Wiseacres Counter When your shopping experience, or stay has come to an end, please make your way to the front of the shop, where the check out counter is located. Check out of your room, make your purchases, request gift wrapping, or direct general questions to the shopkeeper. |
Riley walked into the shop hearing that the place was also a Hostel. Being the usual Riley wasn't going to work for ever and since he was going to be living with people at Hogwarts he might as well try it out here with strangers. Plus he couldn't exactly get back to home in Ireland at the moment. Who wouldn't want to live in this street for a few days? He made it to the coutner and stared as no one was there. Seriously, was he supposed to wait around all day? The fifteen year-old reach his hand to the counter and rung the bell a few times. |
SIGH. And so, it starts. Dakota had been sifting through a stack of parchment, when she heard the bell at the counter ring, multiple times at that. Children these days, had they heard of manners? No? Apparently not. "Can I help you?" She asked, dark eyebrow arched, as she leaned on the counter. |
*heading off to bed, will reply tomorrow, Hugs* Quote:
"Yes I need one room until September first please." he said with a slight pause before the p-word. He had to keep telling himself to be polite to everyone. He pulled out his money bag, ready to dish out the necesarry coins. |

Uh huh. Well okay. Dakota turned to her register, and flicked her wand at it, "11 galleons and 28 knuts." She said, reaching for the roster. |
Not a problem! :D Quote:
"Is that all, ma'am?" he asked flashing her a bright smile. He was kind of nervous and excited about staying here. |

Hmmmm. |

Dakota went through the whole deal. She explained the rules, the hostel rooms, guest rooms, and other rules, and then, she waved him off, putting a grin on her face for the first time all day. "Thank you for choosing Brews and Stews Hostel." See? She could be polite. Kind of. |
Right. Apparently there was a Hostel here, and since her allowance didn't stretch as far as to afford a room at the Leaky - plus the fact she was under sixteen, and therefore couldn't stay without a parent - that was where Eliza was going to be staying until the train came, on September the first. 'Hi. I'd like a bed until the first of September, please' she said politely to the woman behind the counter |
"11 galleons and 28 sickles." Dakota repeated, pulling the roster back from under the counter and sliding it back on the wood. "Name, age, sign." |
11 galleons and 28 sickles. Eliza rummaged in her bag for the moleskin pouch where she held all her money and set the exact amount on the counter. She smiled at the woman as she took the roster and filled in the details before signing her name with a flourish at the bottom. Name: Eliza Lucy Summers Age: 12 Signature: ElizaLSummers |
Chaucer had taken a swift glance at the inventory before deciding that he wasn't in the mood for browsing higgledy-piggledy. Instead, he sashayed over to the front counter in such a manner that might indicate the boy had some rather strong illusions of grandeur. "This one requires a brass alembic, if you could. Also, a silver carafe." He might have done his purchasing elsewhere, but as it was he was running lower on his shopping limit for the day and couldn't afford some of the higher-end boutiques. Ugh, limit. Has there ever been such an ugly word? Perhaps if his father hadn't gone all Byronic a few years ago, money wouldn't have been an issue. |
Sophia walked up to the counter and set her telescope on it. She said "Hi, I would like to buy this telescope." she said. "how much do I owe you?" she asked. While she waited for an answer, she looked around the store. This was a really cool place! |

"Have a lovely day." Dakota said, at least trying to be polite, whether or not she succeeded was a whole other story. Quote:
With her wand, she wrapped up the purchases. Quote:
Yawn. Was today over yet? |
Izabella walked up to the counter with a list of items in her hand and the actual items with her arms wrapped around them. "A time turner, a telescope, a set of two-way mirrors, a magical trunk, and a cauldron. Pewter, size two. Oh, and a bed 'til September 1st please." She muttered under her breath, "Stupid parents. Not giving me a trunk because they were afraid it was too heavy. Oh, and not coming with their eleven year old daughter! Ugh." She already had the other stuff from the other shops she had had to go to. |
When Cass reached the counter, she smiled at the person behind it and said "How much is the pewter, standard size two cauldron, a telescope, a trunk and a room until September 1st?" |
'Kid'. How crude. Well, no matter... no wait, it WAS a matter. Now where in the several layers of Hades was he going to get the proper equipment? Why did fate insist upon imposing one tragedy after another upon him? Was being born with plain brown hair not enough? He gave a small irritated frown - faint enough to avoid any wrinkling - and wandered out of the shop, much bereaved. |
I help out, I do, I do!! Quote:
Hadley could only stare at the girl at the counter. How in the name of Merlin was she carrying ALL THAT STUFF!? Shaking her head, since her mouth miiight have been hanging open just a tad, she popped out from behind the counter to help the girl. "Let me help you with that!" she said, taking the things from the girl's hands and placing it on the counter. Hmm..they should have shopping carts! She would mention that to Dakota, but the woman gave her the heebie jeebies. Usually Hadley would do everything by hand, but seeing how the boss lady wrapped the items, she gave a flick of her wand, wrapping up the customers things. Hehe! That was easy! "That'll be 25 galleons, 31 sickles, please!" Pulling out the roster, she handed it over to the girl. "I need you to fill this out, name, age and signature!" OOC: PM Colley ♥ with a link to your post, please! Quote:
Seeing the girl smile, Hadley gave a HUGE smile of her own. Hopefully there was nothing in her teeth..that'd be embarrassing. Closing her mouth quickly, juuust in case, she used one of those snazzy muggle counting devices to add up the prices, "Mmhmm. If you choose to get all that stuff, the total would be 22 galleons, 31 sickles!" Woooot for MATH, as well! |

The sad part is is that I've carried more." She pulled out 25 galleons and 31 sickles. "Here you are," Izzy said, placing them on the desk. She also pulled a rose with a medium short stem and held it out for her to take. "Matthews family tradition. It's enchanted never to die, so do what you'd like with it." She smiled and started writing down her name, age, and signed at the bottom. Name: Izabella Mathews Age: 11 Signature: Izzy Matthews |
