| | Twisting Alleyway Knockturn Alley branches off of the brightly lit and benign Diagon Alley. Along this cobble path, you'll find unique items and ideals of the Dark nature. Or maybe you won't. How pure is YOUR blood?
Watch your step and proceed with caution. It's not too late to go back to the brightly colored umbrellas for a mocha and a muffin.
The Alley itself is multi level and winds around itself in a U shape, a small staircase splitting the upper level and the lower level. The upper level is a dead end, though strangely this is where you can access the Gleaming Gytrash, which has had its access changed in order to ensure certain business dealings are less visible to prying eyes. A few other shops are on this upper level, including The Spiny Serpent and of course Moribunds Pub, which overlooks the small staircase leading to the lower level. Splinter and Kreek's and Borgin and Burkes flank the smaller staircase, and while there are several other dark shops here of an undefinable purpose, you'll also find Twilfit and Tattings and The Coffin House Necromancy Emporium here on either side of the Alley, though which side depends on which way you happen to be going of course, in or out. There is a little nook here between the robes shop and Arkie Aldertons, as if any store which might have been located there before was simply vanished to make some space. The Starry Prophesier can be found here in this nook, its a wagon where certain divination supplies and services are provided by a certain child-eating individual. The main steps will lead you to a few other Knockturn Alley stores and vendors, but also back to the safety of Diagon Alley where the law still counts for something. Map ooc: Remember that Snitchseeker site rules and the Diagon Alley rules apply at all times. Be careful how you play here. Be respectful of others and understand that measures might just be taken IC if trouble erupts. If you have any questions contact the mod in this forum: DaniDiNardo |

Zhenya Burton (Jessiqua) & Slade McKellar (SilverTiger) Not lost are you, my dear? No, just on a first date thank you!:
Your date will start at the Twisting Alleyway as you look over your shoulder when you deviate off Diagon Alley and enter Knockturn Alley. Exchanging nervous hellos before you venture through the dark alley, meeting dodgy vendors and shop owners. Feel free to look through some of the shops. Perhaps in a frightful moment you'll simply reach out to take your date's hand? Once you're getting a bit peckish, after inspecting the top-grade human fingernails and toenails, you might like to make your way to Moribund's pub! What better way to get to know each other in the darkened pub, with a creeping feeling up your spine?

A date at Knockturn Alley? Zhenya had worn a red coat, that she now folded up over her neck. She wasn't scared of Vampires, but she just had this feeling, as she turned off Diagon Alley, that something wasn't... right. Maybe it was just nerves. Yes, that was it. Nothing was there to frighten her. Surely the Matchmaker woman wouldn't put her or her date in a dangerous situation.
But still. It was Knockturn Alley. Zhenya had been there before, in a slight disguise, however. Ingredients down here she just couldn't get anywhere else through London.
Zhenya stood waiting for her blind date, slightly towards the Diagon Alley half of the Twisting Alleyway.

| <3 Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict It wasn’t often that Slade felt like his career actually came in useful on a daily basis. Aside from the usual, considering his work helped him have enough money to support himself and Marley. Once again, he’d left his daughter with her grandparents while he’d headed off to London. The difference this time was that it wasn’t for a tutoring session but possibly the strangest blind date ever. At least he knew he’d be able to protect himself if necessary, but he was giving this matchmaker woman the benefit of the doubt. She wouldn’t have sent them to Knockturn Alley completely without some measure of safety at play. Considering he hadn’t had to include his occupation on the application.
Even so, he’d gone for a rather nondescript outfit for the date. A slate gray sweater and black jeans, his wand tucked away at easy reach as usual. Especially considering his destination. He wasn’t going in unprepared, but he’d had an easy smile on his face as he’d walked up to the woman in the red coat haunting the entrance. “Zhenya, I’m guessing?,” he said softly, his accent not quite as noticeable at the moment.

| Money. Money Money…
That’s all Jack cared about. Money. Well, money and his own self-preservation. He’d sell his dear old mother out for a Sprink. In fact, he probably had at some point in his life. Dear Ol' Jack Roller was all about the Dragots!!
And now he was here in London. It was a far cry from the States for sure, but he’d heard about this Knockturn Alley from a- ah – shall we say coworker? It sounded like the perfect place to make a quick couple of bucks. Especially with the World Cup playing out here. Now, if only he could find the bar. He loved barflies. They were his people and easy to con out of money. |

And here she was. Knockturn Alley.
The further she ventured, the creepier it got. She wasn't turning back now though. Nope nope nope. Not until she got a souvenir or two for Palmer to prove that she'd been here. Ooooh, maybe a shruken head!

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sloane Aubrey Knott Slytherin Fourth Year | Lissy Did she really know where she was going? Not really. Diagon Alley was just so different to Dean Village. The cobblestone streets stretching on and on, twisting and turning, branching off into various shops and alleyways. So, when her father asked her later how they’d ended up in Diagon Alley, the answer he’d give her was simple. It was Adam’s fault. It was his idea. 100%. Okay, so that was a lie but she was there with Adam and they didn’t even mean to go there! Right now, the youngest of the Luck sisters was too excited, too amped up to think where she was going or what she was doing. Too close was she to getting her own wand. Too close was she to finally owning her own spell books and her own trunk! One more year and then she too could venture off with her siblings and finally lean!
Instead, she was dragging her brother with her from the brightly lit alley and into another that branched off. Peering around her brothers’ shoulder, she looked at the various shops in front of her with curiosity, the wonders inside them almost too much for her to resist. And then there was the staircases splitting the alley into two. How could anyone not want to explore it? Even as twins, her and Adam would often bicker and argue but she couldn’t explore without him. “So…should we go an look in some o’ thae shops?” her excitement causing her voice to trill. Someone a little older might have noticed the subtle change of lighting, the shadows and the sombre air that now surrounding them rather than the bright lights of Diagon Alley that lay behind them. Not that she knew she was somewhere different. To her, they were one in the same. “How about over there?” pointing to the sign that said “The Spiny Serpent”, the lure of the brooms a little too much. They could never afford one but no one ever said anything about window shopping. She should know, she worked in a shop. |

| Near the Gleaming Gytrash, a loud crack sounded. A stray cat startled, screeched, and ran off knocking over some trash as it fled as Jack appeared in the dingy poorly lit corner of Knockturn Alley. Tucked into a pocket on his jacket was a small mirror. His hand was shoved into a pants pocket displaying an old fashioned wristwatch that looked like it cost more than Jack’s entire wardrobe. His bristly hair was deflated on top and if one looked closely at him, his eyes had a glossy spaced out appearance. In fact, he stood there at the dead end of the alley as if he was waiting for someone. Or perhaps he was awaiting orders? |

| Don't mind us. Just passing through... *ahem* Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch Knockturn Alley was no stranger to him. Over the years, the Obliviator had become a frequent visitor of the 'dark' and 'ominous' place. He couldn't even count on his fingers and toes how many times he found himself strolling about here anymore. But that was only to be expected when one regularly made the trek from the Ministry to the pub at the end of the work day.
Dante Zabini was in need of a drink. But today he had an errand to make first before he indulged himself. With a crack he appeared at the main steps near Diagon Alley and silently walked past a few shops, the hag's cart, more shops, the pub, and around a corner... only to see some man just standing there.
"Excusez moi," he muttered, attempting to side-step his way past the man. Dante refrained from making eye contact. All he cared about was getting inside the Gleaming Gytrash whilst he internally insulted the idiot who thought it'd be a brilliant idea to make the alleyway so small.

What day was it?
Alexa had lost all sense of time and her mind wasn't too far behind but she wouldn't let it. Somehow, she had to find a way to escape. She had a daughter to get home to, a family that would no doubt be worried and she had a job to do.
While most of her spirit had indeed been crushed, her drive to see her child had kept her going and today was no different....except it was.
This didn't sound like anywhere they'd kept her. There were other voices. It sounded like a public place. It was now or never so Alexa gathered all her strength, knowing she could be heard. "HELP!"

| Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch As he was about to bypass the bloke who apparently didn't get that he was in the way, the cry rang in his ears clear as day. Dante's head turned sharply in the direction he thought the voice had come from. Did someone just cry for help? He did hear that right, yes? He knew Knockturn Alley was a sketchy place, but he didn't feel what he had just heard was a normal occurrence...
"Did you hear that?" he asked the man beside him. He made sure to say so in English as the simple French phrase from moments ago apparently was wasted on him.
Instinctively reaching for the wand in his coat pocket, Dante then glanced over at the man to see if he had reacted in any way. The glossed-over look was the first thing he noticed. It was something he could not say he hadn't seen before, granted he had no idea what was going on with this particular fellow. The state of the man and the cry led him to believe something was off here, and Dante wasn't sure if he should linger much longer.

| Despite the glassy look in his eyes and his deflated hair, Jack was fully aware of this surroundings. Sure, he had herd the man’s comments that he was in the way. Did he move? Nope. But was it because he didn’t want to move? Or because he couldn’t move?
As for the call for help? Yes, he had heard it. In fact, it was a sentiment he himself wished he too could bellow. Only instead of yowling for assistance, his hand yanked on his coat in a way that shook the mirror in his pocket. ”Hear what?” Jack replied in a strong Jersey accent. His hand slipped into a pocket and wrapped around his wand. Glassy eyes followed the man’s movement as he reached for his wand and Jack knew this was not going to end well, not that there was anything he could do about it. All he could do was watch as his own hand produced his wand which he brandished at the man. He tried to tell the man to run, but instead ”I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” came out. |

The street was crowded today, even for the usual squeeze here in the twisting alleyway. The goblin grumped his way down the street, pushing anyone that got too close to him. Yes, he was small, but he was not to be pushed around.
Beady eyes scanned the place as he walked. He was expecting a delivery today and didn't want to be late.
As he walked, he came across a pair of wand carriers who looked close enough to a stand off. While he would keep an eye on them, they were not his concern today. "Move. Out of my way." He hissed, pushing between the pair to avoid another wand carrier with a heavy load.

That yell had taken more out of her than she thought it would but by the sounds of what she heard in response, it was worth it. Someone had heard, someone was asking what it was. Alexa tried to muster enough strength for another yell, uncertain she'd ever get this chance again if this man was allowed to get to what he had planned.
She couldn't. It had become one of her greatest fears ever since she'd had Emmerson; having her little girl wake up one day to her mother not coming home and it only grew worse the longer she stayed away.
Despite the pain that coursed through her, and the heavy way her limbs felt, Lex knew she couldn't give up. It wasn't an option.
Then she heard it. A voice she recognized though it had taken an extra beat. "Korpsit!" A sudden rush of adrenaline jolted through her. "Korpsit, help!" Was she already too late? Had the goblin brushed by as he liked doing? Alexa could only pray he hadn't. "Korpsit!"

| 1,000,000 years later... Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch He nearly jumped when the stranger finally spoke, not that he showed any signs of not expecting it as a Zabini was to always remain composed. The Jersey accent was something else, however. Already Dante was judging the man. Of course he would just stand in the middle of the alleyway like he owned it and acted as if he heard nothing out of the ordinary.
"There was a --" he started in reply, though quickly stopped when he noticed the man had his wand already brandished in his direction. He let go of the wand and displayed both of his hands in surrender. "Easy there. I'm not here to cause trouble. Just trying to get to the Gytrash."
Dante remained focused on the man until the goblin pushed his way between them. He took the opportunity to brush past the man, though hesitated slightly when the voice sounded again.

The goblin was all but past the pair when he heard his name. Even more, the voice attached was one he was certain he knew. One he’d done business with. One that hadn’t been seen in sometime if the news were true. It caused the goblin to whirl around sharply, beady eyes appraising the man from which the voice came. “What have you got there?” He demanded, openly suspicious. In Knockturn Alley, anything was possible and tensions were proving high enough in this harmless exchange.
And then he heard his name again. It sounded like Cambridge. There. What have you got there?” Without waiting, he was already moving toward the man’s pocket, heedless of the wand drawn. “Cambridge, is that you?”

Hearing the goblin say her name sent another jolt through her. It had worked! Thinking she didn't have a moment to waste, Alexa tried again. "I'm in here! In his pocket! Get me out of here!" She didn't time to be tired, didn't have time to be hurt. It was now or never and the now was even closer than it had been moments ago.
A hope filled her for the first time in however long. There was an unspoken promise that she would see her little girl again...see her husband...her father...her family. All she had to do was keep on surviving. Having endured for so long, Lex had no plan to give up now.
She made futile attempts to rattle the mirror from inside, an instinct more than any hope it would really work.
Get. Her. OUT.

| Bathes in Maple Syrup | Dancing Lobster | Mrs. Charlie Weasley | Seneca's Beard | That's So Fetch He was expecting the man to hex him as he stepped to go past him. Then again, he really didn't know what the man would do. His whole demeanour was off. This entire situation was off, which was saying something for Knockturn Alley where everything was anything but rainbows and sunshine. Normally this would have put the Obliviator on edge, but he had backup -- there was a second wand right up his sleeve.
When the goblin started moving for man and Dante put finally together where the voice was coming from, he flicked his wrist and revealed his wand. He pointed it directly at the goblin, appearing like he was there to defend his fellow wizard. "Back off, goblin."
However it was the words 'Cambridge' and 'in his pocket' caused him to make one quick and swift movement of his wand, sending a nonverbal Full Body-Bind Curse at the man.

| As the man seemed to be no threat to him, Jack let his brush past him go. Because just then a goblin showed up and the shouting from his pocket got louder. He shook his coat again, only the sounds didn’t stop. ”Never you mind you imp, move along.” He pointed his wand from the man to the little creature.
Only the wand didn’t seem to detour the goblin. Long fingers started tugging on his coat. ”Stop it. Hands off,” he yelled, but he really didn’t put up much of a fight to keep the goblin at bay. Nor did he even bother to try and ward off the wizard who appeared to come to his aid.
And then a moment later his arms and legs snapped together. He fell forward towards the goblin, stiff as a board. |

| Have to start us here because I am the last post in Moribunds oops A Poop * k8 * Paul Myers, every so often, found himself in Knockturn Alley because there were some plant related things that could only be found in the dingy top-hat of Diagon Alley. Plus, he had a lunch date with Ignatius, which was honestly the real reason he was even running errands today. The last time he'd been in London, he'd had a particularly aggressive and experimental head of talking cabbage in his pocket.
Thankfully, he had left any of those guys at home today.
It was a bit too warm for a thick poncho today, and so he wore a cotton v-neck, light purple, bit of a PERIWINKLE if we're being specific, and a straw hat. Had he remembered to match his shoes today? Glancing at his feet, he was overjoyed to see that he had managed that much. Remembering things like that were becoming harder these days.
The herbologist would wait for Noble out here because the inside of Moribund's was a little stuffy for the white-haired man. He pushed his glasses up further the bridge of his nose and patted his sweaty forehead with a pink handkerchief.

A hint of amusement curled on his lips; in all the time they'd known each other, Paul had never changed. "How go the errands?" Paul neatly folded the handkerchief and slipped it back into his pocket just as Noble appeared. "Ah, Iggy!" he clapped a hand atop Ignatius' shoulder and grinned broadly. He was sure the man hated the nickname, and that was precisely why he used it! There was nothing more enjoyable than messing with Ignatius Noble, no? "I am the most subtle wizard there is!" He chortled, hands on his tummy as he did so. "The errands are going. I think I will need to wait for one after our little rendezvous, but other than that, things are grand. How is your holiday? Any end in sight?" Last he'd heard, the potions master had been abroad and traveling everywhere. Since Paul's blue grass band had been on hiatus, he had not traveled as much as he used to, but he was starting to realize he didn't mind staying home and caring for the vineyard, for his greenhouses, which now numbered five. He'd started with only two. Milton kept joking they needed to hire a staff for the greenhouses, and lately, Paul was inclined to agree that he needed an assistant herbologist. It was... a lot to take care of.
Maybe he would put an ad in the Daily Prophet! Maybe. "You ready for a drink then, old man?" he smiiiiirked and nudged Noble.

| Stuck inside with Sirius | *Splish-Splash* | bamBAM | ☁ Spooktacular ☁ Noble couldn't help but roll his eyes at the herbologist; he did indeed hate the nickname (as well as any other cutesy variants of his first name), and Paul only got away with it due to their deep friendship and respect. Any other, and his wand would have likely been drawn. "If only that were the case, old friend," Noble mused. Paul was pretty much the opposite of subtle, though thankfully in a much less annoying way than, say, a certain Finneas Schmoe. "I'm glad the journey to London has been a productive one. You should know I'm always more than happy to make the trip to the Italian Riviera for you too though." He much enjoyed his trips to the Tuscan countryside, filled with good food, good drink, and good company. "Sabbatical," he corrected Paul, not having viewed his lengthy travels as a vacation as such. It'd been a trip of reconnecting, after being stuck in that magical storm. "And perhaps. I've been picking up some tutoring, and trying to decide my next step." He wasn't adverse to returning to Hogwarts, and had considered reaching out to Trent at a couple of points, but with his daughter now happily traversing the globe with her chosen career, he was open to prospects further afield. Of course, he didn't need to work at all, if he didn't want to. He just wasn't quite ready for the R word just yet.
...and cue another roll of the eyes. "I'll need more than one, if you keep that up." But yes, he was ready for a drink.

| A Poop * k8 * "Oh, I am very aware," he said with an amused glint in his eye. Any chance Ignatius had to swing by Paul and Milton's vineyard, he knew the man would take. Not that he blamed his friend; his home was his favorite place in the world the last few years. "In a few weeks, when I need company again, I'll have you by." He had since adopted three more dogs. They were up to...what was it, nine?
Nine dogs. Merlin's beard.
Aaaahh foooooey! "Sabbatical! Traveling! Isn't it the same sometimes?" he teased Noble. But before they even broached the topic of next steps, Paul gestured in the direction of the pub. "Lead the way, because I would like to pick your brain as well, and I fancy to chat more privately in there than out here. Dodgy characters if you're not too careful right?" He smiled genuinely and started in the direction of Moribund's.
