way to see some players right before they go pro. Meet some coaches and expand your resources." Always good to make connections where ever you went. |
Quote:
"So, uhh, my concerns aren't really big, we don't even have to sit down, I could just ask you right here in the--" They had just walked into a significantly less clean area of the DP. "Oh wow." He didn't expect it to be this messy in here considering the absolute cleanness of the reception area. "What was I saying?" He plucked his eyes away from the changing fake-windows and looked back at the young lady. |
Quote:
She watched him with a small, PROFESSIONAL smile as he looked around. Tori didn't waste time in bouncing to her seat and pulling out her ever-present pad of paper and pink quill. She waited politely for him to gather his words and let out a light laugh. "You were saying --- please, make yourself comfortable," she pointed to a chair which zoomed up to him from behind and nudged him right at the knees, insistently. "You were saying that you had a concern about the Bachelor of the Month column? Was there someone in there that you wanted to contact, or..." cue breathy gasp, "were you VOLUNTEERING yourself to be featured, Mr. Bones?!!!" SHE WOULD HAVE TO WRITE HIS COLUMN. Obviously. Dibs! Dibs! |
Quote:
"I am here to contact one of the bachelors, actually, yes. There was a mister... Rustin? If you would enlighten me of the methods you apply to the process of choosing a certain person to be featured in that column. How thorough is your research about their background?" He leaned all the way forward to her desk, giving her a serious and gentle look. "Hmm? How deep do you dig before you promote them on your paper?" HMM? |
Quote:
But, back to his concern. "Rustin Killick?" Yes, she remembered the name. The redhead swiveled her chair back to her desk for a moment, rooting around in a file folder she had there before she came up with the correct clipping, which she handed to him in case he needed a refresher. Merlin, had that article really been published over a year ago?! "Well to be honest, Mr. Bones, we only deal directly with sources who personally know the selected bachelor or bachelorette. You'll notice that your own boss, Ms. Browne, and Rustin's boss, Mr...." whatever it was, she tapped his name on the article with her long nails in lieu of saying it, "were the ones who nominated Rustin, and who volunteered information about him." She wasn't at all intimated by his leaaaaning forward; she quite liked it, in fact, and leaned in as well, her expression mirroring his. She even lowered her voice. "We do not run background checks on our nominees, as most people are entitled to a little privacy, wouldn't you agree? But you're welcome to contact him or to do an investigation of your own into his background before you meet with him." She knew he had the connections he'd need to investigate this bachelor, if he really needed to. She swiveled away again and wheeled back with a small slip of paper, that paper containing the important details on Rustin Killick. Did he want it? Hmm? Tori didn't hand it over just yet. She had another question of her own for dear darling handsome beautiful Bones. |
Quote:
Upon seeing the Killin' face of the Killick man, though, he squinted his eyes at the article. Yes, yes, that was the Oh leaning in was fun when he did it alone, now they were uncomfortable close. He leaned back in his chair and watched her get a piece of paper. "Well, I see." Shouldn't she give him that paper now? Was it the contact information? He extended his hand encouragingly. "Thank you for your help, Victoria-- may I call you that?-- the matter is now resolved." It was Emily who he needed to seek after this. If only she could give him the paper she had in her hand, though. Was there anything scandalous in there??? Is that why she was holding on to it? |
Quote:
Dang. The redhead's eyes narrowed slightly as her clever brain started working again. So he was in this for the sister... "What a kind brother you are," she clucked approvingly, with a tiny smile to boot. "You are being SO thorough in setting up your sibling..." Was this a purely selfless move though? Tori was curious. Not curious enough to lean away though. "Tori is better, actually," she held the paper just above his hand, but still clutched tightly in her own. "And speaking of my name, can't we be on a first name basis? You see, I have just nearly done a favor for you, and I wonder... if I were to need a favor FROM you in the near future.....I would feel so much more comfortable giving up this information if I knew I could count on you for it." By first name, darling. |
Quote:
"Uhh.." First name basis sounded nice. Though he didn't know what the angle was exactly of this friendship offer?? "Sure. Tori. You can call me Vic. We can be on first name basis." He clarified, those journalists had to be dealt cautiously and with accurate, clear words for them not to trick you into anything. But he was gentleman enough to be there for a young lady who needed a prosecutor's 'favor'. So he nodded confidently. "If you need my help in the near future, I will help you." A favor, though. HMM. "And if I can grant you the said favor, I will do it, too, as long as it doesn't conflict with my career or social morals." JUST SAYING. What if she asked him to spew some bad dirt about his beloved boss, hmm? Nope, that was still a no. Yes? His arm was still extended towards her. "Can I get the information now?" He didn't know this info paper was only handed in exchange for something, they didn't mention that in the paper, did they? Tricky tricky people. |
Quote:
"Sure, Vic, I understand. I wouldn't ever ask you to do anything immoral." There she went again, fluttering her oh so innocent eyelashes. And now for the paper he was so worried about.... she opened her fist and let it drop into his palm. "There you go!" Tori sing sang. "Anything else I can help you with today???" |
Quote:
Once the paper was safely in his hand, he skimmed over what was written there and folded it into his jacket's pocket. "I believe you've been helpful enough today, thank you." He got up and offered his hand for a handshake. See you later, little friend? |
Quote:
"My pleasure," the redhead replied, giving his big and warm hand a friendly shake. Such a warm handshake for a friend. Then she let him go with a, "You can find your way out alright?" Gosh, his girlfriend was so lucky. |
Quote:
Vic nodded and patted the side of Tori's head, "Yes, of course." He could show himself out, he lived in a maze of tunnels for crying out loud and never got lost, not only once! "Excuse me." With a farewell smile, he turned to leave the offices. |

Where was it.. Where was that parchment. It had to be there. Jorge pushed and moved stuff off his desk. Seriously one would think if they worked from home more often their desk at work would be a little neater. Since Regina had come he'd been doing a lot of work from home days. It was convenient and he was still making all his deadlines and getting to all his meetings. Super dad as he'd like to call it, but right now he needed to find that parchment. The ministry stuff was getting repetitive lately and he new he'd be ready for the election to end. Something else to write about finally when it was over. Though his little encounter with one of the candidates had him searching everywhere for his notes from the first event. Finally finding it he sat down and read it over, yep just as he thought. He wondered how some people ever made it as far as they did. Rubbing his chin he thought things over and then tossed the parchment away. It really wasn't news worthy. Nothing that went on at the ministry seemed to be lately. |
