Alyssa was grateful that the shopkeeper over at Slugs and Jiggers Apothecary had told her that they had probably gone for a break because he was right, the store was open. She dashed in and grabbed the telescope she needed. She headed towards the counter before she realized that there was more to this store than just telescopes. There was a staircase that led upstairs. "I guess that's where guests who want to stay for awhile, go. Maybe one day when school's out we could spend a night or two here", she said to her parents.
As she turned and walked further into the store she saw a beautiful shimmering cloak hanging on a rack. But it wasn't just an ordinary cloak. It was an invisible cloak. She had heard that one existed but she had never seen one before. "This may come in handy one day", the mischievous part in her was thinking. But she knew that her parents wouldn't allow her to have it. So she reluctantly laid it aside and moved on to the other shelves checking out the other magical items in the store.
She noticed shelves containing magical items for transportation, storage, and other uses. She picked up some floo powder. "This will come in handy for traveling from one place to another, since I'm not allowed to disapparate yet and I'll definitely need a magical trunk and mokeskin purse, because I'm going to need something to put all these stuff I've just bought and that's not counting the stuff that I have at home from last year. Oh boy!."
But she was not done yet. She grabbed some everlasting candles because she knew that she would be doing some last minute, late night reading in the near future. She also picked up a two-way mirror, so that she could see her family, if she started to feel homesick, like she did the year before. She picked up what she needed and moved towards the counter, looking longingly at the Invisibility Cloak as she walked past it. She decided to ask her parents permission to buy one. "Can I have the Invisibility Cloak, Mom and Dad? I promise I will not misuse it to hurt anyone or to cheat". She waited while her parents talked it over. She saw her mother shaking her head as her father spoke with her, and her hopes kept sinking lower and lower. Finally her parents turned to her. They were both smiling. They told her that she could have one on the condition that she swore that she would never misuse it and use it for the wrong reasons. "I swear, I swear. Thank you so very much", she said and hugged them both. She quickly ran back and grabbed the cloak and added it to the pile she had placed on the counter.
She noticed that the shopkeeper was busy helping others, so she stood there waiting patiently with her parents, happy with the things that she had found in the store. While she waited she calculated how much she would owe the shopkeeper. 21 galleons and 11 sickles. That sounded like a lot of money, but she promised herself that she would make good use of everything she had bought today. "Whenever you ready, Miss", she told the shopkeeper, "I'm ready to check out". | "Sorry little one, I don't sell invisibility cloaks for the use of children, it's a Ministry restriction." With her wand, she summoned the cloak and placed it back on the display with the others, "19 Galleons and 3 Sickles for the rest of it then." The other items were spinning about in midair, wrapping up themselves and then placing themselves back on the counter top. Quote:

A hand slipped into his cloak, Rudolphus withdraws six gold coins out from it. "Six galleons, isn't it?" he asks the shopkeeper to make sure before making a payment. | "Yes sir, six galleons." Gemini smiled at the girl, "Would you like me to wrap it up for you, dearie?" Quote:

Nora walked towards the counter and waited in line to pay for the telescope and the deluminator she was still holding in her arms, careful not to break them. Nope, she wouldn't want that, would she?
Now let's just hope that she won't have to wait for a long time, since she knew how clumsy she could sometimes be. | "11 galleons for you my dear." She reached out and took both of the items, and glanced at the child, who looked a little bit smaller than her telescope, "Would you like me to put a temporary charm on it, to make it easier to carry?" After gathering all she required, Pippa made her way to the counter to wait her turn to be served. She whipped her tattered school supplies list out of her pocket and began crossing off the things she'd gathered in the store; One telescope, one magical trunk.. and of course, one packet of exploding snap, just a little something to keep herself entertained on the journey. She'd already read half of her textbooks already, after borrowing them off of her older cousin, so decided to treat herself.
At last, she was at the front of the line, and Pippa placed each item carefully onto the counter and began counting out her coins. | "8 Galleons and 12 Sickles, little one." Gem started to wrap everything up, giving the girl some room to count out her coins. Quote:

After gathering them together, she walked to the counter, placed the telescope, the magical trunk, the Anti-Burglary Buzzer and the Mokeskin Pouch on the counter, "how much will these cost, ma'am?" | Gemini grinned, "12 Galleons and 6 Sickles, dear." Quote:

Uh-oh , she fell face down on the floor. :whaa: "Help ?" she inquired. | "Oh dear." Gemini held up a finger to indicate to her next customer that she would return in just a moment, and stepped around the counter to help the poor child. "There you are my dear." She said, setting her back on her feet. "Careful now, there are lots of breakables in here." Quote:

Clara had already made her way to many of the shops, but still, there were items she was in need of. Walking into Wiseacres, she spotted a blue telescope, just like that man from the apothecary had pointed out. Success! But before heading to the counter, she saw a magical trunk and figured that would probably come in handy as well. Lugging the trunk and telescope over the counter, she asked the shopkeeper, "Um, how much would this be?" | Gem's eyes traveled over the purchases and nodded at the child, "8 Galleons and 3 Sickles."
