Looking over the items again, Roxy calculated the total again and-AH. Yup, just like she suspected. The girl had been wrong. Luckily she checked it over. "Not quite. See everything would have been 9 galleons and 17 sickles. But since 17 sickles is 1 galleon your total is 10 galleons." Yup, yup. Picking up the money that the girl had put on the counter Roxy dropped it into the resister and quickly wrapped the chess board and the telescope. "There you go. Have a nice day!" She said as she put the items in a bag and handed them to the girl.

"Thank you!" called Salina. Okay, she seldom got her calculations wrong, but maybe it was since school started soon and she was excited... Well, her calculations were only 5 sickles short... Almost as if she had read Roxy's mind, she took out a paper cup full of coffee. Still steaming hot, she put it onto the counter, smiling.

"I thought you might want some, since it's still so early in the morning." she grinned, and then, the half-Veela took off.

Well. She wasn't about to do it.

"Telescopes are at the far wall back there." She pointed with her wand, "And I don't sell Invisibility Cloaks to kids."

She didn't say she was sorry.

Because she wasn't.

Trent was slightly taken aback at the shopkeeper's attitude to him but kept that information to himself.

"Oh that's a pity, I've always wanted one. Never mind, guess I could always come back after I've left Hogwarts and buy one?

I'll just go and get a telescope..."

Trent walked over to the far wall and picked up a telescope which looked a bit dusty but nevertheless he needed one so again kept the information to himself. He walked back to the counter with the telescope.

"How much will this be, please?" Trent asked the shopkeeper, making sure to put please on the end as he didn't want to come across as being rude.

After looking around at the many fasinating objects, Lisa goes to the counter and pays the shopkeeper for one telescope.

Huh. A random cup of coffee from a random little girl who she didn't know who could have put something in it.What had those Auror's who always came to Mungo's told her ALL the time? OH yeah! Constant vigilance. Which made SENSE but...it was coffee after all. "Why thank you! Have a nice day now!" Roxy took a sip of the coffee. It was black and plain but it was coffee so she loved it.

What an awesome little girl!

"You seem to be on top of your game." Roxy said with a chuckle as the new customer dropped 6 galleons in front of her for a telescope. Picking up the money she rang it into the register. Roxy quickly wrapped the telescope and handed it to the girl before going back to her might be semi dangerous black coffee. "Have a nice day now!"

Beth shuffled to the counter, weighed down by the objects she held in her arms. When she reached the counter she smiled at the woman standing behind it.
"I would like to buy this cauldron, pewter standerd size two, and a telescope . . . oh and a magical trunk," she said, still grinning.

Roxy took another sip of her coffee as another customer stepped up to the counter. The coffee had just been black but she felt alot better from drinking it. To be honest she was surprised by the strenth of the girl. Those items were heavy! "You really know your cauldrons." she said with a grin. Lifting the cauldron from the girls arms she began to wrap it. "Your total will be 11 galleons and 3 sickles." Once she was finished wrapping the cauldron she put that and the telescope inside the trunk.

Beth grinned as she handed the items over, glad to be able to move properly again.
"Thankyou," she said as she handed over the amount asked for. "Is that right," she said frowning at the money trying to make sure she hadn't mistaken sickles for knuts again.

Looking over the money that the girl had given her, Roxy smiled and then nodded. "Yup! Galleons are gold, sickles are silver, and kunts are brown. And I don't see any brown coins in this bunch." Something told her that the girl must be Muggleborn. Counting the money quickly, she put it in side the register. "Have a good day now! Come back soon." The Assistant said returning all the wrapped items to the girl.

"Six galleons, kid." Dakota leaned against the counter and stifled yet another yawn as she held open the register.

Wasn't it time for these kids to be getting back to school yet?

Oh, she couldn't wait.

"Hello!" Heather walked up to the counter and said with her squeaky eleven year old voice. "Could I please get a telescope and a two-way mirrors set?" She asked the shopkeeper. Heather was bursting with excitement of starting her first year at Hogwarts.

Roxy frowned. Her coffee was done. So that mean no warm yummy goodness, and that of course lead to her being tired. She really needed a never ending coffee cup. The assistant smiled at the young girl who came up to the counter.

Huh. Another kid who was too lazy to go get her things? Roxy had half the mind to tell the girl that a shop meant you picked up the items and THEN bring them to the cash. But she was too tired because her coffee was done. Roxy waved her wands as she levitated the items to the counter. "That will be 8 galleons." She said putting the items in the bag for the small girl, with a smile.

Heather handed the girl behind the counter 8 galleons and smiled up at her. "Thank you. Have a great day." Heather walked out of the sore and back into Diagon Alley.

Quite time was the best.

Jaina walked into the shop hoping that she would catch someone in the shop. She picked out a telescope from the far side of the shop, but didn't see the magical trunks that were advertised in the window. Hmmm, must be closer to the counter, she thought. She approached the counter and sat her telescope down. "Um, hi, just this and a magical trunk, please."

Hmm. It was almost time for the kiddies to go back to Hogwarts wasn't it? Roxy was sure of that. Any day now. "Hullo there!" She said with a smile as another small girl approached the counter. Telescope and a trunk? Flicking her wand she levitated a standard trunk onto of the counter. "Those two items will be 8 galleons and 3 sickles." From working here all summer, Roxy knew for sure that the shop made a whole bunch of money.

Jaina dug in her messenger bag and removed a coin purse. "Gold is galleons, silver is sickles." she recited it once more as she had at each shop. Hopefully by the time she started Hogwarts, this would be engrained in her head! "There you go! Thank you so much! Have a great day!" Jaina picked up the trunk only to topple down with the trunk landing on top of her. She slide the trunk off of her and began to blush from embarrassment. Her hair began to turn pink and she closed her eyes tight and chanted "Don't turn, don't turn, don't turn." Her hair went back to it's natural red and she picked herself up. "Heh, heh, guess I won't try that again! Thank you once again!" This time she drug the trunk behind her and exited the store.

Diagon Alley was mostly empty now that all school-age children were...well...at school, making Elinor feel a little exposed as she entered Wiseacres--a little unfarmilliar with the layout of the shop--and approached the counter.

Her hair was back to it's normal brown-reddish, and today she wore a monochromatic outfit--black slacks, a longsleeved white dress shirt under a black vest, and her black leather boots. In her pale fingers she clasped a manilla envelope, slightly wrinkled.

"Excuse me," she said softly, stepping up to the counter.

Dakota glanced at the woman, an unreadable look in her eyes. Now that all of those annoying children had gone back to school, and were not crowding her shop, touching things with their sticky fingers, or breaking her merchandise, she'd finally found some peace and quiet. Enough to get some paper work done.

Until this woman decided to interrupt her.

"Yes?"

"Yes?"

Elinor gave a slightly twitchy smile, a somewhat frantic look about her as she spoke quickly, but still softly and calmly. "Good morning, ma'am, I, uh, I won't be taking up much of your time, but in this envelope here is a few clips of film--Photographs. I've heard that the, uh, development done here is exceptional, and I was hoping you could help me," she explained, setting the envelope on the counter.

"There's four photographs in all," she nodded, reaching into her pocket and setting a stack of five Galleons on the counter--more than needed for the rate of eight sickles a photograph. She slid the coins towards the woman.

"I would be very grateful for your help."

Colley 01-02-2011 01:39 AM

Oh. So she was a customer, and not just some obtrusive annoyance. Well, she supposed she could put off her paperwork for a sale.

The woman stared at the envelope, before reaching out and picking it up. "It will be a few minutes." She replied, standing from her stool, and magicking the papers back into her office. "Feel free to.. browse." She waved her hand at the store and turned off, walking into a back room.

Elinor nodded quickly. "Yes, thank you, I shall." Although, honestly, her mind was a bit preoccupied; she had no real intention of browsing. But, out of politeness, she stepped away from the counter and looked one shelf up and down, although she had no idea what she was looking at. She was too concerned with the subject of the pictures to focus on purchasing anything; But what she would need next could not be bought here... No, but the apothecary down the street could help her.

She took a deep breath, fidgeting slightly, and realised that the shopkeeper probably would've thought she was a nut if she continued like this. Elinor calmed herself, waiting patiently in the empty shop.

Colley 01-09-2011 12:12 AM

It was really no time at all before Dakota returned to the counter with an envelope full of pictures, "1 galleon and 15 sickles." She eyed the money that the woman had put on the counter, and scooped it up, handing back the change.

Elinor took a few steps back to the counter, picking up the envelope with both hands, for fear of dropping it if she only used one.

"Oh, thank you so much. Thank you," she nodded, and started to turn, when she saw the woman hand back the change. "No, no, no, no, no, she muttered, almost adding that she didn't have the time for change, but in her frenzied state, merely added, "just....keep it,"

She fully turned from the counter, bade the woman good-day, and stepped back out into Diagon Alley, immediately forgetting the entire visit.

Roxy was about to doze off when someone's voice brought her back to reality. After school had started Wiseacres was basically dead. Roxy didn't mind too much though; it just meant no more young kids spending lots of their parent's money without realizing it.

"Hullo there!!" Ringing up the total she grinned at the lady. "Close, it's actually 8 galleons, 5 sickles and 38 knuts. Better on your part actually." She picked up the pictures and grinned. "I'll be back in a sec with your pictures all set." With that she quickly ran off to the back.
